"Speak of the devils!" Isami flinched at the blonde's choice of words as she and Haruhi, she learned the boy's name while at the supermarket, walked into the music room. She was frightened at how much the brunette reminded her of her twin, who freakishly had the same name. "Thanks for doing the shopping, little piglets! Did you get everything on the list?"
"Devil..." Isami muttered quietly, clutching the shopping bag closer to her chest as Haruhi asked confused,
"What...? Piglet?" His eye brow twitched and he looked at Isami questioning, "Is he serious?" The girl merely shrugged, not really knowing herself. She and Haruhi strolled over to Tamaki and dumped the Instant Coffee into his palm.
"Hey, wait a minute..." He stared dumbly at the label. "What is this?"
"Just what it looks like," Haruhi replied bluntly from our spots behind the couch. ",it's coffee."
"I've never seen this kind before, is this the kind that's already ground?" He questioned, legs crossed and left arm swing to rest on the roof of the couch. Both Isami and Haruhi raised an eyebrow at that.
"What do you mean?" Haruhi asked confused. Isami finished her thought, curious at what he was talking about,
"It's Instant Coffee. Did you hit your head or...?" She finished her statement and trailed off, making it sound like a question.
"No..." Tamaki replied uncertainly. The girls sitting on the couch in front of them tilted their head.
"It's instant?" They asked. Tamaki quickly grew excited and uncrossed his legs, holding the container with both hands as he stared at it wide-eyed.
"Whoa! I heard of this before, it's Commoner's Coffee!" Isami blinked dumbly. "You just add hot water!"
Commoner's...Coffee? A voice quickly rang in her head, a deep one.
"Relax, Commoner! It's not as if we're gonna let them get a hold of you again! Man, who'd think they'd still stone people to death?"
"One hundred grams for three hundred yen?" The same voice asked, older, and right next to Isami's ear. The girl's head shot over to the rude ginger twin and stared at him wide-eyed.
"That's a lot less then we normally pay." A voice that sounded similar, yet higher continued. Isami turned her head to see the nicer twin, again, next to her. Her face turned slightly red at the close proximity of the two, not used to such close contact. Well, unless physically harmful contact counts...
"Fine! I'll go back and get something else!" Haruhi snapped. "S'cuse me for not getting you expensive coffee." Isami's eyes widened and her face burned, eyes widening with slightly fear at their mistake. She flinched and apologized, bowing, only to hit her head, only making her apologize more.
"I'm sorry! Sorry, sorry-we'll go back and get some more-" She flinched as he head banged against the couch "-sorry! I didn't mean too hit the-!" Tamaki shut the girl up by raising a hand. She instinctively flinched. Hunny and Mori just stared at the girl, realization filling their gazes.
(Two light bulbs flickered and turned on)
"No, it's fine. I'll drink it." Everyone's gaze turned back to Tamaki in shock. He stood up and placed a hand on his hip. "I'm going to give it a try." Everyone gasped, in awe at his bravery this time. He held the container in the eyes exclaiming loudly, "I will drink this coffee!" Everyone but Kyoya gaped and clapped. "Alright Haruhi, Isami, get over here and make some of this Commoner's Coffee." Isami nodded slowly while Haruhi groaned.
I hate all these damn rich people. Haruhi thought, glaring at them from the corner of his eyes. Isami let out a small sighed and hung her head, bangs falling into her eyes again.
To order and obey. For once my intuition was wrong...Damn jerks.
"Now, Tamaki, you're taking the joke too far." A pretty girl, Isami could instantly tell that the girl was a snob, with red hair and dark violet eyes started. "Your palette won't be able to stomach that crap." Isami stared at the girl and raised a brow, annoyed greatly. The girl set down the cup of tea she was drinking and turned it gently on the tea holder. "You don't have to drink it, just because they bought it." Haruhi glanced down at the girl confused and she turned to face us, giving us a fake closed-eye smile. "I'm sorry, I was talking to myself." Isami frowned.
I doubt that. I recognize that tone anyway and that fake expression.
"Uhh..." Haruhi didn't know what to say.
"Haruhi~! Isami~!" Isami quickly skirted off to that direction while Haruhi muttered an annoyed,
"I'm comin'." By the time he walked over, Isami was already tapping the spoon lightly against the side of the cup to get rest of the coffee ground off. Haruhi filled the last two cups and Isami poured the hot water in. We held up the trays and stated in perfect harmony,
"Here." Drink it and weep, folks.
"Let the tasting begin." Tamaki stated with a charming smile, sparkles floating around him.
"I'm a little scared to drink this stuff." A girl with long dark hair and wearing a bit too much lipstick stated, staring distastefully at the cup of coffee she held in her hands. Isami frowned.
It's not like it's poisoned or anything... A girl with dirty blonde hair stared worriedly into her cup.
"I'm afraid that my father will yell at me if I drink this stuff." She admitted. Tamaki quickly wrapped an arm around her waist and dipped her, her leg high in the air, and held her face close to his as he whispered,
"What if I let you drink it from my mouth?"
