Chapter 2
-July 23rd 1960-
"No, no. I know she's here." Charles Xavier said, pressing his fingers to his temple, looking for thoughts, a brain, "She showed up on the scanner, she has to be here. I'm just surprised she was so close to home, so close to WestChester County." His face went red in concentration, looking for some brain waves. Erik sighed, and grabbed his hand.
"She must not be here." He growled. "Let's go." Charles groaned and began to walk away, before abruptly stopping, as if stopped in time. "Let's go!" Erik commanded, before he was shushed by Charles.
"Wait." He calmly called, "I think I hear something." Charles closed his eyes, and was teleported to girls mind.
Charles stood in a void, a black room that stretched endlessly on all sides. "Hello?" He called, looking all around him. "I'm Charles Xa-" He was cut off by a voice and a figure appearing from the fog.
I know who you are. The female voice vibrated through the chasm. The question is, what do you want. She paused, little by little appearing closer to Charles. And do not try to read my mind, you are already in it. I choose to hide the rest from you, Charles Xavier.
"Uh..." He stuttered, gaining his bearings. "I want to tell you you aren't alone." He got back on his rehearsed path, continuing his speech.
Ha! The voice laughed. I didn't know that! She sarcastically answered. Her outline got clearer, her blond hair starting to show.
"You did?" He cried, confused. "Well..." He coughed "Want to join our group?" He gave up and waited for her to answer.
So, you think that since I've only been awake for two years, I'll just follow you like a lost puppy? She growled. No.
Charles frowned and began to press his temple to his fore and middle finger, before a beam of ice shot out from the darkness and grabbed his wrist. Don't try me, Psychic. She growled.
"At least I know your power..." He feigned a smile. "Can we at talk in person?" The figure stopped moving and stuck out her hand. Fine.
A sharp pain split Charles's mind, and the world and the stranger he was in dissapeared, to be exchanged for the real world, where he was being shaken awake by Erik.
-
"What happened?" Erik yelled. "What went on in there?" Charles only waved his hand and looked through all the forest openings, looking in the trees and canopies. He didn't notice the ice starting to seep through the ground, forming and cracking over the grass. Erik glanced at the ground, and noticed the ice. "Get away from that!" He grabbed Charles and dragged him away from the frost, moving him by his metal bracelet.
A female voice laughed. "Who thought you, of all people, controller of metal, would be scared of ice?" The ice spread, and a figure appeared in on the cold, wearing a long dress made of ice.
"Is she a mind reader?" Erik mumbled, frowning to Charles. Occasionally looking at the attractive figure that was speaking to them.
Before Charles could speak, the 19 year old cut him off and glared. "I believe I can speak for myself." She growled, walking up to Erik, getting close to his face and squinting. "I haven't seen you before." She whispered.
"And you've seen him?" He cried, backing off. "Who the hell are you?" The girl only smirked and poked Erik's nose, freezing him.
"The name's Jezebelle. But you all can call me Frost." She turned on her heels and glided away, creating ice under her feet. "And your friend, Charles. He'll thaw out in about, what, 2 hours?" She laughed and walked up to Charles. "I lied earlier. I will join your team. But..." She smiled. "Just for the fun of it." Giggling, she slid back into the forest, disappearing in the black haze of dense foliage.
