A/N: So, I finally managed to get working on the second chapter of this fic, and its Harry's first time to the alley. Its more information to the way Harry's mind works and what he has planned for school! I know that this fic is moving incredibly slow, and I do apologise, but I am working on my other fics as fast as possible and soon I am sure this one will be moving on up the chain of importance!

Anyway, Harry won't be completely unfeeling, but he will be cold, cruel and sadistic, most of the time. There will be a pairing, and I think I know which one I'm going to use… but you will have to wait and see ;). The other thing is, I have yet to decide which house Harry is going to be in, atm the odds are on Slytherin or Ravenclaw.

A little message letting everyone know that as all my stories are going to behind schedule, this one is still going to fall to the bottom of the pile because of Christmas and I doubt I won't have time to be glued to my laptop! I apologise in advance,

I thought I would post this chapter as a Happy Birthday to Tom Marvolo Riddle – One of the greatest Wizards to walk the halls of Hogwarts!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!

Disclaimer; Unfortunately I am no J.K Rowling, I wouldn't mind meeting her however…

As he wanted, Harry made his uncle drive him to London first thing in the morning for his first expedition in to the magical world, he hadn't found the time to go previously so he had waited for his letter like Petunia said would come and decided it would be best to go then. Petunia came as well as she was the one who knew the location of the Leaky Caldron, Harry told them he would return later and ordered them to have everything in order for his return. Harry looked at the pub in slight disgust, but pushed his way through making sure he kept his face blank giving him an unknowing aristocratic look, he had chosen to wear pressed black trousers with a charcoal long sleeve shirt; his attire contrasted beautifully with his pale skin. He walked confidently up to the bar his face morphing in to innocence, a small smile forming as he looked up to the bar man.

"Are you Tom?" Harry made his voice sweet and enticing.

"Aye lad, you wan' t' go t' the Alley?"

"Yes please." He made sure to sound excited even though he would never allow anyone else to hear his actual excitement like that, it worked for him though and Harry followed Tom in to an archway at the back of the pub.

"Watch carefully lad." Tom told him drawing out a slim wooden stick which Harry presumed was his wand, he watched as Tom tapped a certain brick and they folded out to reveal a bustling alley. Harry was amazed, but the only sign of that was the widening of his eyes, Tom muttered something about the bar and left him in the gateway. He stepped through and took a deep breath, the magic; it was everywhere. He could feel it in the air, from the people, the shops even in the very floor he stood upon and it filled him with a sense of belonging. Yes Harry thought, this is where he was truly supposed to be, this was his world and he would set his place within it. Harry drew himself up and strode forward confidently, he kept his magic wrapped around him as a shield just in case; he was in an unknown place he wasn't about to let his guard down. Harry elegantly walked up the marble staircase of the massive white building nodding to the two strange looking guards and missing the look of surprise that crossed their faces. He approached a free teller and waited until the creature had finished his writing.

"What do you want human?" Harry raised his eyebrow at the disrespect, it was unnecessary and not something he would take lightly.

"I wish to speak to someone about my account." His voice was clear and strong infused with magic to get his point across.

"Name?"

"Harry Potter." The creature's eyes widened and its eyes darted to the lightly covered scar, an action Harry made a note of.

"Of course Mr Potter sir," The creature called over another, who was named Griphook, to lead him down a marble hallway off the main area they stopped outside a pair of double doors and Griphook knocked smartly. When permission was granted Harry entered the elegantly decorated office where an elderly looking creature was sat behind the desk.

"Mr Potter is here to see you Director Ragnok." Griphook said and bowed out the office.

"Have a seat Mr Potter." Harry took the chair in front of the ornate desk as it was offered to him.

"I am Director Ragnok Chief of the bank and head of the high council of the goblin race." So that's what they are Harry thought giving a nod or respect for the powerful creature before him, it wouldn't do to alienate someone so powerful and if he could gain something with someone with obvious power then it would only be beneficial to him.

"I have been looking over your accounts and they are all in good order, there are responsibilities and protocol you need to know being the sole heir to the Potter fortune, but I would recommend an inheritance test to see if you have any dormant holdings then we can go through everything at the end." Ragnok explained crisply getting straight to the point, Harry liked him he was no nonsense.

"I will take the test first director it is much simpler." Harry answered storing all of his inquires until the end because they may already be answered during the process. Ragnok instructed him to let 3 drops of blood fall on to a sheet of parchment and to wait for a minute. When it was ready the blood began to morph in to curving calligraphy:

Harry James Potter.

