This gay shit is back? Damn right it is back. Mostly because I'm bored and writing my other gay as story with fuckboy ass Lincoln. I despise the story BUT I do have a plan for it so you'll see soon. Anyways, you'll see the importance of this story at the end. I used cults and evil people in history as a base for this but not too much to practically relive it.
1975
It had been a cooling summer night, the sky uncloudy and it's dark blue beauty exposed to every being in the world. Stars sprinkled and across the horizon as if a brush flicked white paint all over a dark colored canvas, they glowed dimly yet somehow still bright enough to be admired by the human eye. Down in the town of Royal Woods, there were men and women scattered everywhere that talked amongst themselves of how their days went, children played ball late in the street and elders sat on the balcony of their apartments watching over the youth, reminiscing of the good old days where they had once been in those shoes.
Walking down the sidewalk, hand in hand, was a young couple. They couldn't have been older than 25 or 26, the man was a bit of a handsome, square looking kind of guy. He had a big of a bronze tan and was reaching 6 feet tall. The girl was absolutely gorgeous in almost every way, shorter than her boyfriend and much paler, at the same moment she received whistles and catcalls while still in the arms of her love. It didn't bother her though, she really couldn't have cared less, because it was in his arms where she felt safe.
"I'm sure glad it isn't that hot tonight," She smiled, strolling down the street with her boyfriend, "It was hot as hell yesterday around midnight."
"Oh definitely, probably the hottest night this year."
"You slept in your birthday suit! Don't think I forgot about what poked me till I woke."
The man looked at her and gave a smirk as her eyes drooped while looking him up and down in a flirtatious manner. Soon after when they reached the end of the street, they had seen a group of friends hanging by the ice cream truck that had been put in park, this was the place it had gotten its business since it had started to get hot.
"Josiah! Carmen!" A dark man called out, he pushed himself from his position where he leaned against the truck with one foot against it. His open flannel flying behind him as he skipped towards the couple. He was no older than they were, maybe a few years younger, but that was it.
"Y'all hear? Old man Taylor is giving away ice creams for free for the rest of the night. Said something about a bunch of big containers were coming in tomorrow, so he needed to get rid of the ones he has now."
Josiah hummed lightly and look towards the truck, he squeezed his lady as his arm was wrapped around her shoulders. She looked up at him and smiled.
"Want an ice cream babe?"
Carmen pretended to think about it intensely for a moment, a finger and thumb on her chin and her full lips puckered. Josiah and their friend looked at her amusedly, waiting for an answer they already knew.
"Sure my love, why not?"
After giving her a peck on the cheek, Josiah unwrapped his arm and pulled his friend with him as he walked towards the truck that was surrounded by bodies that swallowed down the dairy product and sweated profusely. Yeah, it hadn't been as hot as the previous night, but it was still very heated in the air tonight. Image how it was yesterday.
"Let's go, you're going through that crowd and getting it for me, Mickey."
Standing there alone, watching her man from a distance, Carmen began to grow increasingly uneasy as the moments passed by. It had felt as if out of all the people her tonight, there was a pair of eyes that surely stared holes in the back of her head. It was a disturbing thought that sent shivers down her spine and made her was to run towards Josiah and Mickey. Nevertheless, she stayed on the curb, feet glued in the same position. Not moving even an inch.
The feeling of ugliness grew as she felt a presence approach her from behind, whatever it was must've had some negative energy that shook Carmen to the core. Frowning, she turned around as quick as a flash and stared at the body behind her. Her defense had died down instantly as she eyed a women smaller than her. She was skinny, dressed kind like one of those hippies you'd see on television that fought against the man. Her hair was a dark burgundy color that Carmen shamelessly admits to herself that she absolutely loved the color.
"Hey there! Whew, sorry, didn't mean to give ya a spook." Flower power girl apologized as she held her hands up in surrender. Carmen exhaled heavily in relief that the lady wasn't some man willing to commit murder in public like this.
"No, no, no, it's more than okay. I reacted a bit too much."
