Draco Malfoy was never really satisfied with life. Sure he got everything he has ever desired, but it was still very far away from what he truly wanted. Many people have hated him because of his family name, or maybe it was because of his personality, or simply for being a Slytherin. When he was very young, the only thing he wanted but never had was a younger brother or sister. At that time, his dear mother told him that he was the only child she will ever want; that he was her moon that brightened the darkness of her mind, and the cloud that protected her from the harmful light. His father, Lucius, has told him many stories about the Dark Lord, and how he wanted to make life much easier and safer for them. Draco believed them.
Getting to know Draco was something no one wanted but had to, because of who he was and what family he came from. People would often declare how arrogant and self-centered he was, and they were probably right. One thing Draco knew for sure; it was the fact that he was better than everyone else, no matter what other people might say. Arrogant, self-centered, cocky, bully, hateful, and a loser; these are the things he thought about every night before going to bed. If there were people who hated him more than the Dark Lord, he probably hated himself more than that by a great deal.
When he was eight years old, he made a friend called Gregory Goyle who was so different than him. Gregory wasn't a bright child as he was. He was an idiot who never thought before acting. Gregory was still the first friend Draco made, and that made him special. Sure, their friendship wasn't as normal as other friendships, but it was still special nonetheless. Gregory Goyle has always acted as a minion to Draco when they were in the public eye since Draco refused to show others any weakness; let alone having a friend like some silly person. When Draco and Gregory were ten years old, they found a boy trying to kill a frog by stepping on it. They later found out that his name was Vincent Crabbe, and he became the person that completed their triangle.
Growing up, Draco noticed something about his feelings that never went away and left him alone. Feeling empty was mostly what he felt his whole life. Depression was killing him slowly without a warning. He didn't understand why he felt that way. It wasn't like he had a terrible life or an incident that made him the way he was. A normal childhood, loving parents, good friends, and owned everything he wanted; his life was good so far. There was no emotional ties with his parents, since they believed that it was inappropriate for a member of the Malfoy family to be an emotional child which he was grateful for.
He opened his eyes slowly while hearing a piercing scream that almost took away his hearing. What he saw in front of him was a nightmare he never dreamed of before. He was sitting in a forest which made him shiver. Nature was a filth he didn't like. There were eleven people surrounding him. Two men holding another while he screamed with his blood floating on a rock, and a short man standing above him laughing. Four men were standing in different positions as if they were protecting the group, holding swords. A bulky woman was tied to a tree with a bloody face, and two men standing a little far away from her, staring, whispering, and laughing.
"She's even uglier than you," said the first one and continued to laugh.
"Compared to her, I could be the Knight of the flowers," the other one replied.
"That sissy man is only useful for a good fuck."
"Are you laying with men now as well?"
"I rather have this ugly cow than that feminine lord," said the man and spat on the floor.
Little by little, Draco couldn't resist his eyes as they closed and he was pulled into a memory of his father sitting on a chair in their library.
"Father?"
"Haven't I asked of you to not disturb me while I'm reading?" said his father as he laid his silver eyes on his son.
"It's mother."
"Oh? Have the delivery gone well? What is the gender of the child?"
"Father… the child is dead," said Draco in a soft voice.
His father's face or posture didn't change, but his hand gripped the book tighter than before. That was probably the only reaction he was going to get from him.
"And how is your mother now?"
"She's in distress."
"Come and sit next to me," said his father as he put the book on the table and went to sit on the couch.
When Draco sat down next to his father, the dream disappeared and he opened his eyes once again.
He found himself riding a horse while his hands were tied, and felt the presence of someone behind him. Trying to see who was sitting behind him was useless and it only brought a smack to his head.
"You bether noth move thath head o' yourth or you mighth juth lothe it just like how the Kingthlayer lotht hith arm."