"Well, then I would drink it!" The girl giggled nervously, her face bright red. The girls around us squealed loudly and Isami flinched, wishing she could cover her ears, but then she might get yelled out.
"This is ridiculous." Haruhi bluntly told the girl, annoyed at the Host Club. I sighed and took the left over tea to head over to the twin's table while Haruhi went to Mori and Hunny's. I could hear their conversation as I walked.
"-he had a nightmare that made him bolt right out of bed!" Hikaru finished laughing, one of his feet propped on his chair cushion. Kaoru's face turned bright red as he glared.
"Hikaru! You promised you wouldn't tell them that story!" He gained a sad betrayed look and sat back down in his chair, a finger up to his lips as he gazed off to the sight, face red. "I asked you not to tell them that..." His eyes watered and I blinked as I neared their table. Some tears fell as he asked, "Why are you so mean to me?" I froze up and stopped walking at the memory.
"U-Uncle Ben, why-why are you so mean to me!? I was going to do the d-dishes, I-I just didn't see the time-don't hurt me anymore, please!" Smack! His nails cut her skin as his hand left a bright red hand print on her right cheek. It would most likely bruise. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I didn't think you'd be home so-!" WHACK! Her body hit the ground with a sickening thud, her side scraping against the carpet and scraping her skin. She cried out and bit her lip, whimpering slightly. No one would hear her scream, no one ever will. They were in a sound proof room, but that didn't mean she wanted to give him the satisfaction of hearing her scream. "-soon..." She coughed and blue eyes glared at her hatefully.
"Hey, you alright?" Isami snapped out of her thoughts and found her vision was blurry. She blinked and it cleared, confusion forming on her face as something wet fell down her cheeks. "Why're you crying?" Isami stared confused into the golden brown orbs that captivated her vision, a thumb gently wiping away the tears that were forming on her pale face. A lump formed in the brunette's throat and she swallowed, asking the question that formed,
"Wh-what?"
"You're crying." The ginger stated. She the took notice at how he was the nice twin. He was...
"Kaoru, right?" Isami asked curiously, tilting her head. The thumb on her cheek froze and she saw his shoulders tense. "I was...remembering a not-so pleasant memory. I'd rather not talk about it. Though, I will say that those were some nice fake tears you were pulling back there. It was cute." A faint blush spread across the twin's cheeks at the compliment. "Right, well-um, tea?" Isami swallowed again and forced a smile, trying to push the memory to the back of her mind.
"Kotoko should've been mine! But your bastard of a father took her from me! ME!"
More images flashed as Kaoru slowly took a cup of tea.
"I'm sorry! Please s-stop! I'll do the chores on time now-I-I promise! Swear!"
He cast the frozen brunette girl a worried look, seeing how more tears were forming as she stared off into space.
"You ungrateful brat!"
He watched as she mouthed the words, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry-please don't hurt me." Repeatedly and his chest tightened, anger boiling up in him slightly. He knew she was Isami Fujioka, his and Hikaru's best friend in middle school. Whoever hurt her will pay- and he had a feeling it was the person that took her away.
"Isami." Kaoru stated, looking intently at her. She still stared off into space, eyes misting over a bit. "Isami." He stated this a bit more firmly. A flinch, but no reply. He tightened his lips and he growled, "Ishi." The girl's head shot up, eyes wide as she looked around wildly, her gaze stopping on him.
"What's you name? What! Why won't you tell us!? Guess? Akari. Sango. Rin. Kira? Fine...Ishi? Close? Fine. I'll call you Ishi until you tell us your real name! Got it, Ishi?"
"My name doesn't mean stone, stupid."
"Yeah? Then what is it?"
"Not telling."
"Ishi it is, then."
"Whatever..."
"What'd you say?" Isami asked confused, furrowing her brows. Kaoru stared at her and lied, saying,
"I said, "Isami, this tea is really good." It was true, he added silently, the tea was good. She nodded slowly.
"Oh...good. I'll take this to the table then..." She quickly stalked away, trying to get away from the twin. She took notice at how the memories happened more frequently around the twins then anything, so she was going to avoid them. She quickly placed the cups of tea on the table, ignoring Hikaru's surprised glance, and stalked away before leaning against a wall and sighing, defeated. "I'm beat..."
"You two'll notice that the club utilizes different characteristics of the desires of the guests." Isami heard Kyoya say from close by to Haruhi, and most likely talking to her too. Isami blinked and looked up, realizing Kyoya and Haruhi were closer than she thought. About 3 feet away to be exact. Isami blinked.
"You know this because...?" She trailed off as Kyoya pushed up his glasses, eyes glinting.
"It's my job, of course." He replied. "And just so you know, Tamaki's number one around here. He's the king. His request rate is seventy percent.
"What's this world coming too?" Haruhi asked, holding a pink rabbit.
