Abagil stood in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror rolling the diamond ring on her left ring finger. She had finished her hair and makeup and was looking herself once again the mirror. Looking at the counter top she picked up the pearl necklace. As she was about to put the pearls around her pale neck when Erik's voice called through the closed bathroom door.
"Are you done yet? We don't have all night!"
Rolling her eyes, Abagil held onto the with her left hand and opened the door with her right. Opening the door she saw Erik just laying on the king size bed hovering a coin above his head. Placing her hands on her hips, Abagil glared over at him. Hearing the door open Erik looked up and caught the coin in his hand.
"See was that so hard? You look stunning."
He said standing up and stretching his arms. As he stood he pulled down on his vest then started playing with gold wedding band on his ring finger. Abagil walked across the room and put the pearls on at the same and grabbed the matching bracelet off the vanity.
"Are you even ready?"
She asked when she saw the black fabric that was his bow tie still on the vanity. She grabbed it and turned towards Erick, awaiting his answer before showing it to him.
"I've been ready for an hour, Abby."
Then she held up the bow tie and his hand went to his neck then gave her a guilty look. Abagil rolled her eyes and walked over to him and pulled up his shirt collar, then wrapped the silk fabric around his neck.
"You know how much I hate tying those. They never look straight when I do it."
"What would you do without me?"
"Be horribly depressed and lose without you and your beauty."
Erik said looking down at her. Abagil moved her left hand up a bit, making Erik's head look straight, making his neck crack.
"Ow."
He said with a chuckle, making Abagil smile and let out a small laugh.
"Sorry. You just need to look straight ahead."
She said as she tied the bow tie around his neck. She looked up at him and saw that he was smiling and trying not to laugh.
"What's our story?"
"We're Jonathan and Samantha Müller. We meet it New York at an art auction. I'm an art collector and you're a housewife. And we live in Brussel, taking care of your dying mother, and we've been married for six months."
After a few moved seconds she stopped and rested her hands on his chest, inspecting her work.
"Can I look down yet?"
"Yes, smart ass."
She said with a smirk then she turned and walked away from him, only to have Erik grab her wrist and pull her into his chest.
"I wasn't joking when I said you look stunning. Is that the dress I bought for you in-"
"Paris? Yes."
Abagil said looking up at him as she watched him looking her up and down in the tight long black dress. The way he was looking at her made the hairs on her neck stand up. It reminder of the way a wolf looks at a sheep before it attacks.
"I have to say that the woman and store was right."
"About what Erik?"
"That it would look incredible on you, however it looks better on the floor."
He said with lust in his eyes and a smirk on his lips. For what seemed like the millionth time that night Abagil roll her eyes at him and pushed him away from her.
"Don't try to seduce me, Erik. You'll have plenty of chances later. We have a job to do remember?"
"I'm just trying to get into character."
Erik said trying to defend himself, only making Abagil scoff and walk towards the door, grabbing her coat and clutch off the back of a chair as she went. Erik caught up with her and wrapped his arm around her waist as they walked. Holding out his left hand he made the door open then double checked the handgun that was tucked in the waistband of his suit pants. As the couple walked out into the hallway, with his freehand he closed the door without touching it, making Abagil scoff again.
"Show off."
Erik chuckled at her as he lead her down the hallway of the five star hotel towards the elevator.
"You wouldn't have me any other way, Abby."
"You're right about one thing."
Erik and Abagil stood in front of a large wall of paintings drinking from their glasses. Erik had his arm loosely on her waist as Abagil drank from her champagne glass.
"If this isn't creepy, I don't know what is."
"You don't have to tell me twice."
Erik said taking a fresh sip of his bourbon. Both his and Abagil's eyes looked up at the wall of Hitler painting. They didn't understand why anyone in their right mind would buy something painted by that crazy man. But they weren't there to buy artwork. The two mutants were there to find Walter Schneider. A doctor and colleague of Schmidt.
"Beautiful, aren't they?"
A short older man asked as he walked up the couple. Erik looked over at him and a smirk formed on his lips.
"Yes there are. Especially The one in the middle."
"Ivan Gram."
He said with a hint of a Germanic accent on his lips as he said so, holding his free hand out towards Erik. Letting go of Abagil Erik shook his hand.
"Jonathan Müller. And this is my lovely wife, Samantha."
"Lovely indeed."
Schneider said smiling at Abagil, reaching out for her hand and kissing it. When his lips touched her skin a cold shiver ran through her whole body as flashes of her captivity came back to her. Erik saw her uneasiness and placed his hand on her lower back, comforting her.
"You alright, love?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Nothing a drink can't fix. If you'll two excuse me."
Abagil said walking away from the two men and towards the small bar on the other side of the extravagant art show room. When she got to the bar she ordered another glass of champagne and leaned against the bar. Abagil gripped onto the bar and closed her eyes, taking deep breaths. As she did that memories came folding back to her from her childhood, most of them were of Schneider. Her grip on the bar made her knuckles go white and the anger and fear building up in her made the water around her start to bubble. The memories started to become more vivid and she felt someone wrap a hand around her waist. Abagil's fear rose and she felt her powers started to boil the water in the glasses along the bar.
"Abby. Love, it's okay."
Erik's voice said behind her. Hearing his voice made her eyes shot open and the memories stop. His hand moved around in soft circles around her lower back.
