The mansion was much bigger than they expected. It looked rather out of place in the middle of the woods, but Giotto had explained that having their main base in a location far from civilization was a good thing as not only would it be difficult to find, but if something comes up, no innocent people would be dragged in the mess.

Surely, building a mansion in the woods had its pros, but the walk wasn't good for the kids. They were exhausted and who knew how long they had walked just to get to the front door. The first guardians had explained that they thought of the idea of building it so spies would have a hard time approaching the mansion. If an intruder did enter the radar, one of them would have to come out and deal with said intruder. So far, none have ever reached the front door, which was a good sign. There was also Daemon's illusion, making sure intruders would end up getting lost.

'That's certainly a good strategy,' Gokudera thought. Was that the reason why their mansion was in the middle of a forest, as well?

They rode a carriage on the ride back, but apparently, it wasn't allowed to enter, so they left it on standby just beyond the gate. Knuckles explained that if they used a carriage to go back, the wheels and horses' shoe prints would make marks on the ground, making it easy for intruders to reach their mansion. As for their own shoe prints, they wouldn't really make any tracks if they didn't step on the earth too heavily.

When they arrived, Tsuna's energy was drained. He felt like he just went through one of Reborn's hellish training sessions. His body felt lethargic and his arms and legs felt like cooked noodles swimming in warm chicken broth. The same went for the others, but at least they weren't trying to let anyone see the fatigue on their faces. Gokudera and Yamamoto were exhausted, but they could probably still go another round of walking, not that they wanted to. Enma, on the other hand, had passed out and was now in G's arms. He had insisted on getting off Gokudera's back earlier because the bomber's grip on his legs were too tight, but Tsuna thought that was just so he wouldn't fall down from the bomber's back.

They spotted Alaude on the way and saw that he had already entered the mansion before them, Hibari still on his shoulder. But the boy had finally accepted his fate and stopped struggling, as doing so was just a futile attempt and a complete waste of energy.

When they entered the mansion, Giotto, being the kind person he was, had told the kids to rest before they talked. Tsuna thought he could get lost if he ever had to take a tour by himself. The offer was too tempting to accept, but Gokudera yelled that they never knew what the first generation would do once they were asleep, so discussion first would be the best.

'Of course,' G thought, 'the kids would be wary around us, but as much as I want to discuss things first, the children look like they are about to drop on the spot…and one just did.' The one who collapsed was Giotto's look-alike. His own look-alike panicked, but G said that he was just tired and a rest would be needed. He also promised not to lay a hand on them while they were asleep. "You can stand on guard if you're not too tired, you know." he added, making Gokudera fume. The bomber would definitely guard.

Or perhaps having Ryohei do that would be better as he was still screaming, 'IS THAT IT!?' and seemed to be too full of energy. Where was he getting all that liveliness from anyway?

...

When he came to, Tsuna was lying on a queen-sized bed. His first instinct was to panic and search for his friends, and then sighed in relief when he found that they were all lying on the same bed. The bed was really big and it still had some space left for at least 3 more people.

What happened? He remembered Gokudera talking to G, then his vision going hazy- Oh right, as embarrassing as it sounded, he passed out. His eyes glanced at the window. The curtains were drawn, but he could see that it was already dark outside. How long were they asleep? Did anything happen while they were asleep?

Patting his cheeks harshly, he regained a bit of sense and blinked several times while massaging his heavy eyelids with his fingers. At least he didn't feel tired anymore, but his legs did feel a bit sore when he tried standing up. The moment he stood up to get off the bed, gazing at Chrome's unconscious form.

He went closer to her so he could see if she was alright, making sure not to bump on anyone as he did. When he got closer, he checked her pulse and looked at her stomach. The brunet sighed in relief to find that there was nothing wrong.

"Jyuudaime, what's wrong?" Gokudera asked as he tapped a hand on Tsuna's shoulder. He had woken up when he felt the bed shift and heard the mattress springs creak. He was lying beside Chrome, so he could easily get out of bed if something happened as she was situated near the edge of the bed.

Startled, Tsuna very nearly toppled off the bed when he did a strange half-jump upwards, "Uwaah-!".

"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you!" the bomber apologized, patting the other boy's back when he started panting and screaming more. He thought the other had noticed his presence, but apparently not.

"D-Don't surprise me like that." Tsuna sighed, finally getting over his shock, and then pointed a finger at the Mist Guardian. "Anyway, is Chrome going to be okay?"

