Chapter 1 Extreme Aggressive (Episode 1)

Who knew that I could meet my father in the middle of the case. I haven't seen him for the past 2 years and I don't know where, to begin with. I used to be his daddy's little girl but it changed when he cut off his communication with me when mom is dead.

We're in the case to capture our Unsub and I question myself if this reunion will help me to solve the case with their help. ~Novilene Cruz

F.B.I Northwest Field Office Seattle, Washington

Novilene is still grasping how on earth did she get herself involved with the F.B.I when she's working in London not Seattle. She blinks her eyes and sighs heavily and shoving her arms inside of her black coat pocket.

"You've faced a lot of most dangerous criminals, Novilene." She whispered herself low enough and shaking slightly. "Pull yourself together."

She went inside and been greeted by one of the FBI officers offering her a smile as she returned the gesture as well. Novilene couldn't help but feel curious why they need her when she's working as a cop, not an FBI profiler Agent.

"Captain Cruz, we are delighted that you're here to help us with the murder case, I'm Agent Ray Davies." The male Agent greeted her . "We would like to apologize for coming you here unexpected."

"That's fine, Agent Davies. I would like to know why I'm being involved in this case." Novilene asked curiously and tilted her head slightly at him. She was glad that the FBI didn't know she works as the IMF or known as Impossible Mission Force as a human lie detector, master in disguise and spy Agent.

"We heard from your previous Captain, Vargas, that you have a lot of experience with this and manage to capture the criminals that are very dangerous people especially when one of them are most wanted." He answered and smiled slightly at her. "Not many people at this young age of yours could do this case but we really appreciate for accepting our help."

"Thanks so... are we waiting for someone to come?" Davies lead her where the office is.

"Yes and we also ask help from the BAU Department." Novilene froze and stared at him with blank expression but hiding her surprised expression. "I hope you don't mind if they come along as well."

"I don't mind." She fake smile and having the possibility of seeing her father again. "The more the merrier to solve the case and capture our Unsub quickly." Novilene pushing her glasses up.

"Would you like have some drink?" He didn't notice her fake smile.

"Yes, I would like to have some tea." Davies smiled and leaving the woman alone.

Novilene sigh quietly and smiling politely towards the other FBI Agents. She noticed a man in his stoic with dark brown hair without showing any emotion, the other man wearing his playboy smile and a man that his hair was messy but the eyes showed kindness. It clicks him that this man is older than her a year or two years. Lastly, Novilene saw her father now for the past two years.

Novilene mentally shakes off her feeling and to focus the case on hand before reuniting with him. There are a lot of words trying to say but it ends up nothing like a void for not seeing her father in 2 years.

"This is Special Agent Gideon, Special Agent Morgan, our expert on obsessional crimes, Special Agent Reid-" The stoic man introduced his team but was cut off by her father.

"Dr. Reid." He corrected him and Novilene smiled then thanking Davies as she sips her tea.

"Dr. Reid, our expert on... well, everything. And after 2 years busting my butt in this office, I hope you remember me." Everyone chuckled and Davies clearing his throat that earned a look from the stoic man.

"I also seek help someone from London." Davies spoke and patting Novilene's shoulder. "This is Captain Novilene Cruz from London Metropolitan Police."

"Isn't she a bit young to become a Captain?" Morgan asked then it click him. "Wait... you're that woman who graduated the Oxford University at the age of 13, Cambridge University at the age of 18 and got 30 homicide cases right after you graduate." He stared at her in surprised expression as she returned in blank expression but hiding his fear. "You also captured one of the most wanted criminal 2 years ago!"

"I am and I hope you don't mind working a very young Captain like me." Novilene spoke up in her British accent and staring at the stoic man while ignoring the surprised look from his father. "May I know your name, sir."

"Aaron Hotchner." Hotchner recovered his shocked and couldn't help that her eyes are similar to a certain man.

"He's willing to travel with the body." Gideon spoke up when he examined the pictures of a missing person.

"Then he drives a vehicle capable of concealing one." Hotchner added and Novilene nodded her head in agreement.

"1 in 7.4 drivers in Seattle owns an SUV." Reid added when he examines the information but often glancing at Novilene which she noticed it but pretending to ignore it.

"Explorer with tinted windows."

"Explorers rate higher with women." Novilene added and holding her chin in deep thought while staring at the pictures in her cold calculative look.

"But how do we know it's his car? Ted Bunny drove a VW Bug."

"What about a Jeep Cherokee?"

"Jeep's are more masculine."

Novilene narrowed her eyes then closing it as Reid noticed her expression changed when she's analyzing the case. Reid wondered who this young woman really is aside from her name and famous for being the first young female Captain in London Metropolitan Police.

"We all know how an Unsub feels about asserting his masculinity." Novilene spoke and facing the others and Gideon agreed with his opinion.

