The next day, Alice apologized for Edward's behavior and congratulated me for throwing the spaghetti into her brother's face. I didn't get it…

The day before, Alice and I found out we had only two classes together from the seven we already had, besides lunch.

"What is wrong with this school?" was her reaction.

I had fourth and sixth period with Alice, which was gym and English literature. I had Trig for first period and history afterwards. So I made my way to the math room and heard whispers pass by. Did I have toilet paper stuck to my shoe? I didn't remember using the bathroom this morning… I looked at my shoes, just in case and sighed, nothing. I wondered why they were all staring at me, I was confused.

Once I sat down in my seat, two girls came up to me.

The braver of the two asked, "Is it true you hit Edward with spaghetti yesterday?" They didn't look like they wanted a plain answer, they looked like gossip mongers.

I blushed.

"I don't know, why don't you ask him for yourself?" I retorted.

"Oh…okay." They didn't expect my answer, so they walked away, whispering immature things.

The bell rang, and everybody ran to their seats.

"Okay gang, you know the drill—wait—where's the new face?" the teacher asked, I didn't even realize he came in.

I raised my hand, and he sighed.

"Don't be shy—get your butt up here and introduce yourself." Crap…

I went up front, and made a quick introduction. "My names Isabella Swan, but call me Bella." I literally jogged back to my seat.

"Don't like the spotlight?" the teacher asked, and then he grinned "now I know who to call on." I hated him already…

"By the way… my name is Mr. Foster, so chillax. We're all friends here." He smiled reassuringly

Maybe he wasn't that bad…

Sooner than I expected, lunch came, and I was starving. I walked into the cafeteria and walked over to the table Alice said was theirs. Emmett and Rose were already seated there, so I took a chair next to Rose.

"How's your first day?" Rose asked concerned.

"Uh… fine?" She chuckled.

"No worries, by tomorrow, you'll get the hang of it." Rose said, reassuringly. "What do you have next?"

"Uh… biology with Mr. Banner." I said, chewing on an apple I stole from Emmett's tray.

At this, Emmett looked up, a humorous glint in his eye.

"What?" I asked, "Do I have apple stuck between my teeth?"

"No." Emmett said with a laugh. "It's just that you have this next class with Ed—

"Hey Bella!" Alice greeted as she took a seat beside me, "how's your first day? Not as bad as you expected huh?" Alice asked knowingly.

"Yeah, yeah. Thanks for showing me my classes." I said sarcastically. Though, the truth was, I was happy she showed me where my classes were. I wouldn't have even found the cafeteria, without Alice's help.

"You have Biology next right?" Alice asked.

I nodded.

"Cool, that's right next to my math class. I'll walk with you there." Alice said excitedly.

"Sure."

"So Bella, do you play any sports?" Emmett asked curiously.

"I used to play select basketball, but I don't play for a team anymore." I said between swallows.

"Really? Jazz and I play as well. We play for the school, our team won three years in a row." He said proudly.

"I know, I watch basketball every chance I get." I said matter-of-factly.

"So you do know who our captain is?"

"Nope." I said popping the "p". "Why who is he?" I asked curious.

"Ed—

"The bell's gonna ring soon." Alice said suddenly. I looked at the clock, and sure enough, we had ten minutes left. Why do they always interrupt—whatever.

"We should go to class now Bella." Alice suggested.

"Okay." We got up and left the three of them eating.

Before we went out of the cafeteria, I heard Emmett scream, "Where's my apple?"

Alice and I laughed then I quickly threw the apple away.

We walked to the end of the hallway, and turned left, then made a right at the next turn.

"Here you are." Alice announced.

"Thanks Alice." I said gratefully.

"No problem Bells, you're like my best friend now too! So anytime you need me, I'll by in room E303 or a phone call away." She said, hugging me.

She had no idea how much that meant to me, and I hugged her back.

"See you next period." I said smiling.

"See you." Alice said before prancing off next door.

I laughed and entered my classroom. Most everybody in my class was already in here, so I took a seat at the only empty desk.

I laid my head down on my desk, when someone tapped my back. I looked up; standing there was a blonde cheerleader. She was glaring at me and holding her hand to her side, tapping her feet.

"Yes?" I asked annoyed.

"You're Swan?" she asked accusingly.