Potter

Black

Peverell

Denver

"Indeed this is quite a surprise." Ragnok muttered looking at the sheet.

"Why is it so surprising?"

"This is a list of the families you are the heir too meaning that when you become old enough you will be the one of, if not the, most influential wizard in the wizarding world making you now the richest person alive." Ragnok explained and to say Harry was surprised was an understatement, but he kept it together easily. His quick mind already making plans to which he could use this new information and what it would mean to him,

"What does that mean exactly?"

"Today you will be given you heir rings to signify your standing within this world, they can be hidden if you wish them to be and when you become 15 you will take your standing in the wizarding world where you can have access to the full family vaults and your seats in the wizengamot. Today you will be given a book on each family with all the information needed on that family, including monies, possessions, members, political standing and investments and the ability to perform wand magic legally outside Hogwarts as per ancient clause. Due to this fact, you are no longer in need of a magical guardian to oversee all of doings and the books can only be opened by the current Head and Heir, any questions?"

"What is a magical guardian, and who was mine?" Harry asked slowly, he did not like the thought of someone overseeing something that belonged to him and he didn't like the fact that someone could have been calling his shots since his parents' death.

"You do not know who your magical guardian is?" Ragnok said shocked and Harry shook his head.

"I see," Ragnok murmured, "This is most unheard off, all orphans are supposed to meet with their magical guardians regularly to integrate them correctly in to the magical world as parents would do with their children. For a child of Noble birth not to be aware of their station is highly irregular, and most disturbing."

"Is this going to be a problem?" Harry questioned thinking quickly, if he was missing things then he would have to make time to learn everything he had missed. He wanted to know who dared keep something as important as this from him, it was not something he appreciated and there would be hell to pay.

"I do not believe so, as you have 3 Noble and Most Ancient names behind you, you become your own guardian within the magical world even if you cannot actively use your influence until you are 15 which gives you time to learn everything you need in your own time." Ragnok told him and Harry nodded relieved, it wouldn't be acceptable for him to be behind due to other peoples mishaps, "According to your file, your magical guardian is Albus Dumbledore and he appointed himself after your godfather was incarcerated."

"Dumbledore saw fit to take charge of my life and leave me in the dark of my heritage?" Harry confirmed but his voice was much softer than before, Ragnok looked over at the boy sharply and couldn't help the shiver that went up his spine. This child was dangerous.

"It appears so," He answered carefully,

"And is this normal procedure?"

"No, as I said before this is highly irregular."

"I see," Harry answered, he was not pleased with this, it seemed as if Dumbledore was hiding much more behind that benign mask of his; Harry made a note to tighten his guard around the man more so than ever and he would be finding out exactly why someone who shouldn't have any legal right over him was meddling in his affairs.

"Do you have any other questions?"

"No, I do not believe I do as of now. I think it wise if I study the information I was withheld and thoroughly go over my accounts, I am but 11 meaning I have time to learn what I must know." Harry told him and Ragnok seemed please with that answer, he pulled out 4 leather bound books with a ring case on each; Potter, Black, Peverell and Denver. Harry slipped the rings on to his right ring finger and willed them to be invisible.

"As of now you have a trust vault from your immediate house witch has been filled with 50,000 galleons once a year from day of your birth so in that vault alone you have 550,000 for you to spend as you wish." Harry blinked a few times at the amount, he was living well now as he controlled the finances but now he could afford to like the queen of England and still have change. "Every year you gain another 50,000 on your birthday until the age of 15 where, as an orphan, you take over the main vaults. From now, you may only take books and scrolls from the vaults, all monies, jewels, weapon and armoury and other such things must remain within the vault until the age of 15."

"Ok, I believe I will return to browse my vaults for books at a later date. It seems as if I have quite a bit to be reading for now."

"Very well," Ragnok agreed, he suggested to Harry that he purchase a Gringotts card, which worked in the muggle and magical world, so he didn't have to carry large amounts of gold with him. It was a brilliant invention which Harry quickly snapped up, he locked it in to his blood and he said farewell to Ragnok and headed out back in to the bustling Alley. Harry walked swiftly to the book store called 'Flourish and Blotts', he had decided he would gather information on the wizarding world before he conducted his business.