"When did the Bureau become involved in the case?" Hotchner asked them curiously.

"After the fourth body." Davies spoke up. "He dumped that one out of state."

"On purpose."

"If so, knowledge of law enforcement does suggest a criminal record." Novilene and Reid answered in sync then staring each other in a shocked look. They didn't expect to answer together as Novilene looked away from Reid.

"Or that he watches television. May I?" Morgan asked permission from Davies as he hands over the file to him.

"So you wanna see our suspect list?" Davies asked them curiously.

"No, we won't look at a suspect list until after we come up with a profile. It keeps our perspective unbiased." Hotchner answered and Novilene observed the picture from another board.

"When do we sit down with your task force?" Gideon asked them.

"4:00." One of the Agents answered.

"An accurate profile by 4:00 today?" Morgan stopped reading the files.

"That's not a problem." Gideon approached his daughter and standing right next to her.

"Agent Gideon, where would you like to start?" Hotchner asked his colleague.

"Are you thinking the same thing, Novilene?" Gideon asked his daughter in soft tone and Novilene blinking her eyes twice.

"Yes, sir." Everyone stares at her and Novilene points the picture of the abandoned underground. "Let's start at the site of the last murder. However, I'll be interviewing someone while you go to that scene."

Gideon hides his disappointed look knowing they had a huge tension between them. He couldn't blame his daughter after his action for cutting off communication, leaving without a trace and didn't see her in two years. Gideon noticed his Novilene became more mature than before it's like he's far from her to be reached.

She's The One

Novilene decided to join with Hotchner and Reid to interviewed one of Heather Woodland's sibling, David. She knew that it'll be a huge tension between for not seeing in the past 2 years but sending pictures of herself.

"Hi." Novilene snapping out her thoughts and smiling politely at Reid. "I-I'm Spen-Spencer Reid- Dr. Spen-Spencer Reid. We haven't been properly introduced to each other... not that I don't blame you-"

"That's fine." She assured him and noticed he's shy and nervous around her even Hotchner could see it as well. "We're more focusing on the case and haven't got time to introduce to each other, Reid."

"You're gorgeous today." She's taken back in a surprised expression and Hotchner smirked in amused towards Reid. "I mean- not today but everyday- all the time and you have the same eyes of your father, Gideon- with the shown of kindness-"

Novilene raise her right hand to stop him from rambling before he gets himself talk more. Reid blushed furiously and noticed his mistake in talking so fast towards her. Not to mention he could see her red cheeks for embarrassing her.

"I believe that my dad told you about myself..." She smiles slightly and shrugged slightly. "Why don't we question him first before you're going to talk fast that we barely understand." Reid already realizes that he's not alone inside of the living room.

"Right." He flinches in surprised when the labrador dog barking at him.

"Sandy, no, no, no. I'm so sorry." Heather Woodland's brother, David, apologize to them smiling sheepishly.

"No, it's ok." Hotchner assured him. "It's what we call the Reid effect. Happens with children, too. I'm Agent Hotchner. This is Special Agent Dr. Reid and Captain Cruz, she's from England."

Novilene stared at Reid in a surprised looked that the animals hate him including the children as well. She didn't see him a threat but a kind guy despite seeing this guy the first time.

"You look too young to have gone to medical school." The man spoke then glance at her. "You look young to become a Captain."

"Let's just say... I'm one of those genius people." Novilene answered and skimming all the magazine been piled up.

"They're Ph.D's 3 of them." Reid answered and Novilene stopped what she was doing then staring at him in a curious expression.

"Are you a genius or something just like her?" David asked the young man.

"I-I-I don't believe that intelligence can be accurately quantified- but I do have an IQ of 187 and an eidetic memory and can read 20,000 words per minute." Reid rambled while David stared at him in confuse as Novilene chuckled lightly at Reid's nervousness.

"To make it short as what Dr. Reid says..." Novilene spoke up and smiling politely at Reid as he blushed slightly then smiled back. "He is a genius like me but with a different IQ that I have without eidetic memory."

Novilene focus on the car magazine as she skimming it quickly then it clicks her mind that Heather got herself kidnapped by riding the car with someone else when she tried to test it out. The young woman stared up at the wall thinking about her theory and sensing Reid is approaching at her direction.

"Not sense. Smell." Reid corrected David and Novilene bit her lips lightly. "Our apocrine sweat gland releases secretions in response to emotional stress."

"You don't have to explain deeply to him." Novilene whispered at Reid as he stared at her confused. "You're making him confused... David, does your sister drive a Datsun Z?"

"No, but she's in the market for one. How'd you know?" David asked the young woman as Novilene pushes her glasses up then leaving them alone while dragging the dog.

