(A year later after Hazuki was found by Nobunaga and taken in)

In the castle, there was a woman kneeling before Nobunaga Oda and his wife, Nohime. The woman was wearing a pure black kimono and had fair skin but what was different about her was the fact that she had long, flowing red hair that reached her knees and a blue and grey eye. Nobunaga smiled and he held out his skeleton cup and continued to look at the woman as his wife poured sake into the cup as he then said, "Hazuki, you truly have grown since the last time I saw you. A year has truly changed you for the better"

"Yes milord, I was nothing but a young whelp who knew nothing of the world around me," Hazuki said as she kept her eyes on the ground. Nobunaga smiled sinisterly as he took a sip out of his skeleton cup.

"That is good to hear. Now I know that your training truly paid off in the end," Nobunaga said as he took another sip of sake.

"Milord, do you require anything from me?" Hazuki asked as she finally looked at her lord with determined, cold eyes.

"No not know but in two days I will need you to go along with Nohime, Ranmaru, and Mitsuhide in order to hunt down and kill someone for me and to send a message," Nobunaga answered as he searched Hazuki's face for any crack of being soft towards the enemy.

"And just who am I to hunt down and kill?"

"His name is Imagawa Yoshimoto, he has been a thorn in my side for quite a while so I want you to get rid of him," Nobunaga informed.

"And what is this message you wish to send?"

"Simple, either join me or perish."

"Is this message for every lord in Japan?"

"Of course, and also for every person who lives under their rule," Nobunaga answered with a sinister smirk on his face.

"I see then," Hazuki said as she looked down and then looked back at her lord with an emotionless look on her face as she then bowed. "Then I will see you two days from now."

"And Hazuki," Nobunaga as soon as he noticed that Hazuki was about to disappear which caused the ninja to stop what she was doing and looked at her lord. "Be sure to wear that demon mask of yours."

"Yes milord," Hazuki said as she bowed.

Hazuki then disappeared in a flash, leaving both lord Nobunaga and his wife in his throne room. Nobunaga narrowed his eyes as he then said, "She will be of great use to us but the moment she finally breaks, kill her."

"Yes, my lord husband," Nohime said as she then poured some more sake into her husband's cup, only stopping when the sake poured out of the eye sockets.

While she was running in the woods, Hazuki had a look of worry and sadness on her face. She was mainly worried about what would happen if she failed and even if she didn't then she would have to take someone's life.

When she finally got to her home, Hazuki easily forgot her troubles as she walked into the village, smiling at everyone as they all either waved at her or gave a friendly smile. The children would run up to her with large smiles on their faces while yelling, "Welcome back Hazuki-nee-chan."

"Hey, do you guys know where baa-chan is?" Hazuki asked.

The children all nodded their heads as one of them answered, "She's with Haruka in the rice field."

"Oh really, then where are Ichigo and Ichiro?"

"They're in the rice fields too but they're not doing anything," a child revealed which caused Hazuki to grin to make it look as if she found them amusing but there was a dark, threatening aura surrounding her as well as a popped vein look on her head.

"Is that so?" was all Hazuki could say as she tried to keep her anger in check so she wouldn't scare everyone around her.

Soon she then kept running the thought of everyone running away from her and how she didn't want that to happen, so she calmed down and smiled down at the children and said, "Thanks for telling me this. I'm going to the rice field to see baa-chan and the others."

As she walked away from the children, Hazuki waved her hand at them as she said, "See you guys later."

As she walked further and further down the dirt road, Hazuki couldn't help but look at the sky as she wondered how approximately one year ago she fell out of the sky and into this neighborhood. Hazuki whistled in astonishment but then smiled as she said, "I can't be so ungrateful because I met baa-chan, Haruka, Ichiro, and Ichigo."

Hazuki then decided to stop pondering on her thoughts and then continued to walk to where the rice fields were in order to see her family.

The moment she got there, Hazuki's ninja ways kicked in as she surveyed the area of any threat coming her or the villagers' ways but smiled when she saw it was just the some of the women and her family in the fields, working hard in order to have a successful harvest. However, something ticked Hazuki off and that was seeing her cute little sister and her mother doing all of the work in the field while her twin little brothers were doing nothing but playing with toys. Hazuki quietly snuck behind Ichiro and Ichigo and held them by the neck as she then said, "You know it's rude to just watch someone do all the work and you do nothing to help them. Do you honestly expect anything once the harvest is over?"

