Update: Still 100% in love with this show!

Enjoy.

"Are you serious?" Gwen whined over the phone.

"Honey, I know," Mindy frowned as she entered her room, throwing her backpack carelessly on the floor. "It totally sucks."

"Totally sucks," the blond agreed. Mindy laid down on her bed and nodded as she stared at her fan.

"I wish there was some way to get out of it."

"Did you promise to study really hard?"

"I did! But he didn't believe me!"

"Why not?"

"Something about me 'not studying before'."

"But that was the past! What does that have to do with now?"

"I know right!" she agreed. "I'm telling you, he hates me."

"The jerk obviously has it out for you."

"Thank you for understanding. It is not easy being this awesome."

"Well, at least you might get a cute tutor."

"As if, it's Danny Castellano."

"The short, Italian one? With the dark hair?
"That's him."

"He's kind of cute."

"What? Gwen, no."

"What?" she laughed. "He's got that whole mysterious thing going on for him, you know. He seems thoughtful, sensitive."

"Um okay, I don't even know where these words are coming from but when my best friend comes back could you please put her on the phone?"

"Oh come on Mindy, give him a chance."

"For what? He's just tutoring me, plus he's super obnoxious."

"Alright."

"He is!"

"I said okay."

"I don't like him!"

"I know."

"So get it out of your head!"

"What is wrong with you?"

"Nothing," she snapped. "How could you think I like Danny?"

"I never said that," her friend smiled. "You came up with that on your own."

"Shut up! I did not."

"Sure," the blond laughed before getting serious. "So I guess we'll have a spa day another time?"

"Yea," Mindy sighed sadly.

"Okay, I've got to go but don't forget to study hard," her friend encouraged. "We don't want this to happen again."

"Right," she agreed.

"Bye Mindy."

"Bye Gwen," she said as she hung up. Mindy looked at her phone for a moment before dropping it down on to her bed. Ugh, life is so unfair. She stayed like that for a couple of moments before deciding to get up. She stretched and looked around for something to do. That's when she remembered that her teacher had assigned a couple of chapters for homework. Mindy took a few steps towards her backpack but then stopped. Wait, Danny's tutoring me tomorrow. He can't honestly expect me to have read the chapters by then and if I do, that will leave him totally unprepared. And that wouldn't be fair, especially since it's the first session. So it only make sense that I put off the reading until tomorrow, when we both can work on it together. She smiled at her reasoning and continued to her book bag and pulled out her laptop. Mindy adjusted herself back on her bed, pulled up the Notebook that was saved onto her hard drive and began to relax.

Mindy walked across the campus lawn for the third time before setting her backpack on the ground so she could stretch out her arms. As she picked her stuff back up, she searched the courtyard once more. Where is he? She thought. What kind of tutor sets up a session and doesn't even tell you where you're supposed to meet? After a few more minutes of fruitlessly searching for Danny, she decided to ask for help. There was a blonde girl sitting under a tree on the middle of the green and Mindy thought she recognized the girl from one of her science classes.

"Um, Catherine?" Mindy asked, as she walked up to the woman engrossed in her textbook.

"What?" she responded, not looking up.

"Your name's Catherine, right?"

"No."

"Oh, I'm sorry. It's just-"

"You should be. We've had like three classes together, Mindy."

"God, I said I was sorry."

"As is your right."

"Look, I just need to know where the library is. Could you please stop being rude for a minute and help me?" The girl looked up at Mindy for the first time since they started talking and stared for a minute.

"No," she decided before looking back down.

"Are you serious?"

"As a heart attack," she nodded as she turned a page.

"Why are you being so mean to me?"

"What grounds do you have for me to be nice to you? Seeing as you are interrupting my study session and can't even be bothered to remember my name?"

"How about trying to be a decent human being? I know it wasn't cool to forget your name but I didn't do it on purpose."

"How would I know that? This is the longest conversation we've ever had," she explained, while highlighting a section of her book.

"This really isn't a conversation. I'm basically talking at you and your ignoring me."

"Then why don't you take the hint and go away," she retorted, nonchalantly.

"Did you fall down a well as a kid?" Mindy asked and that got the blond girl to look up at her.

"Excuse me?"

"Well, something had to happen to make you so unlikeable."

"For your information, I have plenty of friends."

"Are any of them real?"

"Go away," she insisted before looking back down at her book. "Some of us actually have a chance of becoming a doctor and you shouldn't be hear trying to drag the rest of us down with you."

"I'm serious," she insisted. "You need to do some aerobics or something. All that hate can not be good for your skin and since they haven't made a cream for bitch yet, you're pretty screwed if you don't try something."

