PATH OF CHAOS

- By Lord Rance

Disclaimer: Seriously, I don't own any of the anime characters that appear in this entire fanfic, otherwise I'll just make sure you'll know if I do make new characters.

Author Notes: Hmm... I LIVE ONCE AGAIN! And we're going to make chaos.

Been a long time (seriously) since I last posted a chapter. I was trying to make my life work out. I am now apparently good in life, so... gotta finish this story.

THIS IS JUST A TEASER. Of the actual chapter I'm going to put up soon. I'm about halfway done in it.

Warning about the bit of violence in some parts. Take note that the violence level would pick up real quick as Ranma gets flung deeper into everything.

Ancient Language (used by gods and goddesses, Ancient Gods): "-Ranma-"

Thoughts and Telepathy: ((Ranma))

CHAPTER 1 - EVOLUTION

x - x - x - x - x - x - x

L5 PLANT Colony, seventeenth of October, Cosmic Era 54...

A rather tall, brown haired man was having some tea with his long-time friend. He was currently an aspiring politician with honest views about keeping the peaceful relations between his people and the ones on Earth, whom were referred to as Naturals. His own people were dubbed 'Coordinators'. They were genetically engineered superhumans who's genes were among the best of both 'parents'. Of course, this proved to be a bit envious for those who practiced the old ways of falling in love and letting nature run its course. The Coordinators were treated as monsters, although some of the Naturals eventually accepted the Coordinators. Some of the Coordinators as well, treated the Naturals as inferior beings. But of course, that was only some of them. A small part of the Coordinators strived to live happily with the Naturals.

Coordinators were products of selective gene breeding, and they have the brain capacity of at least six Naturals. They also have a high learning curve, and exceptional physical traits to match with their brains.

Right now, Siegel Clyne was remembering the time he met a certain frfiend of his, Ranma Choushin. Siegel met Ranma when the pigtail man and his companions were hiding out in the L-1 Old-Type Colony from the After Colony Era. The Japanese-oriented L1 Colony was old, but it was still erect and neutral. Some of the Earth Alliance and ZAFT troops tried to take over the small cluster of L-1 colonies once, but not one of the troops came back out of the area. Since then, each expedition sent inside either chickened out or were never heard from again. It was rumored that there was a very ominous looking silver ship that hovered just inside the colony area, and if the ship wasn't present an unconfirmed, unidentified silver colored mecha with huge wings was vaguely spotted. But the information was unreliable since the photos were to grainy to be sure.

Anyway, that's when Siegel Clyne went into the L-1 area, dubbed as the Black Hole Colony, because of the reputation. Siegel went inside in a private and unarmed ship, with only himself and some scientists who were brave enough to come with the expedition. They were curious about the situation in the colony and the infamous silver ship and the mecha. They were already way inside the L-1 area when their small ship was suddenly drained of all power except the back-up. Only short-wave communications and life-support were powered by the back-up, which would probably last for only several days at most. With no propulsion, they would be stranded here until the back-up runs out.

Well, Siegel and his meager crew grew anxious at every passing moment, which caused them to jump up in panic when their communications fluttered to life.

"You again?! Can't you get it into your thick heads that we don't wanna be disturbed in here?! Now I have to capture you too! I have too many people already in here to take you in as well!" The male voice that replied sounded really irritated as he prattled on with whatever the situation was. But the ranting voice was cut off and the radio fell into static, causing Siegel to sweatdrop despite their predicament.

Suddenly, the radio cackled once again, but instead of the deep baritone voice of a male, a melodious voice of a female echoed all over their communications. "I'm sorry about that, but my husband is quite irritated as of the moment. Anyway, we wish to know what your intentions areas of the moment. Be informed that we will blast you to kingdom come if we find your reason... unsound."

The group of scientists sweatdropped as they heard the male voice in the background saying, "As if that's any different to what I was saying before."

Siegel gulped as he eyed his crew. They were all silently gesturing for him to take the mic and respond. Swallowing whatever hesitation he can feel, he went over to the communications booth and replied, "We were just curious as to why all the emmisaries we sent into the L-1 Colony mysteriously vanished. We were sent to investigate, and we don't have any hidden agenda about it. If you could, scan our ship for any weapons whatsoever. You would find that we have none."

After a few moments of terse silence, another voice but still female answered, "Even if you did have weapons, you will just be destroyed as easily as those battleships sent into this colony months ago with one shot. So your current battle status was never our concern. We just wanted to know your intentions. Do not misunderstand, we don't kill so callously. We were just forced to defend this area when those military types fired their guns while we attempted negotiations. So, we defended ourselves and fired our weapons."

"I... understand." Siegel winced. He could sympathize with whoever was speaking on the other side. The military had long since have the tendency to shoot first and ask questions later attitude. That kind of action usually drew everyone into war.

"Anyway..." The melodious voice of the first female returned, causing Siegel to relax slightly, "Just relax while we pull you towards our position."

The radio fell into silence once again as their ship shook a bit from some weak impact. Their ship was slowly pulled deeper into the clusters of space debris that revolved around the old L-1 Colony. Siegel noted that the various metal that littered all over the area provided a good camouflage for whatever was in the middle of it.

After two hours of waiting, the drifting ship finally stopped, causing Siegel to peek once again outside the thick special plexiglass that decorated the ship's side. The leader of the small expedition and his band of scientists gaped in wonder as they gazed upon the weirdest vessel they had ever seen in their lives. It was the rumored silver ship, and now that they are seeing it in close range, they could see that it was made of some sort of crystal. There were sharp points that stretched from its sides and pointed towards the back area, making it a bit aerodynamic for some reason. There were two large barrel-like things that jutted out at the frontal side of the ship, as well as another barrel-shaped thing at the top. The middle part of the ship was made up of a large diamond shaped silver crystalline structure.

This was the start of a new era for them, as well as a new acquaintance for Seigel Clyne.