"There's an immediate relationship established between a buyer and a seller, a level of trust." Reid explained it to his superior and finally understand Novilene's theory. "If I want to coax a young woman into my car..."

"Offer her a test drive." Hotchner finished Reid's thought and noticed Novilene is in deep thought like her mind is somewhere. "You okay, Cruz?"

"I'm fine." Novilene assured the two men and offering them a smile. "I'm a bit tired after the last case I have yesterday... we should probably tell this to my- I mean Gideon about this." She leaves them before they had a chance to ask about the relationship between a father and a daughter.

They can't be fooled so easily noticing the tension between Gideon and his daughter. Especially Novilene goes with them not with her own father that they've been reunited now. Novilene shakes her head slightly and focusing the case rather than her personal life.

She's The One

"Okay, then how about the fact that on one hand, we have a paranoid psychosis..." Morgan spoke while throwing the ball up lightly. "But the autopsy says what?"

"Adhesive reside shows he put layer after layer of duct tape over his victims' eyes." Reid twirl around the chair right beside Novilene who's busy analyzing the files in her usual cold calculative look.

"He knows what he wants to kill them, but he still covers their eyes. He doesn't want 'em looking at him, apparently. Okay, but then he takes the body and dumps it right out in the open, murder weapon nearby."

"Not the M.O of a paranoid convinced he's being watched or surveilled." Reid noticed Novilene's eyes are closed while clasping her hands together as she bows down her head like praying.

Novilene thinks a lot of her theories as she finally knows who the profiler is. She opens her eyes and stared at Gideon's direction in a blank expression thinking he thought the same thing as her.

"All right, enough." Gideon stopped their discussions. "Let's tell them we're ready." He stared at Novilene that she already knew as well then walking out the office.

"We're ready?" Morgan asked in disbelief tone then stared at the young man. "Reid. You're good with this?" Reid stopped writing down the notes. "We've got a woman who's only got a few hours left to live, an incomplete profile, and a unit chief on the verge of a nervous breakdown." Gideon came back to grab his things.

"They don't call them nervous breakdowns anymore." Gideon corrected him then stared at Novilene. "Novilene, you'll be with me in the meeting later..." Novilene was about to protest but he gave her a look. "We have a similar theory as well... I'll have to drag you with me whether you like it or not." He left and Novilene slump down the chair.

"It's called a major depressive episode." Reid said bluntly at Morgan.

"I know, Reid." Morgan stared at the young woman. "Are you going to go after Gideon or not?"

"I probably will since we need talk about our theories." Novilene pushes her glasses up and grabbing the files.

"You guys seriously need to talk." Hotchner gave Morgan a look whereas Novilene stared at Morgan with a serious expression. "You have a huge tension and what makes you feel nervous about him? He's your father."

"A father who left without a trace after my mother's funeral... I often give him some of my pictures with a letter when I manage to track him down but didn't reply me back, call or sending me an email." Novilene spoke up and giving Morgan a glare as he flinches at her cold eyes. "Whatever the problems that Gideon and I have? It's none of your business." She leaves the office with a loud slam.

"You're an idiot Morgan." Hotchner sighs heavily at his co-worker behavior that he asks a very sensitive question to Novilene. "They didn't contact each other for 2 years and somehow... Cruz manage to track him down."

"Gideon told me that she do it often to him but he didn't reply back." Reid added and hoping that Gideon and Cruz's relationship will be fixed.

"That explains it... she's quite a bit scary." Morgan pointed out and shivering slightly. "I shouldn't say it out loud to her. Not to mention she can be like her father, quite intimidating sometimes."

She's The One

Novilene sighs quietly and trying to activate the projector before the others get inside of the room. Gideon saw she just finished setting the computer up and decided to have conversations with her just a for a while.

"Mulan..." Novilene closes her eyes that she remembered Gideon calling her that because they have a bit similar personality. Showing to everyone that woman could also do what man does by honoring their family. "You look more beautiful now."

"Thanks, dad." Novilene spoke and smile slightly at him. "When I have this feeling that I'll be meeting you soon... I didn't expect to meet you this case."

Gideon smiled that he can finally talk to her in normal conversations. He also can't help but feel slightly nervous seeing her daughter for not seeing in 2 years.

"Your sixth sense?" She nodded her head. "Your skills are suitable enough to become an FBI."

"I don't think it's a good idea for me to join the FBI." Novilene pushes her glasses up. "After this case, I'll resign London Metropolitan Police because I'm going get a call soon from my boss."

Gideon sighs heavily that her talent is quite extraordinary almost match with her stepbrother, Ethan Hunt. He also knew that Novilene is working with the IMF a secret organization that has an elite Agents. His daughter is one of those elite Agents because Ethan recruit her to join his team. Her profile can only be open by her previous work but there are few of them are classified information, because she's secretly working with the IMF. Only himself knows what Novilene is working with them and hoping he could try to persuade her to join the BAU before he gets himself retire.

