I know it's odd to have a chapter II in a one shot, but this is fanfiction...and as an author I will do what I wish.

This is another song that I think goes perfectly after this story, and it is by Evanescence. My Immortal is the name, and it is a sad, sad song. However, I think you will enjoy it.

I dedicate this to ME...and to the millions of others who have survived the loss of a friend or loved one, and now are looking for a reason to continue when everything seems Broken.

Enjoy two different endings and tell me which one is best

Segment 2: I'm Not Alone

It had been a year since the terrible accident that had taken their beloved hero, and still Warfang had yet to recover from the devastating blow. A somber mood had fallen upon the entire planet since that day, but it is within the dragon city's walls where the pain of Spyro's loss is felt most.

Cynder, who had been given the great honor of living in the palace with the Guardians, has literally been sitting inside the same room the whole time. Only leaving when it was necessary, Cynder has stayed locked in this room, not allowing anyone inside except Spyro's tiny family.

However, as the small dragonfly family is gathered in the mushroom village, attending another ceremony for the anniversary of their beloved's passing, Cynder is left alone. And the loss is hurting her more today than ever.

"I'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all my childhood fears." she says to herself, looking out the only window to the night sky, and the small purple star that appeared the day Spyro died "And if you truly had to leave...I wish that you would just leave."

Tears begin filling her eyes, as she literally begs her love to stop haunting her.

"'Cause your presence still lingers here, and it won't leave me alone."

Cynder begins sobbing uncontrollably, like the day he died, and every day since.

"These wounds won't seem to heal...this pain is way too real, there's just too much that time cannot erase."

Her heart begins aching, as it has every time she thinks of what to do with her life, believing that it has come to an end. Nothing in the world seems possible, not even the thought of becoming the first Shadow Guardian can lift her spirit.

"I can't do this without you!"

Of course you can!

His voice spins Cynder around to see the silhouette of the one she loved.

"SPYRO!" she yelps with elation and runs full speed across the room to him, only to find it was a figment of her imagination. However, as she breaks down crying, a soft mist is felt upon her chin, and slowly it lifts her head up high.

When you cried I wiped away all of your tears...

A translucent purple paw then reaches out, and clears the stream of tears from her face. Spyro then holds her, and Cynder can feel the tightness in this ghostly embrace of magic.

When you screamed, I fought away all of your fears...

Spyro's ghost then releases his embrace upon her, holding only her paw now as he looks her in the eyes.

And I held your paw throughout this year...

Cynder raises her own paw, placing it in front of the apparition of her love, keeping him silent as she argues the reason for her pain.

"But you still have..." the dark dragoness pauses, as she squeezes Spyro's paw, showing that he is not real to her, proving this loss is one she faces alone "...all of me."

Spyro lowers his head, hearing such pain inside her voice, and is unable to keep from showing his own emotions. The tears that fall from his eyes actually splash on the stone floor, proving his pain is real as well.

"You captivate me, by your resonating light...am I'm bound by this pointless life you left behind."

Cynder then pauses, looking around at the many reminders of Spyro, as this room is adorned with many of his personal effects, none of which she has been able to get rid off.

"Your face now haunts, my once pleasant dreams. Your voice, it chased away, all the sanity in me."

Cynder lowers to the ground upon her red stomach, as her paws can no longer take the strain of her own weight, and she looks up at her purple hero with such a broken stare.

"These wounds won't seem to heal... This pain is way too real... there's just too much that time cannot erase."

Cynder rises back to her feet, getting face to face with the ghost of her love, and now shows the anger that is rising to the surface.

"When I cried, you wiped away all of my tears, and when I screamed, you fought away all of my fears, But I had no paw to hold throughout this year..." Cynder squeezes the right paw of Spyro, and again she feels nothing but smoke and mirrors.

However, she can see he is feeling her touch.

"…and you still have...all of me".

Cynder lowers her head knowing how hard she is making this on Spyro, who continues to splash his tears upon the ground as he hears the pain that he thought would leave with this spiritual visit.

"I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone...but though you're still with me..." Cynder places her paw alongside Spyro's cheek, trying her damn hardest to feel his presence, but getting only a breeze from the window behind him.

"...I've been alone all along."