"Nah, I would be too if I were here by my lonesome," Flower power looked around, rocked back and forth from her heels and toes, "Oh! Look at me being rude!" She gasped and snapped towards Carmen then thrust a hand out towards her, "The name is Cherry, who might you be?"
Hesitantly, the much papers girl accepted the gesture and weakly smiled, "Carmen."
"No shit? Wow, two 'C' named girls, could be fate!"
The air had grown nearly awkward for one of the girls, feeling very uneasy by the random closeness and kindness. It's usually okay for a stranger to act caring and kind, Carmen encouraged such acts, but Cherry had been an entirely different story. She had only met the burgundy haired girl no more than five minutes ago, here she was treating as if she had known her for years like Josiah had. Despite the very uncomfortable feeling Carmen had, she was never one to act like a bitch. You never know, maybe Cherry was mentally challenged.
After a few seconds, Josiah ran up fast with two melting vanilla ice cream cones, Mickey fast behind him with two chocolate.
"Baby! Here! Quick!"
Carmen nearly caught the cone that was close to being thrown to the floor. Droplets of the white dairy product splatter a bit onto Carmen's shirt and the hot ground beneath them. Josiah winced slightly but didn't mind it since his lady showed no signs that she was, as a matter a fact, she immediately went to town on the thing.
Mickey looked at the stranger to the far left of them, she looked at the couple that resumed to cuddle up with their source of current coolness. His brows furrowed as he scanned the body of Cherry. He noticed faint streaks of red lightly staining her soft looking skin, her fingernails were very dirty, as if she had been scraping dead skin off her body. She really did look like a hippie. Cherry noticed the dark man's stare from the corner of her eye and broke off her own towards Josiah and Carmen.
"Got a wandering eye there?"
Mickey's cheeks turned to a darkish red color that had been still visible on his skin, his eyes widened like a child being caught of stealing a cookie.
"Oh! No, ma'am! I was just curious as to where you came from."
"It's okay there, I'm just busting your chops," Cherry laughed and walked over to Mickey, elbowing him lightly and making her face visible to the three, "Name's Cherry, I introduced myself to the lovely Carmen here no more than a few moments ago."
Josiah noticed Carmen's smile wipe off as she noticed Cherry make her presence known again. He narrowed his eyes for a second but let it go, unlike her, he didn't feel weirded out by the new girl.
"My name is Josiah, that's Minkah."
"Um, no, it's Mickey!" Said man protested. He hated his real name, not too long ago he had made it a point to have everyone call him by his nickname. Even at one point he started to lie that his name had been Mickey instead of Minkah.
Cherry laughed softly, she pinched his cheek gently and nodded, "I like Minkah, but don't worry, I'll call ya Mickey."
After sobering up a little from the small laughing fit they had, Cherry had taken her focus off the chatting friends. Her face going stone cold and her eyes twitching, she looked off towards the apartment building not far from them, where a man stood glaring at the four of them. She gave a nod and turned back to the other three, making sure none of them had seen the nod. She once again looked at the man who had started to walk over to them. Putting on her loving smile, she cleared her throat loudly to get their attention.
"Oh well would ya look at that!"
She acted as if she had seen the man for the first time as he arrived fast, the others looked at him as well, more curious as to who he was. He had shaggy hair and a scruffy beard, he was decently built but he didn't look very good. Nearly sick. Almost grayish skin and wide eyes that would scare the hell out of you in a pure black room.
"This my husband!" Cherry called out, she wrapped an arm around his waist since she was very much taller than her, "Lucas."
Lucas looked everyone up and down, sparing nasty glares for Josiah and Carmen but almost scoffing as his eyes barely glossed over Mickey. He was a very… frightening man. They didn't know him, but with the demeanor he had, they kinda didn't want to know him.
"Hello." He spoke in a scratchy like voice, almost as if he hadn't drank any kind of liquids in days but desperately needed to do so. It bothered Carmen and made her own throat itchy, but she left it be.
"He's very quiet now, but trust me, if ya get to know him he is quite the chatterbox." Cherry made Lucas lean down so she could plant a big wet kiss on his cheek.