"Ethan called you?" Gideon asked Novilene and she hums in response. "What will happen to your work when you quit?"

"Half of them will try to stop me from resigning and the other will be happy because the she-Devil Captain is going to quit her job." Novilene answered and glad that their tension is slightly off.

"You're a strong person who doesn't even care the age and gender." Gideon pointed out and patted her shoulder.

"Thanks dad." She smiled and holding his hand. "I hope that someday... you can open with me because I heard what happened in 6 months ago."

"Novi-"

"Dad... I'll wait until you're ready to tell me. I just want to hear it from you in person, not that news." She smiled and stepping back as everyone piled inside of the conference room.

Gideon stared at his daughter as she nod in reassuring that she'll join to explain the theory as well from their unsub.

"The unidentified subject is white and in his late 20's. He's someone you wouldn't notice at first." Gideon explained to everyone. "He's someone who'd blend into any crowd. The violent nature of the crime suggests a previous criminal record- petty crimes. Maybe auto theft."

"We've classified him as an organized killer- careful." Novilene spoke in her British accent for living in London for 5 years. "Psychopathic as opposed to psychotic. He follows the news, good hygiene. He's smart."

"Cause he's smart, the only physical evidence you'll find is what he want you to find. He's mobile, car in good condition. Our guess- Jeep Cherokee, tinted windows. The murders have all involved rapes. But rape without penetration is a form of piquerism, and that tell us he's actually sexually inadequate." Gideon glance at Novilene to continue where he left off as she opens her mouth to speak.

"Psychiatric evaluations will show a history of paranoia stemming from a childhood trauma- death of a parent or a family member... and now he feels persecuted and watched. Murder gives him a sense of power. Organized killers have a fascination with law enforcement. They will inject themselves into the investigation. They will even come forward as witnesses to see just how much the police really know. That makes them feel powerful, in control." Novilene explained and noticed their surprised expression coming from them that they didn't expect a cop like her could be with Gideon to explain everything.

"Which is why we also think... in fact, we know... you have already interviewed him."

She's The One

Richard Slessman been caught by a simple bait to lure him inside of the dark house. Novilene concentrate harder then it clicks her that Richard is not alone to capture Heather. Someone place their hand on her shoulder as she turns back to see Reid is staring at her worriedly.

"You okay, Captain Cruz-"

"Novilene is fine." She smiled at him and appreciate that he's worried about her wellbeing. "Richard Slessman is not the only one who kidnapped Heather. He's too skinny and not strong enough to kidnap her."

"Is this your sixth sense that Gideon told me about?" Novilene stared at him with a shocked expression that she never told anyone about it before. "I've never met someone who could sense in danger so easily like they could predict the future which is-"

"Spencer..." She giggling and Morgan smirked seeing Reid is rambling to Novilene. "You ramble too much... I'm glad that you didn't think of me as a crazy person."

"You're not a crazy person." He blurted out and she blinks at him behind her glasses. "You're a strong and independent woman... not to mention you've got promote from Detective to Captain in 3 years now and everyone respects you."

"As much as I would love to continue this conversation... we should focus this case first." She sighs lightly and observing her surroundings then watching at Slessman's family.

"There's no sign of the girl here. We can arrest him with probable cause, but we won't be able to hold him." He saw Gideon went inside of the house. "Slessman's been at the top of the suspect list."

"Is that the mother?" Gideon asked them while staring at the old lady.

"Grandmother." Another woman spoke before Novilene could answer it when she appeared in front of them coming from the living room. "The mother died in a fire when he was 13."

"Probably not the only fire in his childhood." Novilene shakes off the death of her mother mentally then focusing the case on hand.

"Before his Son of Sam murders, David Berkowitz set a multitude of fires." Novilene pointed out and while flipping different books in her cold calculative look.

"Exactly how much is a multitude?" Morgan asked the young woman and Reid.

"According to his diary, 1,400 and..." Reid was interrupted by the other woman.

"88." The older woman finished it off and Novilene glance at her discretely and wondering who she is.

"Luring him out was your idea, right? Greenway?" Gideon asked her and noticed her daughter is busy analyzing her theory.

"Elle." She corrected the senior Agent. "I don't send a SWAT team into a house with children."

"Hotch says your background is in sex offender case. What can you tell us?"

"Who's Hotch?" Novilene whispered at Reid in curious expression.

"It's actually Aaron Hotchner but we call him Hotch for short." Reid whispered back and Novilene nodded her head in understanding.

"The last 4 murders show he's an anger-excitation rapist. He'll keep a victim for a couple of days. He probably records or videotapes them so that he can keep reliving the fantasy." The older woman known as Elle explained it to Gideon.

