Abyss: Hello and welcome to another chapter which I procrastinated on. Lost Voice Chapter 1, The "Other" Idol. Another OC appears here, (another doctor, he may or may not be appearing in the next chapters) IA: Abyss does not own any of us, but he does own the fanfic. Abyss: And I think IA's the only one who can phrase it right. Anyway, enjoy.
Miku…Miku!"MIKU!" I yelled as I sat up straight in bed, startling the man who had just came in. "Whoa! Calm it! Miku's fine!" I realized it was a doctor because of the white coat he was wearing.
He looked strange though, with messy and spiked white hair and sharp red eyes. Dark circles hung under them so it looked like he hasn't gotten any sleep at all.
"W-Where am I? Where's Miku!?" Questions started pouring out of my mouth like a waterfall. "I said calm down. You're in the hospital." I saw the man scratch behind his head, yawning.
R-Right, because of what happened last time…. Thinking back made me shiver. A sudden pain in my shoulder snapped me back to reality. "Ow!" The doctor sighed. "You got shot, man. Don't move your arm too much." He said, staring at me tiredly. A tag hanging on his chest revealed to me that his name was Ryuto.
"What about Miku?" I asked. "She's fine. Thankfully, she survived. However, she lost her voice." Ryuto said nonchalantly. Questions started running through my head again. What if she doesn't get it back!? How will she be an idol now!?
"We have a device to generate a voice for her, though. It's still a prototype…. Don't try to take it off when you get back." Ryuto explained. "It looks like a collar, just so you know—" Suddenly a sound started ringing in his pocket.
He turned around and pulled out his phone, a loud voice yelling as he answered it. "RYUSEI! WHERE ARE YOU!?" "Onee-chan, stop yelling…" He groaned as he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
I sighed and rubbed my shoulder.
Looks like I won't be able to help out with Miku for a few days.
-Timeskip, Miku's P.O.V-
As Abyss promised, I was able to get out the next day. Mikuo also came out, so it was alright, we could go home. My company was informed, and they promised that they would find a way for me to continue my idol work with the artificial voice.
It felt so good to be back home after the whole thing, and the funny thing was, when I got back, my two younger friends Rin and Len ran to me like little kids. "MIKU!" Rin yelled as she tackled me to the ground. Len was trying to catch up with her. Poor boy.
"Rin! Get off! I'm back!" I yelled. Rin looked up at me, her eyes wide with surprise. Even her ribbon seemed to straighten up. "M-Miku, what's with your voice?" Len asked nervously. "A-Ah, this is…" I wasn't accustomed to my new voice either. "She lost her voice in the crossfire. She has a device to generate a new voice now." Kaito explained calmly. He had offered to drive Mikuo and I home, since Mikuo couldn't use his arm. Hey, my brother is responsible and helps out a lot, but he's a bit weak.
"B-But what will the fans think?" Rin asked. She was nervous- I could see her bow shaking.
I became nervous too- Yeah, what would they think?
That night, I found it hard to sleep.
-Another timeskip!-
Mikuo insisted that I stay at home, but I felt like I should go out, do a bit of thinking. "But what if the others see you!?" "I'll be fine." I told him. "I'll just try to blend in the crowd."
Cold air greeted my face as I stepped out into the streets. It was winter- snow was beginning to fall. A snowflake hit my nose as I continued on.
Once I reached a particularly busy part of the city, I pulled the hood I had on down so that no one would see me and make a fuss over me if I spoke. Turns out luck wasn't on my side.
The wind suddenly blew, blowing back my hood. Everyone then proceeded to stop and stare at me. "G-Guys it's Miku!" "So cute..!" "I gotta take a picture!" "U-Um…" That was all I could manage before someone suddenly grabbed my hand and ran.
"H-Hey!" At first I thought it was someone I knew, like Oliver or Len, but no, it was someone with long hair. The person was wearing a hat. We turned into an alley and the people rushed by. When the crowd disappeared, the stranger let go.
"Um…t-thank you—Eh!?" The stranger- who I discovered to be female- pulled off her hat and stared at me with blank eyes. That long, flowing hair, that expression—No doubt, this was Aria-san!
She was holding a plastic bag in her left hand- I could see a LOT of negima in it for some reason- with her gray hat in the other. "Aria-san—" "IA." She said. Her voice sounded robotic like mine. She had the device earlier than me, so hers seemed more fragile than mine. Probably why she didn't let me touch it the last time we met.
"Excuse me?" "IA. It's IA." She repeated. "O-Okay, IA-san, thank you for saving me from the crowd." I bowed."It's not safe to be walking out after an incident like that." IA said blankly, putting the hat on my head. "H-How did you know?" "….That doctor Ryuto told me." She said. I had no idea who this Ryuto was, I just knew that that was the guy who operated on Mikuo. Mikuo told me himself.
"E-Eh? Then—" "Calm down. Don't panic, it's bad." She pulled out a negima stick from her bag. "Here, have a negima." My stomach rumbled. I hadn't eaten breakfast, I realized. "T-Thank you…" I took it. She pulled out her own stick and immediately started chomping down on it.
"IA-san…" "Hm?" She looked up at me, bits of the food near her mouth. "This isn't the best place to talk, is it now..?" She looked around. "…Hm." She tossed the stick into a garbage bag that was lying around. "I guess. I know a park."
She led me again, to another place. It was a familiar park to me- It was where I met Kaito. I found him tugging at his mother's sleeve, begging for ice cream. Apparently, there was an ice cream parlor just in front of the park so that's where I saw him. Plus it was one of the best ice cream parlors in town, so I completely understand why he acted like that.
"Do you want ice cream? My treat." IA offered me. I nodded. She was such a nice girl, though she had a blank expression and a monotone voice. She walked on as I sat on a bench, munching on the negima stick she gave me.
I sat there pondering what to do. If people were to see me or hear me like this, the company would kill me. I sighed. I wonder how IA became so used to her voice already. I couldn't even handle mine.
A tap on the shoulder startled me. Speak of the devil. She was right there, with two ice cream cones in her hands. After giving me my cone, she followed up with a statement. "Blue-haired man at the store. He was asking if I saw you."
"Oh, that's just Kaito, don't mind him—" "MIKU!" I saw Kaito running over. IA quickly handed me her cone before moving to the side, causing Kaito to ram into her instead. "Miku! I didn't know you wore gr-" IA stared at Kaito blankly. "O-OH MY GOD I'M SO SORRY!" Kaito scrambled to his feet and bowed repeatedly.
"Kaito….I'm right over here…." I sighed. Sometimes he was really an idiot.
"MIKU!" He leapt again, but was stopped by IA who had lifted her bag and put the strap around his neck, pulling on it as hard as she could, half-strangling him.
"A-Ack!" "Don't leap at people like that." She stated.
Kaito stopped struggling. She let go. "You're that idol, right?" He asked. IA nodded then looked at her watch. "I have to go. Keep the hat." She left shortly afterwards.
"Oh, I forgot to thank her for the—" "It's fine!" She called out. I'm surprised that she can hear me from that far away.
Kaito nodded. "Anyway, Miku, I have something to talk to you about."
"Hm?"
"The company called. They want to discuss the incident with you."

Abyss: And there you have it, chapter 1. I couldn't resist putting IA into the story, I just like her so much… Oh and the negima part for IA was a joke on Konoha from Kagerou Project, considering how she sang Konoha's State of the World with Miku XDD Anyway, there. Sorry for the long wait.
