I didn't take long for Lightning to reach the Sunleth Waterscape. She had been there before, after all. The book Lightning rented from the library stated that the Angel Gate lies somewhere in the preserved area of Cocoon. She looked around and took in a deep breath. So much had happened recently, and this may be her last few breaths on this world. After pondering life for a few minutes, Lightning began her search. She didn't know exactly where to look, she just had to explore every inch of the Sunleth Waterscape and hope that she stumbled upon the Gate. The monsters had been removed from the reserve. All that lives here now are harmless animals and vegetation; Lightning still brought her Gunblade as a precaution.

Lightning wandered and wandered for hours. This place wasn't that big, how could this be taking so long? Just as she was losing hope, she came across the most majestic waterfall she had ever seen. There was a stone cliff that the water was tumbling over, landing into a circular pool of water. Around the pool were many different coloured flowers, and to Lightning's surprise, there was a girl kneeling near them. Lightning never thought she would see anyone else here, she was granted access here by the Academy, thanks to Hope, and he had said that no one else would be there. The girl began to pick a red flower and smell it. Lightning, suspecting this lady was an enemy, drew her blade, and caught the girl's attention. "Oh." Is all the girl said as she stood, still holding the red flower. Lightning, still suspicious, glared at the girl. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" Lightning asked sternly. The girl smiled and walked closer to Lightning. "My name is Vanille."
