Second year:
"Honestly, Lucius, you can't be serious." Samuel Lowe said, a glass of fire whiskey in his hand as he stood in the drawing room of Malfoy Manor, talking to a seated Lucius.
"You abandoned the Dark Lord during the time where he needed his Death Eaters the most. For what? Your daughter? I stayed in the fight when Draco was born." Lucius swirled his firewhiskey in his glass.
"You don't know my daughter like I do, though. It will crush her if the other purebloods keep treating her like this. We are not below you in the slightest and you know it!" Samuel hissed.
"So you come to me, seeking redemption? Hoping that I will persuade the others to take you back?" Lucius peered up at him.
"You never know when you will be down on your luck, Lucius, and you will need the help of a Lowe. Why, I hear that Arthur Weasley is conducting more and more raids in homes of former Death Eaters. I've kept my home reputable. I may be persuaded to hide some incriminating items." Samuel said slyly.
"And risk the future of your daughter? What if they catch you?" Lucius asked, with a smirk on his face.
"Imperius curse. I have no recollection of how those items got there. They know of my bout with the curse before. Those items were merely leftovers." Samuel smirked back.
"Well then, I do say we have an agreement." Lucius said. The two men clinked glasses.

Rebecca joyfully skipped down Diagon Alley, a newly purchased green-eyed black kitten in her arms. Her parents fast-walked behind her. A commotion started in Flourish and Blotts and Rebecca halted in her skipping.
"Get him, Dad!" Was heard from inside the store.
Rebecca watched as Hagrid stepped inside the store and seemed to break apart the fight going on inside. As she stood still, mesmerized by the sudden commotion, her parents had time to catch up to her.
"What's going on?" Samuel asked.
"I think there was a fight." Rebecca said just as they saw Lucius, looking ruffed up and with a black eye, and Draco Malfoy exit the bookstore. Her eyes widen as she recognized them.
"Lucius involved in a fight? And he says I'm low class." Samuel added the last sentence under his breath.
"You need books, so we might as well enter." Christina broke the small silence.
The three wearily entered the store as the Weasleys and Grangers plus Harry Potter were leaving. Hermione and Rebecca glared at each other as they passed and Rebecca scoffed at her Muggle parents. It took Harry putting his hand on Hermione's shoulder to stop her from hexing Rebecca right there.

"I'd love to drool over Gilderoy Lockhart, but that Hermione Granger fancies him and I cannot like the same things as her. It would create something I have in common with a Mudblood, and that is a NO." Rebecca told Daphne Greengrass in their dormitory. Rebecca sat on her bed, petting her kitten, while Daphne sat on the other end of her bed.
"Such a good point. Why didn't I think of that before?" Daphne said.
Pansy Parkinson walked in then followed by Millicent Bulstrode and Tracey Davis. All five girls shared the dormitory.
"What are you two talking about?" Pansy asked.
"That filthy Mudblood Granger and why we'll never be wooed by Lockhart because she fancies him." Rebecca answered.
"Ugh, like he would even look at her once." Pansy sneered. The girls giggled then began to gossip again.

"Look what I have, Granger! A sweet little kitten my parents got me for my high marks! What have you got?" Rebecca boasted. "What did your Muggle parents reward their Mudblood daughter with? Nothing?"
Hermione spun around in the hallway, her wand drawn and pointed at Rebecca.
"Don't be mean." Ginny Weasley said meekly from behind her brother Ron.
"Excuse me? Who are you?" Rebecca didn't give her time to respond. "Oh wait, I see the family resemblance. Red hair, freckles, those clothes. You're Weasley's younger sister, aren't you? Well then let me welcome you to Hogwarts, you filthy blood traitor." She ended sarcastically.
Ginny stood there slightly terrified as Rebecca ranted. She seemed as if she was going to possibly cry at the end of it.
"Hey! Lay off her!" Ron said, pushing Ginny even further behind him.
"And what are you going to do about it? Hex me with that broken wand?" Rebecca teased.
"No, but we can use my wand. It's perfectly fine!" Hermione retaliated as she stuck her wand in Rebecca's face. "Now what were you saying?"
"I was saying that you and your filthy half-blood and blood traitor friends don't scary me. I am a good witch, Granger. So I would think twice before you try to send any spell my way." Rebecca said, unafraid.
"You think you're better than us, but you aren't! Blood status means nothing!" Hermione said.
"Of course it means nothing to a filthy little Mudblood." Rebecca sneered.
Hermione's lips parted for the words to some hex before Ginny put her hand on her shoulder.
"She's not worth it, Hermione. It's fine. Really it is." Ginny calmed.
Hermione slowly put her wand down and everyone went their separate ways.

