Chapter Two
Eren's POV
Eren yawned, it had been a really long day at his photography studio. He stretched in is seat and twisted to get the cricks out of his back.
He glanced up and saw his secretary, a nice young girl named Petra, organizing some final papers.
"Almost done Petra?"
She startled and peeked at him. "Yes, sir."
"No need for formalities." She just nodded her head in a noncommittal way. Eren sighed. "Anyway, can you lock up? I have somewhere I need to be."
Petra nodded. "Have a nice evening."
"You too." And with a final nod of his head Eren left the studio.
He glanced both ways down the crowded street and turned to walk back towards his apartment complex. He planned to stop at that tea shop which Hanji had showed him all those days ago again. He had been going there every single day since then. To gaze at the man... And to enjoy some of the cities best tea of course.
As he stepped through the door a bell jingled and he employee at the counter looked at him. It was the man with the black hair again...
There was nobody else in the cafe, the man was the only employee working at the moment and Eren was the only customer.
Eren walked up to the counter and the man opened his mouth to speak. "Earl grey?" Eren simply nodded and went to sit at a small table near the counter. He watched the man make a cup of the steaming tea, and then make a second cup.
And then he did the unspeakable. Usually when Eren walked in here he would order his tea, sit at a table for a moment, and when it was done he would go pick it up from where the man set it on the counter and then walk back to the table while the man strode into a back room. But today the man walked around the counter to the table where Eren was sitting and sat the tea down in front of him, then sat down and sipped from the other cup he had brought.
Eren stared at him wide eyed. "Tch. What?"
"Umm... nothing." Eren shook himself and accepted the fact that the man was going to drink a cup of tea with him.
But Eren glanced back up after a few moments. "What's your name?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Because it would be nice to know the name of the server in my favorite tea shop."
The man paused for a moment before saying, "Levi."
Eren nodded his head and presented his hand to Levi. "Nice to meet you Levi. I'm Eren."
Levi blinked at him in what Eren took as surprise before he shook his hand.
And then it was quiet, with only the sounds of clinking china and the occasionally slurp of tea.
Eren eventually stood up and gave Levi a nod of parting along with the words, "See you tomorrow, Levi."
Levi moved his head slightly down, as a way of saying he heard and it was his parting as well. No more words were spoken, only the jingle of the bell as the door opened, and it's swoosh as it closed.
Eren began to walk down the street again. He had about half and hour to go before he had to be where he told Petra he was going.
The doctors office.
His headaches had been getting worse and worse, he was starting to have trouble hearing and seeing at times, and he was exhausted no matter how much he slept.
He had made an appointment at his doctors office, in hopes to get this fixed.
Levi's POV
Levi sighed as he stood up once Eren had left.
He didn't know what came over him to make him drink tea with him. He was the shop owner and Eren was a customer, and the shop owner didn't share tea with his customers no matter how intriguing they were.
But there was something about Eren that really drew him in. He hoped it wasn't just the dreams which had changed ever since he had met Eren. They had shifted from just Eren's death to happier moments. Moments where they were alone and spoke for hours on end. Moments where they would share tea together, similar to what had just occurred. Moments where he would yell and curse at Eren, when really all he wanted to do was kiss him.
But there were other moments to. There were times where he was horrible to Eren, where even in the realm of his subconscious he could tell just how pissed, and terrified, and depressed he was— particularly when he was by himself brooding and then the brat would stumble in. There was one nightmare where he beat Eren within an inch of his life, he woke up screaming the next morning, shivering from the fake emotion flowing through him from the dream.
And Levi had also dreamed of his attempted suicide.
In the dream it seemed to be a few days after Eren had died. Levi remembered the emotion he felt in the dream, it was worse then any other dream, and if it got worse then that he would surely go insane from it. Levi remembered how he went to jump of the roof of the castle when a young black haired girl yanked him back.
"What the fuck are you doing!?" She yelled at him. "Eren would want you to live!"
"It doesn't matter what Eren would have wanted. He's dead." He said with an even tone and an apathetic voice.
The girl smacked him across the face.
"It doesn't matter because he's gone, you say?" She punched him in the stomach. "Eren is only gone when you let him be gone." She kicked his legs out from under him and jabbed his chest, above where his throbbing heart was. "He's alive as long as you remember him and cherish the memory." She jabbed him again. "And if you don't get it together soon, then he really will be gone."
The man collapsed to the ground and didn't move when she let him go.
She turned to him again. "Kill yourself, sure. But if you do that then Eren will truly be gone."
And with that she stalked off.
'Forget him? I could never forget Eren...' It was then that Levi vowed to never forget Eren, ever.
sorry this took so long to get up, just lost my inspiration half way through...
