Da Capo
- from the beginning-
After much pleading with both his mother and his father, they had finally agreed to let him have lessons. His mother, though, would not permit her little boy to go off to some questionable music class at any sort of music centre. If he was going to play the piano, he was going to be playing at home.
Though she had been reluctant at first, when his mother opened one of the spare rooms tucked in the corner of his household to reveal a black piano, she smiled endearingly as Tadase ran up to hug her. He must have thanked her a thousand times before he detached himself from her.
His mother told him that she would hire someone to come in to teach him how to play. His lessons would only be starting next week, though. She left him, then, saying that she had some things to attend to.
Tadase was alone, now.
Alone, in the dimly lit room where his piano was.
The piano that he had wanted so badly because Ikuto-nii-san had left him alone.
He didn't know why Ikuto-nii-san had just left the household like that. Utau-chan left not long after, and he did not know the reason for that, too.
The adults wouldn't tell him. Maybe they didn't know either.
He'll come back. Tadase thought to himself. He believed in Ikuto-nii-san.
There was a piano stool in front of the piano and after a bit of a struggle, because of the height of the stool, Tadase managed to hop onto it. Making himself comfortable, his legs hanging off the edge of the seat, he lifted the cover over the keys.
Blue? He had never played a piano before, but even at this age Tadase was sure that the keys weren't meant to be blue. Oh…these aren't the keys.
He removed the blue covering from over the keys, placing them on the floor beside him.
He ran his small fingers over the smooth white and black keys, feeling a sense of awe within him. This was his piano.
Finger now hovering over the note right in the middle of all the keys, he tentatively pressed it down.
The note resounded through the room and Tadase immediately pulled his hand back, startled by the sudden shift from total quiet, though he should have expected it.
He didn't know what note he had just played, but a smile grew on his face as he repeated the motion again and again.
It was only a single note.
To Tadase, though, it was the first step into what would be something great.
When you come back, Ikuto-nii-san, I'll make you proud!
A/N: Tadaa! So, after a long stretch of time, I had the urge to write another chapter for this fic. Little Tadase having trouble climbing onto the chair would be the cutest thing ever, I thought. I also like to think that his mother might be sweeter on Tadase in the times the Tsukiyomi siblings aren't around.
Ahem, anyway, hope you enjoyed reading this and thanks for reading/reviewing the last chapter, if you did.
See you if/when/if I update this again.
