I am deeply sorry for everyone who had waited and waited for the next chapter of this story. Everyone should of told me a lot sooner! May I say my old computer deleted my next chapter, this was ages ago, and I had no idea how I continued after this. All of you deserve this chapter and please forgive me! So sorry!
"...Sir, please I have an offer..."
The whole room of people stared at Mrs Taylor, even the women at the reception who felt left out, was looking at her. James stood up straight and corrected his tie, before walking over to Mrs Taylor and bent down to look at her. "Yes Mrs Taylor? And what would this...offer be?"
She held her hands close to her chest, a little nervous. She looked at him straight in the eye. "I will take the boy off your hands, and bring him up in my home."
The two police men who held the boy, laughed. Rex, Max and Zoe gasped at Mrs Taylor. James looked at her started, then coughed, making the policemen's taught s stop. Mr Taylor put a hand on his wives shoulder for comfort.
"Mrs Taylor, a word if you please." And he gestured to a room on the right. Both parents followed behind him. Max got up.
"What are you doing mum!"
"Don't worry Max, we'll explain everything very soon." Replied his mother. His father grinned at him. "Dad!?"
"Max." He tipped his cow boy hat to his son, and continued through the door. "We be out shortly!"
The door closed with a slam and everything was quiet again. Max glared at the blonde boy, who glared back. "Don't worry Zoe. My parents won't take him in"
...
James told them to have a seat and they did. James stayed standing, making him look more powerful in the room. He stared at them, with his hands on his hips and bristled his moustache.
"Now Mr and Mrs Taylor, did I hear this correct? You want to look after this child?"
"It may be a surprise to you, but we're really want to adopt this child. I think it will do him well." Mrs Taylor insisted.
"So what do you say uh Sir? Will you let us raise him? We're perfect parents! We have a child of our own you know!"
"You know this isn't an orphan. And that boy isn't any ordinary boy. It was harder enough to catch him, and you expect that you'll be able to tame him?" He looked at him as if this was all a joke.
"'Tame' is a very harsh way of putting it Mr. Speck!" Said Mr Taylor.
"We have thought about it and we believe we could change him, make him a better person. A boy like that would have trouble settling in a orphanage or juvenile, what the boy needs is a place he can call home and where he can feel safe and to be loved." She breathed in deeply. "That's the sort of treatment he needs!"
"So you think you're right for the job?" They nodded at him. To be completely honest with himself, James has had enough of annoying homeless boys on the street and has had it with all the paper work for putting them into an orphan or a juvenile. And there are bigger problems out in the city, murderers and kidnappers. He can't deal with another run away and he was sure this boy would take any chance to get out of juvenile or an orphanage. He can't stand kids these days. He sighed and rubbed the back of his head. He reached for the phone. "I guess I could stretched some strings for you. Might be able to cut down on the paper work as well. But, you need to have both eyes on him when you do adopt him."
The couple's eyes gleamed with happiness. "Don't you worry! We watch him like a T-Rex hunting down its prey!" Said Mr Taylor, shaping his hands like a T-Rex mouth. Mr. Speck gave him a worried and confused look. Mr. Taylor sighed, sweat dropped and apologized. Mrs. Taylor held onto her husbands arm.
"Thank you! We won't disappoint!"

Max was tapping his foot, impatient. He was glaring at the door his parents walked through. How could this happen? And why? Max didn't want a boy like the one who was slouching on the bench. Defiantly when he stole from his mother, something he knew he would never forgive. Zoe was having trouble what to think. She was in this mess as well as Max, but it didn't really change anything for her. She looked over at the boy who was at the end of the bench. He looked harmless, normal. But a little bit grumpy and likely avoided people. She knew Max was never going to like this new stranger in his life, never mind the fact that he won't get use to having another kid in the house. Max was an only child, so it may seem tricky to get use to someone else in the house. If they do adopt him that is. She sighs. The blonde boy looked round at her; Zoe suddenly turned away from him and pretending to fiddle with her nails, a faint blush swept across her face. Other than the boy, Rex. He was delighted. Not that he really showed it. But he still couldn't believe it. He was going to have a family at last! He was going to live under a roof, eat hot food and sleep in a bed! He was shivering with joy and maybe a little tension. Well...he have to stay in the same house as the spiky haired kid. He didn't look very inviting. Rex looked over at him. But this boy wasn't going to stop Rex, Rex is going to stay at his house. And if they don't accept him well a few objects in their house can easily be smashed on impact. Or he could just bite them. When Rex bites, its a sure way of telling that person that he doesn't like them or that they tricked him, which he had to bite countless people in the past. Rex sits back on the bench and looks over at the boy, Max. He smirks to himself. He loves when he's the caused of someone's anger.
