A Tough Rescue
Chapter 2
(In Scott's point a view)
Boy that was a rough rescue for us as a team, I am so glad that Virgil wasn't on his own with this mission. With both Alan and Gordon there it made life easier. I am not saying that I would worry more if both out younger brothers hadn't been there. I know that Virgil is really upset about this whole thing and I don't blame him.
So, I had called Dad just to let him know that Virgil is upset and gave him a run down on what had happened. It got to a point were Gordon had to fly TB2 back because Virgil was in no condition to fly back home. Once I had reported that to Dad, he had told Jo to go down there and meet Virgil. From what Gordon had told me he hadn't spoken much on the way back.
I was still really worried about Virgil so we did the debriefing and waited a couple of hours to see if my brother was going to appear or not. When he didn't appear, we knew it wasn't like him. It had been 24 hours since we last seen Virgil and I knew that he wouldn't be in TB2 this long. So, I asked Dad if I could go and check on him.
It took me a while getting down to TB2's hanger, once I got down there I knew that Virgil would have TB2 locked if he wanted to be alone. Virgil knows if I am worried about him then I will gain access to his bird rather he likes it or not. I don't want to do it because I know that Jo is in there with him.
I really don't know but shouldn't be doing this, so I unlock TB2 and walk into the cockpit to find that both Virgil and Jo are sleeping on the floor in TB2. As I turn to go and leave I say to myself, "Well if you come to me in a months' time to tell me that Jo is expecting than I know what has happened"
