Fall
It all started in kindergarten.
Erza, ever the ambitious one, had skipped the whole way to what she deems as a happy place. She met up with Levy, her only friend, a friend since birth. They met each other at just a few months old, although Erza was a year older then Levy, and they quite liked each other. They were a pretty contrast, Levy with her outrageous blue hair, apparently Levy's mother had dyed her own hair blue once and it never came out. Thus passing onto Levy. It was a beautiful sight.
Erza's mother stayed behind, by the entrance door as she gave Erza a kiss on the cheek and a slight nudge into the room. She started talking to some of the other parents as they all waved goodbye and the door shut close.
The teacher called everyone up to sit in a circle on the wide carpet, and proceeded to introduce everyone. Erza sat closely to Levy, she knew no one else. But on her right sat a boy, with spiky unruly black hair and patronizing eyes. She dipped her head to the side, curious on what was getting on his nerves.
They were let out in the afternoon, and Erza latched on to her mother's hands happily, waving goodbye at Levy and her new friend, Gray Fullbuster. The boy's cheeks reddened and he hid his face in his mother's skirts. So she and her mother went on their way, but they stopped at a small cafe, just to get a piece of strawberry cake. All was well.
Father soon came home, and Erza enveloped her father in a hug, and she laughed and squealed as he carried her up onto the stools of the kitchen. Watching as her mother cook, the smell of the food wafting into the room.
Everything was a happy thing. The room was a colorful yellow, with lovely smells of the cinnamon bun in the oven and the lovely decorations her father would always get filled the room. Best of all, laughter lit up the room and Erza Scarlet couldn't have been happier.
A faint memory, at 2 years old, but a great one nonetheless.
Winter
The snow poured on and on. Little Erza watched with happy glee as the snow fell, and rolled out of her bed. She ran all the way to her parents bedroom and rapted on the door with urgency. A tired father stood before her, but his dimples appeared as he smiled and asked her what she was doing up so early. She jumped up and down, tugging on his sleeve that outside, was snow, and she wanted to build a snow fort.
He smiled and told her to be patient and get dressed first and she ran back to her room and tried to tug on her sweater. Her mother appeared by her doorway and she laughed as she saw her daughter's current state. She picked out a sweater, a jacket, a hat and gloves and tugged them on little Erza. Her mother then gave her a warm cookie and told her to stay in the yard.
Munching on the cookie, Erza ran down into her lobby, tripping over carpets as she put on her new winter boots. She thrust the door open and made a charge for it. Self esteem high until the snowball came.
Now her backside was covered in snow and she yelled out in terror, realizing it was only snow, she looked around, looking for the cruel person. Erza's years picked up on faint giggling and she gasped, as Levy and two girls she did not know yet, an funny mix of colors, and they laughed loudly in the bushes.
Levy smiled and waved at her, beckoning her over, introducing her to the rest of the crew. There was Lisanna and Mira, the latter one being her moral enemy for the next 10 years. Mira was the one to throw the snowball, so in revenge, Erza threw one back and watched in satisfaction as it sunk into the pale haired girl's sweater and Mira squealed.
Thus a snowball fight started, and the entire block joined in. Snow went flying everywhere, and nearly everyone was shivering out of cold, but also slight happiness. She saw the spiky haired boy again, only this time, he was laughing loudly and pummeling snowballs in a t-shirt and at a pink haired boy.
This closes a year for Erza Scarlet. Friends and enemies anew.