He hated showing weakness to others and having a lack of knowledge would be doing just that, he entered the store and went straight to the section marked 'General Knowledge. Harry scanned the titles and pulled out several books; 'Introduction to the Wizarding World', 'Wizarding Customs' 'Wizarding Etiquette', 'Magical Transportation' 'Hogwarts: A History', 'Magical Races', 'The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts', 'Greatest Events of the 21st Century' and finally a large ancient tomb called 'The History of the Wizarding World'. He purchased the books and left the store with the books carefully shrunken down in his pocket, Harry headed back to the Leaky Cauldron and through to London. He hailed a taxi back to Privet Drive paying with the money he had on him from the Dursleys, he entered his house to find it silent with everything in perfect order; just how he liked it. He found his 'family' huddled in the living room and sneered at them in disgust.

"Have my food ready within the hour, I want a chicken salad with no onions, bring it to my room." He snapped at Petunia before sweeping upstairs to begin reading, he had a lot to get through and little time as he wanted to be ready for his birthday which was less than a week away, especially as he wanted to go in to his vaults and browse the books in there. He unshrunk the books with his magic and settled comfortably on his bed with 'Introduction to the Wizarding World', it wasn't a very large book just a brief overview on the basics of the wizarding world like blood status; pureblood, half-blood, muggleborn, squib and muggles, the ministry and what in entailed, the current minister and the need to know information like its main spot; Quidditch.

Petunia had brought up his food with an ice cold glass of apple juice while he was reading, but he ignored her in favour for his book, he pulled up the etiquette book next as he may need to actually practice how to behave in public especially if he was so famous. It was lucky because there were a few things he needed to practice and remember so he chose to begin after he had eaten. Harry had most of it perfect, but he needed to remember the titles in the wizarding world and who was above whom or he would stick out. He revised the image of a lordship rings and the heir rings and the stones which indicated where in the wizarding world they stood, for example; Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, Sapphire and Onyx were symbols of Noble and Most Ancient House who were on the top. Topaz, Aquamarine, Peridot, Pearl, Opal and Amethyst were the Noble houses which were under the ancients and the ordinary housed were plain, you could tell the hierarchy of the houses in their groups by the band; platinum was the top, gold then silver.

Harry was happy to see he had 2 platinum ancients; Peverell onyx and diamond and Black onyx and emerald, one gold ancient; Potter ruby and sapphire and the Denver was just a noble gold with amethyst and aquamarine. It made him very influential and Harry wanted to make sure he acted accordingly, however he knew that he would be different to what he was supposed to be like simply because he was above such confines and he would establish his own status; even if he had to use what he already had. Harry had no qualms on using whatever was around him for his own gain, he may like to build everything from his own being, but he wasn't about to throw away a gift on a shining silver platter when it could boost him quickly. Harry also practiced his posture like he did every night like sensei instructed him to, he glossed over greetings where the only different to the muggle world was you kissed the lady's hand not cheek unless told otherwise which would be important because it could cause a high amount of embarrassment on his behalf if he got that wrong. He already knew how to dance for gatherings, but he wasn't too sure on wines as his previous etiquette class didn't cover them at a young age so he read through that section, he finally got to the main thing he was looking for; attire.

Wizards wore robes. Casual robes for day wear quality and style depending on status and wealth, work/uniform for obvious reasons and dress robes for occasions, they wore whatever underneath unless they were in dress robes when dress trousers and shirt. Then there were cloaks. These were instead of jackets, there was the plain cloak with or without sleeves, then ones with hoods, then the shadowed cloaks which hid your face and form and they all came in plain to decretive. After that it was just the non-descript day to day things live never touching another's wand without permission, image is everything and status was key. When he had clearly memorised everything he needed to know he settled down for sleep not before clearing his mind to calm himself; it was something he had done since he could remember.

Harry was up at 6:30am as usual falling in to the familiar position for his martial arts warm up before he began to practice his moves, he had been doing mixed martial arts for several years and he was ecstatic to achieve his black belt earlier in the summer; not that he expected anything else. He showered and changed and went downstairs where his breakfast was just being served, he gave Petunia money for shopping and ordered Dudley out of the house until 4pm as he had things to do. When the house was clear he brought his books downstairs and read in the comfort of the living room relaxing to the peace and quiet, he found it amusing and annoying to find his name in multiple books but he took note of everything it said. He really was a 'hero' which made things a lot more difficult, it seemed everyone knew his name and he would be watched like a hawk. Having attention on him was one thing but this seemed to be ridiculous. This would make things difficult as he would either have to act everything, friends, admirers, beliefs or he could be a himself, the latter would stamp out fans and hangers on and he would be able to move more freely; he would have to think on it some more.

