Chapter 2
Soo, I'm pretty sure that all of these chapters are going to be fairly short, like the max is ~ 500-700 words because I don't really know what I'm doing, BUT on the bright side, I should update faster(?) No promises, but yeah. If you guys bug me to do it, I'll update much faster and we'll be done with this story much faster lol, but I'm not sure if you'd care that much about it to do that so idk. Enjoy!
"Would you like a complementary water bottle?" A woman asked me on my way out of the plane.
"Yeah, thanks!" I said, beginning to think that this idea wasn't the worst that I've had. That is, until I got to the baggage claim.
"Hey, missy, you're pretty young to be alone, are you bust- I mean busy?" I rolled my eyes at the man.
"No, she's not alone, and if she were I'm sure she'd just loove to spend her time with an old creep." I looked up at the girl who spoke for me, "In case you didn't catch that, it was sarcasm. Now go be a good old grandpa," she sneered as the man walked away.
"Thanks, you're a lifesaver," I said, looking her up and down. A girl with brown hair and dark blue eyes, wearing a bikini top and capris, "I'm Lucy," I stretched out my hand for a handshake.
"Cana," She replied, "So what brings you to Fiore?" she asked while I grabbed my bag and started walking, "I know everyone here has something they need to do, so many people just need to learn to chill, ya know?"
"Pfft, yeah, I get that. I came here for a fresh start. Just moved out of my parent's house and kinda just wanted to start over," I finished, shrugging my shoulders, "and what about you?"
"Me? I've been here since I was a kid, my big quest was finding my dad, and findign the best drink, ya know?"
"Hmm, did you ever find him?"
"Yeah, lost my nerve for a while, though, but it's all good now." She looked around putting her hands in her pockets and humming. Then she stopped and looked at me, "do you have anywhere you gotta be right now?"
"No, I don't, you have something in mind?"
"Yes, I do, and I really think you'll enjoy being around the weirdos," she smiled, "they're a great group of runaways, just like you,"
My eyes widened, "I never told you I-"
"Oh, puh-lease, I could tell from a mile away, c'mon, there's nothing to worry about."
I bit my lip and thought. I mean, I've been lied to about things all my life, but she seems genuine enough. To hell with it, "sure,"
Her face broke into a grin, "awesome,"
"Where are we going?"
"It's a hotel-slash-bar, and my home, Fairy Tail,"
"Fairy Tail.. Oh wait, speaking of hotels, I need to check into mine real fast, if you wanna come with or meet up somewhere else," I grimaced, the first almost friend I've ever made and I blow her off for a hotel room.
"Yeah, I'll come with. Don't have much to do today anyways," she said while taking out something that very closely resembled a flask, "Need any liquid courage?" She grinned.
My face scrunched up, "nah, I'm good, but thanks."
"Suit yourself," She shrugged her shoulders and took a long swig.
Once checked into the hotel, Cana suggested looking at the room and definitely not only coming with because she needed to pee.
"Oh, wow, this room is awesome!" Cana laughed her way to the bathroom, "WOAH why do you need such a huge bath!?"
A wave of relief washed over me, "Oh thank God, I love baths,"
After a minute of exploring, the bathroom door opened and Cana jumped onto the queen-sized bed, "Ah, this is great. Who are you and where did a runaway get this type of dough?" She mumbled, half-asleep already.
"I'm the daughter of a multi-millionaire asshole," I muttered.
"Ohhhh, of course ya' 're, I'm not surprised, the good ones alw's leave their good lives, Fairy Tail's full've your kind,"
"Fairy Tail, huh?" I mumbled as I layed back, and allowed sleep to take over me as well.