Mr and Mrs Taylor finally exited the room along side James.
"Mom!? Dad!? What's going on?" Max asked, wishing all his might that things will stay the way they are. Rex and Zoe stood up politely.
"Well son, it's not much of a surprise but Rex over there is going to be a new extension to our family!" Said his father happily. Max's ears couldn't believe what he was hearing!
"What!" He yelled.
"Now Max, Rex here needs to be around a family. We have thought about it and decided he could come to stay with us." Replied his mother.
"What about me?! What about what I think!?" Then just to make Max's temper worse, Rex walked past him without a care and towards Max's parents. Max growled under his breath.
" What do you say Rex? You want to stay with us? It's your choice remember." Said Spike Taylor.
"I would love to and...thank you very much." He smiled at them, a genuine smile, because if not for them, he could be going off to something much worse. "Thank you, Mr and Mrs Taylor."
"It's an honour to have you stay with us Rex." Mrs Taylor put a firm hand on Rex's shoulder. "And you don't have to call us that you know!"
"Welcome to the family Rex!" Said Spike, patting him on the back harder enough to cut the air out of his lungs. Rex still smiled at him. He had to get the parents on his side before anything might happen.

Mr and Mrs Taylor were sitting on their sofa, and in front of them was Rex sitting on a chair; they were sitting around a small glass table. With Max no where to be seen, Rex felt a little happier. Rex didn't trust the boy, and knew that Max was going to be trying to get him into trouble, he knew it.
"Rex, it's lovely to have you here. But we have been told to set some rules for you and since you never had a home before, these rules might be able to get you adjusted to what we do in a home."
"What kind of rules?" Rex narrowed his eyes, did James set up these rules?
"Well in a family uh, we do house chores. For example one day you may be doing the washing up or clearing up. The next you will have to clean your room. Simple stuff like that." Replied Mrs Taylor. To Rex, it didn't sound too hard.
"I'm sure I can learn" He nodded.
"Also, Rex. I want to talk about the device on your leg. The police want you to stay in doors for a week, to get to know the place better and not to cause any trouble outside." Rex snorted. They want to keep an eye on him, knowing that he's there for a whole week, they were free to relax. Not likely. "You don't mind do you, Rex?"
Rex shook his head. "Not at all." Rex smiled I wasn't planning on leaving any time soon anyway.
"Well other than that, you're free to go Rexy boy"Said Spike. Rex and Aki got up.
"I show you to your room now Rex." Aki beamed at him, taking him by the shoulders and taking him up stairs. She opened the first door on the left and they went in.
The room was a medium size, blue coloured room. On the left corner of the room was a bed and some shelves beside it. A window was above the bed. The view was of the street below with wide, towering trees and the buildings went on for miles. On the right of the room was a desk, with shelves above it and a wardrobe at the end. Rex was amazed. He had never had any of these things here before. He walked over to the bed and fell on it, testing it out. The mattress was firm, but soft and comfortable. The covers were soft and was as fluffy as a cloud. Same with the pillow. Aki smiled at the boy. She walked over to him and sat on the bed.
"How do you like the room? Is the bed okay?" She asked, concerned.
"Yes, everything here is awesome. The room is great thank you." He smiled at her generosity.
"This was the spare room we had, though I didn't know what to put in here for you." Rex sat up, a little nervous.
"I'm sorry. Am I taking up space?" She looked at him a bot shocked.
"Of course you're not!" She smiled sadly at him. She then moved some hair away from Rex's face startling him a bit. "You of all people need somewhere to live and be part of a family. I want you have a good life. I couldn't have you locked up not having no education or in an orphanage thinking that you don't belong there."