"Ah yes! She was given food earlier, but she threw them all up, so Daemon asked the doctor that came earlier to feed her." Gokudera explained, slowly getting off the bed. "Whatever the doctor gave her worked and she's been sound asleep ever since. I think it was some beverage that had 85 grams of amino acids, 100 grams of lipids, 310 milligrams of P, 10 milliliters of MVI-12, 72 mEq of acetate, 5 milliliters of trace elements and a lot more."

Tsuna understood nothing of what the bomber said. All that information was too much for his poor brain. He gave him a brief reply, telling him that explanation was no longer needed and then thanked him for it. Anyway, since Chrome was alright, did that mean that they found out about her organs? Gokudera didn't say anything about it, so maybe not. Hopefully not.

After that, Gokudera had told him what happened so far. When he passed out, they were brought to the room and then tucked into bed. Chrome was first taken to another room, with Ryohei as a guard (Gokudera insisted) and had her checked up. The doctor came rather quickly along with the messenger Primo sent. There wasn't anything wrong with her and when Tsuna inquired if they found out about her organs, Gokudera shook his head, replying that Chrome had managed to complete them in time.

Most of their possessions were taken away as well. Hibari's tonfas, Yamamoto's sword and Gokudera's bombs. G had to question him where he got them, but the bomber merely yelled not to take them away, only to be shrugged off. They were planning on taking Chrome's bag away as well, but the girl insisted that they don't because it was important to her. Tsuna was glad that they didn't check their pockets. He could keep his gloves and pills. To be honest, the brunet was already capable of going into Hyper Dying Will Mode without the pills at any time, same went for Enma, but perhaps Reborn was taking precautions.

Hibari, at that time, was chained to the wall as he wasn't stopping his attacks towards Alaude, but really, it was just payback for doing something shameful. He also had a talk with the First Cloud Guardian but he only responded once saying, "I'll bite you to death." and that was that. Gokudera had to fight him briefly in order to calm him down. By the end, when the first generation guardians interrupted, Hibari had composed himself. That surprised the bomber, but he didn't complain.

Out of the corners of his eyes, Tsuna noticed Hibari by the window, briefly startled because when he first looked towards the window, the other wasn't there.

After that, the remaining conscious children were sent to sleep, Giotto informing them that they would check on them in a few hours and have dinner together, then they could continue their discussion.

"By the way, do you think Enma will be okay with Daemon being around?" Tsuna inquired. After what happened during the Inheritance ceremony, he couldn't be sure of what would happen to his friend's sanity.

Gokudera tilted his head at that, "Didn't he already see him earlier though?" He was sure if Enma was awake during their first encounter. Or maybe he was already half-asleep. The boy was on his back that time, so he couldn't really tell if he managed to give Daemon a side-glance or not.

"U-Uhm, upon knowing his real reason to go that far, I kinda sympathize with him, but...I still can't forgive him..." A quiet voice behind Tsuna stated. Enma had woken up and heard the two discussing something when the brunet had shifted the topic to him. He was glad the other boy cared for his well-being, so he voiced his opinion out. In all honestly, he wasn't sure if he would be fine after having the war flashbacks in his head, all the revelations and everything, but as long as he wasn't alone, he would be fine.

Tsuna, startled, yelped at that. At least it wasn't as loud as earlier.

"O-Oh..." The brunet shook off the surprise, his body twisted awkwardly to face Enma. He wasn't exactly sure of what to say next since remembering the bloodbath that happened that time would be painful for both parties.

The redhead crawled towards them, Gokudera sitting on the edge of the bed, just below Chrome's feet as he made sure he wasn't sitting on her. Tsuna was still on her side and Enma joined him, asking if they had a plan on what to do next. Before they could answer though, the brunet inquired if he was alright or if he felt sore somewhere. Enma smiled at the worries he was getting, replying that he was feeling much better from before, so he shouldn't feel worried or anything.

"Actually, I do think we have another problem." Gokudera mumbled, staring at Enma before continuing. "Your eyes. That's the emblem of the Simon family, right? I'm not sure how the First Generation Guardians didn't notice that earlier, but if we talk to them face to face later, I'm sure they'll notice them this time."

Enma gasped softly, Tsuna following suit. The bomber made a valid point. From the memories they had, the First Simon boss also had the same eyes.

"Uhm, we're not really sure if the Vongola Boss and the Simon Boss had already met though." the redhead retorted, but the chance of that being true was slim.

"But...you never know. I wish Reborn gave us contact lenses for you." Tsuna stated, sighing. For now, they had to think of an excuse for Enma. If Primo was already friends with the first Simon boss, that would mean more problems for them. Coming up with an excuse that says, 'He was born like that!' would be them digging their grave deeper. He doubted Primo and the others would buy it anyway. After all, having the Simon emblem in your pupils when you were not part of the family was downright strange. They couldn't just tell them, 'We're your descendants and we have no idea why we're here!'. Just thinking of what would happen next gave them the shivers.

