Hello everybody, and welcome back to this little abomination. Before we begin I must say, forty follows/favs and thirteen reviews on the first chapter is much more than I expected. Thank you all for liking my stupid ramblings, it means the world to me.
Also, I'm going to be using this AN to talk about my story and respond to reviews, so if ya don't wanna hear that, skip to when the bold text stops.
...
Good to go? Me too.
First, I apologize if any character feels OOC. I try to adhere to the canon lore and such, very seriously. But, since certain characters get little screen time, like Mizuki, we have no full comprehension of how they work in every scenario. And by trying to expand upon that character, we have to make some logical assumptions, using whatever explanations are provided by canon, to mold them in a realistic fashion. However, with Mizuki in this chapter, I had him be a bit more joking and chill than his original incarnation, and certainly more human than every fanfiction ever. I made him act this way, due to his behavior, seeing as he was quite sociopathical, always sweet and kind when in normal human interactions, but a rather moral-less monster when alone. It seemed logical that, in his quest to get more power by rising in the ranks, he would show to his superiors that he can help change troubled youth. It also might explain why he assisted Iruka with his testing, having the disciplinary teacher in when his class has a lot of problem children.
In short, I try to think every possible angle through, but I'm still human. So if you think any character doesn't make sense, feel free to PM me with the details. I'd love to discuss why it seems outlandish, and what I could do to fix it.
Next is reviews, and there's a good bit of them, especially for the first chapter of my story. But a bunch of them were just characters that people wanted in (and sometimes out) of the harem. I understand that I asked for girls, but still I'd like to just cover a few things with a broad stroke.
Please attempt to limit your selection of girls to three if possible, and don't include Midna, Kurama, or Haku. They are already in, and I wanted to see who people wanted added. Also, If you want to suggest some girls, please give reasons or possible ideas for how you'd think they'd fit into the story.
Other than that, lets get into reviews. (PS I don't cover every review, only those that I feel contribute something, are funny, or I just like)
From coduss
not bad, not bad. question, will it be full sized midna, or imp form midna in the harem? i know they're technically the same person, but i just preferred imp form midna, mostly because that was just how i was used to seeing her for the whole game, and also because her "normal" form is just too boringly human looking for me.
Hello coduss, good to see a return reader from my other story! And a good question.
The truth is that both will be in the harem. Midna will transform to fit her needs, and as such, Naruto will notice different attractive qualities about both. Also, while they will be the same person, I will try to keep them semi-seperate, as Midna will use two separate personas for both forms, though she will have the same overall personality.

(This review is really long, and I don't want to pan out the word length anymore than I need. So I'll just respond and you can just go read it, its kinda hard to miss.)
You, my good sir, are the reviewer I dream about! Actual grammar, thinking through the lore before you suggest something, and giving me ideas about how to proceed with your suggestions. I adore you.
And yes, we do not know how much time disconnects BoTW from TP, but I am quite confident that they are connected in the same timeline branch (Child Path) You can see the actual remains of TP's hyrule town, as well as passing mentions of the twilight (which is absent in any other game) leading me to believe it is the immediate successor to Tp, but I'm not too sure. Regardless, this was actually a planned plot point that I had thought of for a few things to connect Hyrule to the Elemental Nations. As well as connect it to other predecessor games (relative to the timeline) to TP and by proxy Naruto. But these are just plans right now.
That does it for reviews, except for one last one.
I will not show it, simply because it is quite rude and derogatory. It comes from a guest, and is homophobic and transphobic. I mean no rudeness to your personal views, for I do not know if you intended to be offensive (Though I can imply such from your wording) but please do not put such words in my reviews. I am leaving this review up as an example, but all after it will be flagged and deleted. I have no time for bigoted people.
Sorry for all of you having to see that, and thank you for reading this stupid AN.
I hope you all will enjoy your stay at the Shadow Realm.
Lets get into this shit shall we?
