A Journey into the Unknown

Rose: Now to this chapter! Well… It was supposed to be us rewriting chapter 2, but we actually have to finish the rest of the first chapter xD

Luna: Yes it's actually quite fun rewriting stuff

Rose: it really is. And we get to see how bad I write by myself xD

Luna: OI, I helped too even then!

Rose: I guess that's true too. But now you're a more active part and that really helps since we have two pairs of eyes looking for mistakes.

Luna: That's true~

Rose: Now for chapter 2 AKA the rest of the old chapter 1 xD

N (POV)

The preparations for the speech were going smoothly. No one had made mistakes and everything looked professional. Only to be expected of Ghetsis. The townspeople were once again crowding around the plaza, mumbling their guesses on what the speech would be about. All it would be was the same speech they heard 3 months ago, if not a little more forceful. I stayed on the sidelines, watching the crowds reactions. My faithful companion Zorua was walking around as well. He seemed anxious to get this over with and move along. He even started climbing the trunk of a nearby tree and laid on his back and started playing with the leaves above him.

"Zorua? We'll be done here soon, I promise." I spoke softly to the black and red fox, who kept mindlessly playing with the leaves. I gave one last glance at the crowd and realized another person had joined. The blue jacket and unique colored hat made it clear who it was. It was the young trainer I ran into in route 1. He looked around, unaware what everyone was mumbling about. Meanwhile, his Oshawott was on his head once again, looking around as well. I shook the thought from my head. He was reminding me too much of that girl and her friends. Last I had heard, she was in Driftviel City, attempting the gym there. But nevermind that.

Ghetsis walked up to the plaza and addressed the crowd. He told them his perfectly crafted speech once more, expecting more people in favor of liberation. Meanwhile, I sat at a bench nearby and paid it little mind, since I've heard the speech again and again. I practically memorized all of them by now. I guess I can see why Zorua was so bored of this. I wish I could climb trees like a child, if it was socially acceptable. But, I was to sit like a normal person, since that was how I was raised. After a while, Ghetsis thanked the crowd for listening, packed up, and left the town, his entourage following him closely. I looked up only to see Black heading towards me, his Oshawott chirping happily at Zorua, asking if he was a new playmate.

"We meet again. I apologize though, I don't believe I caught your name. " I asked politely to the brunette.

"Ah… the name is Hilbert, but my friends call me Black." Black? What a peculiar nickname. I suppose that means he is either related to, or is friends with the girl, White. But, they are nothing alike from what I know so far. " It is nice to meet you. You may call me N." I held my hand out towards him, as a friendly gesture.

"Pfft...I'm sorry but, can you say what your name was again?" He asked, seeming to be trying to hold back a laugh. "It's N. Like the letter?" I said again, making sure to speak clearly in case he didn't hear it right before.

"...Is that short for something or…?"

"Yes, it is short for something."

"Is it ok to ask what it is?"

"That's quite the personal question, Black. Not one new acquaintances should be asking quite yet." I let it slide this time, since he seemed to be apologetic enough.

"Oh, sorry then." he muttered, he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jacket and looked down at the ground.

Behind us, Zorua had climbed down and started playing with the Oshawott, who happily started chasing the fox around. At this point I knew that the conversation had gone stale, so I attempted to think up a new topic.

"So… What did you think of that speech?" I asked calmly, hoping to get his stance on Pokemon liberation. He looked away, is he not agreeing with the subject?

"I thought it was...wrong." I suppose he would think that as a new trainer. But, nonetheless, the subject was making him anxious, so I knew I'd best leave then.

"Well, it was a pleasure meeting you, but I believe it's time for me to go. See you later Black." With a short wave, I left Accumula and headed towards route 2, Zorua following closely behind after a quite bark of goodbye to the Oshawott. I quickly made my way to the next city. Afterall, Ghetsis had told me he needed to talk to me there, so I needed to get there as soon as I could. When I arrived in the quaint city, I remembered the Munna that was there three months ago. It's abilities were useful… I turned to my friend.

"Should we go catch a Munna?" Zorua scoffed and shook his head. 'Nah. We don't need one. I think we can handle ourselves just as well without.' He wasn't wrong. I turned to head to the trainer school, when I heard faint sounds of a Pokemon whimpering. I turned my head and went with my gut, running towards the sound. Sure enough, a small Lillipup was on the ground by the Dreamyard, getting kicked by some Plasma grunts, while the small dogs trainer watched in tears. My blood boiled at the the grunts.

"What do you think you're doing?!"

Black (POV)

I watched the green-haired teen walk away with his pokemon, a Zorua I believed it was saying. I have a strong feeling that I'll be seeing him more times then I'll like to during my adventure. I suppose I could call him my rival but...from the way he asked me what I thought of the speech and the way he acted when he saw I was a new trainer, he must of been one of those people that don't do a whole lot of battling with others. Actually...now that I'm thinking back, when I asked for his full name he told me that's not something an acquaintance should be asking. An acquaintance, really? He was either really formal, or just wasn't used to have friends.

Oh well, I sighed and looked over at my partner who was laying against the tree. I called him over and he scurried as fast as he could and jumped on my shoulder. I laughed and poked his cheek and started walking the same path my 'acquaintance' had took. The thought made me want to laugh a little. 'Acquaintances' huh? So be it. The breeze blew gently on my face as I looked at what was ahead. "Well Oshi, I think we'll show him, show him that Pokemon and humans together are powerful, and that there is no need for liberation!"

Rose: the second half of the first chapter is finally done! Ugh… Everyones gonna get confused since I have to shuffle the chapters. xD

Luna: This is probably the most fun I've had all summer

Rose: xD I feel bad for the readers. They'll be so confused.

Luna: Hey, if they are reading this then they'll know what's going on

Rose: this is chapter 2! All other chapters are moved up a place and are being rewritten! Like last chapter. Go to that chapter if you haven't already! Hopefully that helps the confusion.

Luna: Farewell for now!