"S-Sorry..." Enma stammered, unsure of what he needed to do next. Perhaps he could keep his eyes to remain closed the whole time? That wouldn't do well though as he knew Primo and the others would ask if he was still sleepy or something.

Tsuna waved a hand, telling him that he didn't need to apologize. It wasn't really his fault!

"Maybe you can cover them with your bangs? They're a little longer now, anyway." Gokudera suggested, but he knew the others would ask why he was covering them. However, a quick excuse would do the job.

Enma tried doing as said, fixing his bangs to cover his eyes. As expected, it did manage to cover them, but at the price of his eyesight. He could barely see a thing through the cracks of his hair. Gokudera gave him an okay, telling him to do that when Primo and the others arrive. The redhead thought it was weird, but he couldn't complain now when he was the problem. Tsuna put his bangs back to normal, telling him he could stay like that until they arrive.

They had a talk about what to do after that. If all went well, they could stay in the mansion until the bazooka's effect dies down. They also pondered about the discussion they had with Reborn, but so far, they could still hear nothing but static when they were close to remembering. Gokudera mentioned that he felt like something was preventing him from remembering, but couldn't put a finger on it. Tsuna had the same feeling, but Enma mused that perhaps it was the bazooka's effect. After all, it did make them shrink, so the bazooka was not completely innocent.

Their talk was disrupted as a loud crying erupted from the other side of the bed, startling the three. They all shot a glance towards the noise and found a crib.

Lambo was inside, tears and snot pouring out of him.

Another problem was found: they had no idea how to deal with a baby. The usual Lambo wasn't this small and they could pap him and say sweet words to make him stop crying or in Gokudera's case, make him cry until he passed out. It was different now though and the crib was too high! They couldn't reach Lambo at all!

Tsuna headed towards the crib and pushed it towards the edge of the bed as they planned that Gokudera would try and get him that way. As he extended his arms towards the baby, Lambo started screaming, waking the others in the process and annoying Hibari. The baby then grabbed onto the bomber's sleeve, making him lose his balance and falling inside the crib, his head directly hitting Lambo's stomach.

"W-Waa! Lambo!" Tsuna hoped that the baby was fine after that direct hit and wouldn't cause any internal problems because it really looked like Gokudera hit him hard, unintentionally though.

Their screaming caught Primo and the others' attention as they entered their room in a hurry. The scene they witnessed surprised them.

Gokudera was struggling to get out of the crib with Tsuna and Enma's help. Lambo, who looked like he was just crying and now stopped, was being cradled in Chrome's arms. Ryohei was screaming 'EXTREMELY LOST', Hibari looked like he wanted to murder someone and Yamamoto was in between Ryohei and Hibari, trying to stop Hibari from punching the living daylights out of Knuckles' lookalike.

When the children noticed Primo and the others' arrival, Enma quickly covered his eyes with his bangs, Gokudera almost clawing at his face when all he did was stand dumbfounded.

Both parties stared at each other for a moment before Giotto and the others entered the room, closing the door behind them.

"I'm guessing you all had a good rest?" Asari laughed, watching at how energetic the kids were, especially Knuckles lookalike.

Giotto asked the kids to sit down on the bed after they helped Gokudera out of the crib. G wondered how he got in there in the first place, but didn't voiced his question out, knowing that his own lookalike would only respond in a brash manner. Hibari refused to sit with the crowd, so he remained by the window, Alaude not too far from him as he too, refused to sit with them.

The blond asked if they had a good sleep and most of them gave a positive reply. He also asked if there was something wrong with the redhead, but Gokudera answered by saying he was always like that, nothing wrong at all, so he left him at that and he swore he just heard his lookalike and the redhead sigh in relief. "Well, first of all, I believe an introduction is in order." Giotto stated after. They referred to the kids as their lookalikes but they should have names right?

"O-Oh right. I'm Tsunayoshi..." Tsuna replied quietly, needing to repeat himself another time because Primo and the others couldn't hear him. He wasn't sure if giving them their last name was necessary as the First Generation Guardians didn't reveal theirs earlier.

"I'm E-Enma..." Enma hid behind Tsuna, stuck to his back like glue. The action made Tsuna feel awkward and the brunet had to repeat the other's name because he wouldn't speak after that.