"And in order for you both to pay off your debts, you will act as the Ouran Host Club's dogs until you both graduate." Kyoya stated, looking at the two look-alikes. He smiled a shit-eating grin and apologized, "Oh, I'm sorry. I mean errand boys. You can try to run away, but just so you both know, my family has a military force of one hundred officers." He fixed his glasses again and Isami paled, if that was possible. "By the way, do either of you have a pass port." Translation: You won't be able to leave the country.
"You're going to have to work hard to pay off that debt!" Tamaki said out of no where. "My little nerds." He blew on Haruhi's neck, causing him to scream and jump forward a few feet and nearly ram into me. He rubbed his neck and glared at Tamaki. "Please don't do that again."
"You both need makeovers or no girl's going to look twice at you." Isami and Haruhi blinked, turning to face Tamaki.
"Yeah, well, I'm not trying to get girl's to look at me." Haruhi replied. Tamaki gained a face of disbelief.
"Are you kidding me?" He pulled out a red rose from nowhere. "That's the most important thing! You're supposed to learn to be a gentlemen and please the ladies! Like me." He winked and smiled at them, showing off his white teeth. Isami merely blinked and bluntly stated,
"I don't really think that's important. Or necessary." Tamaki faltered and his eyes widened, looking at her surprised. "Besides, why should I care about looks?" Haruhi and Isami spoke in unison with the next sentence. "All that matters is what's on the inside, right?" They looked up at the blonde.
"I don't even understand why you have a Host Club like this." Haruhi stated, sighing.
"It's a cruel reality, isn't it?" Tamaki asked, missing the point completely. Haruhi and Isami gained annoyed faces and glared at him from the corner of their eyes. "It's not often God creates such a perfect person like mwa." Tamaki hugged himself, smiling brightly. "Beautiful both inside and out."
"There is no God."
"Say what?" Haruhi asked after Isami's blunt statement. Tamaki was in his own little world.
"I understand that not everyone is as blessed as I, but you must console yourself. How else would either of you go on living?" Isami sweatdropped.
This guy is nuts..
"You two are crazy, you know that, right? A pair of crazy ginger twins with people problems!" A younger version of Isami's voice rang out in said girl's head. It was amused, showing she was entertained. The brunette blinked and shook her head as Tamaki continued to rant.
"Obnoxious." Haruhi stated, placing his fist on his palm. Isami burst out laughing and honestly, it hurt her throat. Tamaki turned to stone, his eyes twitching, before heading into a corner to grow mushrooms. "Uh-I'm sorry, Tamaki-Sempai." He apologized. The twins appeared beside the two look-alikes and laughed. They placed their elbows on Haruhi's heads, laughing along with Isami.
"You're a hero alright!" The one of the left said. Hikaru, I think. Isami thought, look up at them, pausing in her laughter.
"I'm sorry Sempai." Haruhi apologized after a few moments and scratched the back of his head. We looked at him. "But you're lesson did strike a small chord with me." Isami blinked and muttered,
"I wasn't even listening." She blinked in surprised when the twins laughed and hooked their arms with hers. "H-Hey, what're you two doing!?" The twins glanced at each other before look down at Isami, grinning identical twins. Isami gulped, having a sinking feeling in her gut that she saw the same grin some time before. The question was...when?
"You're going to be our new toy!" Isami blinked dumbly. What? Isami pouted childishly. Tamaki stopped moping and stood up, twirling a little and extended his arm out to us.
"Really? Let me teach you more, my friends."
"Well he got over that quick." Haruhi stated quietly while Isami commented annoyed,
"He adjusted quickly."
"Boss," Kaoru began, from Isami's right.
"Call me King." Tamaki ordered, fingers twitching.
"You can teach them all the basics of hosting," Kaoru continued. Hikaru finished,
"But they're not going to get very far with the ladies if they don't look the part you know." He walked in front of Haruhi, while Kaoru moved in front of Isami. Isami flinched at how close they were, but held his gaze- her bangs falling into her face. "They're not really Host Club material, but maybe if we took off Haruhi's glasses," He grabbed the thick rimmed glasses, drawing a "Huh" from Haruhi, and Isami flinched as Kaoru's hand moved towards her face.
"And move Isami's hair, it'll help." His fingers brushed against the brunette's forehead and pushed the hair out of the way. Isami slowly opened her eyes and stared into Kaoru's golden brown orbs. Hikaru stared at Haruhi's face, eyes widening drastically. They stared at us wide-eyed.
"Hey, I need those!" Haruhi growled, glaring. "I used to have contacts but I lost them on the first day of school!"
"You need contacts too?" Isami questioned curiously. Her days in the dark soundproof room messed with her vision. Isami never broke gazes with Kaoru, but she had a strange feeling bubbling up in her stomach. Her intuition told her that she gazed into identical golden brown orbs like those before, and she believed it. Tamaki then stormed up and pushed Hikaru and Kaoru out of the way, breaking their gaze, and stared at us. He gasped, eyes widening, before going completely serious and snapping his fingers.