The twins both shivered simultaneously as they both turned their heads to see their older sister with a menacing look on her face while they said, "Hazuki-nee-chan, we didn't expect you to come back."

Haruka stopped what she was doing as she then ran up to Hazuki with a cheerful smile on her face as she hugged her older sister and looked up at her while saying, "Welcome back Hazuki-nee-chan."

"Hello my cute little Haruka," Hazuki chirped in glee as she hugged her little sister back. "How have you been since I was gone?"

"I've been good. Nothing has happened ever since you went away," Haruka revealed as she held her arms up higher to show that she wanted to be picked up which Hazuki easily complied with by letting go of the twins, who fell to the ground on their butts.

"Hazuki," Hotaru said as she tried to lift herself from the ground but needed a bit of help from Hazuki who held her arm and lifted the old woman by herself. "It's been a while."

"Hey granny, how's it been?" Hazuki said softly.

"Good, nothing has happened. The only bad thing that's happened to this village was a few thunderstorms and even they weren't that bad," Hotaru answered as she looked into her adopted daughter's eyes.

"That's good to hear."

Hotaru sighed and closed her eyes as she then said, "Come on kids, let's go inside with Hazuki."

"Ok, baa-chan," the children said.

As they walked back to the orphanage, Hazuki suddenly remembered how she saw Ichiro and Ichigo doing nothing but playing and watching them do all the work on the fields so she looked down and glared at the two for a little as said, "Ichigo and Ichiro, we're going to have a little talk when we get back to the orphanage."

"Y-yes Hazuki-nee-chan," the twins said as their faces turned as white as a sheet from seeing the evil eye that their older sister was giving them.

"Good to hear," Hazuki said with a smile on her face which caused the twins to shiver even more at the new look on their older sister's face but Hazuki paid no mind to their shivers, happy that her face could tell it all to her lazy brothers.

When they reached the orphanage, Hazuki put a sleeping Haruka off her carefully and then placed her in a futon that was closest to them.

"Hazuki, we need to talk," Hotaru said which caused Hazuki to frown but faced her adoptive anyway.

As the twins quietly sneaked away from Hazuki, sure that weren't in any trouble, Hazuki quickly looked at her brothers with a smile and said with a wink, "We'll have that talk later."

As soon as she said those words, the twins looked dejected as they slowly walked out of the room with tears running down their faces at the prospect of Hazuki punishing them. When they left the room, Hazuki looked at Hotaru with a straight face as she said, "It really has been a while."

"Try one month," Hotaru said.

"I know, I know," Hazuki said as she rubbed the back of her head with an uneasy grin on her face.

"I've heard during the month you were gone that Kennyo Honganji was killed along with his followers in a mysterious fire," Hotaru said with a grim look on her face as she looked down for a few moments and then looked back up at Hazuki. "Did you help with the killing?"

"I helped start the fire but someone else in Nobunaga's army killed them," Hazuki revealed. She looked down as she thought of all those innocent people that were murdered, closing her eyes as their screams of pain and anguish rang throughout the temple were forever imprinted in her mind.

"It's good to know that even though you've been at that castle for nine months, you still have good inside you to make you not kill innocent people," Hotaru said.

The two stood in silence until Hotaru smiled at her daughter and said, "By the way, I know you've been gone a lot, but since you missed your birthday here, I made you something."

Then, Hotaru took something out of her kimono and both of her hands had something inside of them, she handed Hazuki a long piece of black thread with a lucky charm attached to it from her left hand and then a black comb with red spider lilies on it with her right hand. Hazuki gaped at the gifts and then stared at her mother with a weepy smile and hugged her as she then said, "Thanks granny."

'This is so that you won't lose your humanity while under that dreadful man's rule," Hotaru said as she hugged Hazuki back.

"Trust me, as long as I have you guys I'll never lose myself to evil," Hazuki reassured her mother.

Then, the door opened to reveal Haruka and the twins. As they looked at the scene before them, Haruka tilted her head and asked," Did something happen?"

