The Release Of Shadow.

(A few years before Jack became a Guardian)

I have been alone for around 2 centries and a bit but I didn't talk to anyone unless It was another Seasonal Meeting and had to talk to either Mother Nature or the other Seasons, which I prefer not to do.

I only Spirits I know of is: Mother Nature; other Seasonal Spirits and the Guardians, Bunny, Tooth, Sandy and North.

I've only spoken to 2 of them which are Sandy and Bunny. With Bunny, we had a argument, he was whining that I ruined his Holiday. Ever heard of Blizzard of '68? Yeah well, he wasn't very happy about that day.

Sandy; we've 'spoken' rarely but I always saw his dreamsand every night, I always had the urge to touch it and see what I like to dream about; mostly dolphins because they're amazing creatures and possible one of my favourites.

There were many times when I tried to sneak into North's Palace or North Pole but always got caught out by Phil the Yeti. We have a little game between us; I try and sneak in while he keeps me out.

"Jack!"

"Jack!"

"JACK!" I was pulled out from my thoughts by Mother Nature calling my name.

Every few years we have a Seasonal Meeting with the Nature spirits and Mother Nature wanted to speak to me afterwords but everytime this happens it's always about: what did I do wrong; what can I do better. I just want her to stay out of my life for once. I get it that shes meant to keep an eye on elementals but getting all into their lifes is annoying.

"Are you even listening? This is serious." I roll my eyes at this. Of course it's serious, everytime you pull me it out it's "serious". Last night it was about being more mature of my seasonl and not messing with others.

"Death has escaped his tomb in Alcatraz. We don't know where he is or what her plan is but I'm warning you to avoid him at all costs! You and I both know that you technically belong to him so I'm not sure if he's coming after you."

Death? As in Shadow Death? I've heard of Shadow but I've heard of stories of how he removes the souls of people AND spirits from their bodies and send them to the endless life of pain and suffering, The Underworld. Shadow and his demonds stay half way between Earth and The Underworld called the Purgatory Dimension.

"Are you listening?" Mother Nature huffs in my face with a angry look on her face.

"Yes. I've already heard things about Shadow so why tell me he's escaped his Tomb? Why come after me?"

"Like I already said, you technically belong to him and he probably wants to either make you suffer from escaping the death you were meant to have if Lanar didn't save you in time or turning you into his minion." Lanar? Oh she must mean the Moon.

"Ok, I'd rather not get turned against my will. So is that it? Stay away from Death?" I looked around to see that all the other spirits have already left and were long gone.

"You were never one to listen to orders," she sighs and places a hand on her forehead as if she's getting a headache. "Just stick with the Guardians and inform the others what has happened, Shadow's has been out for weeks now so who knows what he's doing at the moment. Maybe waiting for his chance to attack."

"I'm sure the Guardians would have known about this and didn't bother to tell me, surely Man in Moon would've told them." Moon could just of easily seen what happens right under his beams.

"Alcatraz is a place that is filled with people's greatest fears. Endless horrors lie there such as creatures you've never seen before from the Underworld. The Tombs there hold the most dangerous spirits known there like Old Man Winter, he was put there because of his actions towards Humanity." Seraphina looks at me, hoping I will never go there willingly.

"Pitch sure must of get a lot of power from there," I laugh slightly to try and lighten the mood.

"This is no joking matter! How would the Guardians feal if you were killed or captured by Shadow? Think of other peoples views too Jack," she said with a panicked look on her face.

"I guess they wouldn't be thrilled, plus I don't think I'd ever want to go to Alcatraz anyway. Now if you don't mind, It's still Winter and the world needs some snow for the coming Christmas unless you want me to cancel it."

"You may go but be careful, I can't afford to lose you!" she shouts as I fly to the Northern Hemisphere.

I do not own Rise of the Guardians. My story idea came from frostofsummer and her Darkness series, recommended to read! Thank you ~Beth