"Hikaru, Kaoru." They ran up and grabbed the two by the arms shouting in unison,
"Right!" The two screamed as they were dragged away. Tamaki pointed at Kyoya,
"Kyoya, my hair stylist." Kyoya was already on the phone and talking. Tamaki looked at Mori,
"Mori, you go to the eye doctor and get those two some contacts!" Mori broke out into a run.
"What about me, Tama-Chan?" Hunny asked, looking up cutely at Tamaki. The blonde pointed at the smaller blonde.
"Hunny-Sempai...Go eat some cake."
Isami stared at Kaoru as he held out a black boy uniform. She looked at him confused. "I thought it was-"
"I had it dyed, figured you'd like the color better." Kaoru told her. Isami was still surprised. In her last school, she died her uniform black, because she didn't like the ugly color. He walked over and stuffed the uniform in her arms. "Now hurry up and get changed." He walked out the room just as they heard Haruhi shout,
"FINE I'LL CHANGE! BUT YOU HAVE TO GET OUT!" Isami's eyes widened as she look at the changing room next to her. Was Haruhi...a girl? She shook her head, deciding not to think about it, and quickly got changed. The Hairstylist already cut her bangs and trimmed her hair, so it was a bit higher than mid-back now. Isami stared at herself in the mirror.
She had brushed her hair, so it was straight and less messy, and it stopped just above her mid-back, with neatly trimmed bangs. She'd be defined as "cute" by most people, but nothing near "beautiful". If anything, Isami wasn't even cute, even by her standards. Her skin was a deathly pale, and her hair color just made her look even paler. It saddened her really, because she loved her hair. It always reminded her of her mother, Kotoko. She had the same shade, if not lighter. She quickly changed into the male uniform and her intuition told her that they all thought she was a boy. It made sense, really. Sad, but true.
"Uh...Sempai?" Isami heard Haruhi ask. Tamaki's voiced rang out from behind the changing curtains.
"Aren't you two done changing yet?" Isami made a face as she struggled with the tie, not really knowing how to tie one. Haruhi opened the curtains and asked,
"Are you sure it's really okay for me to keep this uniform?" Haruhi questioned. Isami ignored the rest of the conversation as she growled, trying to tie the stupid tie.
Why won't it tie correctly!? It can't be that hard! It's just a tie-then again, Uncle Ben does have problems too... Isami frowned and paused in her fixing the orange and blue tie.
"Isami, you done yet?" Hikaru's voice rang out. She ignored him and fiddled with the tie again. She heard him groan and he quickly tossed the curtains aside, revealing her struggling form. He began to chuckle and she tensed, turning her head slowly towards him. "Your...You don't know how to tie a tie?" Translation: You poor, poor commoner. Not even knowing how to tie a tie...so sad. Isami gave him a slight glare, making him chuckle even louder. He calmly stepped into the changing room, closing the curtain behind-causing enraged shouts of protests from Tamaki- and walked towards. Isami, out of reflex, flinched and instinctively took a step back. She had a feeling that he wouldn't hurt her, but the bad memories running through her head wouldn't let her relax.
Hikaru raised his hands and stepped closer to the girl, so that their chests were almost brushing against each other, and started to fix her tie. She watched in interest as he tied it. Once he was done he grinned and commented, "Much better, commoner." He received a glare and he laughed, "Kidding, come on!" He gripped her wrist and dragged her out, pushing the curtains aside.
"So cute~!" Tamaki gushed, looking at the brunettes. His hands were placed on his cheeks, tears running down his face. "You're as pretty as a girl! Adorable!"
"You guys look so cute!" Hunny stated, squealing.
"If we known this is how'd you look," Hikaru began, grinning madly. Kaoru finished,
"We would've helped you out sooner." Uniform: 300, 000 yen. Including Dye: 360, 000. Kyoya smirked and pushed up his glasses as Haruhi fixed his tie.
"Who knows, maybe they'll draw in some customers." Tamaki smiled and held up a finger saying,
"You know, that was just what I was thinking!" Isami snickered and muttered quietly,
"Bull crap." Everyone except for Tamaki heard her and gave her amused looks. Tamaki pointed at the two brunettes.
"Our errand boys are moving up the ranks! Starting from today, both of you are official members of the Host Club!" Haruhi stepped back as Isami's eyes widened and she tensed, standing up straight. "I will personally train you, Haruhi, to be a first rate Host! The twins, Isami, will help you! If you get one hundred customers to request you each, I will forget about your debts."
"A host?" Haruhi questioned, sweat beading down his face while Isami looked like she was about to faint.
"...W-What?"
"So, Isami-why'd you join the Host Club?" A girl with blonde hair and blue eyes asked. Next to her on her right with dark hair and purple eyes asked,
"What products do you use to make your skin glow like that?" She inquired curiously, eyes gleaming. "Your skin looks so soft, and your hair! So silky and shiny!"
"So you have any hobbies?" Another with red hair that stopped below her shoulder and green eyes asked. She smiled happily. "Do you play any instruments?"