The uneasy thoughts Carmen had for Cherry in the first place started to lean towards Lucas. Suddenly, the hippie woman didn't seem so bad now.
"Why not invite them over them, lovely? We recently got a bunch of those new air fans. The house is pretty cooling at the moment."
Carmen was quick to deny the offer but Josiah had spoken up before she did, "Why sure! It's better than standing out here trying to fight off sweaty assholes for ice cream." He managed to get a smile off Lucas and began to feel confident, "I have to ask, is this a trap? I mean, it's not like you're gonna murder us right?"
Lucas let out a hearty laugh as well as Cherry did, Josiah giggles a bit while Carmen took the question seriously. Mickey just stood out feeling far from the conversation. Something told him the invite did not extend kindly over to him, and while he tried not to seem disappointed, he couldn't hide it in his eyes.
"You're a funny guy. I like you," The buff man let out, he looked towards Carmen and gave her a lopsided smile, "You too, ma'am."
"Honey, this is Josiah and Carmen. Oh, and there is Mickey." Cherry was less harsher towards the dark skinned man, unlike her husband, who's tone came off as if he didn't like him because of the obvious reason.
Carmen had still been hesitant about the whole ordeal, there was no doubt about that. Especially when Josiah jumped up at the offer to spend some time in a house with two weird looking strangers that she was afraid off… but when she felt her lover's arm wrapped around her waist securely, squeezing her smaller frame every so often, she began not to fear it a whole lot anymore. Josiah would protect her no matter what, she felt safer close to him than away. He seemed excited after all, and there had been a possibility that these people were all bad, sure maybe weirdos, but not dangerous. I guess it was a chance she had to take, whether she wanted to or not.
"Well," Josiah cleared his throat and looked at the other couple in front of them, "Let's get going?"
"Of course! It's just down the street, that big complex on the end," Cherry stayed in Lucas' grip but turned her head to Mickey, "You can tag along if you'd like, we always have room for ya."
Mickey's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at his friends who awaited for his answer, Carmen seemed to have a desperate look in her eyes. He then very quickly glanced at Lucas, then looked down when he came into contact with a hateful glare.
'Fuck no.'
"Ummm, nah. It's okay, maybe some other time but for now I gotta get going to my mom's. She needs help and all."
"Ahhhhh well, yes maybe next time. See ya!"
He only nodded and murmured sorry to his friends before turning away fast and sped walked down to the ice cream truck to say his goodbyes to the others he left there. After that, Mickey had almost ran away from their sight, disappearing over the groups of people that hung around on the streets. Josiah paid no mind to it, but Carmen felt her heart tug for the man.
It was more than 10 minutes later where they had made it to the apartment complex. It was a long way up to the top where the hippie couple resided, but Josiah didn't mind and Carmen didn't complain as much as she wanted to. Soon they had arrived to their destination, in front of a dark red door with the number 103 on it. It gave the two new people here the chills. Something in the atmosphere was off putting, it had even started to get to Josiah now the way it had with his girlfriend earlier. But both had stayed quiet and continued.
Lucas slid his golden key into the keyhole, turning it to unlock the door. Once it sounded out a click, he gently swung the object open and nodded towards the inside of their apartment.
"There you go, trust me, once you step foot in there you will be transported to the sweet heaven."
As much as Carmen just wanted to cut her loses, suffer in the heat if it meant to feel comfortable… But the temptation of the coolness started to overcome comfort at the moment.
'They're just weirdos… they're not dangerous.'
Josiah slowly stepped in first, Carmen coming in behind right after. Cherry and Lucas had yet to step in as they watched the couple walked into the darkish room. Lucas looked at his wife with a smirk, gave her a tiny push into the house and whispered something into her ear before making an attempt to close the door ever so softly, as if he didn't want the other couple to hear.
Carmen then looked around frantically as the light had yet to turn on. She began to mentally curse herself for being so stupid and letting Josiah agree to this, for her being so idiotic as to ALLOWING this to happen. It wasn't that they were lagging to turn the light on… they were going to do something unpleasant, and now Carmen knew it all clear.
