The world had been saved. Everything was back to normal, for now. Rose was blissfully happy. As they were flying the Earth home, every so often, the Doctor would pull her away from the others in the group and kiss her up against the coral. He couldn't believe she was back and he intended to take full advantage of being in the same universe as her.

"I love you. I love you. I love you" The Doctor mumbled in between kisses. Rose smile got a little bit wider every time he said it.

"Doctor, has Donna made you into an old school romantic?" Rose teased, wondering what had changed in him. He never used to be so transparent with his feelings.

"No. You leaving did." the Doctor muttered sadly against her cheek. Rose's smile faded and she took his chin with her hand and made him look at her.

"Doctor, I'm in love with you and there is no way I'm going anywhere ever again. Let's just avoid levers for a while, yeah?"

The Doctor smiled at Rose and gently took her hand away from his chin and intertwined in with his. Rose continued talking.

"And I know I'm human so I will eventually die, but I wanna die in your arms, after one of our adventures. Slitheen wound or something."

The Doctor looked at her seriously and said,

"Well… the big speech I made about you withering and dying back outside that school isn't strictly true anymore so who knows"

Rose looked at him in surprise "What?"

The Doctor opened his mouth to explain but was interrupted by Jack calling out,

"Doctor, Rose, you big ol' lovebirds, we're back, Earth is back!"

The Doctor and Rose shared a look before joining the rest.

One by one the Doctor's companions went home, even Donna. She was going to re-join them later, but she thought they could do with some time to themselves. After Donna gave both of them a big hug each and walked out, they were finally alone. Rose started walking around the control room stroking the TARDIS. When the Doctor noticed, he smirked and teased her.

"Oi! I remember you and Sarah Jane taking the mick about me stroking the old girl, and now look!"

Rose looked up with tears in her eyes.

"I…I uh… I missed her. A lot. Both of you. When I looked into the time vortex she became a part of me. Sometimes late at night, I could still hear her" Her voice cracked at the end of the sentence and she started crying softly for the millionth time that day. The Doctor rushed over and wrapped Rose up in a tight embrace.

"She missed you too Rose" he whispered into her hair. The TARDIS hummed in agreement.

"She threw a fit when I brought Martha on board. Tried to push her out of the door" he laughed.

Rose started to laugh too. She patted he TARDIS and said "Atta girl"

"Oh no, don't make our TARDIS the new Shireen!" the Doctor said, pulling a face. He was still holding Rose tightly like she could fade any second. Rose pretended not to notice that he said 'Our TARDIS' rather than 'my' or 'the'.

"Doctor, I'm knackered. Hopping between universes and fighting Daleks really wears you out" Rose suddenly yawned loudly, proving her point.

The Doctor picked Rose up honeymoon style which made her giggle, and took Rose to his room, not hers. Rose looked questioningly at him and said "Your room?" Wondering why he walked straight past her door.

"Our room" The Doctor corrected, blushing. "Of course, your room still has all your stuff so if you'd rather sleep in there…"

Rose interrupted "No, no here's fine"

The Doctor laid her down on the bed. She wriggled out of her shoes, jacket and jeans and crawled under the covers. He removed his shoes, suit and tie and climbed in next to her. She scooted over next to him and he instantly wound his arm around her, kissing the top of her head. He just couldn't believe she was back home like doomsday never happened.

"Doctor, what did you mean earlier about the dying thing, the speech?"

The Doctor was quiet for a while and then answered.

"When you were travelling with me, I was looking into ways to make you Time Lord, so we really could stay together forever. And well, the thing is, I found a way. If we marry, then the TARDIS will transform you into a Time Lord."

Rose shot straight up and looked at the Doctor, her eyes wide.

"What?! How?! Why the hell didn't you mention that before?"

"Well, you looked into the time vortex. Like you said, the TARDIS became part of you. Transferred some Time lord DNA. It's inactive at the moment but if we got married then during the ceremony your Time Lord DNA would wake up and take over the human DNA. As for the why didn't I mention it? It's practically a proposal I wanted to make it special. But after I lost you I realised it's never going to be the perfect time. Especially not with us."

Rose gasped, and jumped on the Doctor kissing him repeatedly all over, and ended up straddling him.

"I would love to. Oh Doctor, forever on the TARDIS, with you. It's perfect".

The doctor stroked her thighs absent-mindedly and asked softly,

"So you'll marry me?"

Rose beamed and said "Yes, I'll marry you Doctor."

The Doctor leaned up into her ear and whispered what his real name was.

He then suddenly got out of bed and started fumbling around in his coat pocket. Rose was thoroughly confused until he turned around with a little black box in his hand. He walked back over and got into bed, and slid the engagement ring onto Rose's finger. She admired it for a second before turning to give the Doctor a well-deserved snog.

"Where, when did you get this? It's beautiful"

The Doctor took her finger and pointed to the outer loop of the diamond.

"This part I took from Queen Victoria's diamond after we destroyed the wolf. It was a secret parting gift" He then pointed to the inner circle "And this bit I got from the Rose galaxy. It was just floating about in space."

"Wow" Rose said, seriously impressed.

"I want forever" The Doctor said, looking straight into Rose's eyes. Rose's soul.

"Forever" Rose agreed.
