(Sorry for such a long wait time, I've been focused on other things in my life. I finally remembered this because I was bored, school just got out and I have next to nothing to do. Luckily, in this time, my writing skills have improved some, and hopefully this chapter will be to your liking.)

Percy Jackson

I was in shock, had been for a day, since the Assassins had arrived. Clarisse was dead, they had killed her. Whoever they were, they were good. They'd obviously had a wealth of training, and were adults, likely wiser than most of the demigods. I couldn't keep my mind off of Clarisse, however. She had been an elite fighter, killed a Drakon single-handedly, could outmatch almost anyone in the camp, yet had been killed by one man. One man!

Annabeth, however, seemed to be one of the most angry. She kept saying that we had been wrong, the Assassins were not intending to be hostile until we decided to kill them. I had, at the time they had come, thought they were our enemy. With a name like Assassin, I was very untrusting. I had to protect the camp, and the people I had come to know and love. However, when I reviewed it in my head, (and I just couldn't stop doing that,) something felt off. I couldn't help but think that maybe if they had really wanted us dead, they could've and would've done it as soon as they entered the camp. I brushed it off as the Assassins just stalling every time I had that thought, but that suspicion was always there, clawing at me, the feeling that I had seriously screwed up.

I was in my cabin, contemplating all of this, when I heard Annabeth arguing with someone about the Assassins. I heard her saying, "They weren't hostile. I've read up on all the documentation of the Assassin Order since this incident to make sure I was right, and I was! They don't go after people like us, people who are rather disconnected from society at large. They go after either Templars, or people who threaten the freedom they strive for."

A guy's voice responded, "Maybe, but it doesn't matter now. Whether we were the ones who painted the bullseye on our backs or not, the bullseye is still there, and we need to defend ourselves." I heard Annabeth let out a huge sigh, then heard her footsteps coming toward my door. I braced myself for the reprimands, because I knew that was what I was in for.

She entered, and muttered, "Hello, Percy." She had a very obvious anger about her, and I knew exactly why. She was about to tell me how I had doomed us all by not trusting the Assassins, as if I were the only one responsible.

I greeted her as naturally as I could manage, "Hi, Annabeth. What did you want to tell me?"

She was not happy with me, and it was painfully obvious. She then got down to it, "Percy, what in the name of Zeus were you thinking? You didn't know if the Assassins were hostile or not, why did you automatically assume they were?"

I responded, "I didn't trust the Assassins because they're...well...Assassins. That means they're trained to kill, and why else would they come to such a remote place other than to kill us?"

Annabeth was shaking her head, I didn't know why. Then she laid it out, "That's not it, I know it. I saw how you reacted, you didn't know what to think until Clarisse spoke up. Then you were all full of doubt, questioning them to no end, not listening to me. You got paranoid as soon as Clarisse brought up a possibility. Everyone looks up to you, Percy, you're a hero! Of course everyone would agree with you once you took a side!"

I was angry at that, Annabeth had insinuated that I'd been close-minded. I was about to level an angry remark back at her, when suddenly my mind came up empty, and realized that she may have been right. My head sunk, my heart was falling into my stomach. I thought, just maybe, she was right. I was just realizing my mistake, when in a sudden moment of clarity, it all came together for me. Suddenly, Athena's words about my fatal flaw came back to me. She had said my fatal flaw was loyalty. It all made sense, I was fiercely loyal to the camp, and I would even lay down my life to protect it. I had jumped on Clarisse's suspicion because of it.

I said to Annabeth, "You're right." I saw her expression morph into one of curiosity as I continued, "I got overprotective, and jumped on that suspicion. Everyone then agreed with me, and then it happened. You're right, I screwed up."

I saw Annabeth's face light up, as much as it could considering that I had brought the potential end of us all upon us, as she replied in a much less harsh voice, "Thank you, Percy, thank you. I have to go help get us ready for the inevitable counterattack, I really should go."

I managed to respond, "Okay, I'll see you," as she walked out of my cabin, considerably less angry. I then slumped down on my bunk, and just stared at the ceiling, contemplating my next move, and my huge mistake.

Vittorio Esposito (Assassin Apprentice)

I had been rather shaken by coming forward in time like this. My master said that it was because of a lady named Juno, and I trusted him. I was more concerned with the here and now at this moment in time. We had been doing some snooping around in this camp, and we had found out a fair amount. We had a basic idea of how the camp was laid out, and how we could use it to our advantage. Most importantly, we had a name of a new target, our first true contract here.

I saw Ezio at our campfire that we had been maintaining for the last few hours, and I moved to speak with him. I began, "Master, we have news from the camp."

He responded, "I assume it is important?"

I continued, "Yes, we have the name of our first target. His name is Victor Gress, and he is very skilled with a bow and arrow. As I was snooping around, I saw him at the archery range, and he was one of the straightest shots I've ever seen. He will most likely be on the roof, as they are setting up defenses against us."

He was satisfied with the information and then told the others, "Brothers and sisters, we have our first target, an expert archer named Victor Gress. We strike tomorrow, under the cover of the night. Prepare yourselves."

We all responded, "Yes, master," then proceeded to our tasks. We were in for a very hectic day tomorrow.

(I know this chapter wasn't very exciting, but I wanted to get Percy's development started. I didn't have this idea in mind when I began, but I felt that Percy needed a motivation for his actions in the first chapter, why not tie it into his fatal flaw? If anyone has character submissions for me, they will be accepted if they fit the requirements. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM. Hope you enjoyed!)
