Let me give you the setting of the story if you don't get it already. The story is in modern-day Japan where all the Azur Lane girls have been teleported here, Allied ones and Axis ones. They maintain their ship capabilities and same personalities. However I will not put all the major ships in one story...but expect Belfast, Enterprise, Laffey, Bismarck, and Kaga to play a huge role in the story. Let's talk about what abilities each ship has. Also I won't include ships from the Neptunia Event.
Applies to Everybody
They can equip two pieces of Auxiliary Equipment if they want to.
Each ship keeps their individual skills and abilities and ones that they have in common.
If they have melee weapons or other battle accessories, they can keep them and use them in battle such as Warsprite and her sword.
They have the ability to scan living things that they are looking at and in their radar like other ships or humans. This also includes animals and plants.
Aircraft Carriers: Based off the Game
2-3 kinds of different aircraft such as Tactical Bombers, Fighters, and Dive Bombers that they can use. (AN: However Kaga and Akagi do not follow this.)
They might have a anti-aircraft gun. I haven't decided yet since some ships are different.
They are able to withstand long fights without dying or being critcally injured. (AN: By the way, when a warship dies, they will explode into nothing.)
Destroyers: Based off the Game
1-3 artillery gun(s) that come with normal ammunition or high-explosive ammuntion or armor-piercing ammuntion. They can use all of them at once.
2-4 torpedo tubes that work better under water. However they can shoot them like rockets but it is much slower on land.
1-2 Anti-Aircraft guns able to act as a machine gun.
They are able to withstand short fights without dying or being critically damaged.
Cruisers (Light): Based off the Game
1-2 artillery guns that come with normal ammunition or high-explosive ammuntion or armor-piercing ammuntion. They can use all of them at once.
1-2 torpedo tubes that work better under water. However they can shoot them like rockets but it is much slower on land.
1-2 Anti-Aircraft guns that are able to act as a machine gun.
They are able to withstand short fights without dying or being critically damaged.
Cruisers (Heavy): Based off the Game
2-4 artillery guns that come with normal ammunition or high-explosive ammuntion or armor-piercing ammuntion. They can use all of them at once.
1-2 torpedo tubes that work better under water. However they can shoot them like rockets but it is much slower on land or 1-2 Anti-Aircraft guns that are able to act as a machine gun.
They are able to withstand long fights without dying or being critcally damaged. Some are able to withstand long fights without serious damage or being critically damaged.
Battleships and Battlecruisers: Based off the Game
4-5 artillery guns that come with normal ammunition or high-explosive ammuntion or armor-piercing ammuntion. They can use all of them at once.
1-2 Anti-Aircraft guns that are able to act as a machine gun.
They are able to withstand long fights without serious damage or being critically damaged.
Repair Ships: Based off the Game
1 Repair Toolkit that is manually controlled and shoots out hooks and wires to heal other warships. (AN: There's just going to be Vestal and Akashi)
2 Anti-Aircraft guns that are able to act as a machine gun.
They are able to withstand to withstand short battles without being dying or being critically.
Now that we got that sorted out, enjoy the story. Also happy New Year. I hope that 2019 will be a great year for all of us and the Azur Lane community and game. Seriously, I have no doubt it will grow immensely for all of us this year starting with the fanfictions!
Our First Gamble
"So let me get this straight..." Lance said sitting in the dinner table with Laffey on the other side. "You went to a school so you can be trained in fighting and make friends?"
"Laffey went to a naval base to hone her skills alongside the other warships including the Red Axis ones too. She made friends with many people." Laffey nodded bored.
"That doesn't make sense!" Lance said annoyed banging his fist on the table. "In the war, the Allies fought the Axis powers and won on both fronts. After the war, they created the United Nations to bring peace to conflicts over the world."
"Laffey does not know about the present." Laffey said looking up before leaning forward. "Please teach her about the world." She got a few inches away from Lance's face before he told her to sit down correctly.
