Told you I was continuing! Did you like the first chapter? I hope so! The date between Beckett and Dr. Hunt will be in the next chapter; this was just to start some sparks between the two ladies. :]

"You're late." Dr. Megan Hunt said, barely looking up from her opened corpse when Kate Beckett and Richard Castle walked into the lab. "It's Castle's fault. He wanted doughnuts." Beckett said, making a rather lazy look toward her partner in fighting crime. "Mr. Castle, when I say meet me here to get your results, I don't mean when you feel like it, or if you have time, I mean get your ass over here. NOW!" The last command was a little loud, and Castle was rather taken aback, and it was all Beckett could do to not laugh. "Aye Aye Captain!" Castle said, shutting up.

"So, what have we got Dr. Hunt?" Beckett asked, moving closer to the table where the body was. "Like I said earlier, gunshot wound to the temple, but that's not what killed him. That happened perimortum, probably as he was dying, just to shut him up, but he was poisoned." Kate cocked an eyebrow, and Castle came in closer, like a 6 year old listening in to his parent's grown-up conversation.

"So when someone said to him 'pick your poison', they meant literally?" Castle asked, poking the body. "Not so much Mr. Castle. He had a cocktail of things in his system. Amongst the large quantities of what I think is vodka in his system, Mr. Doe here had lethal amounts of arsenic, mercury, and cyanide in his system. And based on the way his face looks, it was the cyanide that killed him." Megan hunt showed Beckett the man's stomach contents, and she noted the different discolorations of the liquid, and the heaviness of the container. "His tox hasn't come back from the lab yet, how did you know cyanide?" Beckett asked, looking at the deceased's face.

"I've got the nose." Megan said, pointing at her own nose with a gloved finger. "Wait…" Castle began, moving closer to Megan. "You can smell cyanide? I thought that stuff was virtually undetectable by humans? I thought it had no taste or odor!" Megan looked at Beckett with a 'is he really doing this?' look, and when Beckett nodded she answered Castle's question. "That is true Mr. Castle, but there are a rare few who can detect it. I happen to be one of them."

"That is sooo cool! This is going in the book!" Castle said in his quirky way before stepping away to take some notes.

"So, Detective Beckett…" Megan began, filling the all of a sudden awkward silence with random conversation. "Are you and Mr. Castle over there together?" Beckett looked up at the doctor, and then looked back down at the body. "No, we aren't. And you aren't the first person to ask that either…" She drifted off when she noticed some odd bruising on the victim's arm.

"So, you wouldn't mind joining me for dinner this evening?" Megan asked, all of a sudden, and catching Kate off guard. "I um uh…yeah sure…if I am not working…come check out this bruising on the vic's arm. Do you recognize this pattern?"

Megan stepped over next to Beckett, and the doctor's scent invaded Kate's senses. "Hmmm…that is an odd pattern" Megan began, becoming slightly intoxicated by the light scent of cherries coming from Beckett. "I think…that is…yep!" Megan said this just as Castle walked out of the room, and she grabbed the magnification light just to make sure her deduction was correct. "What have you got?" Kate asked, moving closer to Megan, the scent of lavender emanating from the doctor nearly making her dizzy. "Our man was a bowler." Megan said, looking at Beckett for a moment, and then averted her eyes. "A bowler? How do you know that?" Beckett was slightly confused now, and a little dazed too from inhaling Megan's scent. "My husband liked bowling. He would get into fights all the time when he was drunk too, and once there was a bowling ball involved. Notice the two separated indentions right there? That's where the finger holes were when it hit him." Kate nodded in acknowledgement, and leaned in closer to get a better look at the holes. "You're married?" She asked, not wanting to go out with a married woman. "Divorced" Megan began, "and my ex is now dating my boss. Oh what great fun that is."

"Oh, I see." Beckett stated, regaining her confidence again. For whatever weird reason that is was, something suddenly sparked between the two, and they said "You smell like…" in unison before realizing they were saying the same thing. Kate then said hers first, stating, "I was just going to say you smell like lavender." She said, laughing. "That's funny", Megan said with a smile, "I was going to say you smell like cherries." Suddenly the two women were smiling at each other, and then Castle walked in and broke the moment.

"Sorry to interrupt your girl talk ladies, but Ryan and Espo got a suspect, and they are bringing him back to the precinct now." Beckett stood erect, and started to leave, when she turned around and quickly said, "7:30 ok? I'll call you." Megan nodded in agreement and went to taking photos of the body when Castle and Beckett left the room.