"You okay with Hotch being in on the interview?" Gideon asked Elle in his serious expression.

"I'd like him to lead, actually." Elle answered and stared at the younger woman wearing cold calculative look when she flips different books.

"Fine but hold off. Slessman's done time, and he knows the process." Gideon glanced at his daughter then at Elle. "And all you will get now is a demand for a lawyer. Hotch, let's check the garage then show me what you got."

Elle decided to approach the young woman when she's in deep thought in her cold look. She didn't expect this young woman could involve this case just like the young man, Reid.

"Hey." Novilene snapping out her thoughts and staring Elle in curious expression before smiling politely at her. "Are you a newbie?"

"No, I actually work in London Metropolitan Police from England, Captain Novilene Cruz." She raises her hand to shake Elle's hand.

"Elle Greenway and you can call me Elle, why does the FBI need you for?" Elle asked curiously and Novilene shrugged having no clue aside from having kidnapping case.

"No clue... right after the case I solve, I've been sent here to help them immediately." Novilene explained and going up to the floor looking for different clues.

Elle hums and can't help but feel something mysterious about Cruz. Cruz has the same eyes of Gideon and she can tell that they're father and daughter what it makes her curious more is why she has a different surname. She shrugged and trying to seek Morgan's advice.

Novilene went to the attic to see her father, Hotch A.K.A Hotchner and Reid. She smiled and glanced down at the board filled with black and white stones were placed.

"Wei-chi?" Novilene asked and Reid nodded his head in agreement. "Who knew that someone could play Asian boardgame."

"Have you played this game before Novilene?" Reid asked curiously and wondering how she manages to know this game.

"No, my Chinese friend played this game before." She answered and observing the game.

"What kind of a game is it?" Elle voiced out when she gets inside of the room.

"In China, it's called wei-chi." Reid answered for the older woman.

"Here we call it 'go'." Novilene pointed out and crossing her arms. "It's considered to be the most difficult board game ever conceived."

"Chairman Mao required his generals to learn it." Gideon added and smiled seeing his daughter.

"It looks like he's playing himself." Reid voiced out his opinion and Novilene nodded her head in agreement.

"I agree with you there, Spencer." Novilene agreed with him when she traces the edge of the board.

"How can you two tell?" Elle asked in a surprised tone that she didn't expect the two young people are a genius.

"This might provide an advantage, actually." Reid answered when he twirled the board by using fingers. "Go is considered o be particularly psychologically revealing game. There are profiles for every player-"

"The conservative point counter, the aggressor, the finesser." Novilene intervened and closing her eyes when everyone stared at her shocked.

"What kind of player is Slessman?" Hotch asked the two young genius. Now he definitely understands why Gideon trying to persuade him to let his daughter join the BAU because her skills almost match the knowledge towards Reid. What made him surprised most is Cruz going to quit her job after this case. He made a decision to confront her after this case by letting Cruz to join his team.

"Extreme aggressor." Reid answered when he stared at the board.

She's The One

Novilene tunes out everything when she grabs the book of Journal of Applied Criminal Psychology from the bookshelves. She flips the page to get some answers and froze to see the picture of her father and the other guy.

"Dad..." Novilene called Gideon and Elle looked surprised to hear calling her dad instead of a surname when it comes to work. "Do you want me to talk with him or you'll do it?"

"What are you talking about?" Gideon asked curiously and froze to see Novilene what she's holding it. "I'll do it and come with me. Your human lie detector could put a good use for it."

Novilene shrugged and ignoring their surprised looks as they go downstairs to meet up with the suspect. Gideon throws the book on the table then seating down across from Slessman.

"You read my paper. Learn anything?" Gideon asked Slessman whereas Novilene stared at him with cold and a blank expression.

"Heirens said a man living inside of his head was the one who committed the murders. You said he was lying, that there'd be never been an actual case of multiple personalities." Slessman answered and he squirms seeing the young woman not showing any emotions.

"You have an academic interest in disassociative identity disorder, or you just planning your defense?" Slessman just smirked and Novilene narrowed her eyes at his behavior. "You a fan of Adrian Baal's work?" Gideon grabbed the paper and showing it to him.

"No. I'm a fan of yours. You know they never give you the real facts about the CPR... that outside of a hospital, it's only effective 7% of the time. Your friend had a 93% certainty of dying, but you kept trying... even after you'd broken his ribs, even after his blood was all over your hands." He tried to mocked Gideon as Novilene hated it when someone dared to taunt her family or friends.

"Why don't you tell us where Heather Woodland is?" He changed the topic before losing his composure in front of him and Novilene.

"Woodland... isn't she the girl that went missing a couple days ago?"

"Get him out of here." Gideon stands up and walking out of the kitchen room.

Novilene gives the Policemen officer a look to leave them alone for a second as he nods in agreement for giving them a space. She stands across the table towards Slessman and leaning the chair.