"Huh? Oh I-I uh, I can play Ocarina, my personal favorite," It was a gift from the twins she forgot, "flute, piano, recorder...Oh, I also love to write. I got it from my mother, she used to tell me and sister stories all the time..." Isami gained a sad, longing look on her face and in her eyes. "She...she got really sick one day and she just..." Isami swallowed and clenched her fists, her bangs falling over her eyes. The girls glanced at the Host curiously. ",she just died. My twin and I were really young when it happened, so I don't really remember much. But I do remember seeing her smile at us...and the funeral." Isami swallowed the lump in her throat. "People dressed in black everywhere, our father was crying nonstop and holding our hands tightly...The priest or whatever was making his speech when my sister burst out crying. I was always the oblivious one." Isami had this sinking feeling in her gut that she told the same story once before. "I asked what was wrong...she said, "Mommy's gone, she's never coming back." Tears pricked the brunette's eyes and the girl's faces were sad and sympathetic. "I asked father what she meant by that...I don't remember what he said exactly, but I remember him look sadly down at me and I broke down crying after that. It was all ten years ago." Isami swallowed the lump in her throat and glanced down at her shaking fists that were clutching her pants legs tightly.
"I see..." The read head, Akari, said sadly. She cast Isami a sympathetic look. "Who does the chores around the house?"
"I-I do them." If I didn't, my Uncle would beat me.
"What about your sister?" Aliza, the blonde, questioned curiously. A shadow crossed over Isami's face and her chest tightened in pain.
"She...We were separated when we were ten; I haven't seen them since. I've been living with my Uncle Ben. So I do pretty much all the chores around the house. I can cook and clean, but I really prefer to cook. I always try to remember my mother's recipes, 'cause I used to watch her cook and asked her all sorts of questions." A sad smile grew on her face. "Why'd you add so much milk? How much butter and sugar did you put in? Why teaspoons?" She laughed halfheartedly. "Before she went into the hospital, she gave me and my sister her recipes. We had fun creating them, and I always cheered when they tasted good. She'd laugh and tell me to put the pots and pans in the sink while she got out the bowls and plates and silverware. Life was so much fun back then...I've...I've been through a lot, but I've made it out okay, right?" Isami gave them a closed-eyes smile.
"Can-can we request to sit with you tomorrow!?" Ai, the black haired girl, blurted out. Isami opened her eyes surprised and looked at them.
"S-Sure! I'd like that-I'm so sorry!" Isami cried out, seeing the blonde wipe away a tear. "Please don't cry-!" Isami cut herself off, staring off into space as a memory entered her mind.
"Who are you talking too?" The pair of little boys asked. The little five year-old Isami blinked at the two gingers. (Isami was surprised, as she could actually make out their features this time)
"Both of you of course!" She replied confidently and fought down a giggle. These boy were so silly~! Then again, so was her own twin.
"You can't be talking to both of us." The boy with the higher voice replied, confused. The girl giggled and pointed at him saying,
"Okay then...I'm talking to Hikaru," She moved her arm to point at the other twin. ", and Kaoru!" The little boys' eyes watered and the girl flinched when they said in a monotone voice,
"You're wrong."
Tears pricked the little girl's eyes and she gasped, "I'm so sorry! Please don't cry!"
"Hey, Isami!" Kaoru called. The brunette snapped out of her reverie and blinked dumbly.
"Huh...?"
"Come over here, we want you to meet on of our guests!" Hikaru finished, staring at Isami confused. The brunette gasped and stood up, bowing and apologizing repeatedly to the girls, who giggled and waved her off. Isami nodded and took off into a room towards the twins, who instantly wrapped an arm, each, over her shoulders. The brunette blinked in surprise.
"Wh-What are you doing?"
"Your our toy," Hikaru began grinning, looking down at her. Kaoru finished,
"Remember?" He smirked and gestured with his free hand to the girl sitting down on the red couch with her legs crossed and hands placed delicately on her lap. She had long brown hair and bangs, with narrow green eyes. Isami blinked and a feeling grew, her intuition telling her not to trust this girl. As always, she agreed. "This is Kikyo Akahana. She's our regular guest." The brunette smiled at Isami and Isami had a feeling that, that smile...was fake. Isami went through her mind quickly and went with the first thing she thought of...
Smile and wave, girl, Smile and Wave. Isami did so, pulling a smile that caused the ginger twins to tense at, the twins more sure than ever that she was who they thought she was. But her hair was up... They'd need to see her with her head down. Isami waved awkwardly,
"H-Hi. Pleasure to meet you Miss Akahana." Next thing Isami knew, her face was smothered into Tamaki's chest.
"THAT WAS SO GOOD~! YOU AND HARUHI ARE AMAZING! THOSE CHARMING SMILES!" Isami screamed loudly and placed her hands on Tamaki's chest, lifting her head up and screaming,
"HIKARU, KAORU, HEELLPP!" And soon enough she was in the twins' arms, away from a twitching Tamaki that was lying on the ground. "...Thanks..."