"You can read, can you?" Lance asked calming down a little. "I don't need this when I'm going to school here! I'll give this to her instead."
"Laffey can read English." Laffey nodded before Lance stood up then grabbed a World History book from one of his boxes that he did not unpack.
"Here, read this. This is a history book that contains all the information of the past and today of the world." He tossed it to her and it landed near her face. She blinked before picking up the book.
"Scan." she said as a spec-like vision came over her eyes. She then turned the pages of the book very quickly like a flipbook scanning each piece of information about each page Lance. In less than twenty seconds she put the book down with a bored expression. "It is done."
"How!?" he asked shocked almost dropping the phamplet of the school he was going to. "Okay...answer this. What year was the start of the Vietnam War?"
"November 1st 1955." she responded.
"When did the Soviet Union collapse and why?"
"December 31th 1991 because the USSR's grasp in Europe and Asia has fallen over time. It's economy was unstable and suffered greatly, leading to it failing."
"What was America's greatest mistake?" Lance smirked. "I wonder if she knows the failures of our country." She paused before responding remorseful.
"Taking the land unfairly..." she said seriously. "It was wrong of us to take the land from the Indians and drive them off. We should have shared it equally."
"That wasn't on the book, wasn't it..." Lance said with giving her a head pat. "Good job for realizing it. I guess you are pretty smart for a robot."
"Laffey is a destroyer not a robot..." she reminded but did not move from the headpat. "Do you have any Oxy-Cola?"
"Pardon me?" Lance asked unsure.
"Laffey once in a while drinks Oxy-Cola or she falls asleep all the time." she told him with sleepy eyes. "It also tastes good."
"I see. So that's why you are so sleepy, because you need to drink caffeine." Lance assumed. "I don't have any cola...I'm afraid. I can get some tommorow though." Laffey deadpanned before looking at a case of sake Lance has nearby. She stood up before picking one bottle up.
"Then Laffey will drink this..." she declared opening the top. Lance rushed to stop her then grabbed the bottle from her.
"This is not for kids! I wanted to try it though." he told her. "It's called sake. And I don't want you to start drinking it even if you are what you say." He was ignored when Laffey grabbed another bottle then opened it. Lance took that one away too.
"Then what will Laffey drink instead?" she asked.
"Not any alcohol, that's for certain!" he told her before grabbing the case of sake then placed it on top of a refrigerator. "Can you last one day?"
"Laffey feels her energy levels are depletting..." Laffey moaned out falling to the sofa to rest.
"Okay, let's go get some." Lance surrendered a bit peeved. Laffey stood up to follow him to the front door before they exited it out. Little did they know, a light-brown haired girl with purple eyes was peering at their window staring at them.
Eventually the two reached the busy marketplace where everyone was out buying and selling a variety of things from seafood to mangas. Everyone gave Laffey and Lance some strange looks but did not think too much about thinking the girl was trying to cosplay somebody. Lance led Laffey to a convienience store into the city.
Lance grabbed a six-pack of Coca-Cola in the refrigerator of the shop before taking a bag of potato chips for himself. He headed to the register before he bumped into a bespectacled purple-haired woman who was carrying some magazines.
"Sorry, miss." he apologized before he realized she wasn't getting up. "Are you alright?"
"No, I'm not alright. You dropped my yaoi doujins..." the woman said from the floor frowning. Lance looked on the floor to see almost naked men on the covers of the magazines. He turned red before helping the woman up. He could clearly see that she had black eyes.
"I'm sorry about that." Lance said as the woman picked up the doujins looking over them before placing them on a shelf. "You work here?"
"I work here part-time." she explained. "However, I like reading the yaoi here when I'm in break." She gave Lance a quick lookover before asking a question. "You did not come here for yaoi, did you?"
"Of course not!" Lance defended. "I just wanted to get some snacks."