"You can fool anyone but you cannot fool me." Novilene spoke in her cold tone and Slessman flinch in her because of her cold demeanor. She didn't notice the young Agent Doctor is eavesdropping their conversation. "We're running out of time and mark my words that we'll find her... Slessman, you're hiding something from us, I wonder why."

"It's not hard to get mistaken that you're his daughter." Slessman avoided her question and she smirked coldly.

"I quite get that a lot... you're not the only one who kidnapped Woodland." Slessman widening his eyes in a surprised look but immediately went into a blank expression. "Your behavior is different and there's no way that you're by yourself to kidnapped her, alone." Novilene steps back and her gaze never leaves his squirm. "You're better than him... if you still have some goodness within you, tell us who, when and where this guy is."

Novilene called the Policemen officer to watch over Slessman and immediately looking for her father. Deep inside she knew her father is still having the grief of his past and she's also the same as him. She approached Hotch and Gideon as they both stopped seeing her figure.

"I talked to him right after you left, dad." Novilene spoke and her gaze never leaves in their direction. "He just cracked his emotion when I asked him that he's not the only one who kidnapped Woodland."

"How did you know Cruz?" Hotch asked her in a surprised tone whereas Gideon smiled proudly at his daughter.

"Slessman is smart but he's not the only killer who kidnaps Woodland. He has someone to involve the kidnapping and this other unsub is the dominant one... authoritative and arrogant." She sighs softly and shrugging slightly.

"I told you she's smart and never underestimate her ranking for being the Captain in London Metropolitan Police." Gideon approached her and kissed her on the forehead which resulted from a blushed from Novilene. "I'm proud of you, Mulan."

"Thanks, dad." Novilene smiled while blushing while Hotch stared at them with a serene expression.

Hotch finally see how Gideon immediately calms down when his daughter is being close to him. He hasn't seen Gideon this soft side before because he always been guarded up. If Novilene will reject his offer, Hotch will try again to recruit her.

She's The One

Novilene is joining Elle and her father to search more clues by finding the second unsub. She glances discreetly around her to see any suspicious. Novilene remembered her stepbrother, Ethan Hunt, to always be vigilant all the time and never let your guard down.

"Anyone who can tell us more about Slessman?" Gideon asked one of the Agent.

"Tim Vogel was the security guard covering Slessman's block." The Agent answered and looked down to see a bunch of criminals. "That's him over there. I'll get him for you." He leaves them alone as Elle approached the father and daughter.

"That was Hotch. Linder's name came up in a police report." Elle answered in her solemn expression.

"And?"

"He's dead." Novilene breathes out heavily and biting her lips lightly. "Car accident, 2 months ago. Linder is dead."

"Linder is out of our list and we need to find out who our second unsub is... fast." Novilene spoke up as she clenching and unclenching her fist by calming herself down.

The three of them were escorted by the guard to the exit since they have no lead so far. Novilene noticed sighs quietly and Gideon giving her a look not giving up because she can still help them to solve the case faster.

"Too bad you guys came here for nothing. I mean, talk about scum. I can't remember how many times I put Linder in solitary for causing trouble with us." The security guard told when he didn't notice the look of the young woman observing his keys especially his body language is filled with nervous. "You'd think the inmates would try to stay on our good side, right? Especially since half our job is protecting them from each other."

"You protect them?" Gideon asked curiously towards the guard and Novilene can't help but feel suspicious on their guard.

"If you're a little white guy? Especially in a prison like this." He continued to unlock the gates.

"Linder's 6'4. You talking about Slessman?" Novilene asked curiously as Elle and Gideon already figuring it out who the second unsub is.

"Yeah." The security guard muttered and finally unlocking the gates.

"Thanks for your help." She fake smile and the three of them leave the prison.

The three of them getting out of the prison and starting to think about the guard, who's leading them out of the prison.

"He's a friend of Richard. He protected him. He will feel like he owes him." Gideon explained to the two ladies.

"He fits the profile and did you see them?" Elle asked the father and daughter.

"The keys." Novilene answered and staring at them. "We will follow him and I have a feeling that he's the one who hides Woodland." She crosses her arm and furrowed her eyebrows. "Knowing this guy, he's starting to have suspicious on us now since we found our second kidnapper."

She's The One

Novilene, Elle and Gideon are following the guard name Timothy Vogel their second unsub. She called Hotch to explained everything to him since Gideon force her to do it for unknown reasons.

"Sir, I've just found your leverage. His name is Timothy Vogel." Elle starting the car engine and following their kidnapper.

"Good job, Captain Cruz. Keep in touch." Hotchner congratulate her and ended up the call.

Novilene's phone rings again to see her older brother, Ethan is calling his younger sister. She accepts the call and pressing it on her ear.

