Notes: Sorry guys, I know you're waiting on that second part of Moonlight. Until I'm satisfied with the results, all I can do is some short prompts. Not all of them are NSFW, but I hope it will help fill the hole at least a little!

Aelin considered herself a damned good actress. She had spent years hiding her true name from the world, acting as a bloodthirsty and vicious assassin named Celaena Sardothien. Acting had become as natural as breathing, and sometimes even found delight in tricking others with her skills.

But by the Wyrd, it was so hard to act calm around Rowan Whitethorn. On the way to Terrasen, Aelin had somehow kept it together, even as she was held in the warmth of his arms every night. She swallowed the words she desperately wanted to say, not wanting to know how the immortal Fae would react. And so worry would eat away at her, even as her heart soared every time they touched. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep this up until the secret exploded within her.

Because Aelin was most definitely in love with Rowan.

It was different from the love she still felt for Sam, but just as powerful. Sam's love was like a ocean after the storm, calm and without an end in sight. Comforting. The love she felt for Rowan was that of the sky, full of amazement and wonder, and once again without an end in sight but clear.

Aelin would normally have no problems in telling him, as he knew everything about her anyways, but this was one secret that directly affected him. She knew he at least found her attractive, enough to want to be very, very intimate with her, but the two had never exchanged any sort of formal emotions. The possibility he liked her was very high, but Aelin knew that he was still healing from the last time he loved a person. She would never ask him or push him to do things he was not comfortable with, but… Aelin was still afraid he would push her away if he found out the depth of her emotions for him.

It was obvious that she was hiding something and it bothered Rowan. He would never push her too far, though every time he was just one question away from finding out the truth begging to escape.

And escape it did, one night when Aelin had had a little too much to drink after a long and stressful weak. Aelin and Rowan were curled on their bed, passing the bottle of potent Fae liquor between them and slowly growing more and more drunk.

She sighed, tucking her head underneath Rowan's jaw as he took a swig from the large bottle. Rowan took notice of the sigh and wiped some of the drink from his lips, "Whatever is the matter, Fireheart?"

Severely impaired and just slightly without her normal filter, Aelin merely sighed again and answered in a matter of fact tone, "I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified." Her head cleared for a moment as she realized what she had said, and froze against the warm Fae body, terror seizing her.

Rowan was quiet for a moment, then took another long swallow of the liquor, "You shouldn't fall for someone like me."

"I didn't have much of a choice, you ass," Aelin growled, but there was no bite to it, too far gone to be properly threatening. She yanked the Fae liquor from his hands, taking an equally large swallow of it.

"Hm," Rowan pondered, then sighed. "Well, I guess we are two drunken fools in love."

Aelin sat up then, looking into his eyes to see if he was lying and when seeing that he was sincere slapping his arm, "You had me worried there, birdbrain." As the drunken haze clouded over her mind again, she gave a curious look at the bottle, "What exactly is this again?"

"Absinthe," he replied with an easy but warm smile, pulling Aelin back against him. "It was said to cause hallucinations. But I would like to believe this is not a hallucination, my love."

Grinning at the challenge, Aelin tipped her head so that she was almost kissing the Fae warrior, "I'll just have to show you it isn't then."

"Oh, please do," Rowan purred, before kissing her.