"Yeah, I just got my birthday presents," Hazuki confidently said as she showed off her new gifts which caused Haruka and the twins to look at the gifts with awe and then they looked at Hotaru. It was Haruka who talked first by saying, "Hey granny, can you get me those for my birthday too?"

"I want a Temari ball*," Ichiro announced.

"I want a Kokeshi*," Ichigo announced.

Hotaru sighed at the gifts her other adopted children wanted and looked at Hazuki as she said, "Why did you have to show them now?"

"It's just how I am," Hazuki grinned as she then laughed as the children demanded to get expensive gifts like Hazuki did which caused Hotaru to sigh more in despair at the thought of being absolutely broke by her four children.

"Don't worry kids, when I get paid by Lord Nobunaga, I'll buy those gifts for you instead," Hazuki said in order to ease her mother's worries.

"Really?" The three asked with wide, hopeful eyes aimed towards Hazuki, who was unaffected and nodded which caused the three children to cheer and run out to brag to the other children how their big sister is going to get them gifts for their birthday.

As soon as they were outside, Hotaru looked at Hazuki with suspicious eyes and asked, "By the way, I know you frequently go on missions so when are you going to be that accursed demon again?"

"Two days from now," Hazuki said with her hung down with shame.

Hotaru frowned and walked up to Hazuki as she put her hand on her shoulder and said, "Good luck and don't die. I don't think I can handle three crying children by myself if you died."

"In that case, I really got to make sure that I don't get killed," Hazuki chuckled as she got up and walked away to the sliding door where the beds were and slid it open as she then said, "I'm going to take a nap. Please don't disturb me until dinner."

"I'll make sure to tell that to Haruka and the twins," Hotaru said with a small smile as she watched Hazuki enter the room and slid the door behind her and only heard a poof which signaled that Hazuki was on the bed and now napping.

"Honestly, that girl. She just got back and now she wants to sleep until dinner," Hotaru said as she got up and walked out of her home in order to not disturb her daughter.

XXX

When it got darker, Hotaru decided to wake Hazuki up since she's already preparing for dinner. When she slid the door open, she saw Hazuki trying to enclose herself off in the world. She giggled and then shook Hazuki lightly as she said, "Hazuki-nee-chan, you have to wake up or else we're not going to save you any food."

Then, at the mention of food, Hazuki immediately shot up and then looked at Haruka as she said, "I'm getting up, I'm getting up, just save me some food."

"Okay, Hazuki-nee-chan," Haruka giggled before she walked out of the room with the intentions to save some food since Hazuki said so.

Hazuki got out of bed and grumbled as she rubbed her head and squinted her eyes to adjust to the darkness and then went out of the room and looked at the delicious food her adopted mother cooked in the metal stem pot, which was mainly vegetable and rice along with some shitake mushrooms. Hotaru looked at the sparkles in Hazuki's eyes and sighed as she knew that Hazuki wanted food and said, "Hey kids, looks like we're going to have a dinner fight again."

"A dinner fight, huh? Get ready to receive the smallest portion Hazuki-nee-chan," Ichiro said, feeling confident that he would receive the best of food inside the pot. Hazuki smirked as she looked down at the twins but then smiled as she looked back at them confidently.

"Okay, but before we start this fight we need to give granny some of the food first," Hazuki said. She got a wooden spoon that was resting off of the pot and grabbed some and put it in a bowl for Hotaru, giving it to the old woman before look at the children with a determined face. Hotaru looked at the children and sighed as she knew that they were now fired up and would do anything to get the biggest portion.

The rest of the group grabbed chopsticks that were nearby their bowls and held them at their side with prepared looks on their faces, ready to strike and take away the biggest portion they could get. Hazuki looked at the food with a small bead of sweat going down her face as she slowly said, "Ready…set…EAT!"

The four quickly placed their chopsticks into the bowl and took the food they wanted as fast as they could and place it on their plates while trying to get more food. The twins and Hazuki struggled with their chopsticks to get a large shitake mushroom, the three using their arms to get the prize and then it was Hazuki who ultimately won the battle by saying, "I heard from some of the other kids that you two want to kiss Haruka."

The twins looked at Hazuki with red faces while Haruka looked at the two as if they were the plague and Hazuki just looked like she won everything. The twins stopped whatever they were doing and yelled, "There's no way in hell we'd want to kiss Haruka."