'THEY'RE FUCKING DANGEROUS! VERY FUCKING DANGEROUS!'
She left Josiah's protective hand leave hers abruptly. Scuffling around could be heard on the wooden floor, making her shake in fear.
"Jo-Jo?!" She called our as she tried to walk towards another direction, her hands out in front of her to keep her body from slamming into random objects. She knew she had Cherry and Lucas to worry about but right now all she had on her mind was getting her love back next to her. She was sure the people she wanted to run away from, have just as much difficult seeing the way she has it now.
"Baby?!"
No response. No voices were heard, but she felt a hand grab onto her arm roughly.
"Josiah!"
The hand let go of her arm and shoved into her chest, sending her heart flying back into the floor but luckily she caught herself. Her heart started to pound violently against her chest, beads of sweat dripped down her face. Yeah, the air was cool as promised but this isn't what they said would happen. She knew better than to trust strangers… guess this is what happens when you let your guard down.
Suddenly, arms stretched out and grabbed a hold of her shoulders. One of the hands shot down towards her neck and wrapped around a think, gold necklace she wore that Josiah had given to her for their four year anniversary not to long ago.
"Nice necklace," A voice she knew that didn't belong to her boyfriend, Cherry, or Lucas spoke out, "But you won't be needing this anymore, pig."
The hand yanked the necklace off and shoved her harder than the last time. She screamed and reached out to the direction of the person who took her loved possession.
"Please, stop it! What do you want from us?! Let us go please!" She begged loudly. Tears fell from her eyes and down to her cheeks, where they mixed with her sweat and fell off her face. Carmen just wanted it all to end. She wanted to go home. Wake up from this nightmare.
"I'm begging you!"
Another hand grabbed a hold of the back of her shirt, it began to roughly pull on it, making it tear at the seams. Carmen began to sob loudly, she tried to fight back but she couldn't bring herself to gather enough energy to do so.
"Shut the fuck up." The owner of the hand murmured as they let go of her shirt. It went quiet for a moment but she suddenly felt a sharp object insert into her shoulder, making it tingle at first but then grow hotter and hotter, almost as if they burned it before stabbing her with it. She screamed loudly as the pain finally hit her like a truck and pulsated throughout her chest. She turned her head as best as she could and saw that it had been a large kitchen knife, the butt if it held by the person's hand. Their knuckles turning white from gripping it so hard.
After a few seconds, the knife was ripping out of Carmen's shoulder. Her blood spilling out and flowing fast down her body. It hurt, but no matter how much she screamed, it wouldn't take away the pain nor lessen it.
The lights then came on in a flash, making Carmen's eyes go blurry for a moment before they adjusted to the light and made her surroundings very clear to her. Around her, was a group of people joined by Lucas and Cherry. They worse black pants and black long sleeves, some women and some men. One of the women had her hands in front of her chest and fiddled with something Carmen had forcefully departed with not too long ago. It was her necklace. The smug bitch smirked at her and looks back down to the jewelry. She weakly turned around and faced the other side of the groups, there, her eyes landed on a hand who held the large kitchen knife that was placed into her shoulder not too long ago. It slowly dripped with her blood onto the wooden floor, as the man's hand did. Her eyes scanned the group a little more and she grew even more terrified to realize a few more of the group people held knives similar to the man's. In each corner of the room were candles, stacks of papers, and even red liquid on the walls that Carmen knew what it was. It was obvious at this point when she took in this horror house.
"I'm sorry it had to come to this, Carmen."
She heard Lucas' raspy voice. It wasn't like before where she was turned off by it and made her own throat feel itchy… it was much more. This time, she wanted to rip his voice box out so he's never speak again.
"But we HAVE to had you and Josiah to come with us. We have someone to please and to do so… your deaths are unfortunately needed as well."
The few with the knives started to close in on her, their eyes dull, filled with emptiness and a loathing for her. Too weak to fight back, all Carmen could do was sit there and cry. She missed Mickey, she wanted Josiah. She wanted it all to end.