To stop the tension in the room, Rex gave a loud yawn. Suddenly looking sleepy. Mrs Taylor put a hand to her mouth. "Oh my! I rambled on didn't I? Well you're here now, how about a little nap before dinner?"
Rex nodded. Once he got his run-down, old shoes off, he climbed into bed, smiling when Mrs Taylor pulled the cover over him. She said a good night and left the room for Rex to fall asleep in peace. Rex put his arms under his head, now he had time to think. Mrs Taylor didn't give him a kiss on the forehead like he thought might happen. Well he may be reading this all wrong, but isn't that what mothers give to their sons before they go off to dreamland? Maybe she didn't want to go that far, since he only just got here after all. The father was a little off, but he could sort things out with the old chap.
Now for the boy, Max. Rex sneered at the name. He wasn't getting along now was he? Luckily he isn't here right now, think he said something about 'Zoe's house' but what ever. Rex sighed, knowing that things aren't going to work out well between them. As if I want be friends with that idiot. He's the one with the family, he should be feeling sorry for me! I never had a family before! But he was fun to mess with. Rex smirked. And what if this 'Zoe' was more than just a friend, true we have no idea what they may be doing now but...if they aren't in a relationship, it be another thing to annoy him with. After thinking over a little strategies in his head, Rex couldn't ignore the soft covers and calls to dreamland any longer. For once, Rex felt happy as he slept and he knew this was going to be a sleep like no other.

Rex woke up to an orange room. The orange coloured sun was bathing Rex's room in the last streaks of sun light before the sun will be replaced with darkness. Rex sat up in bed, stretched and yawned with a grin on his face. He had a wonderful dream. He had a family, namely this one he's with, but the father wasn't all that weird and obviously no Max either. They were sitting in the living room, in front of the fireplace. Rex was with his 'mom' and his 'dad' was telling them all a funny story. It was like a dream come true. Although dreams never come true, if they did I wouldn't be here. He got out of bed and left the room in a hurry. He could hear Mrs. Taylor singing a sweet tune as she made something that made Rex's mouth drool with Silva. Rex looked through the stair's barristers trying to find any sign of Mr Taylor or Max. There was none. So that only means that Rex is allowed to look around upstairs.
The room across from his bedroom. Rex chuckled...'his bedroom.' It sounded so nice. Anyway across from his bedroom was the parents bedroom. One thing on the bedside table made Rex feel sick. A picture of them all. The father, mother and a small brown haired boy of the age of six. Rex picked it up, without another look he dropped it there and then, he heard the glass in the frame break and smiled down at it, it laid faced down. That's better. Rex said to himself and left the room, continuing down the corridor. But before he moved onto the next room he looked back. I hope I don't get in trouble... he looked forward again. Thinking. It's really their fault, they shouldn't have that sort of thing tormenting me like that! The room next to his was Max's room. Rex gave a pained expression. Great my bedroom is next to his. He walked in without a care in the world. He chuckled at the sight of the room.
By the look of it, you wouldn't believe it was a room of a twelve year old. The colour of the walls were blue, like Rex's. It had green curtains and yellow covers for the bed. And at the end of the bed was a stuff dolphin. Other than that everything else was anything related to dinosaurs. Dinosaur alarm clock. Dinosaur posters. A dinosaur shaped board to pin his notes, even his desk chair was a shape of a dinosaur. Rex put a hand over his mouth, to stop himself laughing out loud and not to get caught. But he couldn't help himself. He shook with hysterical fits. He bended over and laughed out loud.
"What are you doing in my room?" Max asked angrily, making Rex's giggling fit come to an end. Rex turned round, yes he was shocked he didn't hear Max come up behind him, but he didn't intend to show it. He smirked at him.
"What can I say? See, I thought this was like a little brother's room, but heck! You don't like keeping secrets do ya?" Max gave him a confused look. Rex sighed. "Well for a twelve year old, I thought you keep this hidden away from all your friends...if you have any al least."
"S-shut up!" Rex walked over to the bed and fell onto it, his hands under his head. He moved around a bit, trying to get comfortable. Max charged over to him.
