Chapter two, the girl.

Gamora's point of view.

"Quill, we're close!" Rocket yelled through the ship as he flew towards Knowhere. I could hear the music playing throught the ship and, for once, kept back the complaint that I would normally send to Peter. The events after Ego had really effected him, and he turned to his music a lot of the time. Some of the tracks still annoyed me beyond compare, but I had learned to keep my tongue. The 'unspoken thing' between me and him meant I cared.

"What are we even doing here, Rocket?" I asked, resting my forearm on the back of his chair.

"Quill wanted to go to this black market. Said they have Terran shit." Rocket shrugged, bringing the Milano closer and closer to the surface as he spoke. I rolled my eyes. I felt a light tap on my leg and looked down to see Groot smiling up at me.

"I am Groot?" He held his arms up in the air, shifting his weight from one foot to the other irritably. I smiled and lifted him up, before sitting him on my shoulder.

Footsteps behind me made me turn around, and I could see Peter coming up towards the windshield.

"Quill why do you need to go here?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He grinned.

"They have stuff from earth!" He said, causing a roll of my eyes.

"I am Groot." Groot piped in, making Rocket whip his head around.

"Hey, watch your mouth." He said, before turning back to the front. I smirked, shaking my head lightly. Rocket landed the ship then turned to us.

"Right, we go in, steal the shit, then we go back here."

"What, no!" Said Peter. "Dude we have units." Peter said.

"I know, but I ain't using 'em." Rocket said, making me roll my eyes.

"Rocket we have units for a reason." I said. He just grumbled something under his breath.

"I am Groot?" Groot climbed off of my shoulder and stood on the back of Rocket's chair.

"No, you stay here." Rocket said.

"I am Groot."

"Yes I'm going."

"I am Groot?" Groot turned to me and pouted.

"Don't you ask somebody else. Stay here, we'll be back in a minute." Rocket got out of his chair and walked towards the hatch. Groot frowned.

"We'll be back in a second, Peter needs to get some stuff." I said gently, smiling. I stroked the side of his face gently, before following Rocket and Peter out of the ship.

"So where's this black market of yours?" I asked Peter, walking beside him.

"Right through here." He said, pointing through the streets of Knowhere.

"This seems a bit sketchy." I said. "When was the last time you were here?" He shrugged.

"I dunno, twenty years?" I looked at him, arms crossed over my chest.

"What?!" Yelled Rocket. "You're tellin' me you dragged us out here for no frickin' reason?!" Peter looked at him and shook his head.

"I'm telling you, it'll still be there." I rolled my eyes. We walked down the street for a while before Peter stopped in front of a clean looking building. It's walls were glass but they were painted white so you couldn't see inside.

"Okay that's new." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"C'mon, lets go." Rocket said. Peter shook his head.

"Funny thing...it used to be here." I heard Rocket growl in frustration.

"What even is this place? It looks too neat to be from Knowhere." I said, walking closer to the building. Peter shrugged.

"Let's find out." He said, before tugging on the door.

"Huh, locked." I rolled my eyes. Rocket went over to the door and stuck something to it, before backing us all up far away from it. And explosion went off, smashing most of the glass at the front of the building.

"That works." Peter said.

We all stepped into the building, coughing as the smoke stall clouded the air. The glass crunched under our feet as we walked further into the building.

"What the hell is this place?" Peter asked once the smoke cleared. It looked kind of like the Xandarian hospital. The walls were all white and smelled of bleach. Some of the doors were open, and I could see medical equipment in each.

"Quill we need to go." I heard Rockets voice, unusually quiet.

"Rocket what is this place?" Before he could answer, a blood curdling scream filled the air, making me flinch. We all ran forward towards the sound of the scream and opened the door at the end of the corridor. A young girl writhed around on a table she was strapped down to, while two doctors watched. She looked Terran, and had kind of the same resemblance to Peter. Her hair and skin were the same colour, the same with the shape of her features. Her eyes were squeezed shut as she screamed in pain, trying her hardest to get out.

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Yelled Peter. I grabbed the blasters that Peter had given me and aimed it at the people in the lab coats.

"Rocket do something!" I yelled. Peter had already ran around the table and was fighting with the scientists. Rocket went over to a desk and started flicking switches. Suddenly the electricity stopped flowing into the building and all the lights went out, only a small desk lamp lighting the room. The girl twitched but didn't seem to be in pain anymore.

"Oh my god." Peter whispered as he looked at the girl. She stopped twitching and went limp, her head hanging to the side.

"What the fuck is going on?" He asked, going over to the girl. I started to undo the binds keeping her to the table, before gently moving the hair out of her face.

"She's so pale and small." I said.

"Quill we need to go." Rocket hissed again. More voices came down the hall, obviously coming for us. Peter nodded his head. He scooped the small girl into his arms and ran with us out of the room. I shot at all of the people that tried to stop us, making sure Peter was out safely before I stopped shooting. We ran to the ship and luckily the hatch was already open when we got there.

Peter walked into the ship, to be met with a confused Groot.

"I am Groot?"

"We don't know who she is! Asshole there decided to abduct her." Rocket pointed to Peter, who ignored him and continued down the hall. I shot Rocket a glare before following Peter. He brought her into his room and gently lay her on his bed. He sighed, sitting next to her.

"What the hell was that place?" He asked, looking up at me. I shrugged.

"I don't know, but Rocket does. We'll talk to him later." He nodded his head.

"I guess we just have to wait until she wakes up."

Chapter two finished. Thank you to Supergeek1810 for liking the first chapter, and I hope you'll like the second just the same. This chapter was more of the other side of the story, and who better to tell that than Gamora. I'm writing up the next chapter right now so at latest it'll be out tomorrow. Maybe later today if you're lucky. So, what do you think? Reviews and suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you for reading!