"Hey, Ethan... as much as I would love to talk with you, I'm busy right now." Elle stared at the rearview mirror to stared at the young woman and wondering who Ethan is while Gideon smiled remembering the man who's very overprotective brother towards his daughter.

"I thought you're off today, sis." Ethan told her in a confused tone that he's in the London to meet up with her today.

"I know, brother... but the Federal Agents needs my help and I'm at the Seattle with my dad." Novilene sighs heavily and rubbing her head that's starting to form a headache because of lack of sleep. "I'll call you later when the case is over, brother."

Elle blinked in surprised that the young woman has a sibling and another son of Gideon. She didn't even know that Ethan and Novilene are stepsiblings as they cared each other deeply despite not related by blood.

"Be careful and stay safe, my baby sister." Ethan spoke in a serious tone knowing she often to push herself too hard.

"I will, love you, Ethan." Novilene ended up the call and they are following Vogel.

"There's something wrong." Elle stated when she stared at the car. "We gotta pull him over. I can feel it."

"You wanna know the word repeated more than any other in your file?" Gideon asked Elle as she glances at him slightly. "Impatient."

"You wanna stop him, you give me a reason." In a serious tone while Novilene knows why he doesn't trust Elle because she's a stranger to him.

"His behavior. When he left, he was nervous, unsettled. But now he's stopping at every stop sign. He's using his blinker at every turn. He's slowing at yellow lights. This is not someone who is rushing to kill and dump a body." Elle explained while Novilene smirked that she gets the right track.

"Do it." Elle started to put on the police siren as the car slows down for them.

The three of them getting out of the car readying their guns as they approach the Vogel slowly.

"FBI. Put your hands up where we can see them!" Elle ordered him in a stern tone and Novilene wanted to correct her that she's a cop, not a Federal Agent but decided to drop it for now. "Put your hands through the window now! Now!" They stared at each other when Vogel raise his hands up outside of the window. "All right, with your left hand, I want you to open the car door from the outside." Vogel opened it as Elle grab the man and pushing him down then Novilene blink in surprised that it is not Vogel.

"He created a diversion." Novilene spoke out loud from her thoughts when Vogel switch someone to lure them away from him. She clicked her tongue in annoyance then asking the unknown man. "Where is he?" She asked the man in her cold tone.

"Where's Vogel?" Elle asked the man while she's pinning him down.

"I don't know!" The man answered and crying out in pain by Elle's grasp.

"What are you doin' driving his car!?" Gideon asked the man.

"He came up to me in the garage after our shift ended. He asked if he could borrow my truck!"

"What kind of truck?"

"He's dumping the body." Elle spoke out her theory while Novilene gripping her gun tightly.

"What's the make? What's the make!?" Novilene asked the man in her stern tone.

"Dodge! Dodge Dakota!" The man answered them.

The three of them immediately ride in the car when Gideon's phone ring to see Morgan is calling him as he accepted the call and putting on the speaker to let the two woman hear it.

"Gideon, Heather's alive." Morgan told them as they stared each other in a confused expression.

"How do you know?" Gideon asked Morgan.

"Cause we're watching her right now." Novilene breathes out heavily and her hands turned cold that they're running out of time before Vogel could dump Woodland's body.

"Good job and keep us update." He ends their conversation and starting to call Hotch. "Hotch, he's gonna kill her. He's heading there now. We need a location."

"I don't have enough time to get it out of him." Hotchner explained to them in his distressed tone.

"Find something, Hotch, or that girl is dead." He ends the call and Novilene immediately raise her hand towards his direction. "What is it, Novilene?"

"I need to call Morgan and asked some questions, now." Gideon immediately hands his phone towards her and she called Morgan.

"Gideon, what is it?" Morgan asked while he and Reid watching the laptop.

"It's me, Cruz. I need you to do me a favor." Novilene answered with a serious expression.

"What is it?"

"Look closely at the pictures that give us any clues to find out where Woodland is." Novilene explained to Morgan that she mentally curse for not being with them. "If you have the answers, call Hotchner and he'll get answers from Slessman to tell him what you guys found."

"The light bulb hanging from the wire?" Novilene heard Reid's voice that he's with Morgan.

"Yeah, what about it?" Morgan asked the young man.

"It's shifting positions like it's swaying... like the earth is tilting."

"Not the earth, doc. The ocean. Cruz, how on earth did-"

"Just do what I say. We're running out of time." She ends up the call and handing the phone to her dad. "They already find out the clues and Woodland would be either pier or a dock or a shipyard."

"Heather is on a boat but it'll take a long time to search for her." Elle pointed out towards the young woman.

"I may not know Hotchner very well but... he's the only man who could get answers from Slessman." Novilene stared at the window and trying herself to shake off her drowsiness.