"Come on now! Mount your brooms and show me what you've got!" Snape yelled at the Slytherins. It was tryouts for the Slytherin Quidditch team and Rebecca was determined to get on the team. She wanted to be a chaser. She was bold and tough enough to handle it.
She mounted her broom and kicked off. She had been practicing for this moment all summer long. She flew in and out of the other students. They were playing a mock-game to show off their skills. Rebecca spotted the Quaffle in the hands of an older boy and immediately sped towards him. She dove underneath him and flew straight up at him, surprising him and taking the Quaffle. She weaved her way through the other students and dodged a Bludger by spinning on her broom. She was completely upside down for a second before righting herself, never losing speed. She continued towards the goal and threw the ball just into the goal.
"Yes!" Rebecca cheered. She put her fists into the air.
"Good job, Ms. Lowe. And I see you've caught the Snitch, Mr. Malfoy." Snape said from the ground. "You may all come down now. I have my team."
Rebecca realized she hadn't noticed Draco at the tryouts at all. She found that odd since she usually seemed to have a Draco-radar. She shrugged it off as her intense focus during the tryouts and told herself that it would never happen again, except during Quidditch matches. She had dismounted from her broom when Professor Snape walked over to her.
"Impressive, Ms. Lowe. You're only a second year and your skills are exquisite. With you on the team, Slytherin will most likely win the Quidditch Cup." He said.
"Does that mean I'm on the team?" Rebecca asked excitedly.
"Well it would be idiotic if you weren't." He said before walking away.
Rebecca jumped into the air for joy before collecting her broom and walking back to the castle. She saw Draco ahead of her, so she ran to catch up with him.
"Hello Draco. Did you make the team?" She asked him. He was carrying the best broom available, of course.
"Of course I did. Father would be angry if I didn't. I'm the Seeker." He told her.
"Oh, I heard you caught the Snitch, but I didn't get a chance to see you fly. I was too busy with the Quaffle." Rebecca told him.
"Don't feel too bad, I didn't see you fly either. I was too busy watching for the Snitch." Draco responded.
Rebecca mentally jumped for joy now that she would be spending more and more time with Draco Malfoy.

Rebecca was walking to her Defense Against the Dark Arts class when she passed by a hallway where she saw a couple older students teasing a first year. She ignored it until she noticed that they were all in the same house. Slytherins stuck together with a passion and bullying was rare among them. She saw their blue ties and remembered that Ravenclaws were ruthless to each other because of grades. Then she heard the teasing.
"Loony Lovegood! Why don't you go talk to your Nurgles?!" One teased.
"They're called Nargles and they're very mischievous fairies." The first year seemed unfazed.
"Yeah right! I can't believe that you-"
"Stupefy!" A red light shot out of Rebecca's wand and straight at the boy teasing the girl. The others stared in shock at Rebecca.
"Shoo! Leave! I know spells that would make the professors run!" Rebecca yelled.
The teasing students ran after hearing Rebecca's menacing voice. Rebecca then walked over to the girl.
"What's your name?"
"Luna Lovegood. Thank you for sending them away."
"You're welcome. I'm Rebecca Lowe. They shouldn't tease you because you're different. They should tease you because of grades, like Ravenclaws are supposed to do."
Luna giggled. "You're funny."
"Anyway, I have to get to class. Tell me if anyone gives you trouble again, okay?"
"Alright, I will. Thank you again, Rebecca." Luna said, a big smile on her face.
Rebecca began walking back down the hallway when she heard Luna call for her.
"Wait!"
Rebecca turned to see Luna hold up some type of necklace.
"It's a Butterbeer cork necklace. To keep away the Nargles, they steal things and hide them." Luna explained.
Rebecca hesitantly took it.
"Thank you. I'll wear it to keep my stuff safe." Rebecca smiled at her as she turned once again to get to her DADA class.

Rebecca began a rivalry with Ginny Weasley that year and kept up her old one with Hermione. She began a friendship with Luna Lovegood and stayed true to her word that she would keep her safe, especially after finding out that Luna was a pureblood. She was a chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team and was good, especially for a second year. They would have won the Quidditch Cup, but Draco didn't catch the Snitch in time. She continued to get high marks, but never better than Hermione. She left her second year at Hogwarts generally happy.
See? Rebecca isn't all bad. And I forgot to add the name of the kitten. It's Belle, after Bellatrix.