Naruto groaned, bored to the highest degree, as he sat down at his academy desk. He was currently serving another case of detention for pulling a prank during school hours, which had become a common occurrence since he joined the academy two years ago, when he was nine.
He had been in and out of detention so often, that he had become intimately familiar with the room, as well as the other students who frequented the delinquent's den.
The room was a little smaller than the average classroom, mostly since it wasn't always a detention room. Originally, it had been used for storage, but with the increase in extracurricular activities, the school needed a new area to host the incorrigible kids. And with the new room set, the room got a lot more use, causing the wood to scratched with the scribbles of many children, the underside of tables to host a giant collage of chewing gum, and even a few dried blood stains from the more… rambunctious kids…
But overall the place felt… Kinda homey.
If only because of the few friends he had, that also joined the miscreant manor.
Many of the members were Nara clan members, who were simply too lazy to do anything in class. Most teachers wouldn't be that offended by the idea, but ever since one of the more angry teachers sentenced one Nara to detention, several others followed suit. Two such clan members were on an acquaintance level with the Uzumaki boy.
The first was the nine year old heir to the Nara clan, Shikamaru Nara. He was garbed in a simple gray t-shirt and shorts, with his dark hair in a spiky ponytail. The young Nara was one of the new-bloods of the year, and yet he quickly showed the academy that he was even more lazy than his infamous father, earning his seat as a permanent member of the loser lodge.
The next was a young Nara girl from a year behind Naruto, and one above Shikamaru, she was dressed in a black jacket, hood up, with gray track pants. Her hair was kept short with a hairpin keeping the bangs away from her deep, chocolate eyes. This was Yukiko Nara, and from his limited conversation, he had learned that she was actually an orphan from the Kyuubi incident several years ago, and was quite the anti-social girl. If one were to meet her for the first time, they would think that she was half Aburame from her limited sociability and use of quick, one word responses.
Though, she was contrasted by the young girl sitting next to her, a sweet girl with a white v-neck shirt and frilly skirt. Her hair was long and beautiful shade of light blonde, that cascaded down her body and covered the right half her face. But through the bangs, one could see the medical tape that ran around her upper face, over her eyes. She was Madoka Yamanaka, a blind, orphaned girl from the clan of mind walkers, and the only person from her clan to receive detention.
She was the school's biggest sweetheart, a soft, caring young girl who was the brightest ball of sunshine, despite her hardships in life. Many, many teachers were enamoured with her girl, giving her extra attention and care. Hell, the only reason she was even in the detention room, was because she made a request to the teachers to allow her to be here with Yukiko.
Moving on, the next clan that had some major members in the child slammer, was the Inuzuka clan. A clan of ninja who formed partnerships with dogs that were special 'Ninja Breeds.' They were almost always very headstrong and stubborn, which got them in many altercations with the teachers and other students. One of his acquaintances from the clan, was a young boy who was the second in line for the title heir, one Kiba Inuzuka; a young boy with brown hair and savage eyes. His outfit consisted of a beige long-sleeved shirt, and dark gray shorts.
He was also the shining example of what most Inuzuka were: brash, hotheaded, and practically full of ADHD. He could barely sit in detention without blowing a fuse, which made him and a few others skip class.
A lot.
Despite not knowing Kiba on a huge personal level, the two of them had come to an understanding, mostly due to Naruto's skill and strength, which Kiba respected, since they were far above average for his year.
Though, there was still one person who was a regular here, that he hadn't mentioned.
One that was never here for anything that was his doing, and was dragged down alongside Naruto himself.
That boy, was his training partner, arch-rival, and overall best friend, who just so happened to be shout-whispering at the him right now.
"… And what did you do? You just went and did it!" This was Sasuke Uchiha, the second in line for the position of Uchiha heir. He was a couple years younger than Naruto, but most people would call him the mature one of the two boys. His hair was a dark blue, which was slicked back into a mess of spikes, with the front being well maintained bangs.
The younger boy seemed to take notice of Naruto's bored expression, and got even angrier, "Are you even listening, idiot!?" He quickly pulled his arm back, and gave the prankster a punch on the arm, wrestling his attention away from dreamland.