In 'The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts' he came across the term 'mudblood' a word used to describe muggleborns by purebloods and dark supporters, Harry thought the term was fitting, but he didn't care either way. New blood was needed but the mudbloods were taking over a beautiful society and soon they would be discovered by muggles which was unacceptable. He also spotted that his own bloodstatus could cause a problem with the blood supremacist, as a Halfblood he was considered below the purebloods, something that he would not stand for in the slightest. He was below no one, and anyone who tried to tell him of that would be in for a very rude, and painful, awakening. Of course, he could let them stew, those who thought they were above him because of his blood, it would be amusing to see if anyone dared push him too far. Harry smirked to himself, yes, that would be a much more entertaining it he lured them in to a sense of security before putting them in their places.

He could be over-thinking, there could be no blood supremacy in Hogwarts, but it never hurt to have a plan preset in case. And if it was a case of blood purists attacking him, it would only help him with wrapping the teachers around his fingers. The poor apparent hero hated because of his blood, such a shame. Harry released a cold laugh, he hoped that his plan came in to action at school, he would hate it if everything was too simple. The book in general was very bias screaming the evils of the dark arts but nothing on the actual subject itself which was highly disappointing, but Harry would look in to it more when he bought his school supplies. He found out what had made Dumbledore so famous. He had defeated a previous Dark Lord named Grindalwald and he was supposed to be the only one Lord Voldemort ever feared.

There was not very much information about the Dark Lord within the books accept that he apparently feared Dumbledore, but that didn't make any sense to Harry because fear was something that made people do stupid things and someone who had successfully ran an entire empire more or less wasn't stupid and couldn't afford to be stupid either, so it added more questions to the list of things that Harry had growing. Harry realised with a frown that he was a figurehead for the light which was something he couldn't do as Dumbledore was the leader of the light and Harry would never follow anyone; ever, add to the fact that Dumbledore was obviously hiding something or things from him that Harry did not like whatsoever.

He covered 'Hogwarts: A History' where he read about the school itself and the founders, Harry learned about the magic taught there and the castle itself which sounded amazing. He flicked through the 'Magical Races' book looking at goblins, house elves, vampires, werewolves, fae, veela and many others which weren't seen in the UK, then he glossed over the 'Magical transportation' where he discovered that it was apperation he had done previously when he was young, there was also portkeys, the floo system and something called the Knight bus. The history book was just to be back ground reading and the customs book was similar to the etiquette. Harry smirked feeling better knowing he wasn't going in to this blind; he would hate that.

He would have to read through the family books soon as there were four of them he would be reading for the rest of the summer as he would also have to study the family trees, the behaviour and the customs for each add to the fact he would have to study and practice his magic for the upcoming year. He was going to be busy, but that didn't bother him, he saw it as a challenge. There were also the books he might pick up from his vaults and other things that caught his interest, it took a lot to capture his interest as most things came to him very easily which meant he got bored quickly. That was how he became so in tune with his magic. He had gotten control and started to use it back when he was younger which meant he could act to his full potential, Harry had thought it would occupy his mind by perfecting his academic scores and doing extra such as languages; only it didn't. He tried pushing himself, learning instruments, more languages, art and advancing his education to A Levels and nothing seemed to be difficult, whatever he put his mind to came simply to him and, while Harry enjoyed the proof that he was superior to others many times over, it frustrated him.

So he began to experiment with the mysterious power only he seemed to have and he quickly found himself amazed, there was so much he could do so he began testing himself to see what he could do and he had not found something he had been unable to do; much to his immense delight. During his experiments he had discovered that his magic was rather wild, it seemed to flow around him alerting people of his presence so he had learned to keep it under his iron control and only release however much he wanted or required when he wished to. He usually kept it out around the house as a reminder to the Durselys of what he could do if they over stepped their boundaries, they rarely did, but when the few times arose it brought Harry a little amusement. Harry checked the time and sighed, soon they would be back and it caused him a high amount of distaste to be in the same house as them let alone room. He pulled himself up and headed to his room, Petunia would serve him there when the time came, he would leave his meal orders on his door; ah the joys of having obedient servants.

He would miss them in Hogwarts, but he supposed it wouldn't be too difficult to obtain some new ones, he would quite like his own little group of people set to serve him. And he did like toys, ones that were solely his, because once Harry chose them then they would only belong to him. Yes, Harry thought, he would get him some followers; they could come in handy.