"Right. Well, I am the cashier while the boss is gone." she said walking behind the table with the cash register. Lance sighed before walking to pay for his stuff seeing Laffey fiddle around with a Hatsume Miku plush toy that was hanging in a corner of the store.
"That will be 500 yen." the girl asked. Lance gave her the money as she processed the check. He noticed a phamplet of Nichibotsu Institute, the same university he was going to.
:"You're going to the institute?" he asked pointing to the paper. She looked at it before responding with a nod.
"Mhmm. I got accepted there quite easily." the cashier told him grabbing a pocky stick and placing it in her mouth. "And how do you know about it?"
"I'm going there too. But I am studying abroad..." Lance explained. The girl gave him a confused look before looking down.
"I see...well maybe we'll meet there soon." she said chewing another stick in her mouth. "What are you planning in majoring in?"
"Oh, I came with a group of students to study biology. I am planning to be a health counselor...it kind of sounds embarrassing when I talk about it out loud."
"No, its fine. At the very least your helping people with their conditions and wellbeing." the cashier told him. "Since you told yours, I'm planning to be to a doujinshi artist."
"A hentai artist..." Lance thought shuddering all of a sudden. "W-why w-would you want to do that..."
"I like drawing men...who are in various positions..." she trailed off. A few seconds later, she grabbed another stick and bit it. "Sticking their di-" she paused when Lance stood up with a flushed expression.
"Well thanks for sharing that. Maybe we'll have a class in common." he excused himself. "I'll see you soon, I guess." Lance turned to Laffey before they went out who was reaching towards a beer case on a shelf. "Come on let's go." Laffey tried jumping to grab it but failed due to her height. She gave up sighing and walked out of the store with Lance as the cashier looked back at them.
"They are strange for a pair..." she said before grabbing a yaoi magazine and started reading it while taking out another pocky stick.
...
"Alright, drink up." Lance said passing her a drink as the two were walking in a empty street back home. Laffey grabbed the can before guzzling the whole thing down. "Hey go easy, you can choke if you're not careful!" As he said this, Laffey spat out what little was in her mouth.
"This does not taste like Oxy-Cola." she told him before throwing the can on the ground.
"Hey! I don't even know what it is you want exactly!" Lance argued back. "I just got you Coca-Cola. Clearly that existed during the war!"
"It did but Laffey prefers Oxy-Cola since it has a better taste." Laffey explained.
"Then you are just going to have to bear it but when we get home we'll settle where you are going to stay." They started to walk more forward once more when a artillery shell exploded right in front of them.
"You will take one more step, and I will blast the both of you out of the ground." a girlish voice called out. Lance and Laffey looked up towards one of the roofs of the houses on top of them was a light-brown haired girl with purple eyes staring down at them fiercely with a artillery gun looking like a shark aimed at them. She wore a German uniform with silver buttons and a Iron Cross medal on it. She also wore black tights and a black beret.
"Z23!" Laffey shouted shocked.
"I came for you Laffey on orders to exterminate you!" Z23 revealed. "Don't try to resist!" she sighed before pulling out a anti-aircraft gun and torpedo tubes from her back.
"But Laffey thought we were friends!" Laffey exclaimed confused.
"Times have changed!" Z23 shouted firing a artillery shell at the two of them. Laffey dived to protect Lance before the shell hit them blowing up part of the the floor they were standing on a second ago.
"Don't tell me she is one of your enemies!?" Lance demanded as Z23 let out a battle cry before jumping down on the floor.
"She was one of Laffey's friends in school. I do not know why she is doing this!" Laffey explained pulling out her anti-aircraft gun blasting lead towards the German ship. Z23 tried to avoid them by hiding behind a trash bin that was next to the wall but got hit by a few bullets.
"Crap!" Z23 cursed feeling the pain. She shot a barrage of torpedoes against Laffey who got hit by one of them knocking her to the ground. Lance did not know anything else but to throw a rock at Z23.