"No problem." Hikaru replied. Tamaki quickly stood up and tried to get another hug, having to face the wrath of Kaoru. Isami completely missed the glare Kikyo was giving as Hikaru and Kaoru continued to protect her against the crazy blonde.
"Where are my books?" Isami asked herself quietly, looking around the hallway to see if she dropped them on the way towards the Host Club. "They shouldn't have gone too far..." She let out an annoyed sigh and looked out the huge window that was in the middle of the hallway. Her brown eyes widened and she gasped, running towards the window and pressing her palms against it. "What!? You gotta be kidding me, here too!?"
Are there bullies everywhere I go? She wondered, annoyed. She let out a sigh and turned towards the direction of the school where she could exit and broke out into a run, pausing halfway to the exit when she passes Kikyo who said,
"Oh, hello Isami." She greeted coldly. Isami stopped running and tensed. She smirked and turned her head to look at me, her bangs falling into place. She narrowed her green eyes at Isami coldly and stated, "I bet you love how the twins are all over you, holding you and protecting you from that silly King of theirs." Isami turned her head to stare at Kikyo, their gazes locking onto the other. "But you should remember how useless it is; After all, you're a commoner and they're Blue bloods. Not to mention they love only each other. I'd just give it up if I were, Fujioka." Isami blinked as Kikyo turned around and walked away, acting as if she owned the place and everybody in it. Isami narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists, nails digging into her palm and cutting the tender flesh. Some blood trailed down on her fingers, but she ignored it as she whirled around and headed towards the exit to get her library books. And her Ocarina that she put in the bag that she had with the books.
Not long after Isami was in the water and she already got all her books out. Now she was just trying to find the Ocarina her old friends gave her.
"Where is it?" She muttered and her hand scraped against a rock. Isami moved her hand away from it and felt around the water, trying to find it. "I knew I didn't trust that Kikyo chick. She had to have been the one who did this...I usually keep to myself, so I don't get why she hates me. I never have enemies except for my Uncle, but he doesn't really count since he's family and-" Isami was cut off by an amused voice.
"You realize that talking to oneself is the first sign of insanity, right?" Isami scowled and stood, crossing her arms as she turned the top part of her body slightly to give Hikaru a glare.
"No asked you, golden boy. Besides, I'm busy." He smirked and Kaoru walked over to the edge of the fountain, saying,
"Busy doing what? Skipping Club activities?" His smirk grew as her pale face was dusted with a light pink.
Still the same... He thought as he stared at the pale brunette. Kaoru continued, "The boss told us to come and get you while he fetched Haruhi."
"Haruhi?" She questioned confused and shook her head, dismissing the thought.
My Haruhi and that Haruhi are two completely different people. Besides, my Haruhi is a girl, that Haruhi is a boy. That the two girls were separated a long time ago. Besides, as far as she knew, Haruhi never made it to Ouran Academy. Isami sighed and ran a hand through her bangs. She took her hat off, so it wouldn't get wet, and placed it with her sopping wet books.
"Hey, why are you books all wet?" Hikaru questioned suddenly, narrowing his eyes. The twins' took notice at how she tensed up; she shook her head before explaining quickly, the honest part of her not letting her lie to the two people she "somewhat" consider friends.
"I was looking for my books and saw them dumped in the fountain when I looked out the window. I ran into Kikyo on my way out here." She shrugged carelessly before bending down again and searching through the water. The girl was half-tempted to just plop down and sit in the water in defeat, but her pride wouldn't let her, that and her heart knew how much the Ocarina meant to her, even if her mind didn't. "If I can just find my Ocarina..." She heard water splashing and looked up, blinking when she saw Hikaru and Kaoru standing in the water, shirtless, and moving their hands around in the water as if looking for something. Isami's eyes lowered down to their very well toned and muscled chests, her face turning a lovely cherry color, before looking away immediately, heart pumping fast.
Isami quickly shuffled around the water, only to trip over her own feet and fall towards the water. She flinched and held her breathe, closing her eyes as she awaited the cold hard impact of the water. Instead, she felt an arm slide it's way around her waist and pull her up, her back slamming against a chest. Isami tensed and opened her eyes, releasing her breathe in surprise. She blinked twice, three times. Then her face turned bright red. A hand moved in front of her face, holding a blue ocarina. Kaoru's voice rang out amused,
"This what you're looking for?" He asked and added a silent, The one we bought for your 14th birthday, the same year you vanished from us. He pushed the thought away, sadness forming on his handsome features. He blinked in surprise, eyes widening, when the Ocarina was yanked out of his grasp and Isami struggled to get him to let go. Kaoru loosened his hold and she stumbled forward, shouting in surprise for a moment as she tumbled before she caught her balance. She whirled around and wiped the Ocarina off with her sleeve, attempting to dry it. Once she was done, she held it up to her mouth and played a few notes of Bad Apple and grinned.
