Is There Any Other Kind of Pain?

She wasn't a stupid person by nature. Clumsy and a bit big, but by no means stupid. She had lots of reasons to be cruel and hateful. Being bigger than most of the girls her age helped that attitude. Being ignored by most of the boys didn't help either. Millicent, now at the ripe old age of twenty-five, had grown into her body and didn't much care about what her former school mates thought. She kept to herself and was happy doing her own thing. She owned a shop in Diagon alley and had a steady boyfriend. He was muggle born, and that didn't bother her.

But part of her remembered the boy she'd first lost her heart to, who still held a portion of it forever in his keeping. Davis had proposed to her last week, and she'd accepted, even knowing that part of her heart belonged to Draco Malfoy. She'd been admiring the ring on her finger when the chime on her door brought her out of her thoughts. Pasting a smile on her face she looked up to see a too familiar face.

"Draco?"

"You're marrying that mud-blooded git?" Draco snapped.

"No one else offered for me," Millicent smiles sadly, wishing he had once upon a time.