All Draco wanted to do was to scream at the man for being a filthy Muggle, but the place was too suspicious to make any irrational moves. His father would probably lose his shit over the state he was in. Seeing himself as a child didn't bother his as much as the forest he was in, or the man behind him with his bad breath. Getting inside his younger body was something Draco was used to. He has always hid behind his childhood's mask whenever he was in trouble. It was probably because his parents couldn't dare to harm or punish him when he looked like that.
After what seemed forever, they have finally reached a city which Draco was grateful for.
Standing in the rain with the mutilated man and the bulky woman while being surrounded my people wasn't a good idea. He only hoped that he would be able to escape before using his magic.
"Jaime Lannister," the man who seemed to be the leader spoke.
"Lord Bolton," the armless man greeted. "I have thought that the house of Bolton was loyal to us."
"I serve one king only," Lord Bolton said.
"The only true king is my nephew, Joffrey."
"I'm afraid we both would disagree on that," said Lord Bolton. "Stannis Baratheon have been claiming otherwise."
"Stannis Baratheon would say anything to connect his bum to the throne." Said Jaime Lannister. "Have you forgotten that he is a cursed man? All his sons are dead and the only trueborn he has is a little monster girl."
"We are not here to discuss Stannis or any other self-claimed king," said Bolton. "Please forgive my men for how you have been treated. Your father, Lord Tywin Lannister is a good man to be followed and I'm afraid my men didn't know any better." He looked at some of his men and addressed them, "escort Lord Jaime to a place where he can bath and relax and when he wants to see me, you shall allow him. He is a guest here."
"Lord Roose Bolton, please hear me out first," said Jaime Lannister. When the men's intense eyes landed on him once again he continued, "This is Lady Brienne of Tarth from the Sapphire Isle. I'm sure if she was kept safe, you would have a great reward. She is after all the only living child of Lord Selwyn of Tarth."
After a moment of silence, the other man replied, "Take Lady Tarth to a room and treat her as a guest to the House of Bolton. I do not want any complaints from the lady."
Roose Bolton's eyes landed on Draco, and the latter thought that finally someone was giving him attention.
"And who might be this young boy?"
"We found him thleeping in the foretht, my Lord," said the man that was riding the same horse as him.
"His hair…" trailed Lord Bolton as his eyes studied Draco. "If the Targaryens were alive to this day, I would say he was one of them."
"My Lord!" one of the people screamed. "There have been a rumor about the prince and princess of house Targaryen being alive. Maybe he is one of them, or the offspring of a bastard."
Jaime Lannister's eyes landed on Draco for the first time since their journey together. Knowing Roose Bolton, the man would gladly skin the boy just to display the beautiful fair skin, white-blonde hair, and the grey eyes would certainly be used for something. He found himself not really caring about the boy, but perhaps he could be of some use to him. Maybe he could get him to deliver a message to King's Landing. His sweet sister would be happy to hear from him after this long time. Maybe if the boy was found useful, he would be a squire to him. Jaime might have lost his hand, but the vengeance was flowing through his veins and he knew that he would get revenge on these bastards for mutilating him. After all, his left hand was still there.
"This boy was my brother's squire," said Jaime Lannister loudly to get the attention he wanted over all the voices the people were talking with and giving their opinions. "My brother would pay very well for the boy's safe condition."
"He could get any other squire at any time." Said Bolton.
"That would be true, but the boy is a half Lannister," lied Jaime Lannister.
Draco Malfoy sighed and stayed quiet. He didn't really know how to act, so the best option for him was to go with whatever happens as long as it doesn't harm him.
"What is your name, squire?" asked Lord Bolton.
"Draco," said Malfoy, "Draco Ma… Lannister."
"Rodrick, take the young Lannister to his room," said Lord Bolton. "Make sure he's comfortable, and he's not allowed to get out of it unless I ask for him."
Draco was disturbed from the manhandling of the guy named Rodrick and how he grabbed his arm and pulled him toward a room.
Luna was eating her lunch with Bran and Rickon when Lord Robb entered and sat next to his youngest brother.
"How was your day, Lord of the North?" asked Luna.
"It was good so far," answered Robb. "Everything is going very well since the time I met you. It seems that you have the Gods' blessing."