"Do as you're supposed to, my dears," Cherry spoke out, she stood beside Lucas and looked over everyone with a blank face, "Make him happy. He'll make us happy in return."
Carmen closed her eyes softly as she knew there was no longer a way out of this. It had been her fault for allowing herself and Josiah to come, but in the end... maybe it was fate.
'I'm sorry Mickey… I'm sorry Josiah, I love you dearly.'
A loud piercing scream was her after repeated blows to a body also came with it. A few voices chanting a name over and over was heard over Carmen's agonizing shouting. It would've shaken any man to his core but sadly, nobody would know what happened here.
Off in the hallway, not too far from the scene, was a little curly haired body that tip-toed down towards the bathroom. He was on his dinosaur pajama pants and shirt, he held his blue blanket close. The scream didn't bother him much obviously as he barely gave a look towards the living room before continuing on to the bathroom. He slowly opened the door and stared intensely at the tub where a body lay slumped in. It was Josiah. His eyes wide open and his mouth too, his throat slit open and blood covering his entire front body. His face purple and looked scared shitless.
Oddly, the little boy didn't freak out over the horrific scene. His eyes glanced over every little detail of the man and of the tub. It didn't make him feel frightened, nor did it make him weirdly happy. It made him feel, well, blank. Any other child would've ran to the hill, screaming at the top of their lungs, ensuring years of nightmares to come. But not the boy, he had been used to seeing things like this, this was his normal.
Zoning out and staring at the body that seemed to stare at him back, the boy felt himself be picked up and yanked from the bathroom doorway. One of the much bigger arms wrapped around him tightly and the other went around to prop him up by hooking around his legs. The boys back pressed against a flat chest and a chin rested at the top of his head. The smell of the person was familiar and he made no attempt to try and wriggle out the arms that held him. He watched as he passed back beyond the murder going on and into his bedroom. He turned to face the adult holding him and smiled when he saw it was his father.
"Buddy, you know better than to be out when that happens." Lucas spoke in a very gentle voice as he turned on the bedroom light then closed the door with his foot. He walked over the small bed and laid the boy in it, then tucked him in before taking a seat onto the edge of the bed, he began to look at his son with his eyes softening with adoration.
"I'm sorry, daddy." The boy spoke softly, his small voice making his father want to hug him all the more.
Lucas chuckled and leaned forward, he pressed his lips against his son's forehead. The small kiss lingered there for a minute before the older man pulled away. Staying sitting there for a few minutes watching his son's expression change from nervous to happy, he stood up but stayed looming over the bed.
"It's okay, baby boy. Just remember that you have to stay in here when we do this. You know why?"
He nodded, "Because it makes the red eyes man angry?"
"Yes, very good."
Lucas smiled before he walked towards the door and turned the knob. He almost fully slipped out to go finish the ritual of the month but then heard his son's gentle voice call out to him once more. He turned to face him, his back leaning against the doorway and his demeanor calm.
"Daddy?"
"Yes?"
The boy fiddled with his thumbs and he looked nervous once more, it was a second or so before he finally spoke up, "Will I make the red eyes man happy too?"
Lucas felt his heart skipped a beat as he nodded slowly. Some parents wanted their sons to be just like them. Whether it was a police officer, scientist, or even successfully business man. What he had wished for, is for his son to grow big and strong one day so he could take over the 'family'. As Lucas had with his old man. It isn't very acceptable to be in a cult, especially one like this, but it just seemed right. To treat it as a family business where the future generations take over and please their fathers and grandfathers, it made it seem normal. To Lucas, it was all okay.
"Yes… yes you will, my boy."
The boy smiled excitedly and giggled, he hugged his blankie closer after showing his happiness off to his father. Lucas laughed lightly and captured this father/son moment that he'll replay in his mind for the rest of the night.
Now off to step out of the room, almost shutting the door closed, he heard his son's small voice peep out once more. It was a small thing so he had made no attempt to step back in, but stood there and listened.
"I love you, daddy."
He grinned widely.
"I love you too, Lynn."