"I know, but I want some shitake mushroom," Hazuki said as she quickly took the mushroom and grinned at the twins, who looked shell shock with defeat. Haruka blushed madly and began to hit Haruka as hard as she could without actually hurting her older sister.

"Hazuki-nee-chan, you're terrible," Haruka said as Hazuki put up her hands in defeat and grinned playfully.

"I'm sorry, you guys. I'm sorry," Hazuki giggled as she took her bowl and continued. "To make up for that horrible joke, I'll give you a small portion of my meal."

The three smaller children immediately sat down and looked at Hazuki with large eyes, begging for some of her food. Hazuki sighed and sadly gave up some of her food while Hotaru was laughing her ass off as she said, "That's what you get for using that to get the damn mushroom."

"Would it kill you to shut up and eat your damn food like a good old woman, old lady?" Hazuki gritted as she ate some of her food with gritted teeth, mourning the loss of some of her meal.

"I'm already finished with my food," Hotaru said as she proudly held up her food to show Hazuki, who glared at the woman looked down with a pout.

"I don't like you right now, granny," Hazuki said as she looked down. Hotaru didn't care and continued to laugh her ass off.

Then, there was tugging on Hazuki's kimono which caused the red-haired teen to look and see that Haruka was looking at her with happy eyes as she said, "Thanks for giving me some of your food."

"You're welcome, my cute little sister," Hazuki said as she hugged Haruka with a large smile on her face.

Ichiro and Ichigo felt jealous of the attention Haruka was getting and also said, 'Yeah, thanks for giving us some of your food, Hazuki-nee-chan."

Hazuki looked at the twins for a few seconds before she grabbed them and made them join in on her hug as well. The twins blushed with the affections Hazuki was giving them but just went with it.

Hotaru smiled as she said, "Okay, it's time for bed now."

The three smaller children slipped out of Hazuki's grasp and quickly went to the other room where their beds were which left Hazuki and Hotaru alone in the room. Hazuki looked at Hotaru, who was looking right back at Hazuki.

"Hazuki, I know this is terribly rude of me to ask you this, but are you sure that this is the right thing to do?"

Hazuki sadly smiled as she said, "Granny, I want to quit this and live here for the rest of my life but if I don't then you of all people should know what the devil king will do if I don't follow his rules."

"I know, but isn't there anything you can do?"

"I know how everyone wants their son, their brother, or their father to come back home safely. I will gladly sacrifice myself in order to make sure that everyone is happy, even if my own hands are tainted," Hazuki said with a sad smile on her face.

Hotaru sighed and looked at Hazuki with a look of pity mixed with sadness as she then said, "Hazuki, just please carry that comb and that lucky charm with you."

"I will, granny," Hazuki said as she looked down in order to not let anyone see her tears.

Hotaru got up and walked towards Hazuki, who was still looking down on the ground, before she stopped at Hazuki and looked down at her. The old woman smiled and patted Hazuki's shoulder which caused Hazuki to look up at her adopted mother with shock.

"It's really okay, Hazuki. Just remember that you can always come back here," Hotaru said with a large grin.

Hazuki smiled and stood up as she looked down on Hotaru, who looked up to see Hazuki's blue and grey eye, which caused Hazuki to suddenly hug her adopted mother which was reciprocated. Hazuki let go first and said, "Thanks granny."

"Please be safe," Hotaru whispered as she handed the comb and the lucky charm bag to Hazuki. "Put the comb in the bag, I don't want it to break when you're out in battle."

Suddenly, a knock came on the door which caused Hotaru to open the door and was shocked to see that it was a ninja that followed Nobunaga. Hotaru grimaced and asked, "What do you want?"

"This is for the demon ninja," was the only thing the ninja said.

Hazuki walked up to the door and said, "What is it?"

"The mission has been moved up ahead."

"What happened?"

"The target decided to head to the battlefield earlier then we knew. You need to move out and reach the target by tomorrow afternoon." Hazuki frowned but nodded anyway and didn't say anything which caused the ninja to nod back as well and vanished into the night.

"Granny, get me the black kimono and the mask," Hazuki said. Hotaru nodded and went into the room past the children that were now sleeping. Hotaru went into the room and saw darkness with a small candle only offering little light. Hotaru looked around the room to find a large black box with a lock on it. Hotaru got a key out of her pocket and unlocked the box and opened it to get a black kimono and a shikami mask* that had a few scratches on it, but otherwise still looked powerful and monstrous.