"Have you addressed your sister's matter?"
"Is Arya coming back?" asked Rickon.
Robb looked at Luna. "I don't think you should talk about these matters."
"I'm sorry," apologized Luna. "I was just curious since I've never seen your sisters before."
"That's alright," said Robb. "Why don't you three finish your lunch and then follow me to the stables? Bran, I have a surprise for you."
"Great!" exclaimed Bran.
"What about me, Robb? What about me?" shouted Rickon.
Robb winked at his younger brother and went outside.
Luna's thoughts went back to Draco Malfoy. She couldn't wait for Jon Snow to get away from Winterfell so he could find the boy. Ever since she arrived into this world, she couldn't stop thinking about the Slytherin since he appeared in her first vision. All the plans she have made could wait until they unite with each other. To go and search for the man they seek would be the hardest part. Knowing the man, she had a feeling that he knew they were coming for him. Even though all she knew about him were small things, she still felt as if he was an important piece of the puzzle they needed to finish to get out of this mess.
Thinking about the future was a hard thing for her to do. She knew that her path would take her to Kingslanding, where she would meet the king and serve him because of her powers. There were two different visions she had. One, she would be safe and serve him well. The other, she would be burned to death because of the people who would want her dead.
"Is it true that Jon is going to leave for the wall?" Asked Rickon.
"No!" exclaimed Bran. "Who told you such thing? Jon is not a murderer, nor is he a thief or a criminal."
"But I heard mother talking to the Septa, and she said she wish Jon would go to the wall soon."
Luna stood from her chair.
"Luna!" whined Rickon. "It's unfair that you go to see Bran's gift before him or me. We're the Lord's brothers so we should get to be the first. Always."
"Do not speak to Luna that way," Bran said, scolding his brother. "You shouldn't be arrogant because of your family. You should treat everyone with kindness and not let them think that our family is bad."
"Sorry," said Rickon as he lowered his head down.
Luna merely laughed and went to the room that was given to her. She lay on the bed and her mind took her back to her own father. He was always there for her when she needed him and even if she didn't need him. He was a man with a great sense of humor and appreciated the art. Painting her was his favorite thing to do, besides staring at his late wife's pictures.
A knock on the door made her jump.
"Enter," she yelled.
"My Lady," said a servant girl. "Lady Catelyn requested your attendance in the kitchen."
"Do you know why?"
"No, my Lady."
"Thank you," said Luna as she made her way toward the kitchen. When she entered, she found Lady Stark sitting with her two youngest sons, along with Septa Mordane.
"Have you asked for me, My Lady?" asked Luna as she sat down next to Rickon.
"Luna, my dear child," said Catelyn. "Three days from now, we would have a feast and I want you there. I want you to get measured for a new gown that would be made just for you. You are a ward of the Lord of Winterfell. You should be presented at the feast."
"As you wish," said Luna. "May I know what the feast is for?"
"It's a celebration for Robb's new betrothed," said Catelyn while smiling. "The marriage would be good for our house. I hope Robb likes his wife as well. I'm sure he will grow to appreciate her eventually."
"Congratulation!" exclaimed Luna. "I'm really happy for Lord Robb. He is such a nice person and deserves the best."
Catelyn smiled at the young girl. She reminded her of Sansa. Her manners were almost the same, and that's what made Catelyn like her.
"Bad news! Bad news!" screamed a man from the outside, and kept screaming it until he arrived to the kitchen.
Lady Catelyn along with Septa Mordane and Bran stood in worry while waiting for the man to speak.
"M- my Lady," he said softly and immediately looked down.
"Is it Sansa? Arya? Robb? What happened?" she screamed at the man. "TELL ME!"
"Jon, my Lady," the man said. "Jon Snow. He's dead."
I honestly got busy with life and forgot about this fanfic until Guest reviewed it. Thank you, whoever you are. You made me truly happy. T_T
I noticed a lot of mistakes in the first chapter, and promise to fix it as soon as I'm able to.