Gokudera clicked his tongue before he introduced himself, "I'm Gokudera." G made a comment about how long his name was, making the bomber snap at him, ready to strike, but was stopped by Tsuna. If it wasn't for him, he would have lashed out. The other was seriously getting on his nerves.

"I'm Ryohei and I love boxing to the extreme!" Ryohei introduced himself, throwing punches in the air which made Knuckles mimic his move, telling the boy that he loves boxing as well.

"I'm Yamamoto and this is Lambo and that boy by the window is Hibari." Yamamoto took the liberty of introducing the other two. The skylark shot him a glance, but said nothing. Lambo did nothing, merely snoozing away into Chrome's arms. Why didn't he stop crying when the brunet was cradling him earlier?

"U-Uhm... I'm Chrome..." Chrome murmured. Unlike Enma and Tsuna, she had to repeat herself many times before her boss cut in to tell them her name. She thanked him after that because if they continued to ask her, she wouldn't be able to take the pressure and attention off of her.

Giotto and the others repeated their introductions from earlier, telling them it was just to make things fair. They didn't really need to as they already know who they were, but Tsuna couldn't just come out and say, 'Yeah, we know! You're our ancestors after all!'. Alaude joined in and stated his name before returning to leaning his back against the wall and staring off into the distance.

"So, do you speak Italian?" G asked, noticing how some of them became stiff.

"W-Well, we don't..." Tsuna replied, averting his gaze and wishing he was good at lying. Gokudera could though, but if they told them that, they try to talk to him in an Italian dialect, that would put the bomber on the spot.

Before Giotto voiced out his next question, he wondered if the kids were sent as spies, but his intuition didn't do anything so far, so they should be good for now. And kids as spies? What a joke? Especially if the children looked almost like them. No one could pull such a trick unless the kids came directly from them, which was impossible.

"What about your parents and why are you in Italy?" the blond asked, knowing that he was pressuring the kids. As much as he didn't want to after what they have been through, he had to in order to gain information on them. They barely knew anything about them besides their names after all.

Gokudera responded that they were asking too many questions, making G raise his suspicions. They were definitely hiding something. The fact that they were in Italy and couldn't speak Italian was already strange to begin with and no adults around them were even stranger. The children didn't look like they planned on answering their questions though and all of them turned their heads to Tsuna, who spoke up after that.

The brunet had no idea what to say, really. But flat out saying they were from the future would probably cause more trouble for them. Worse, Alaude might throw in to jail until they found information on them. He couldn't expect them to believe their story right off the bat, after all.

"Uhm." Tsuna started, gaining everyone's attention, including Alaude and Hibari. "We can't really say our purpose or reveal anything for now. But I swear we mean no harm and promise not to do anything that will cause you trouble." Not like they were capable of scratching them anyway, he mentally added.

There was silence after he finished his statement. Primo and the others looked like they were contemplating on what to do or say next. Gokudera, by his side, bowed his head at him and said something like, 'As expected of Jyuudaime!'.

"Well, do you promise to tell us everything, uh, next time?" Giotto questioned, earning a complaint from G, who was silenced after he raised a hand.

"U-Uhm. We'll tell you when the time comes, but I promise we mean no harm!" The brunet raised his voice a little. He wanted to express himself properly and tell them they didn't come here to cause chaos, but as much as he wanted to tell them the reason why they came to their era, they couldn't as they still haven't recovered their memories.

Giotto stared at the kids. His intuition wasn't acting up or anything, so the children might be telling them the truth. He was curious, of course, and he wanted to ask them why he couldn't tell them their reasons now, but prevented himself from doing so.

"Alright. If you promise to tell us when the time comes then we'll ask no more." The blond smiled at them and his lookalike.

Tsuna beamed at him. The child on his back made some happy noises and the rest of the kids, excluding Gokudera, Hibari and Lambo, smiled at them and thanked them for trusting them.

G wasn't sure what Giotto was planning, trusting kids he barely knew. He couldn't really make an objection right now, seeing how the other guardians were happy with his decision. Perhaps they would have a meeting after dinner, he couldn't just go agreeing without telling everyone his true intentions after all.

"T-Thank you so much! But uhm, what's going to happen to us now?" Tsuna asked, tilting his head. Since they didn't really tell them anything, that meant they couldn't stay in the mansion, right? He wasn't sure if Primo believed what he said earlier, but he hoped he did. Because he really couldn't say anything when there was a gaping hole in his memory.

"Oh right. Maybe you can stay here in the meantime?" Giotto offered. He got some positive responses, but G made some displeased noises at the back of his throat. Definitely a meeting later. The blond couldn't put a finger on it, but he felt like that was the right choice and having kids in the mansion wouldn't be a bad thing. They even looked a lot like them, so the kids passing as their sons and daughter didn't feel like a bad thing either.