A moment goes by before the room lights up brightly, as a strong glow suddenly begins to shine from Spyro's heart. It flashes with so much power that it knocks Cynder back several feet. The dark dragon covers up with her scarlet red wings, keeping herself from being blinded as Spyro's body explodes with a light brighter than the sun.

Her senses are then overwhelmed by the smell of her beloved, the taste of his essence, the sounds of his breathing and his pulse.

Then it suddenly happens.

Her paw is grasped tightly, allowing the dark purple and red dragoness to feel that familiar touch for the first time in a year. This forces Cynder to open her wings and see the miracle taking place before her eyes.

Spyro doesn't know how, nor does he care, he simply grasps his love and holds her as tightly as he can without injuring her.

Cynder, feeling her hero's embrace getting stronger and stronger, remains silent in his arms, hoping, praying, this is not a dream. She looks out of the window and into the night sky, where that lone purple star has stalked her since that horrific day, and watches it fade away with a twinkle of bright light.

A feeling of security overtakes her fear, as she realizes he is back for good, and Cynder begins to cry.

"When you cry...I will wipe away all of your tears..." he says, and brushes a single tear from her face.

"When you scream I will fight away all of your fears...And I'll hold your paw through all of these years..."He grasps her paw tightly again, and looks her dead in the eyes.

"...because you have...all of me!"

That's 'the mega happy ending'. Sorry, no meddling kids, so no 'Scooby Doo ending', but I did make a sad, somber and sweet alternate ending. This part literally continues from the last line.

However, Cynder notices quickly that his paw suddenly has no substance again, and before she can begin to weep his wings wrap around her, darkening the world.

Cynder then wakes up, and though Spyro is not there, a feeling of him remains within. She quickly looks out the window and smiles, seeing his star twinkling where it should be.

The tall thin dragoness strides lightly to the balcony and gently nods her head.

"I will always have you inside," she says to herself, but loud enough that Spyro's spirit can hear her, along with someone she was not expecting.

"Are you OK, Cynder?!"

She is startled to hear this voice, but quickly knows to whom she is speaking, as his overused voice is more familiar than Spyro's. However, she is still shocked to see him hovering before her nose.

"I'm fine, Sparx, but..."she looks around, not seeing his mother or father or the rest of the tiny insects that Spyro called his own. "...why are you here and not with your family?"

Sparx shows her a very hard stare, burning his eyes through hers, like Spyro would when she was being stubborn.

"I am getting tired of telling you this, Cynder..." he remarks with an almost angered tone, before lowering down upon her nose and hugging it tightly. "...you are a part of my family."

A sharp pain shoots through Cynder's chest, and her eyes light up with a powerful twinkle from Spyro's star. She quickly places a soft paw atop her newest little hero, and takes the love he is giving without question.

It is just like what she felt when his brother held her, only a fraction of the size, as Cynder can feel true emotion in the tiny hug she receives.

"Thank you...brother!"

A pain shoots through Sparx's chest, and his embrace becomes even stronger.

"I've missed having a dragon in the family."

Both fly off from the balcony, heading towards the east, and the Mushroom Village that Spyro first came from. Everyone in the city whom witnesses their flight feel a lift in their own spirit, as it is the first time the dark dragoness has left the palace.

A loud cheer rises up from the ground and Cynder's nerves take hold, believing they are hissing at her. However, a tiny dragonfly takes a hold of a single talon on her paw, and pulls the young dragoness straight.

"Easy sis...I got you!" he says, making sure Cynder stays in the air, as it has been a while since she has taken flight. The loud mouth dragonfly then puts his best talent to work, helping her to hear the support from below.

"They love you now, you know that right?" he asks, and slowly Cynder hears some of the voices yelling up, supporting one of the heroes of the world, as most have been told she had done to help Spyro.

"I made sure everyone understood what you did..." he remarks, lifting her paw with all of his might, trying to use just a tenth of the strength of his brother had, and acting as if he is doing it. "...now wave this thing at them, or I will wave it for you."

A smile crosses Cynder's face as a feeling of survival fills her heart for the first time in a year. Her paw rises, lifted by that same magical mist and a twinkling of a star that shines for her. The crowded streets react with a rising amount of cheering and support, lifting her to the heavens, allowing her to hear the voice of the one she loves.

See...you have all of me!

Hope you enjoyed both endings, and if you have another song that could make this a three chapter one shot, by all means, drop me a hint. If not a review would be fine.
