Shinso is insane.
He revels in chaos and shies from order. His very realm is built upon it, ever shifting and sometimes formless; it is never logical, and neither is he. Gin has only been there twice, the first when he learned Shinso's name and the last during the turmoil of leaving Soul Society, and he has no desire to go back. But Shinso thrives there, and Gin's ever-shifting moods only strengthen his wild zanpakuto.
Most spirits prefer the calm days, the inner weather that results from a shinigami's peace of mind. But Gin wonders if Shinso would survive if he himself ever achieved peace of mind, for Shinso revels in every tremor of the spirit. The jolt of meeting Aizen, the thrill of destruction, the delight in deceit - Shinso drinks it all in.
Most spirits hate the rain. Yet during the storm that raged through Gin's soul the first time he left Matsumoto, Shinso was euphoric. Even now, he urges Gin to bring back the tempest, even though Gin has quieted. Even though in Hueco Mundo there is no one left to break his heart again.
He tries to avoid the fact, but at times even Gin is forced to recognize that Shinso is the only thing that scares him.