"Now that that's over, let's go and eat dinner!" Asari chimed, Ryohei and Yamamoto agreeing in the background.

Alaude and Hibari had already left the room minutes ago and Giotto thought about how the two grew close in just a short time. Was the word 'close' even the right word to describe their relationship? Hopefully they wouldn't just bash each other's heads or something.

...

After the dinner, they all had a small talk. G was still asking why and how Gokudera had bombs around his waist, Asari asking about Yamamoto's bamboo sword and Daemon having a one-sided talk with Chrome. The girl seemed to be really scared of him and he didn't understand why.

When the dining room was cleaned up, they sent the kids back to their room as some of them were still tired from earlier.

Now, they were in Giotto's room, sitting on the couch.

"First of all, why?" G was the first to speak when they all settled down, earning a few glances.

"Well, my intuition didn't act up." Giotto explained, sipping on his tea, "And I can't just leave them out in the streets now, can I?"

Asari and Knuckles agreed to that, telling G that leaving them would be equal to making them starve to death in the streets, adding that they almost got in trouble earlier due to that nobleman. Who wasn't a nobleman at all, Lampo added.

"Are you aware of our situation? We're a mafia family, Giotto. We can't just bring in kids here! What if they get kidnapped and use them for ransom or something?"

G made a valid point, Giotto complimented, but so long as they protected the kids and kept a careful eye on them, nothing bad would happen. And Alaude had returned them their possessions aside from Gokudera's bombs, so if something minor came up, Hibari could just attack on them like how he did with those escorts.

"Well, do you remember what happened when we first met?" Daemon stated, keeping a steady gaze on G as the other rolled his eyes at him.

"Right, right. They beat those guys, but they're not part of the mafia! People from the mafia are way stronger than those guys, alright!?" G slammed his fists against the table, startling Lampo, who was trying not to listen because it was a boring conversation anyway and he had nothing to do with it.

Knuckles laughed at G's outburst, "I guess you're right, but you know, it's useless to think about it in the end."

"What?" Lampo inquired, not quite sure what the sun guardian was talking about. Weren't they having this meeting because of the kids? Why would it be useless to think about their safety? Not like he liked them anyway.

"Because there's just no perfect solution. So for the time being, let's keep them until they tell us their real intentions." Knuckles declared, earning a nod from their boss.

G slumped, "But if we don't think it through, we don't know what will happen to the children." He knew he wasn't going to win this, but he was trying. Dragging kids into their mess would be something he couldn't live with.

"In that case, if something does happen, then we should devote all we can to resolve it. After all, things that are bound to happen will happen regardless." Asari added.

"So don't be so distressed by things that didn't even happen yet." Giotto stated, placing his cup down as his other hand picked a biscuit on the basket. His best friend sure was a worrywart.

G resigned then, telling them they were right and they would just have to see what would happen next. The blond admitted that he wasn't sure why he wanted them to stay, but a part of him said that letting the kids stay was the obvious and most normal decision he could make. It felt right, and strangely, it felt natural. Like the kids were bound to be there.

As soon as it was over, Alaude left the room, telling them he had some business to do regarding the nobleman from earlier. Giotto wondered if their Cloud Guardian was fine with the decision, but when he asked, the other merely shrugged and then left. That was an okay, right?

The others left as well, but G stayed, telling Giotto that he still had paperwork to do and a lot more papers to sign from other families. The blond groaned, saying he wanted to sleep, but went to his desk after the light snack.

"I'm not really sure what's going to happen tomorrow, but here's to hoping it'll be a nice day for us and the children." If he had to be honest, G wasn't completely on-board about letting the kids stay in the mansion as he still couldn't bring himself to trust them, even if they were just kids. He thought that the children being their lookalikes was already strange in itself. He couldn't help but think that there was something behind all that and for his curiosity to be sated, he would have to wait until they revealed their card, which would probably take a while.

"You're right." Giotto agreed, checking most of the documents on his table. Perhaps he could ask Alaude to search for the children's information. They didn't reveal much aside from their names, well, first names, but the blond couldn't bring himself to ask more than he already has.

No, he should trust them and leave it at that. After all, his intuition was never wrong.

A/N: Regarding Enma's eyes, if I didn't read the wikia I wouldn't notice. Anyway, I usually make sure to read the fic again before posting but I'm feeling lazy so I'll just leave it like that. I'm so sorry OTL

5 more chapters to go and the renovation will be complete. After the 7th chapter, I won't update regularly!
