I opened my eyes and arched my back. It was close. I leaped on all four from one branch to another. The forests of Canada were adequate enough. I saw it dart in my peripheral view and within a second I had its head in my hands and I jerked its neck back killing the elk instantly.

I could almost feel my red eyes shift to a honey to gold as I drank the blood that seeped from the elk's neck. When I was done I hastily walked away from the lifeless carcass leaving the meat for the wolves.

It had been eight years ago today that a mysterious stranger named Jane saved me from my father's wrath. I pictured her bronze and honey yellow hair and her black irises.

I had only seen her once after that, far, far away in Voltera.

"What do you mean, you can see?" Jane had asked as we staled down a long corridor.

"I can see, everything! Near and far just by closing my eyes. I can see myself..." I answered.

"Oh!" Jane had hiccuped.

"Is this natural for a vampire?" I asked.

"Well, I have my own gift."

I looked at her in mock horror. I was scared. I could barely control it.

"Aro will be very interested in this."

I breathed in the fresh scent of pine and let the memory continue.

"Ahh, you must be Jenson?" said a dark haired man with pale almost translucent skin. He touched my arm. I was standing in a large alcove in the sewers of Volterra being, examined.

"It's Jenz!" I sneered and pulled my arm back.

I smelt it then, as I did n my memory the smell of animal blood not of human blood as the rest of the Voltori smelt. But now in the present I smelt it again.

I turned and saw a blond curly haired girl with golden eyes standing next to a bronze haired boy and a brown haired girl.