Harry decided that it was time to start the family books. The books he had bought in Diagon Alley he had committed to memory and he could recall everything perfectly, Harry thought it would be prudent to understand the politics of the wizarding world and the hierarchy he wouldn't be undermined and he refused to be played. Not that he would allow someone to play him and he was all too aware that he had a face of an angel, people always under estimated him and that would be a severe advantage for him. Let them try and play him and he would enjoy the consequences that followed from that, and by the time they realised that he had turned their game around on to them he would have already destroyed them.

Harry started with the Potter one figuring it was best to know his own family first, the book held a lot more than what met the eye and Harry only managed to get through his family tree in a whole day. He realised that the books would take a lot longer than he thought so Harry decided to prioritise the sections of the books he would need to read. Knowing his entire family tree was irrelevant to him, especially within the Potter house as they were all dead so he decided to concentrate on all of the things he would need to know such as family magics, political sidings and decisions, allies, feuds and important decisions made by his family. He also made a note to review his entire account to look at properties, monies, and other such things that came with House Potter.

Harry had managed to flick through the other books and decided that while he was most interested in the Peverell house, he would have to read Black next as it was through his godfather in which he inherited it from, he also found that his grandmother was a Black too meaning he held Black blood making it impossible for his claim to be disputed; luckily. There were also many other names married in to the Potter name other than Black, and Harry had to spend his time memorising crests and status' of other families, it was rather mind numbing work, but he needed to know it so he managed to finish the Potter tree. As they were clearly going to take much more time that he had assumed given their size, he had decided to complete his school shopping so he would not have to make anymore necessary trips.

He made his way back to Diagon Ally to gather anything else that took his fancy as well as browse his vaults. Harry thought it would be best to get his wardrobe first as he was rather picky when it came to his looks so it was bound to take while to be made and he could go back for it, today he was dressed in crisp black trousers, black long sleeve shirt and a thin black tie, he had always believed image was everything so Harry made sure he looked his best for everything and in the wizarding world that would not change. First impressions were usually the set up to whatever he had planned, if he wanted people to love him he would dress in a childish smart and portray himself as a perfect angel, if he wanted to show his intelligence he would dress crisply and use his full vocabulary; first impressions were everything. He stepped gracefully in to 'Madam Malkins Robes for all Occasions' and was immediately approached by a kindly looking older lady, using his magic to get a read on her he decided to play the poor orphan and slip his name in at the end just to see the actual affect, it would be a good experiment to see the reactions of someone from the wizarding world and it would give him some information on how to act.

"How can I help you today dear?" She asked him, Harry looked up at her with a small nervous smile, he shuffled on the spot slightly before speaking.

"I need to get fitted for everything, school robes, daywear and dress robes." Harry told her in a soft voice, "I've been told this place is the best," She smiled and nodded happily already seemingly taken with him, she ushered him on to a stool to take his measurements, the lady, what Harry assumed was Madam Malkin, handed him a book to choose his styles, material, designs and colours. She explained the difference between everything too him almost absently telling Harry that she had done it before, Harry listened and nodded in all the right places making little flattering comments that made her laugh and by the time she had finished sizing him she was practically cooing over him. He chose all dark colours, blue, black, green and a very dark red it was almost black, all of which he knew complimented him well, his dress robes were to be one green with silver detailing, one black and white and the final blue, black and silver. He also chose the best material for everything and it came to a substantial amount when Madam Malkin priced it up, and Harry swore he gained a discount on that too, but Harry didn't care; it wasn't as if he would run out of money any time soon.

"Would it be possible for me to wear a day robe now?" Harry asked politely looking a bit sheepish and she smiled at him,

"Of course dear," She went to the back and Harry mentally sighed in relief, he was not about to go about the wizarding world looking like a common muggle, Harry mentally snorted, he never looked common. Madam Malkin came back in to the main room and handed a dark green robe made from acromantula silk, he also bought a beautiful black cloak with black clasps and ordered the one necessary one for school.

"It will take me a couple of hours to make and pack everything so if you could leave your name you can come and collect everything later."

"Harry Potter Madam." Harry answered looking down, she dropped her wand in shock.

"Harry Potter, in my store, what an honour Mr Potter, and such a sweet boy you are," She gushed, Harry gracefully kissed her hand and flashed a smile.

"I thank you for your services today Madam."