"It still works! Thanks, Kaoru- for, you know, catching me and finding it. Oh, you too Hikaru!" She turned to face Kaoru's brother with a goofy grin and laughed slightly. She held up her other and scratched the side of her head, tilting it slightly as she continued to give a closed-eyed goofy grin. "I don't know what I'd do without! It's kinda special to me, so, thanks!" She opened her eyes, revealing her milk chocolate orbs, and glanced back and forth between the brothers, smiling. "I honestly appreciate it, thank you."
Kaoru felt his heart beat faster at the familiar response. His face burned slightly, a light blush dusting over his cheeks, as he looked at her smiling face.
She should smile more often. She looks better with it than that frown she was constantly wearing earlier. Kaoru felt the corner of his lips twitch upwards, recalling from a faint memory that he once told her that before, when they where in Junior High. She was the only one who broke through their barriers, and it was way before they even met Tamaki Suoh.
Hikaru watched the two with a slight knowing look. He knew how his brother had felt towards the girl back in Middle School, it was no surprise that he still cared for her in such a way now. After all, it has been two years since she vanished and left without a trace. No Goodbye note, no phonecall, no nothing. She still has a way with both words and actions. I won't be surprised if she ends up having Kaoru wrapped around her finger...Kaoru, don't forget about me. Hikaru felt a small twinge of jealously, the jealousy he felt back when he realized how much time Kaoru spent with the girl after the first few months he known her. Hikaru ignored it, however, not wanting to get into another fight with his twin.
Isami ended up staring up at the younger Hitachiin twin curiously, confusion slowly etching it's way onto her face. She felt that she knew these boys from somewhere... Her guy feeling usually always ended up being correct. It was how she used to tell the twin brothers' apart when she first met the two gingers in Middle school, before she knew them well enough to tell them apart just by looking at them. And no, not the Hitachiin twins, the twins she who names she doesn't know.
"What's the matter?" Kaoru asked the staring girl curiously. He then gave her a mischievous grin. "Your not falling for me are you?" Isami's face burned and she turned her head, scoffing. Hikaru just watched the exchange silently, ignoring the jealously make itself know inside him.
"Che, as if, Kaoru! Be realistic, will ya!? I sweat, you two are always stuck in your own little world!" Her mouth started to work before her brain could catch up, so she started to rant without realizing what she was saying until after the speech. "You never let anyone into it and you always freaking push them away! You got some sort of gate surrounding you with so many locks that not even the greatest hacker can break through! Honestly, it's a wonder how I even understand you guys at all-!" She cut herself and covered her mouth, shocked and surprised at the words coming out of her mouth.
Hikaru and Kaoru were frozen, staring at the brunette girl in shock and slight anger, but they quickly forced the anger away before they snapped, seeing her befuddled face.
"...What the hell?" She asked herself quietly, not understanding at what was happening. Her face was pale, words echoing repeatedly in her head. And those words belonged to voices that sounded exactly like Hikaru and Kaoru.
"Happy birthday, you stupid Commoner, you know who we are!"
"How'd you know who I was even after I pretended to be Hikaru?"
"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE BREAKING THE LOCK LIKE THAT!? WHO EVER SAID YOU WERE WELCOME IN OUR WORLD!?"
"Hikaru, calm down! It's not like she did it on purpose!"
"I love you guys!" That voice belonged to Isami herself and it scared her. It frightened her to the bone. "Are you guys just scared of other people, or yourselves, because no one can ever tell you apart?"
"You're Hikaru and you're Kaoru-and don't even think about lying and saying your not! You want people to tell you apart, but you don't want them too, 'cause you're both a bunch of sissies! Man up, Hitachiin brothers! Hey-whoa, back off, not so close!"
"Just who the hell are you?"
"I'm Kaoru and no, I'm not lying. You can tell us apart, can't you?"
"Hey, let's get some ice cream-Be quiet, your a Commoner! You can't afford it, so I'll be buying!"
"I can too! I have enough-on second thought you can buy it. Thanks, Kaoru, really. I mean it."
"I'm so sorry...and I really do mean it. I...know what it's like to know be told apart from your twin. I...have one myself. But we had to go to different school's because of financial problem!" Isami groaned and placed a hand to her head, all the voices blending together.
"Isami...?" Kaoru asked. Hikaru stopped watching and ran towards them, catching the girl just as she fell backwards towards the water.
She woke up on a couch in the Host Club later that day.
NEXT DAY
"Oh, how terrible." Kikyo commented, voice sickly sweet. Isami just wanted to sock the girl across the face. "I'd have no clue what I would do if I ever got my library books thrown in the fountain pond."
She probably just wanted to throw it in my face that she was the one that did it. Isami bitterly thought. No matter where I go, there are always bullies. Though she was still curious, why did she wake up on the couch? Who carried her? Most likely one of the twins', but you never know.
