Chapter 2: temper

As soon as the words were spoken the demigods all leapt to their feet ready to spring into action at any moment whilst simultaneously shouting 'Noooooo you can't do this'. The gods sat there just watching while Poseidon and hades leapt up and started shouting at Zeus using all types of profanities.

Percy however just stood there vison clouding with rage and protectiveness for his cousin, knuckles clenched so tightly they were becoming white and storm brewing in his eyes like the ocean itself. He looked up at Zeus through his lashes and said one simple word 'stop' although there was noise enough even to drown out his voice somehow it was heard and everything stopped the demigods looked at Percy and realised he was close to breaking point and though they should have stopped it they thought that Zeus deserved it so they merely stepped back all of them other than Jason had to be dragged away by piper why he was thinking 'what's little puny Percy going to do he has no power I have more of a chance than him'. The gods however just stared at him they could see the rage building inside of him and knew one thing they didn't want to be on the receiving end of it so they calmly sat down and just watched waiting to see what would happen between the king of the gods and a very angry teenager.

Zeus glowered at Percy hate and disgust the main emotions showing on his face 'why should I stop it's not like you can do anything your just trying to save yourself you are weak compared to me you are nothing I am a king' Zeus bellowed.

The demigods were staring at the match up until that point when they burst into laughter earning confused looks from Zeus and when they noticed his expression and Percy gritting his teeth they said 4 words 'now you've done it'. Until the point where Zeus had basically called Percy a coward, weak and that he just wanted to save his arse Percy was trying to reign in his anger it wouldn't do well to get angry at the king of the gods. Then Zeus just had to make him lose control and so a hurricane started with Percy in the centre shouting 'you say I am nothing and that you are everything you say I am weak and you are strong you say I am a coward and am trying to save myself then oh how wrong you are Zeus'

Zeus looked on in amazement and a little bit of fear at the demigods words but he overrode that thought as soon as it had entered his head replacing it with 'he can't hurt me I am a god' and merely pointed his master bolt at Percy and struck he expected there to be a scream of pain and then a singed corpse falling down from the roof what he didn't expect was for the demigod to still be floating there with lightning now swirling round with the hurricane completely unharmed, and what he definitely didn't expect was for the demigod to let out a scream of pure rage then hurtle himself at Zeus with such a speed that you couldn't see him and what he didn't expect was for him to be pinned to the ground by and eighteen year old boy with a sword at his throat.

Percy looked down at Zeus and could see the fear in his eyes yet he didn't feel hate for the man he felt pity that he thought he was too powerful to be taken down and through gritted teeth Percy said 'are you still going to kill Nico and I or have I proven my point' Zeus nodded his head to say he had and so slowly Percy got up off of him and Zeus dejectedly walked back to his seat lightning bolt in tow while Percy merely just brushed of his clothes and hadn't yet noticed the gods staring at him in disbelief and wonder until Poseidon shouted in joy 'yeah that's my boy' then the tension relaxed and everybody sighed in relief as 5 books fell from the ceiling.

Annabeth picked them up and read the titles 'Percy Jackson and the lightning thief, Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters, Percy Jackson and the titans curse, Percy Jackson and the battle of the labyrinth and finally Percy Jackson and the last Olympian'.

'So' Hestia said 'shall we read them then'. They all nodded as yes and so Annabeth picked up the book and began to read.