Hotaru handed the two to Hazuki who smiled and looked at Hotaru while saying, "I'll come back as soon as this is all over. I promise."

Hotaru had a grim smile on her face as she watched Hazuki run into the night and looked at the moon as she said, "Moon goddess, I know you brought me Hazuki a year ago but I don't want to lose her now. I beg of you to please bring my daughter back."

XXX

At Nobunaga's castle, Hazuki was dressed in a long, black kimono and had the shikami mask on. She was right before a door and waited it for it to be open by the servants and walked into the room to see that it was Oda Nobunaga and his wife who still had a large sake bottle in her hands. However, Hazuki noticed the devil king had his feet resting a mysterious black thing she couldn't see so she kept her eyes on the devil king.

"I heard that the target moved earlier than planned," Hazuki said.

"Yes, but it turned out to be better than we expected. As it turns out, the one-eyed dragon of Oshu and the tiger of Kai are planning to get rid of the bastard and take over his land. This works to our advantage," Nobunaga said with a dark smile on his face.

"How is this to our advantage?"

"Because with the tiger of Kai and the one eyed dragon of Oshu, it makes our message clearer for Japan." Hazuki said nothing but watched as the sake was poured into Nobunaga's cup and then looked at the thing that Nobunaga was resting his feet on.

"My lord, what are you resting your feet on?"

Nobunaga smirked and kicked his foot rest and watched it roll steps. Hazuki was shocked to find out that it was a ninja, but she thankfully hid her emotions behind her mask. "Who is this?"

"The person who told us that Imagawa Yoshimoto was originally supposed to move two days from now. I decided to punish him lightly," Nobunaga grinned. Hazuki looked closely at the ninja and saw that the ninja was indeed alive but considering how his clothes were all covered in blood she knew he didn't have that much long to die.

"Just remember Hazuki, this is what happened when you decide to make mistakes under my rule," Nobunaga reminded her, but Hazuki didn't falter at all which caused the devil king's smirk to grow even more. "A world under warrior rule has no place for people who make mistakes."

"I already understood that, my lord," Hazuki said.

"By the way, since the mission has been drastically moved ahead I had to change something about how everyone shall be paired with since Yoshimoto wouldn't go down without a trick up since sleeve to confuse his enemies. Hazuki, you are to be with lady Nohime and watch from the mountain to see if anything interesting goes down. Is that understood?"

"I understand completely, Lord Nobunaga."

"Good, Hazuki. Now rest a little before we head out to unify Japan." Hazuki bowed before the devil king and his wife and quickly left the room. She walked down the corridor and finally stopped at a large door and opened it to reveal a small room with a small window that only let in the moonlight. Hazuki laid down on the tatami floors and soon fell asleep with empty dreams in her head.

XXX

"Miss, the lord Nobunaga requires you to get up now and scan the battlefield before they go." Hazuki woke up with a groan and looked to see a servant that had her ninja gear in her hands. She looked outside the window to see that it was still dark, but the sun was slowly beginning to come out and greet Japan. Hazuki got up and took the gear before she bowed with a smile and waved as she quickly ran out of the castle.

While she was running, Hazuki quickly remembered that the battle would be somewhere in Okehazama. "That's going to take a while."

When Hazuki reached Okehazama, she noticed that the sun was glaring down at the field and when she noticed a large mountain not that far from where she was, she humped form tree to tree in order to reach the mountain and smiled when she reached the mountain, happy that the view from the mountain was much better than in the forest.

She looked down and saw that her target was beginning to walk in a carriage while the rest of his men were walking on their own feet with their flags in their hands. Hazuki noticed that there was a man nearby running to where the lord was and watched closely as the lord and the man were interacting with each other. The man seemed agitated about something and watched as the lord suddenly pointed to where the capital was yelled something, but she was too high in the mountain to hear what they were talking about.

Then, Hazuki felt the earth rumbling and saw that another man in blue armor wearing an eye patch with three swords on both side of his body and had a helmet with a crescent on it and a group of men were running towards Yoshimoto with the intent of fighting him. Hazuki looked at the helmet and instantly knew who the man was. "Is that what the one-eyed dragon, Date Masamune looks like?"