"Hey, my bed's a lot soft and relaxing than this old thing."
"Oi! Get off my bed you dirty tramp!" Max leaped towards him, but Rex jumped off the bed and landed safely near the wardrobe across from the other side of the room. He put his hands up, smiling sweetly.
"Actually I had a hot, bubbly bath while you were off with that girl. I'm all squeaky clean! Haha!" Max growled and ran at him again. Only for Rex to trip him up and send him crashing to the floor. "Careful. I think that Dinosaur rug has it in for you!"
Before Max had time to recover, Rex legged it. Running from the corridor to the stairs with Max catching him up. They both ran down the stairs at the same time. They stopped at the bottom when they saw Max's mum. She yelped, thinking that they were going to crash into her. She looked back at them.
"Oh Rex, Max. Good. Dinner's ready." She looked at them both and smiled. "And it seems like you two are getting along just fine!"
"Actually I-" Rex poked him in the ribs and walked with Mrs Taylor, cutting through what Max was saying.
"So, Mrs Taylor. What are we having for dinner? I'm starved!" Ignoring the fact that he hadn't eaten properly in a while. She smiled back at him.
"Oh well we're having just something light for now. Steak and a few vegetables." Rex was already drooling by the sound of it.
They all went to the table. With Rex sitting next to Mrs Taylor and Max sitting next to his dad, across from Rex. They sat there glaring at each other. Max's mother brought in the food and Rex thanked them again and that started to eat. Only one little problem. Sure Rex could eat it all, vegetables weren't a problem; if he had a say in it he would eat everyone's dinner on the table. But the use of cutlery was something he was not used to. They were using chop sticks and it was hard enough to get a piece of lettuce with his chopsticks, never mind the steak. Max snickered behind his hand. Mrs Taylor was so into eating her food, that she forgot about poor little Rex! She gasped, as she saw him having trouble holding the chopsticks the right way up. Rex sat there. Humiliated and blushing like crazy. As Max sat there, grinning like a Cheshire cat, Rex sat there with a glare on his face.
"Oh my! Rex! I am so sorry! Here! Let me get you a fork and a knife!" Rex tried to tell her it was all right, but she had already gotten the english cutlery and was already sitting down and handing it over to him.
"Max. That's enough." Said his father. Max looked surprised over at his dad, who gave him a look.
"Thank you Mrs Taylor..."
"Oh call me Aki, Rex!"
"Ah...Okay, thank you Aki...san." He blushed and started to cut up his meat. Max looked dumbfounded at his mother. He couldn't believe she would allow him to call her by name. Max frowned and played with his food.
"Max. Eat your food properly!"
"Yeah Max, the food is too good to be played with!" Rex said. Rex forgotten about the cutlery business, because he had just had the best food in the whole world! The piece of steak exploded in his mouth, giving off wonderful tastes and spices. It was a lot better than he had ever eaten anything before. Rex once tasted whole made bread. Before its expired date was due and the bread was a little soggy (it was raining that day), but it was very tasty. Rex knew that if he stayed here long enough, he will taste the most amazing foods ever!
Obviously, there was a little disagreement with Max and Rex after that conversation. To afford any fights, they all went to bed early. Rex said farewell to Max's parents and went into his room. He laid down on the bed and a minute sooner he heard Max arguing with his parents. Rex frowned as he heard the muffled shouting. Sons weren't suppose to yell at their parents. He shrugged it off and settled down in his comfy bed. He heard Max come into his room. Jumping out of bed, he knocked on the wall on the right side and snickered to himself when he heard Max growling on the other side of the wall. Jumping back in his bed, Rex got his self comfy again and with that, fell into a warm and restless sleep.
Yay! Its finished! Omg guys, I am once again...SORRY! PLease comment if you liked this chapter and comment if you have any ideas what should happen in the next chapter. Though if may not come that quick. Because I have college to pester me and I may just do little notes or whatever. But still of you have any ideas I would love to hear them. I think I made Max a little more meaner, less of the dad because I don't write in his style. I see a very close bond with Rex and Aki though. So I see you in the next chapter. Oh and if you read my story Devil, yeah I'm sorry about that one too 0.o' xxxxxxxxxxx