"It was no trouble, especially for you." She said, Harry smiled again and he swept from the store, if that was the reaction he would get by just going in a store it could be beneficial. It seemed the orphan card was a winner, with witches and his name anyway, he could work with that. He glanced around the alley deciding where to go first. He saw a dark alley of the side labelled Knockturn Alley and agreed that would be where he would get anything dark, but he decided to leave that for today. Harry knew he would be in the book store for a while so he put that to the back and decided to gather his school supplies before getting his wand and making his way towards the bank, he pulled out the list and made his way towards the apothecary.

He brought the 3 first year kits as he planned on practicing as much as possible before he went to school and then he went buy his cauldron and his magic made everything small for him to tuck away in a pocket. Next he picked up a his parchment and quills and made a note to learn how to write correctly with a quill, he had perfect calligraphy with a fountain pen so he had every intention of teaching himself how to write with a quill, and then he headed off to buy all the odds and ends on the equipment list. Schooling his features to mask his excitement, Harry stepped calmly in to Ollivanders: Makers of fine wands since 362BC, the magic in the store was thick and it made the hairs of the back of his neck stand up. Wrapping his magic tightly around him he walked further in to the store, he felt someone behind him so he showed no reaction when a soft voice broke through the stillness.

"Good afternoon Mr. Potter." Harry's eye twitched in minor irritation, he didn't appreciate being snuck upon.

"Good afternoon." Harry answered in his soft musical voice, the man who Harry presumed was Ollivander looked at him for a few seconds before going on to speak about his parents' wands and how the wand chose the wizard. He began handing wands to Harry and each one just felt like a dead piece of wood, the stack of tried wands was growing but Ollivander was just getting more and more excited, Harry on the other hand was slowly getting impatient. When the next wand Maple and phoenix feather was not a match Harry snarled under his breath, Ollivander was pencieve for a second.

"I wonder," He dashed of out the back and came back with a dusty box, he opened it to reveal a bone white wand with a beautifully carved snake twisting in to the handle.

"13in Yew and phoenix feather," Harry took it and felt a rush of power, he brought it down in a sweeping motion and it released poisonous green sparks from the tip; this was the one.

"Well done, Mr. Potter, well done indeed, curious though very curious."

"What's curious?" Harry asked with his eyes narrowed.

"I had a lot of trouble with that wand Mr. Potter, it and its pair are completely unique. Originally I was to put your core, the phoenix feather, in the wood of holy but it reacted very badly, the core would not respond to any other wood but yew. That in itself is not what's curious, it is curious that the phoenix which gave its feather gave another feather, just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand when its brother gave you that scar." Harry felt a thrill shoot through his spine, but Ollivander wasn't finished. "Brother wands are rare in themselves, but they have happened before, what makes yours and its counter so completely unique is the wood given from the yew tree I cast your wand from is the very same tree I cast its brother from." Harry looked at him sharply at that and Ollivander nodded slowly, "Yes, yew 13in phoenix feather identical to your wand, even the length and it has never happened before Mr. Potter and I doubt it will ever happen again. Twin brother wands," Ollivander finished in an awed whisper, Harry gazed at his wand in admiration.

"We can expect great things from you Mr. Potter, after all He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things, terrible but great." Harry paid for the wand and a holster before leaving the shop with a smirk on his face, he could guarantee he would not be great; he would be extraordinary. Nothing else was acceptable for him. He walked up towards the bank and headed to the nearest teller, he waited patiently for the goblin to finish its work before it looked up.

"I wish to enter one of my vaults." He stated clearly.

"Do you have your key?" It demanded and Harry was tempted to raise an eyebrow but he didn't and kept his face blank.

"I do not have a key for the vault I wish to enter." He replied and willed the Peverell ring to appear on his pale finger, the creature's eyes widened and he snapped his finger. One of the other goblins came forward and directed Harry to a passage he hadn't entered yet, instead of more marble Harry saw a stone passage that just seemed to go down. A cart settled in front of them and Harry got in warily,

"Hold on, the cart goes one speed." The goblin told him and that was the only warning he got before it shot forward. It was definitely a thrill as it speed through the catacombs and Harry could feel they were getting deeper and deeper underground, he spotted a wave of orange and blinked in shock, he could have sworn he had just seen a dragon, but he couldn't be too sure. They went further down still and the second time Harry was sure he saw a dragon, he wondered why the goblins had a dragon down there, but then Harry thought it was a pretty good incentive not to try and burgle the bank. When they finally came to a stop Harry was directed to a metallic black door set deeply in the cave wall, the Peverell coat of arms printed proudly upon it in silver.

