Okay, this new chapter is short and dark. You are warned. I am still working on updating my other fic Easy Mistakes, but I have been doing this in the meantime. Enjoy and review!
"How is that possible?"
He grinned. "Well, when a house-elf and a human love each other very much—not really. When a wizard rapes a house elf and she inexplicably gets pregnant. That's how an urisk happens. But I'm the great-great grandson of a house elf, so don't go throwing socks at me."
"I did not know … I had no idea that occurred."
"Not really at all anymore. But if you were paying any attention in History of Magic class, you would know that a whole race of Urisk developed after the Goblin Wars. The wizards fought dirty."
"Why do you help Voldemort? Why do you hate Mudbloods?"
"Are you a virgin?" She looked away. She couldn't do this, please let him not do this to her.
"Yes. Why Voldemort? He hates anything less than purebloods."
"Sure. But so does the Ministry. Not officially, but it is underneath all of their policies. You never let Krummy Krum put it in?"
"No. How …? So why do you hate Mudbloods? We face the same persecution; you should be helping us, not hunting us."
"We are not in the same position, Mudblood. Take off your blouse."
"I don't want to." She didn't mean to say it. He reached toward her and she flinched, but he grasped her fingers and then the knot which bound her wrists together. With one tug, she felt the ropes loosen and unravel, and the blood rushed into her hands.
"Take it off." He said it gently, but it was no easier to hear. She looked away from him as she slowly unbuttoned the remaining buttons and slipped it off her shoulders. She removed the ripped bra because it wasn't hiding anything, anyway. "There we are. My, my, my; you just glow with an inner light, don't you? It's damn near sickening." He thought for a moment as he studied her body. "How is it that nobody has taken you yet? I wouldn't take no for an answer, if I had you lying next to me in a tent all night. Merlin, but you're lovely."
She couldn't quite bring herself to look at him, and it took her a couple of tries before she politely cleared her throat and asked, "Why don't you think we are in the same position?"
"Well, I've got my shirt on for one, you hussy." She looked at him. He was back against the wall, hands on his knees, staring at her as though she were a beautiful landscape. "We've got nobody. No people. When we're born, we are separated from whatever creatures we come from because of our human or wizard blood, we're separated from humans because of our animal blood, and none of us will band together because we wouldn't stand a chance against those who would seek to destroy us if we even hinted at desiring more rights. You had a pack, and you have forsaken it."