"It's alright Abby. You're here with me. You're safe."
Letting out a labored breath, Abagil felt her panic level drop and her powers cut of it's hold on the glasses of water around her. Turning back around to face Erik Abagil looked into his eyes and shook her head.
"I'm sorry Erik. I shouldn't have-"
"It's alright, Abby. No one exploded."
He said with a small laugh, making her frown up at him.
"That was one time. Sorry that I don't have control of my gift like you do, Mister Perfect."
It was Erik's turn to shake his head and he let out a light chuckle. Placing his hands on her bare arms, he kissed her nose and smiled.
"You're doing wonderfully. Now Ivan would like to show us his boat."
When Erik said boat Abagil couldn't help but smile at the word. This is what she loved about Venice, water was everywhere. She felt so powerful when she same to this city, she could do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted.
Getting her full glass from the bartender, Erik lead her back over to Schneider, who was standing next to the large glass doors that lead outside and down to the private dock that the art collectors used to dock their boats.
"Lead the way Ivan."
Erik said as him and Abagil stood in front of him. Ivan smiled at the couple and opened the door and walked out into the cool Italian night. With his hand still on her back, Erik walked with Abagil down the stairs. As she walked Abagil would drink for her glass, her eyes never leaving Schneider's back. Her and Erik knew that they were close to finding Schmidt, he couldn't hide forever and he was running out of old colleagues to keep him safe.
"Ivan? Have you always been an art collector?"
Abagil asking, making to make conversation with the ex Nazi doctor. He looked back at the couple for a moment and smiled.
"I was a doctor, but I passed my business on and came into the art business. What about you Samantha?"
"As of right now I'm taking care of my dying mother, she's 92. I stay at home while this one goes out to show."
She said with a fake laugh. Then the trio was standing on the dock and Schneider pointed over at a small wooden speed boat near the end of the dock.
"There she is. My Jizzabell."
Schneider said with pride in his voice. Abagil looked up at Erik and saw him give her nodded. Smiling, she moved her hand a bit towards Schneider and her body picked up on the water inside of him. Slowly Abagil started closing her hand. As she did so she could she that Schneider was starting to feel uncomfortable. He tried shaking it off and losing his tie around his neck, but nothing was working.
"Is it hot out here of is it just me?"
He asked looking back at Erik and Abagil for a quick moment before taking a step towards his boat.
"I don't know, Doctor. What do you think Abagil?"
Erik asked with a smirk on his face. Schneider turned back towards them with a confused look on his face.
"I'm sorry did you just call me-"
"Doctor Walter Schneider? Yes I believe he did."
Abagil said with a wicked smirk came to Abagil's face as she looked at him. Schneider looked at Erik and Abagil like he was a sheep being cornered by a pack wolves. Taking a step back from them, he looked back at his boat, planing his escape.
"If you two are from the collection-"
"We're not interested with your money, doctor. We just want a location of someone."
"Anything. Just don't hurt me."
Erik smiled down at Abagil and she started closing her hand again, making him start to cough as she cut off his air supply.
"Where's Schmidt?"
"How do you know that name?"
"Think about it Schneider."
Erik said holding out his hand, bring out the handgun out from the back of his pants, holding it out in mid air.
"Erik Lehnsherr? Is that you? And this little thing must Abagil Friedrich. I must say that you grew into a beautiful woman. Do you remember all of our time together Abagil? Because I do."
He said baiting her. She took a step forward and raise her other hand, making water come up from the river, grabbing his ankles and hold him in in the air upside down.
"I see you've learned a few new tricks."
"Shut your mouth!"
"Abagil."
Looking back at Erik, Abagil saw the stern look on his face. She took a breath and then looked back at Schneider, still holding him in the air.
"Where is he?"
Erik asked, taking a few steps closer to him, now holding the gun in his right hand. Schneider just laughed as he was hung in the air. Then with Abagil's other hand she squeezed harder, making he start to cough move and fully cut off his air supply.
"Where is Klaus Schmidt."
"Switzerland! He's in Switzerland! Geneva!"
Erik looked back at Abagil and nodded his head and shrugged his shoulders. Abagil let go of Schneider, dropping him the dock and he started coughing again, bring air back into his lungs.
"Thank you. Thank you."
He repeated over and over again to both Erik and Abagil. Erik put the gun back in the back of his pants and turned to walk back over to Abagil.
"I don't know what you're thanking me for."
"What?"
"You see, I'm walking away from here. But we don't need loose ends. Do we Abby?"
She smiled again as she watched the face of Schneider change to fear. He went to stand up and jump to his boat, but Abagil raised her hand again, bring water up from the river. The water grabbed onto him then pulled him down below the surface of the river, dragging him to the bottom.
"You heard him. We have a train to catch"
Erik said holding his hand out for her. Abagil turned away from the river, letting go of the water, and looked over at Erik. She smiled and took his right hand that he held out for her. Together her and Erik walked back up to the large museum on the river side.
Author's Note:
Holy shit. I haven't updated this story since May of 2012. Damn.
I wanted to start this back up again, because the other night I finally watched X-Men: Days of Future Past and I fell back in love with Erik. And I thought to myself, why the hell not write more into this.
So here we go! After years of waiting I wrote a chapter two!
I'll try to update every two weeks. I have a bunch of other stuff to do.
Follow, favourite, and review!
Super sorry for the almost three year wait.
XOXO