The blond glared at her but before she could respond, Mindy waved goodbye and walked away. Now, I've got to find that damn library.

"You're late," Danny glared when she finally sat down. She pushed some hair out of her eyes so he could fully see the anger displayed on her face.

"Well, I'm sorry I couldn't read your mind. Maybe next time you should tell me where we're going to meet."

"You needed me to tell you? Where else do people go to study? It's the whole reason the library was invented."

"I don't know," she retorted. "Some people like to study outside."

"Yea, well, some people are idiots," he said bluntly. "Now, did you do the homework? We should go over it."

"The homework from yesterday?"

"No," Danny snapped sarcastically. "The one from last month, what do you think?"

"Why do you have to be so mean?" she questioned as she pulled out her textbook. "It's like everyone is in some contest to be the biggest jerk today."

"Whatever. Just show me your work."

"Wait," she paused. "You expected me to have it finished already?"

"Of course I-" the man stopped mid sentence to take a deep breath and rest his head on the table in front of him. "This is going to be harder than I thought," he mumbled.

"Don't act like this is my fault. This is college, not high school. Our assignments don't have to be done in a day anymore," she argued.

"Fine," he agreed, raising his head. "What did you do yesterday?"

"What? Why?"

"I just want to confirm something. After classes yesterday, you went home and did what?"

"I don't see why that's important."

"If I'm going to be tutoring you, I need to know that you are actually committed to passing this test. Now you said that homework doesn't need to be done in a day, which is ludicrous but I expected as much from you-"

"Hey!"

"Anyway, I need to know where your priorities lie. What was more important than homework yesterday?"

"I needed a break," she explained. "After a long day of school, I watched some TV to unwind."

"Right," he nodded condescendingly. "And exactly, how much is 'some TV'?"

"Two to three movies and a whole season of Scandal," she claimed. "I am finally caught up."

"Great, so you know more about Olivia Pope's affair with the president than you do about genetics."

"Holy crap!" Mindy yelled.

"What?" jumped Danny. "What's happening?"

"Danny," she grinned, still a little shocked. "You just made a successful reference to pop culture. I didn't even know if that was physically possible considering you were born in 1880."

"Oh really? Well you-" Danny was cut off mid sentence to the sound of his phone buzzing. He sighed, pulled it out of his pocket and glanced at the screen. Mindy crossed her eyes and glared at him.

"So it's okay for you use your phone during these sessions?"

"Yes," he said absent-mindedly, as he responded to a text. "I'm not the one failing."

"I'm not failing!"

"Sure, Mr. Johnson gave you a tutor because you were doing so well."

"You know what?" she demanded, getting up and began grabbing her stuff. "I don't need this. I know I can pass without you." Danny glanced at her.

"Really? What did we review yesterday?"

"We did that thing, with the body parts, you know with sickness thing?"

"STDs?" he offered.

"Yes!"

"No. We discussed bodily malfunctions due to genetics."

"Right," she claimed. "I thought you were talking about after that."

"We didn't do anything after that. He handed back the tests."

"That's what you think. You should probably pay closer attention."

"What are you even talking about?"

"I don't know," she sighed, slumping back down into her seat. "It's just so much stuff, how can anyone keep it all straight?" Mindy folded her arms on the desk and laid her head down. Danny started to feel uncomfortable as she didn't move for a few minutes.

"Hey," he said gently. She slowly moved her face up to face hers. "Can I ask you an honest question?"

"I swear if this is another joke I will set you on fire," she snapped.

"Whoa, okay. That came out of nowhere, but no," he insisted. "Why do you want to be a doctor?"

"What?"

"Is it because of money? Your parents told you to? Or did you kind of end up here?"

"No," she shook her head as he lifted it to look directly at him. "I want to be a doctor, so I can help people."

"Well obviously, but you don't have to do that through medicine. You can help people through different ways and simpler degrees. Did you ever think about becoming a psychologist?" he offered before shaking his head. "No, you'd be the one who needed a psychologist."

"Offensive jokes aside, I've seen a lot of doctors, especially gynecologist that treat their patients like lab experiments. They're cold and calculating and the only reason they have patients is because they are the only one in their field. I want to be a gynecologist in New York who provides her patients with top notch health treatments while still treating them like a human being."

"Um wow," Danny said and Mindy looked at him. She had forgotten for a moment that he was there. "That is probably the most impressive thing I've heard you say."

"I'm a pretty impressive person when you give me the chance," she shrugged and went back to her books.

"Yea," he mused as he watched her. "Maybe."

A/N: Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas! :)