"Press your ring in the centre of the coat." The goblin instructed and Harry did just that, there was the sound of many locks unlocking and green smoke billowed out, the door melted away and it was everything he could do not to gape in utter disbelief. The vault, which was used in very loose terms because it was like the size of the entire Dursley house inside, was filled to the brim with everything imaginable. On the back wall there were many weapons and sets of armour that glistened in the low light, on the right there were shelves and shelves of books and scrolls that had Harry mentally salivating to get his hands on and on the left there were chests filled with priceless jewels, there were many cases and boxes that Harry knew to hold jewellery and he was stunned. Harry stepped in and he saw that the vault seemed to lead off somewhere, he followed it and stopped by the sight he saw.

Gold.

Gold upon gold piled up to the ceiling, heaps of silver and tons of bronze, and it all seemed endless. He went to step forward but found himself stopped by an invisible barrier and he smirked, it stopped him using the gold he wasn't allowed yet. He tried the same thing with the jewels and the armour and found the same result, he wasn't bothered because it wasn't what he came for and so he went towards the books. There were books on all types of magic which he grabbed a few of each, but the ones that caught his eye were the ones on magic. No specification or classification, just magic and that was what Harry was interested in. He took the two he saw and tucked them away, he didn't take any of the scrolls because he didn't see any that caught his eye as of yet, but he didn't doubt that he would be back to collect come of them. Nodding to himself, he left the vault and climbed back in to the cart where they shot off again and soon enough he was back blinking at the bright light.

Straightening his robes and drawing himself up in the correct manner, Harry decided it was time to delve in to the book store where he knew he would be a while and so he made his way over. He first gathered his school books before he went topic by topic. He chose the basics for everything for grounding before gathering books up to 3rd year in every subject minus divination and muggle studies, he also picked books up on wizarding politics, the ministry and law. The clerk looked at him in amazement before tallying everything up, Harry paid with his card and left. He thought it would be prudent to get a trunk and a school bag as he would not be bringing his current school one, his trunk turned out to be pretty amazing. It was a multi compartment trunk with a wardrobe, library, potions lab, school section and a misc section which could be used for anything. The outside was black with metallic black hinges and lock, he had his initials printed green in his own elegant script and it was charmed to shrink and be feather light with a tap of his wand. He purchased a matching backpack with an extension charm as well as the feather light one on it, he paid a neat sum for it but it was worth it.

Last on his list before collecting his clothes was getting an owl, he had read that they were used to send mail and as he refused to rely on anyone for assistance he would have his own, he didn't know what he might get up to at school so he would get one as a precaution; and he wanted an animal. He had always likes animals, they were loyal to those who looked after them and Harry valued loyalty. He remembered, with fondness, the snakes he used to talk to in the garden, they always stayed loyal to him and came whenever he called until they had passed because of nature; Harry would love a snake of his own. He enters Eeylopes Owl Emporium in search for the perfect owl, he would not have just any owl, he was browsing when he spotted a stunning snowy owl with glowing golden eyes; she was his. He walked over and held out his arm for her, she looked him over as if judging him before giving a hoot and landing lightly on his forearm where he placed her on his shoulder, he made his way to the counter when something caught his eye. It was a raven but it was different, it was slightly bigger and it was too black, as if sensing his gaze the bird tuned to look at Harry with eyes which were a vivid crimson red. It expanded its great wings and soared over and landed on his other shoulder which caused Harry to raise an elegant eyebrow, the bird was beautiful and he had to have it, it contrasted perfectly with his white owl.

"So you're coming with me as well." It nodded and Harry got the feeling it was a he, when he reached the counter each bird flew to the cage they wanted and he purchased a perch for them each; already spoilt.

"I would like to pay for those." Harry said clearly indicating the two arians.

"You want the knight raven?" The clerk asked shocked and in a little bit of fear, Harry gave a sharp nod making a note to look through his magical creatures' book.

"Well good luck to you, no one has been able to get near it." The man told him as he priced everything up, Harry shrunk it down and left ordering the birds to fly to his house. He was making his way back up the alley he spotted another animal store and decided to enter to see what else was sold as pets in the magical world, his lip curled involuntarily at some of the creatures and was walking past the reptiles when he heard genital hissing which was very much understandable.

#I shall not be here much longer python# an angry female hissed, curious Harry looked towards the snakes.

#How do you know, we do not know your abilitessss here it isss not sssafe# A male voice answered.