She's The One

Novilene, Gideon and Elle are in the Allied Shipyard to save Woodland and captured Vogel. The three of them separated themselves as Novilene jump over the boat silently and walking slowly while holding her gun. She hides behind the barrel to see Vogel is holding the girl in front of him while he pointed his gun at her.

"Stop!" Vogel exclaimed at Gideon's direction when he didn't notice Elle is across from him and Novilene behind his back. "I'll shoot her."

"I wouldn't." Gideon spoke in a low tone but loud enough to hear his voice. Novilene stared at Elle's direction that she'll shoot Vogel while she saves the girl as Elle nodded her head in agreement. "If I were you, I'd aim the gun at me. You shoot the girl, you got nothing."

"Get... back!"

"Shoot me instead. Come on. What, are you a lousy shot?" Gideon mocked Vogel and raising his hands in a surrender position. "50 feet away. You got a perfect shot. Shoot me."

"You think I'm stupid?"

"I think you're an absolute moron. I know all about ya, Tim." Novilene breathes heavily and thinking her father is insane of mocking the kidnapper. "You're at the gym 5 times a week. You drive a flashy car, you stink of cologne, and you can't get it up. Not even viagra's workin' for ya. You know what that tells me? That tells me you are hopelessly compensating, and it's not just in your head. It is physical. What did the girls call you in high school? What'd they come up with when you fumbled your way into some girl's pants, and she started laughing when she got a good look at just how little you had to offer?"

"Shut up!" Vogel yelled angrily.

"Short stack? Very little Vogel? I got it. Tiny Tim."

Vogel shoved Woodland and shoot Gideon's shoulder as Elle shoots at him as Novilene immediately grab Woodland behind her then immediately soothing her.

"No! No!" Woodland exclaimed and trying to shove Novilene but she gripped her hard.

"It's fine! You're fine! It's over, Heather. Shh..." Novilene comforts the girl when Woodland sobbing her shoulder as she rubbing her back. "Let's remove this chain off you, okay?"

Woodland weakly nodded her head as Novilene grabbed her hairpin that's been used for her side bangs. She uses the hairpin to remove the lock on the chain around her neck. Novilene stared at Elle and Gideon giving them a nod that she can take care of Woodland.

Novilene sighs in relief that the case is already over and her father's health is not in grave danger. She stroke Woodland's head and calming the girl down.

She's The One

Novilene smiled when her father is talking to Woodland before the Paramedics are taking her to the hospital. She doesn't even care if she has dark eyebags because of lack of sleep. Novilene smiled and waved at Woodland when the girl stared at her direction as she returned a weak smile.

"Captain Cruz." Novilene hum and turning around to face Hotch in her tired expression. "When was the last time you get some sleep, Cruz?"

"I've been awake for 48 hours now." Novilene answered and shrugged. "Right after I finished the case, Agent Davies needed my help... yeah, here I am."

"You've been pushing yourself too hard, Cruz and I would like to thank you for helping us to capture Vogel and Slessman." Novilene smiled and pushing her glasses up. "Gideon told me that you're planning to quit your job, why?"

"Hmm... personal reasons and looking for an answer what my purpose is" She stared at the ocean in calm expression while he frowned at her vague answer. "I graduate at the very young age with no eidetic memory like Dr. Reid."

"What's your IQ?" Hotchner asked her curiously then she stared at him.

"180. You're not here to congratulate me, are you, Agent Hotchner." Novilene tilted her head at him. "Does my dad force you to persuade me by joining your team?"

"No." Novilened stared at him in curious expression. "Morgan told me what you did back then and I've never seen someone like you becoming a Captain at the very young age... you're extremely observant and it's like you almost know what will happen next."

"Based on my skills, you wanted me to be part of your BAU?" She asked and he nodded his head. "I politely decline the offer, Agent Hotchner."

"Why, Cruz?" Hotchner asked in disbelief tone and he didn't expect she can be hard to persuade with. "Does someone offering you a job?"

"No." Novilene answered and shaking her head slightly. "I'll be helping my best friend to watch over her because she's 6 months pregnant."

"Why do I get the feeling that's not the only reason, Cruz."

"It's actually hard to explain." Novilene looked away from him and starting to walk away. "Tell my dad that I'll be heading back to London now." She leave the man alone in his deep thoughts.

"Did she say yes?" Hotchner looked away from her and stared at Morgan. "She'll be a great asset to join us."

"We need her information and figuring it out why she quit her job and rejecting the offer." Hotchner explained it to his friend as Morgan shaking his head that they'll be doing it behind her back.

"Gideon will kill us especially we're talking about her daughter." Morgan pointed out and don't want to face their wrath.

"I'll take my chances. She hides something from us and knowing Gideon? He knew his daughter and won't share her background."

They decided to convince her to join their team because of her skills.