Hazuki then noticed that there was an older man next to the on-eyed dragon. The man's hair was slicked back and he only had one sword but Hazuki could tell that this man was still powerful. She saw the way the one-eyed dragon interacted with the man and knew that the mysterious man was the right eye of the dragon. While the Masamune's men were fighting with Yoshimoto's men, Masamune was walking up to Yoshimoto and wished to fight him, but the general was hiding behind his carriage like a coward.

Then, Hazuki noticed that there was another group of men behind the dragon and noticed that they were wearing red instead of blue like Masamune's men. She looked at the man leading the army and noticed that he long brown hair that was put in a ponytail and had red armor while wearing a red banner on his forehead and had two spears on his back. Hazuki gasped as she said, "That's the young tiger of Kai, Sanada Yukimura."

"Indeed he is," a mysterious voice said. Hazuki turned around to see that it was Nohime on a horse with her gun ready to fire at the general that was in her husband's way. "But just because he's a little boy, never forget that he's our enemy."

"Yes, lady Nohime," Hazuki said as she watched the one-eyed dragon and the tiger cub fight with all of their might, which Hazuki could see come out in blue and red auras that when collided, turned into an explosion.

When she saw that general was planning something while the two powerful lords were fighting, Hazuki frowned and growled when she saw that Yoshimoto got three duplicates that looked somewhat identical to him. She knew that the lords were annoyed by the fact that the three ran off in three different directions, one of them was coming their way. Nohime looked at Hazuki and asked, "Are you ready to kill this man?"

Hazuki nodded and watched closely as the carriage below them was coming close while the tiger cub of Kai was riding on a horse behind the general along with a ninja who was running on foot. When the carriage was close enough Hazuki jumped down and threw an explosive towards the carriage while Nohime shot the carriage with one of her weapons.

Hazuki and Nohime looked at the unconscious decoy who woke up and looked under Nohime's kimono while she pointer her gun at him and shot him as she said, "Sorry faker, but you're of no use to me, nor is the real one to be honest."

Hazuki looked at the ninja and Yukimura as Yukimura said, "You, woman, under whose banner do you yield such western weaponry?"

Hazuki smiled as she saw that the ninja who was looking at her widened his eyes and asked, "Who are you?"

Hazuki said nothing as Nohime said, "Careful you don't get burned little boy."

Hazuki and Nohime ran down the mountain and left the two boys by themselves. As she was running, Hazuki couldn't help but think that the two were handsome.

XXX

When Nohime and Hazuki were with everyone, Hazuki saw that Ranmaru and Mitsuhide were already there with Nobunaga. Hazuki looked at Mitsuhide and saw that he had the real Yoshimoto which made her look at the devil king until she heard shouting and looked below and saw what her lord meant by giving Japan the message. When she saw that the one-eyed dragon, his right eye, the young tiger cub of Kai, and the ninja was there she couldn't help but pity them because of what they were about to witness.

Hazuki looked at Yoshimoto to witness the last moments of his pathetic before she watched her lord shot the general in the head and watched the general drop to the floor. Hazuki ignored whatever Nobunaga was saying and paid more attention to the one-eyed dragon and the tiger cub to see what their reactions towards the message.

"How sad," Hazuki noted so quietly that not even Nohime noticed Hazuki's words.

As Hazuki looked at her lord walk away from the group from below, she looked at the group one last time with sad eyes before walking away from them as well.

XXX

When Hazuki returned to the castle with Nobunaga and Nohime, she met with them in the throne room where Mitshide and Ranmaru were on either side of the devil king and looked at her. Hazuki took off her mask and asked, "Is that all milord?"

"No, this is only the beginning to bring the world under warrior rule. I need you to go to the Maeda clan and see if they will truly follow us," Nobunaga said. "Until the world is under my domain or you get captured, it would seem that you can't return to your village."

Even though Hazuki felt a piece of herself dying when she heard those words, she didn't allow anyone to see her emotions, instead she bowed and looked at the devil king with dead eyes and said, "Of course, milord."

As she walked out of the castle, she felt a tear going down her eye but she quickly wiped it away and prayed for some deity to kill the devil king and allow her to return to her village.