Feeling the hit, Naruto focused back to reality, and onto his friend that sat next to him. He looked furious to say the least, his brow was furrowed and his black eyes cut through him with intent that could kill a lesser man.
Though, Naruto was far from a normal person, and just looked at his friend with half-lidded eyes, and spoke with a tired tone, "Y' know, they say that if you make faces like that, it'll stick, right?"
Sasuke's teeth began to grind, as he narrowed his eyes further, "Will you be serious for once in your life, Uzumaki!?"
The blue boy winked as his pale companion, and smirked slyly, "I take a lot of things serio-"
Though he would not get to speak for long, as the Uchiha swiftly interrupted him; grabbing the collar of his shirt and exhaling a tiny bit of fire, "Pranks and your addiction to ramen doesn't count, idiot!"
Naruto opened his mouth, ready to defend the honor of his greatest love, master, and god; ramen. But both boys were wretched from their argument by two pieces of chalk, which had hit them in their temples.
Turning to look at the person who threw them, both spotted the teacher who served detention; he was fairly average in height, and his face was fairly nondescript, minus how wide his mouth seemed to be, and he had long white hair. "Will you two twerps quit fighting? You're disturbing the peace for the rest of the students."
"Sorry, Sensei!" Sasuke's grip loosened from Naruto's shirt, and he bowed his head in apology. Naruto couldn't help but snort and laugh at the younger boy, he was always such a goody-two-shoes, even when in the remiss' roost.
Mizuki leveled his gaze at him next, causing Naruto's laughing to stop, "And you, Uzumaki..." Quickly reaching into his desk, he whipped out a small scroll, which held Naruto's belongings, "You can have this back, Hokage-sama said to go to training ground twelve. Your mother should be waiting for you."
Naruto's grin returned twofold, happy for his mother giving him that sweet, sweet 'Get-Outta-Jail-Free Card.' He gave Sasuke a sideways glance and stood up with some pep, then began saunter saucily towards the front of the classroom, and locked his multicolored eyes with Mizuki's own green orbs.
As Naruto grabbed his scroll, Mizuki leaned forward and whipsered, "Kushina-sama may have gotten you out early, but you're still not off the hook yet, gaki."
The young boys face twisted into a familiar foxy grin, "Y' know, people are gonna start rumors if you keep sweet talking me like that." He gave an overly exaggerated wink at the chuunin instructor, "Heck, at least buy me dinner first."
The white haired chuunin let off a small chuckle as he pushed the young student towards the door, "Oh, shut up and get outta here, kid. You're gonna give me gray hairs!"
"You mean it gets grayer!?" Naruto's mouth was agape with faux shock, before turning around and walking out of the door "But, seriously, see ya tomorrow, same time as always sensei!"
Meanwhile, Sasuke was currently wallowing in self pity, with his head in his arms on the desk. Now he had to stay here, while Naruto, who dragged him here in the first place, got off scott-free. Don't even get him started thinking about what his Father would say when he heard that Sasuke got detention, again!
Truly, fate was a cruel, cruel mistress…
That or Naruto was a lucky bastard…
… Maybe both, now that he was thinking about it…
Naruto softly hummed to himself as he was walking through the gate to training ground twelve, marveling at the thickness of the woods in this particular arena. The twelfth training ground was nothing really special, no impressive forest like number zero and forty-four, no memorial stone like number three; just a dense set of trees that didn't really grow very tall. All in all, pretty chill place.
Though, as he walked, Naruto was thinking about his reason for being here, mostly curious as to why his mother dragged him out of school early. Despite the way she talked about her time at the academy, she took his schooling very seriously. So if she brought him out here when he should've been in detention, it must be something important.
And speaking of his mother…
Naruto closed his eyes and pushed his chakra out, searching for her signature. She often liked to hide before any training sessions, mostly to prime his sensor skills and perception. Both of which, he was quite good at now, his perception was better than some genin, and he even managed to learn how to echo-locate with his chakra bursts.
