Sitting on towels on the sand, Regina and Mary Margaret watched how the former prince and his daughter played with the youngest of the family. Meanwhile, Henry seemed to make friends a few feet away from them, a group of boys and girls that played with an inflatable ball in the water having invited him to join them. "He looks like he is having fun, doesn't he?" the younger woman told Regina, glancing at the boy and then to the others. It was the perfect picture of a happy family, and even if she thought she was taking part of it she still felt as she did not belong to it anyway.
"Yes. It's good that he is making friends now, he is not really popular in Storybrooke." she muttered.
"Being the son of the Ev— the mayor— was not something that helped."
"Or maybe the fact that with ten years old he still believed in fairy tales. We'll never know." Regina rolled her eyes and sighed, deciding to take a sip of her Mai Tai. Licking her lips, her eyes moved back to the blonde woman playing with the baby near them, the sight making her smile. "I think I'm going to lie down and get a nice tan." she muttered to herself, opening her purse and taking her iPod and her earphones. Nothing better to relax in the beach than music and a good cocktail… Rolling on the towel, she selected a song and sighed, taking off her sunglasses and resting her head on the inflatable pillow she had brought with her. Soon she was completely relaxed, except for the slight pain on her chest now that she had it pressed against the sand. "Ugh." she ended up groaning.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked, making the older woman turn and sit up. The blonde had been replaced by her mother, who now played with the baby and her husband, and now the savior was spreading a red towel on the sand. With a smile, she sat down and glanced at Henry, checking that he was still playing with the other teenagers before reaching to take a cold beer bottle from the small table Regina's cocktail was on.
"My chest… I'm uncomfortable."
"Oh." the blonde's eyes widened slightly and licked her lips, eyes unwillingly falling to the woman's cleavage. Truth was, Regina had always been well endowed, and sometimes Emma had found herself slightly jealous of her body— which at the same time didn't mean she wasn't happy with her own body. But Regina, she had heard so many stories about her peculiar outfits in the Enchanted Forest. The woman had a fine cleavage, that was it. "I can fix that." the blonde laughed and moved to kneel next to Regina. Putting the inflatable pillow away and then folding the top of the towel, Emma started digging two holes in the sand. "See?" she ended up asking when she was finished, looking at the two holes and then to the brunette. "What do you think?"
"My boobs aren't that big, Miss Swan."
"Let me check?" the woman laughed, moving her hands to make as if she was going to grab the other's breasts. Regina quickly moved back, not letting her and rolling her eyes but letting out a loud laugh. After giving the woman's shoulder a soft push, the brunette turned and started placing her towel properly again. "You're not getting anywhere near my boobs, Miss Swan."
"Oh, what a shame."
The day passed slowly, all of them enjoying a buffet of exotic meals before going to spend the afternoon in one of the swimming pools of the resort. Emma and Henry played volleyball against the blonde's parents, while Regina took care of the sleeping baby on her lap. Even if Mary Margaret hadn't been really enthused by the idea of leaving her son with the woman, even if she was going to be a few feet away, David and Emma had convinced her that the woman would not turn the baby into a living fireball.
"Come on, Regina, join us!" the savior shouted between laughs as she watched Mary Margaret struggle in the water to reach the ball. "Mom is a terrible player!"
"Yeah, mom! I know you'll play better than grandma!"
"Everyone would play better than your grandmother, Henry." the mayor laughed, receiving a resentful glare from the woman in question. Standing up, she untied the piece of fabric around her hips and took off the hat and sunglasses. Putting her hair up with a claw clip, she smiled. "In what team would I be in?"
"You wanna go with Henry? Make this a Mills versus Charming game?" Emma smirked, swimming to the other side of the next and occupying the spot Mary Margaret had just left free— already being drying herself and checking on Neal. Regina nodded and slowly sat on the edge of the pool, then got in and walked towards her son. "I'll take that as a yes. Get ready to feel my anger, Mayor Mills."
"You wish, Savior."
"Hey mom, mom... so, uh… Annie— and well, the others too— want to go to the fair near the beach…" Henry started, making both women smirk. It was quite obvious how the boy seemed to like the girl he had met that same morning. A teenage crush does not do any harm. Poor kiddo, if he only knew what girls are like at that age… "And maybe you could drive us there? Annie and I, the others will be there already…"
Emma smiled, going to say yes but being stopped by her mother. "We'll take you," the woman offered as she made sure the baby was dry after having been playing in the pool. "David and I wanted to go there this evening with Neal, we'll drive you there."
"I'm not, thank you." Regina told with a nonchalant tone. She had booked a massage in the spa that night, and was honestly not in the mood to go to a fair. It seemed selfish, but she also knew that if she did go with them she would be too worried about Henry to actually let him enjoy his date. "If Annie comes with you in the car we wouldn't fit, so I'll stay here and relax for tonight. We'll go another day."
"Okay mom." Henry nodded and turned to his other mom. "Mom, are you coming?"
"Of course, kiddo."
Letting out a sigh, Regina walked out of the spa and made her way to the bungalow. She hadn't walked passed the pool when she saw a big sign hanging from one of the streetlights that enlightened the path. "Hawaiian party. Tonight at nine in the resort's bigger pool." she read, raising a brow and pondering the possibility. A mojito wouldn't be a bad idea… she thought, smirking slightly and keeping on walking. The sun was about to set, and by this time everyone would be having fun on the fair. She sighed, thinking of her little boy going on a date— no matter how hard he tried to hide it, she knew him too well to not to notice. And he wasn't that good of a liar after all. Taking out the key of the bungalow and going to get it in the hole, she realized that the small house was already unlocked. "Hello?"
"Hey, Regina!" she spotted Emma in the kitchen of the bungalow, making herself what seemed to be grilled cheese sandwich. "Was the massage good?"
"Uh, yeah." the woman frowned, not knowing why the other would be there. "Weren't you going to the fair with Henry and your parents?"
"Oh come on, poor kid wants to have a date with a girl, no teenage boy wants his mother around there."
"And the two idiots won't be controlling him all night? Ha."
"You get what I mean. My parents aren't that bad."
"That's because you've only met them for like two years."
"Anyway, are you going to the pool party?"
"The hawaiian one?"
"Yeah."
"Maybe. Why?"
"We could go together if you want."
"Are you asking me out on a date, Miss Swan?"
"Yes."