"Yeah." I sighed.

"Well Swan," she spat my name out like it was a contagious disease, "if I ever hear about you ever hurting my Edward again, you'll be sorry."

Who is she? "Who are you?!" I asked confused.

She winced and turned around, stomping her way back to her seat.

A girl came up to me and said, "That's Lauren Mallory, she's head cheerleader, and the prime-girl of WCA, you don't wanna mess with her." The girl warned.

"Okay… as long as she doesn't mess with me, I won't mess with her." I replied.

"Oh and I would just like to thank you, nobody has ever talked to her like that, and I personally think that her ego has to be brought down." The girl said, "oh my name's April Collins." She then smiled.

"Bella Swan." I said, smiling her back.

"Nice to meet you Bella Swan." April said. "And welcome to West Coast Academy."

"Thanks." I said, smiling still.

Then the bell rang, and she went back to her seat. Mr. Banner entered the classroom and asked if I was here, and I raised my hand. Thankfully, he didn't ask me to introduce myself. Then someone suddenly burst into the room, and walked up to my desk.

"You're late… again." Mr. Banner said, without looking up from his attendance clipboard.

"Yeah, sorry about that B." I recognized that voice; I turned around and looked into the stunning eyes of Mr. Edward Cullen.

"Mr. Banner to you Mr. Cullen." Mr. Banner said, exasperated.

"Yeah whatever B." Edward said, ignoring him and looking at me.

I blushed furiously and looked back to the front.

When Edward came to my desk, he leaned down and whispered into my ear, "Couldn't stay away, could you?" He chuckled.

I shivered, then turned around, and glared at him. That wasn't the reaction he expected, he looked surprised and sat down in his seat.

"Mr. Cullen, since you so rudely interrupted my class, you'll stay five minutes after class, I need to talk to you."

Edward groaned, and inwardly, I was smiling.

I scooted away from him as far as possible, and he did the same.

"Okay class, your lab partner today, will be your lab partner for the rest of the school year, so I won't be making any changes. If you have any complaints, I don't want to hear it." Mr. Banner explained.

Nobody in the class groaned except for me, which caused me to blush… again.

"Do you have a problem, Ms. Swan?" Mr. Banner asked, expectantly.

I looked around, and everybody was snickering at me except for April and two other students.

"Yeah, um… do I have to sit by Cullen?" I asked, pleadingly.

"Yes, you do have to sit by Cullen."

"Fine." I said, stubbornly.

The whole period, Edward and I made a whole point of not making contact, in any way.

The bell rang, and I stood up as fast as I could, trying to bolt for the door, but I bumped into the devil himself.

"Can't get enough?" Edward asked smugly.

I shoved him as hard as I could, and ended up shoving him to Mr. Banner. This day couldn't get worse.

"Isabella Swan!" Mr. Banner yelled.

"Actually… it's Bella." I said timidly.

This seemed to make him even madder. Edward snickered, and made his way to the door.

"Mr. Cullen, I do recall, telling you t o stay after class…"

"Oh yeah. Sorry B." Edward said nonchalantly.

"Both of you will receive detention lunch detention tomorrow! Be here or else you will both receive a week of detention." Mr. Banner warned.

"But—

"No buts, Mr. Cullen. I do not care if you are the Captain of the basketball team, you will come to lunch detention. Am I clear?"

"Crystal." Edward muttered. So he was the captain, eh? Wow.

The both of us walked out the door, and I bumped into Alice.

"Oh sorry Alice, I didn't see you there." I muttered.

"That's okay Bella. So I heard you guys both got detention. Should I be scared to ask why?" Alice asked, curiously.

We didn't say anything for a minute, and then I burst out saying, "It's his entire fault!" I pointed at Edward, "If he wasn't so dang cocky and conceited and whatever else he is, we wouldn't be in this mess!"

"My fault?" Edward asked, shocked and offended. "Correct me if I get it wrong, but weren't you the one who pushed me into B?"

"Yes…"

"Weren't you the one who rudely corrected B for getting your name wrong?"

"Yes. But—

"And weren't you the one who—

"Okay, okay. Fine… it was both our faults." Edward looked like he was going to pop a socket. I laughed and grabbed Alice's hand and we headed off to gym.