Luckily though, he didn't even really have to look for Kushina, as she suddenly appeared in a shunshin behind him. A giant smile accompanied her face, as she slung her sling-bound arm around her son, smothering the back of his head against her bust. "Ohayou, Naruto-chan!"
The young boy jumped, surprised by his mother's sudden appearance, and affectionate greeting. But his features quickly shifted into a deadpan hearing his mother's words, "It's the afternoon, Kaa-san… If you wanted to greet me right, it would be konnichi wa."
Kushina didn't miss a single beat when her son criticized her speech, instead she actually gushed and began to pinch his cheek with her left hand, "Yes it is indeed, Naru-tan! And who do you thank for teaching you how to speak Japanese so well?"
Naruto sighed to himself, and resigned to his fate. His mother always got like this around him, and there was absolutely no way to win with her. "… You, Kaa-san..."
The redhead grew a cocky grin, as she nudged Naruto's head with her cheek, "Yer god damn right, 'ttebane!" Kushina's fun had come to an abrupt end, when she pulled back from her son and talked in a more somber tone, "In all seriousness, Naruto. I wanted you to meet me here for an important step in your training, and life in general."
Naruto turned to face his mother, his face straight and eyes focused, staring attentively at her. Her expression was far to melancholy to fit on her beautiful heart-shaped face. Her violet orbs that usually shined with excitement where sober and almost scared. It all shook Naruto to his core, he had never seen his mother look quite like this, "What is this… next step, Kaa-san…?"
She began to kneel down, getting eye level with the young lad, and took his hand into hers, "Sochi, I've told you years ago that you held the Kyuubi inside of your body, but starting today… You are going to start learning how to access its chakra." Naruto's eyes widened, both excited to access the power of a Biju, and even more so at meeting the beast itself. But Kushina caught the look in her son's eyes, "Sochi! I'm warning you right now, the Kyuubi's power is vast, but it is also highly corruptive. I remember the first time I used it… It felt so right… Like the power itself belonged to me, but it was also constrictive, forceful. It felt like the chakra was the will of the Kyuubi, and it was trying to indoctrinate me into a world of destruction." By this point, Kushina's eyes where openly watering as she desperately hugged her baby boy, "I know that you're exited, but promise me you won't be too overly zealous about gaining power… I don't want to lose you, Sochi..."
Despite his eagerness to finally meet his prisoner, he pushed down any thoughts of it and simply hugged his one-armed mother back, "Kaa-san, no matter what, you'll never lose me. I promise you, nothing in the world could take me from you. The Kyuubi couldn't consume me, death can't take me; come hell or high water, I'll be right beside you." Naruto pulled back and caught his mother's gaze, "Besides, we both know you'd beat the crap out of me if I let myself get lulled in by something like power."
Slowly, her purple orbs gained their previous spark, and she whispered, "Yer god damn right… And… thanks, Sochi." Kushina jumped up, standing fully again and pointed at her son with a bright smile, "Regardless, lets get to training Naruto-chan!"
Matching her smile, Naruto saluted playfully, "Hai, Kaa-chan!"
"Alright! First off, I just want you to sit down and meditate for a bit. Kinda like we did to unlock your chakra. From then, try and focus on feeling a strange energy coming from your gut."
Nodding to himself, Naruto sat down with his legs cross, in a lotus position, and began to breath slowly. With every inhalation, he calmed his mind and spirit, drawing in his chakra to the core; but when exhaling, he released the dam, allowing a smooth stream of his energy to flow though the pathways that filled his body. Despite his serene mind, Naruto kept alert, feeling the his chakra nodes activate and deactivate, searching for any kind of abnormality.
This process continued for roughly a half-hour, with Naruto switching things like the speed, density, and power of his chakra. But soon, within the center of his stomach, he began to feel a small disturbance.
