"I don't know what I'll do next though."
Gamma looked into Smith's eyes, wiped away the tears and said, "Don't worry, but for now, just get some sleep."
"The others?"
"Don't know anything and don't have to know."
Smith nodded and slowly got up. Gamma walked him over to the bed, as he walked out, he gave his partner a reassuring smile.
He said everything would be fine, but he waited outside the door. He knew the nightmares would come. Nightmares, they always came, why couldn't we forget?
Time stood still as he sat outside. But soon, he could hear his friend talking…it was quiet at first. "It's not my fault, no…go away…" But, then it got louder; Smith was shouting, "Stop! Please!"
Gamma was in the room at once. He shook Smith awake, "Shhh, it's alright, it's just bad a dream." But that was never true, they're never just bad dreams.
"I-I don't want to go back to sleep. I don't think I can."
"It's almost morning… let's just go outside."
The sun was rising and it lit up Smith's face, the fear, the pain, and the sorrow, it all showed. "Let's go for a walk, eh?" Gamma was not going to let his friend think about the nightmares.
Smith nodded, but he felt weighed down, he didn't want to move. He followed Gamma close, he feared separation.