"Ow!" she said annoyed. "What the hell is a puny human going to do against me?!" She pointed her artillery at Lance before Laffey got up and shot a artillery shell at her face dropping her to the ground. "Wuhh..."
"Commander Lance, we must leave!" Laffey pleaded before Lance walked up to Z23 and pulled her up by her hair.
"Oww! Oww! Oww!" Z23 cried out in pain unable to do anything at her state.
"Let me guess. You are a evil nazi loli, huh?" Lance asked getting more pissed off as Z23 struggled in Lance's grasp.
"Let go of me, you dunce!" she resisted. "You have no idea who you are dealing with!"
"Why did you try to assasinate Laffey, evil nazi girl?"
"That's none of your bussiness, you human! Now let me go!" Z23 shouted before Laffey walked towards the both of them.
"Z23-san..." she called out looking at the German ship directly in the eyes, angry ones to sleepy ones. "I thought the four of us were friends." Z23 looked the other way with tears growing in her eyes.
"She forced me to find all allied ships...and take them out for good." she responded. "I didn't want to disobey..."
"Who is "she"?" Lance asked as a dark figure overtook them before Z23 can say anything else.
"Vielen dank that I found one of my comrades and one of my enemies." a white-haired and amber-eyed young woman said with a teasing smile. She wore a black and red German uniform with the Iron Cross all over. She also wore a metal red headpiece and a few strands of red hair. Behind her back was three jaw-like artillery guns aimed to where they were. "Z23, I thought we were not suppose to give intel to our old friends."
"Prinz Eugen!" Z23 exclaimed shocked. "I was defeated by-" she was interrupted.
"I heard the whole thing, but that won't stop me from doing what I am going to do." she shot two artillery shells towards them. Laffey went to trying to defend them but was surprised when she felt nothing hit her. "Blanks?"
"Listen, Laffey since you haven't heard just yet but we are now on opposing sides once more." Prinz Eugen said from behind her pointing a anti-aircraft gun at Lance's head. "The Sirens are gone here, so we decided to that we should fight once more to settle our dispute. There can only be one of us in this new world."
"Why!?" Laffey demanded very confused with tears of her own.
"We can only settle such things with war. To settle our differences at once. We will purge all of you from the Earth. This is the will of the Red Axis." Laffey was shaken by this revelation but pulled out her artillery gun as sirens from police came closer.
"Scheisse. We'll do battle another time. Take care of yourself okay, Laffey? You can have your "commander" back." she said just as Z23 was able to get out of Lance's grasp. The two walked away into the darkness as our duo looked back at them.
"Was that a declaration of war..." Lance trailed off seeing Laffey's reaction. She looked at Z23 with a distraut look of her own feeling betrayed. Her mouth was wide open as well as her eyes no longer sleepy as they usually were.
"Are we no longer friends?" Laffey asked herself as rain started to fall upon them.
"Come on, let's go home." Lance said taking her hand with his own as the two started to walk away from the destroyed land. They were close to the apartment building when Laffey stopped in her tracks.
"Commander Lance..." she said before sneezing heavily. "Something's not right..." She sneezed again more harder.
"You must have gotten sick...go ahead inside and take a shower." Lance thought as he reached their door. He opened it and let Laffey go in first before entering himself. "I didn't even know a warship could get sick."
However it went unnoticed the sound of a trashcan being digged from by a green-haired girl with yellow eyes. The most interesting thing about her was two cat ears on her head and a crane on her back. She also had many tools on her hands such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
"Seems like I found some new customers, Nyaa~." Akashi purred seeing the two enter the apartment as she spotted Laffey. "Then maybe Akashi won't need to eat out of garbage cans." she pulled out half-eaten fish from the trash she opened.
"I think its best if I sell my wares now, Nyaa~, I am starving..." she trailed off.