Tiny, minuscule even, but it existed. With each passing breath, the Jinchuuriki slowly rerouted his chakra pulses to be centered around his chest, then his abdomen, and finally around the seal itself; with each inch he got closer to the pulse, it began to intensify. It started off as a soft thumping in his system, but soon, it became a flick of force, then a light smack, and so on until he could barely contain the feeling in his gut.
Finally, with his target narrowed down, Naruto began to push chakra to the node and felt the familiar motion. However, this time instead of allowing the chakra to simply pass over the node, he began to prod and pull on the node, hoping to free whatever wanted out of him.
With his body and mind ready, he engaged in a battle more fierce than the Shodaime's fight with Madara, struggling to pop open the cap that held back the ancient beast that was asleep inside his gut. Unfortunately, the seal was incredibly tight, tighter than a virgin on prom night, and Naruto was the jock, desperately trying to break the barrier to the depths beneath. Slowly, the feeling of power filled him, as he pulled the seal open with an unbreakable will.
And his mother had been right, he could practically taste the destruction that the fox desired. He could see Konoha, Suna, even small countries like Kusa, bowing at his feet as he laid ruin upon their homes.
...But the feeling didn't end there. No, despite the deeply grotesque love of demolition, he didn't feel the intense anger that his mother and Mito had described. He could feel a small layer, but nothing overpowering. No, what he felt, was revolutionary. He felt the need to not only destroy the world, but to fix it.
He knew that destruction, constituted creation.
He knew that darkness, lived alongside the light.
He knew…
In spite of his sensory overload, he could still faintly hear his mother, her concern rang clear, even though she, herself, sounded distant and weak. He could feel her arm wrapped around him, hugging tightly, desperate to not let him go. And her face. It was a blob before his eyes, but the tears that streamed down her eyes sparkled with an ethereal light.
But these glimpses of his mother were soon taken, as the darkness began to envelope him, deafening him, making him cold. His vision began to fade, as his sight was taken away, piece by piece. The shadows cutting deeper, tearing into his senses like knives.
Dark.
Darker.
Yet Darker…
Until, finally, his young mind could take no more, and he collapsed to the distant screams of his mother, crying for her child.
The darkness was overwhelming. Even when unconscious, Naruto's mind was stilled filled with shadows. The tendrils reached out from the side of his brain, and consumed all that he knew.
But, all darkness came with light, ever cloud had its silver lining. And, in the back of his soul, Naruto could feel the world around him begin to stir, as the shadows faded from in front of him.
Slowly he could begin to make out a faint sound of… chanting. Chanting that circled all around him, with numerous voices, tones, and feeling. The words they spoke sounded almost like gibberish, but the meaning behind them felt powerful, some were hopeful, some were scared. Hell, some of them were down right obsessive.
And somewhere in his mind, Naruto couldn't help but try to dismiss these voices as a part of some sick, stupid dream. Half expecting that, when he woke up in a few seconds, that he would be back in his bed, ready to go to school again. But, deep down, he could feel the voices and the truth behind the feelings that these creatures, whatever they be, felt.
So, with a heavy head, Naruto attempted to awaken himself from the darkness that enveloped him. Progress was slow, but his body soon came to attention. A twitch of his fingers was first, but his sleeping limbs began to stir along with it.
His arms came next, as he put his hand under himself, feeling the cold rocks underneath, and sat himself up.
The chanting had died down, and only a few murmurs could be heard seldom every few seconds. But Naruto's drive didn't end, as he slowly opened his eyes, and, thankfully, they needed a relatively short amount of time to focus; most likely because of limited, yet present, lighting where he was.
Having finally obtained sight, Naruto quickly fell backwards, shocked at the display before him.
All around him, were roughly sixteen strange humanoid creatures, all with ashen, pale blue skin with dark splotches, and black robes around there bodies. Most looked rather human with typical body types, albeit some were lanky or rotund. Though there were a few that looked like they were ripped straight from a child's chibi drawing; shorter than even Naruto, a child, and adorably chubby, with large eyes. Though, the thing that stood out most to him, they looked scarily like him: with similar skin tones, hair colors, and even runic markings that shined with the same hazy teal light that his birthmarks did.