#My new Massster isss here and he will take me# Harry blinked and discretely looked around, there was no one else even in the store besides the keeper so he was right to presume they were speaking of him.

#I am assuming you are speaking of me# Both snakes looked around, one was a muddy brown with khaki markings but it was the other that caught Harry, it was a poisonous green with a black and crimson diamonds down its back.

#Yes I can sense it, you are my new Master# Harry weighed out the pros and cons, he had always wanted a snake but he wasn't allowed them in school then he scoffed; he would do as he pleased.

#Come with me then# She slid up his arm and he paid and left, finally he got back to Madam Malkins where he picked up his clothes and left the alley calling for a taxi to take him back. He's relatives had his meal waiting for him which his aunt carried up the stairs behind him and as soon as she had left his room he began unshrinking all of his purchases, he packed everything in to his trunk in its correct place and turned the misc. compartment in to a living space for his new snake. He placed the perches on his desk and removed his robes, he needed to find a way to clean them as they were made of extremely expensive material and he would not ruin them with a muggle contraption.

After his food his new birds swooped in and landed on their perches and went to sleep, he continued with the Potter family grimour skipping to the latest information that he would immediately would need to know about the Potters, he discovered they had a seat in the wizengamot, they were a light family for the past 100 years, they were the 6th richest family in the entire world as his father has spent quite a bit of their wealth on the war effort. This confused Harry as they went in to hiding, but was still funding the war dropping them from 3rd, there was a list of the investments he currently held and of what percentage, a list of vaults and the contents of each and a list of property where he discovered he owned house elves which could be a help to him. There were no current blood feuds or betrothals which Harry was highly thankful for as he didn't see anyone who would interest him enough to even consider a relationship with and the fact he was only 11. Harry decided that he knew enough of his family tree and other details to be fine on the House of Potter as he wouldn't need the laws which his family had voted for until 15. Harry stretched and his snake decided to make herself know from his arm.

#Hello Masster#

#Hello beautiful, I believe you have sssome explaining to do# Harry told her with a raised eyebrow, the snake nodded.

#I am Enayah, I am a magical sssnake with many abilites the most prominent is being able to reduce my sssize# She told him and Harry tilted his head.

#I want to sssee your normal sssize# She slithered down his arm and on to the floor, she thickened and lengthened until she reached an enormous size of over 10ft and the width of Harry's entire torso, Harry blinked in shock before breaking out in to a feral grin.

#Thiss isss brilliant#

#Thank you Masster# She shrunk back to a respectable 3ft so she could wrap around his arm again.

#I do not know what ssspeciesse I am specifically as I am the last of my race and my mother was killed when I was a mere youngling, but I am highly venimousss and can change the nature of my venom so it can merely paralyze or put to sleep and once we bond you will gain some of my qualitiesss such as enhanced ssenssess, and sharper movements and we will be able to ssspeak in the mind#

Harry nodded and picked out the magical creature books he bought flicking through to magical bonding, he found it was called the familiar bond. It stated that the bond was for life and a familiar was the perfect companion based on your magic, they would aid you in every which way possible and you would gain abilities from the bonding, the only downside to a familiar was if you could not control them they would control you through the bond as it was connected by the wizards magic. There were some cases where the familiar was leaching magic and used it to feed the wizard animal qualities making them less human, but Harry knew that would never happen so he agreed to bond with Enayah that night as the book said it would likely to cause the wizard to feel extremely sleepy. Harry sat back and dove in to his new books, he thanked his stars for his photographic mind, he shuddered to think where he would be without it.

The magical theory book was crap in Harry's eyes as he had already disproved some of the rules and he would more than likely break the others soon, in Harry's mind if he wanted something his magic would comply with his wishes. He also read through the standard book of spells where he decided to practice in the morning, Harry planned on leaving the books from his vault for later as they were not needed for school. Enayah slithered out when he put his book down and looked at him through her dark eyes, Harry couldn't help but smirk at the fact that he had gotten himself a wonderful new pet. He quickly changed for bed and when he gave his nod she bit his hand, he gave a sharp hiss of pain before his was his with overwhelming drowsiness and slumped for sleep.

So, do you like it? I know it was a bit of a filler, but I wanted to expand on Harry's mind set and the way he is because I'm trying to build up his character. Harry won't be a complete psycho, nor will be shunt everyone, but he will use whatever it takes to get what he wants, the concept of right and wrong to him are very different to most and I have no intentions of changing that!