"Prince of Wales, the Ironbloods made their move in this new world." a white-haired woman wearing a maid's outfit told a regally-dressed blonde who was sitting in a round table alone drinking tea. They were in a mansion that the blonde bought in the UK that costed 6,950,000 pounds. How the hell they bought it, I don't know.
"Where exactly?" she asked placing down her cup.
"They struck some of our girls here and as well as in Africa...I'm afraid we don't have all of them accounted for." the maid bowed down in submission. "Forgive me."
"It is not your fault, Belfast...if anything I blame time and space for even bringing us to this new modernized world." the blonde told her before standing up. "However maybe with this new life, we can find Hood and the others alive. We shall stand as allies against the Crimson Axis once more."
"I always enjoy your hopeful words, Prince of Wales..." the maid complimented with a smile. "I'll contact Enterprise as soon as possible. Do not worry yourself of such things."

Back in Nagasaki, in a comfy estate away from the big city sat a brown-haired woman with fox ears and red-eyes layed in the balcony protected from the rain. She wore a red and black kimono and a red skirt. Her nine tails from behind her swayed left and right like a pendulum.
"Sister." another woman's voice called from inside.
"Hmm?" the red-eyed woman asked looking to her sister. She had a similar look to her but had blue-eyes and white-hair as well as in her tails. She also had a kitsune mask on the side of her head, a white kimono, and a blue skirt.
"We have a guest." she told her.
"Who is it? Could it be one of the man's friends that we killed to get this place?" she asked pointing to the trash outside that had two garbage bags that had two bodies in them. They had snuck into a business man's home who was smuggling opium tablets into Nagasaki. They snapped his neck as well as his fiance that stepped in.
"No. It's Bismarck." the blue-eyed woman told her with a concerned look as she peeked through the peekhole. She looked to her sister who nodded entering the foyer with a concerned look of her own.
"Let her in." the blue-eyed woman opened the door to reveal a blonde-haired and blue-eyed woman wearing a German uniform that went to her thighs and a black hat with a eagle insignia and a RAF roundel on it. She also wore long black stockings with white fur on the top of them. (AN: Bismarck's hat is exactly like the one worn by Hitler. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me.)
"It looks like my radar has led me to the right place after all." Bismarck said with a serious face. "Akagi and Kaga, can I talk with you?"
"What do you want?" Akagi asked irritated already.
"For the Allies to fall this time." Bismarck told them grabbing their interest immediantly. "By now, I'm sure you have heard the news of our defeat in the war. I come to tell you to take it back." Akagi lunged out at Bismarck about hearing the word "defeat". Indeed in their time scouting the house, they have discovered what happened in the past.
"What are you talking about?" Kaga asked holding her sister back.
"That the Ironbloods and Sakura Empire should reunite once more." Bismarck told them. "Since the Sirens do not exist in this world, we can take it for ourselves. There can only be one of our kind in this world. To end this once for all."
"Why should we kill one another for the war that has already ended?" Kaga asked before Akagi could answer.
"Because only with great power can we truly save humanity from itself. However, if we allow Azur Lane to control this new technology they will become the new leaders of this world. Our countries might have lost the war but we can continue." Bismarck said with a smirk. "Death or dishonor, ladies."
"Then let us be Crimson Axis once more." Akagi said with a smile. "I refuse to let Enterprise or any of those damn American ships get the best of me."
"Akagi...sister." Kaga called a little confused causing her hot-blooded sister to look at her.
"Kaga...I refuse to ignore the past but we can't dishonor the country." Akagi said. "It goes against our being as the Sakura Empire." Kaga seemed hesitant at first before her eyes became absolute.
"I'm with you all the way, sister." she clutched Kaga's hand in trust.
And I'm tired. Welp, I hope you guys reading this can understand all of it. Really I just put the things on top to remind me later for the other ships that will come later in the story. Everything seems to be setting up, factions are getting back together, Lance will go to school soon, and everyone is settled for another war but this time on land as well as water. Thanks for reading guys. Until next time.