As he sat in shock, they began to take note of his observation, and knelt before him, begin the same chant they had done before he awoke. This time, the emotions they portrayed were much more light, mostly of happiness and relief.
The Uzumaki gripped his head, confused how he could read they're hearts despite the language gap, and cried out, "What the heck is going on!?"
The strange group was startled by the outburst, recoiling a bit to speak amongst themselves, before one of them moved towards the young lad. This particular creature was one of the lankier ones, at least two and a half times the six of Naruto, with his symbols primarily on his entire right arm and left hand.
Naruto seemed to steel himself, closing his eyes and waiting for some kind of attack, an attack that would never come, as he heard a soft-spoken voice, "I'm sorry, My Lord. Did we do something to upset you?"
Peeking one eye open, he looked in shock at the tall creature, "...My Lord… What're you..." Suddenly, it struck him, and he shot up to look the thing in the eye, "...W-wait, you can understand me?"
The humanoid bowed its head respectfully, "Of course, My Lord. We all speak Hylian, but it is considered an ancient tongue for most."
Naruto had been thoroughly lost by this point, My Lord… Hylian… ancient tongue…? What in the blazes could it all possibly mean? He put his head into his hands and began to roll everything around in his mind, before remembering something important, "Where's Kaa-san!?"
Its eyebrows furrowed at the unfamiliar vernacular, "Kaasan? Is that the pale Gerudo woman who came with you, My Lord?"
Before Naruto could question what his words meant, the crowd moved aside to reveal Kushina passed out a feet away from him. With little to no thought, he stood up and ran to her side, with a cry of "Kaa-san!"
Now kneeling next to his knocked out mother, Naruto could tell that she was otherwise healthy, aside from her consciousness. But, something was different, her sling and bandages were no longer around her arm, exposing her ashen skin with black patches covering the arm, and the same symbols that marred the creatures, the same markings that marred him.
In that moment, Naruto realized something…
These creatures were somehow connected to him and his mother. And he was determined to figure out how deep this little rabbit hole goes.
However, a new voice soon called out, one that immediately arrested his attention, it was playfully, yet regal. Charming, yet dangerous, "And what is with all this noise?"
Turning, Naruto came face to face with another humanoid creature. This time, however, it… No, she seemed to be female, her face charming and heart-shaped, with plump, purple lips that were honed in a cheeky smile, and her eyes were angled and sharp, with a beautiful shade of red. Her head was covered in a black, silk cloth, that framed her orange hair which draped down and tied into one braid that was nestled between her perky breasts, which strangely had no nipples. Trailing down further, her stomach was sleek and scandalous, showing her belly button as well as all of her curves, with long, gorgeous legs, and around them was a thin, black, silk dress that revealed one of her sexy legs.
The look in her eyes were calculating and mischievous, all held in line with her royal appearance. There was only one word to truly describe her beauty…
Heavenly; as if an angel from above had crafted it personally, simply so the world could feast their eyes upon such wonder. One thing was for certain, when he hit puberty, her image was gonna be so plastered in his mind...
However, his eyes were not meant to wander forever, as a laugh ripped him from his gawking. "You've been staring for a while now. Am I so beautiful that you have no words to say?"
That's it for today guys! This chapter introduced the twili and Midna, and next chapter we'll get some more answers, get some questions, start training and all that fun stuff. And we should get to the start of canon by chap four.
But, before I go. Much like last chapter, I have some questions for you all.
Do you like the pacing of the story so far? (kinda a dumb question, since were in the second chapter of a prologue)
What do you all think of the possibility of other Zelda's being involved passed Twilight Princess?
Would you all like a potential Mizuki redemption arc?
Also, which do you prefer, Humanoid or Imp Midna? Personaly, I absolutely love her design for human form, but I just like her Imp form more overall.
And with these questions postulated, I the farewell.
Yours Truly,
-Shadow
(And remember, try to keep the harem suggestions at three or so girls, okay?)