"And you managed to convince the twins to search the stinky, dirty pond with you. How shocking." Her tongue clicked against her teeth in a disgusted fashion. "You do realize they're not Commoners, right? They're only hanging around you so they can turn you into something close to a gentleman, we all know it isn't going to get far before they dump you like trash." Isami's nails dug into her palms angrily as she tried to control her anger. Isami stated bluntly,
"You're jealous." Kikyo's eyes widened. "That's why you said all those things in the hallway and why you dumped my books into the fountain pond-!" Isami let out a surprised scream as the collars of her jacket was grabbed and she was pulled upwards, the table being knocked over as she fell on top of Kikyo.
Kikyo faked a scream. "HELP! Someone help me, Isami just attacked me! Help!" Isami stared wide-eyed at the brunette, not knowing what else to do. "Someone do something, please! Teach this Commoner some manners!"
Not even a second later they were drenched with water. Isami blinked twice before sitting up and moving off of Kikyo, staring up at the ginger twins.
"Hikaru...Kaoru?" She questioned confused. "What're you two doing?" Kikyo looked up at the twins alarmed before taking Hikaru's hand and standing up. She made to place her other hand on his arm, but he yanked it out of her grasp.
"Hikaru-!" He cut her off.
"I'm sorry, Kikyo, but you are no longer allowed in the Host Club." He was glaring, his golden brown orbs narrowed dangerously. "You are in fact a beautiful later, but the truth is, your an ugly monster full of envy in the inside."
Kaoru finished it off, with a frightening glare of his own, "We know it was you who threw her books into the pond." They finished in unison,
"I'm afraid that we can't let something like that happen to our toy and expect it to go unpunished." Tamaki strolled forward just as Kikyo ran past him screaming and crying,
"I hate you both! I'm glad no one can ever tell you apart!" The twins tensed for a moment before forcing themselves to relax. Isami stared at them curiously for a moment before switching her gaze to Tamaki who placed a hand to his chin.
"Now...what to do about you? It is your fault after all..." He laughed slightly. "Funny how the same thing happened to Haruhi just earlier today. Hmm...Guess I'll give you the same punishment. Your quota is now one thousand!" He declared, pointing a finger at Isami. Isami paled, if that was possible, and turned to stone. Tamaki then glanced a Kyoya, "Are the spare uniforms here yet? Haruhi is still sopping wet." Said person glared at the blonde, soaked to the bone, and held out his arms stating,
"It's not like I asked to get water dumped on me!" Kyoya held up two pink bags.
"These are the only spare uniforms we have left. Sorry, but it's better than a wet one, right?" He asked the two. Isami nodded slightly and gasped in surprise when arms suddenly grabbed hers and pulled her off the ground.
"Come on and get up, we have high expectations for you, toy!" Isami sweatdropped. Lovely, just what I needed. She thought.
IN THE CHANGING ROOMS
Isami was in the midst of pulling off her soaking wet tank top when Tamaki of all people, burst into the changing room, panic written all over his face. He took one glance at her long hair and purple tank top which revealed her rather small chest. (The final lightbulb turns on) Thus revealing, that Isami Fujioka, really was a girl.
"So Haruhi, Isami..."
"Yeah?"
"What's up?" Isami questioned curiously and she messed with the light blue girl's uniform. The twins, once again, took the liberty of dying the uniform.
"You girls?"
"Biologically speaking, yeah." They stated, blinking as they both pushed the curtain aside. Isami's hair fell down all the way to mid-back, and her bangs stopped right above her eyes. Haruhi was decked out in the regular yellow version. Tamaki screamed in confusion and anger, scratching his head harshly.
"Listen Sempai," Haruhi began, "I honestly don't care whether you think of me as a boy or girl." She finished tying the pink bow and crossed her arms. "I think it's more important to be recognized for who you are rather than what sex you are." Isami nodded in agreement.
"Haruhi, is right."
"Well, isn't this a interesting development?" Kyoya asked, arms crossed. Knew it from the start.
The twins looked at each other grinning, Mori and Hunny standing next to them. "Oh yeah." Found out along the way.
"I have to say, Sempai," Haruhi began, looking at Tamaki and holding up a finger, smiling. "I thought you were pretty cool earlier!" Tamaki stopped screaming and gasped, before placing a hand over his mouth, face turning bright red as he backed up a bit. His eyebrows twitched and Isami laughed.
"You're face is red, you realize that right? Thought, Haruhi is right." She stated in thought, a finger on her chin. She turned to the twins and smiled at them. "You guys were pretty awesome." Hikaru blinked in surprise and grinned, Kaoru smirked a little, though a small blush dusted it's way across his cheeks.
Kyoya turned his head and looked behind him at the screen, his brown eyes look directly at you, a smirk adorning his features. "Now I may be wrong, but I think we're witnessing the beginning of love here." He turned his head back to the Host Club.
"Being a host and getting fussed over by a bunch of girls might not be that bad." Haruhi stated. Isami shrugged and blinked, still missing the obvious that was right next to her, and said,
"Hey, how about we just call everyone dude and bro, now?" Haruhi blinked at her and giggled before going into full blown laughter, Isami joining in with that goofy grin of hers.
