Hey guys! Sorry this took forever and a day. I hope you guys like what i have so far and i take any ideas and/or criticism.
Emma heaved a heavy sigh and stopped in her tracks before turning around.
"Do you want something?' she sighed, she really wanted to curl up in her bed ad cry.
The teacher glared at her through pointed eyes. "Yes, what I'd like to know is why you think you can disrespect me in such a way and Principal Gold let's you get away with it." she seethed.
Emma rolled her eyes. "Look lady, maybe it's because his son Neal is my boyfriend," she hated saying Neal had any connection with her but hopefully it would get the bitch off her back.
The older woman seemed to ponder this for a minute, "Well, it's still no excuse for your behavior. You'll be serving a detention tomorrow after school with me."
Emma laughed, this woman really didn't have a clue how things worked around here did she. "Yeah, that"s not going to happen, i have to babysit my kid brother and go to some dumb party with Neal so detention's not gonna work."
"I'll just take that up with the principal then," the teacher pursed her lips in anger.
"You do that," Emma began walking out of the stuffy classroom.
"Miss Swan?" the teacher stopped her again.
"Yeah?"
"Most teenagers love going to parties, why don't you sound excited?" the brunette asked curiously.
"Well Ms. . ."
"Mills," the woman filled her in.
"Right, well parties aren't fun to me. They're mostly about being arm candy and cleaning up my boyfriend's puke." Why was she telling the bitchiest person on the planet how she felt? What the hell?
Ms. Mills frowned "So why go?"
Emma paused, how was she supposed to answer that? She crossed her arms over her chest and glared at her new teacher. "Why do you care?" she asked defensively.
Ms. Mills let out a small chuckle, "I just like to know my students."
Yeah right you nosy bitch, Emma thought. Without saying a word she adjusted her bag and left the classroom.
To skip, or not to skip? That is the question. the blonde thought to herself as she dialed her locker combination. She didn't think she could face the rest of the day. In Emma's opinion school was bullshit and her grades couldn't get any worse so why spend the rest of the day sleeping while a teacher droned on about something she would never use in everyday life?
She threw her folder in her locker and checked her reflection in the mirror. She had to keep up appearances as Neal's girlfriend. When she saw every hair was in place and no new zits had sprouted she tucked the mirror back into the locker.
Grabbing her phone, she shot off a group text to Ruby and Belle saying: I'm leaving early, please go to Killian's party though, i need you guys.
Within two minutes of waiting she got a reply from both of her best friends saying they'd be there. She breathed out a sigh of relief and walked out of the back of the school so she wouldn't get caught leaving. She headed to the one and only place she could cry in peace.
The next day after reevaluating her life and babysitting her little brother Emma was clad in a skin tight aquamarine dress that brought out her eyes and showed off her cleavage, black strappy heels, and the swan necklace Neal had gotten her on their one month anniversary. In everyone else's eyes it was a sweet gift, but to her it felt like a collar that signified she was Neal's and only his.
She ran her fingers through her blonde curls and breathed out. She smiled at her reflection as confidently as she could. Tonight would be like every other party. She'd make an appearance, wait for Neal to get high or drunk or both and then she'd spend the night at his house. Same old same old.
She heard her parents welcoming Neal in, Neal was an asshole but, he was always respectful to her parents and Henry.
"Emma," she heard her mother call from downstairs, "Neal's here."
Emma took one last look in the mirror before heading downstairs. She put on her best smile when she saw her parents and Neal talking.
"Hey," she kissed him on the cheek.
"Hey, you look amazing," he took her in with hungry eyes.
"Thanks, so do you." He was wearing a plain white shirt and black jeans.
"Have a good time tonight Ems," her father handed her her coat.
"Alright Daddy, don't forget I'm staying at Belle's so don't wait up."
Her parents nodded, how could they be so trusting?
When they got to Killian's boat house the party was in full swing. The music could be heard from a mile away. They walked into the boathouse hand in hand and looked around for Killian and the rest of Neal and subsequently Emma's friends They found the group sitting on the couches. The group of couches were formed to make one big circle. Neal greeted his friends and sat on the couch next to Killian. Emma was about to take the seat next to Aria when Neal grabbed her hand.
She looked at him confused.
"Come sit right here babe,"
"There's like no room Neal," she tucked her hair behind her ear and knitted her eyebrows.
He waved his hand ignoring her statement "There"s enough room on my lap, come on."
She felt the heat rise to her face, he couldn't be serious. "Excuse me?"
Killian chuckled at her obvious discomfort, "You heard the lad," he took a swig of his beer.
Neal patted his leg again and waited for her to obey like she always did.
Through the corner of her eye she saw Aria whisper something in her friend Ashley's ear and giggle.
She took a step closer to Neal and he pulled her in. He nestled her perfectly on top him and played with her hair like she was a dog. She leaned in to kiss him like everything was okay. He kissed her back forcefully and rubbed his hand up and down her thigh. She moaned at his touches and ran her fingers through his hair.
Aria's snobby voice filled her ears. "Can you two take that up to the bedroom, we really don't need to see that." she flipped her dirty blonde hair with an air of superiority.
Emma smirked, "I doubt you'd be saying that if Phillip hadn't broken up with you."
She heard a few collective gasps from Aria's bitch clique and some "oohs" from the guys. Neal himself even whispered "damn". Everyone knew that Phil and Aria's break up had been rough on Aria. No one ever brought it up in fear of upsetting StoryBrooke High"s reigning princess. Emma wasn't afraid of her though.
Aria's eyes widened in shock and anger. "Listen you little slut . . ." she began.
Emma rolled her eyes, but before she could interrupt Neal put his hand on her arm. She leaned into him to hear what she had to say.
"Just ignore her babe, she's jealous."
Aria laughed "Why would I be jealous of her? Everyone knows she's only with you because your dad has money. She thinks she can just run around skipping classes and being a total bitch to everyone just because she's dating the principal's son, well she's not anyone special, all she has to do is spend an hour with you in a janitor's closet and she's got you wrapped around her finger. I'd rather be single than be your little whore." She stood up with finality and her group of wannabes followed after her.
Emma bit her lip and stared at the ground. Is that what people really thought about her? She slid off of Neal's lap and mumbled a lame excuse.
She rushed out of the boathouse as quickly as she could and ran until she couldn't breathe anymore. When she tripped she sat on the gravel road and took off her heels. As she walked through the night she wiped the tears away with her hand.
She heard a loud honk fro behind and hopped out of the way as the car drove by. Still walking slowly she watched as the car reversed and stopped in front of her.
The driver of the black Mercedes rolled down the window.
She stared directly into the face of the nosy new English teacher. The teacher waved her over to the car.
Emma shrugged, what more did she have to lose. She walked over to the window.
"Get in," Ms. Mills said.
Solemnly, Emma walked over to the passengers side of the car and slid into the seat.
"Buckle up," was all the brunette said. Emma obliged and closed her eyes, enjoying the silence and the rhythm of the car movements.
