As I sprinted away, what I just saw kept running through my mind… How could those messages be written on the wall… how the hell could this even be possible. Maybe it was just a big coincidence… yeah maybe…

Suddenly I stopped and looked up… without realising it I had ran all the way to the flat where my best mate Kathy lived… I bet she would believe me, she's that sort of girl… just gagging for anything mysterious or strange… I swear she has an ambition to be the newest member of the Scooby gang!

But as I unlocked the front door with the spare key (under the doormat – honestly) and went up the stairs, I could hear the tv on… surely she couldn't still be up! I called out her name but when she didn't answer I assumed she had fell asleep with the TV on… But I was only half right, the living room was deserted but there were 6 additional TV's in the room… all showing the same thing a man in a brown pinstriped suit and tie and square-framed glasses… they were all paused apart from one. He was talking about blinking for some reason and how something was "fast, faster than you can believe…" As the recording came to an end, I stood staring at these screens… It was probably some weird reality TV show that Kathy was obsessed with… I mean she did run her phone bill into triple figures one time voting on Big Brother!

I went into the kitchen and put on the kettle for a coffee and rang Kathy's mobile - guaranteed the best way to wake her up…I could hear her Mexican hat ringtone from the bedroom… She answered blearily "hello…"

"Had a bit of a freak… need to talk… making you a coffee…" I blurted this all out without giving her a chance to answer but finally she got a word in edgeways…

"Sally Sparrow, its one in the morning! You think I'm coming round at one in the morning?!"

"No… I'm in the kitchen, what's with all the screens in your front room?"

I heard her sigh then gasp panicked "Oh God… Sally, you've met my brother Larry, haven't you…"

"No…" I answered confused… "You're about to…" she warned and then I heard the toilet chain flush, the bathroom door fling open and there stood… a guy… about mid twenties, kinda cute, I guess… stark naked…

Oh my god! Naked… It took all my energy to keep my eyes on his face and not let them wonder…

"Ok…" he said pacing his words carefully "not… sure… but really, really…. open… Pants?" He pointed at his… well you know…

"No" I answered quickly… *eyes on his face… eyes on his face… *

I heard Kathy rush from the other room, muttering angrily "Put them on… PUT THEM ON! I HATE YOU! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!"

She shoved Larry out of the doorway and wrapped her dressing round herself tighter… "Sorry," she shrugged. "My useless brother…"

But I wasn't listening; I was too busy puzzling over things in my mind … The writing on the wall, the thrown stone, the Doctor… Hmmmm…

My anxiousness must have shown on my face, because Kathy suddenly went into 'concerned best mate' mode.

"Sally? What's wrong?" she asked, with her brow furrowing a little in concern… "What's happened?"

I just sat there with my hands clasped together on my lap. How on earth could I begin to tell her?

In the end, I took a deep breath and told her in a steady voice, everything that had happened that evening at Wester Drumlins...
