A/N: First off, I wanna give a quick shout out to A-chan. (If I find any accounts for them that you can check them out at I will update this later.) Back in 2013, when this chapter was first written, they were my beta reader. It's thanks to them that this chapter got a bit of a major overhaul and expanded in some parts.

Second, there is a paragraph that I need to label with a trigger warning for suicide. It is just thinking about it but I think that will still be enough for the warning. The paragraph in question starts as "She clutched her legs tighter..." and the warning should be done by the end of the paragraph. (I wasn't for sure of a good way to point this out without interrupting the flow of the chapter, I'm sorry.)

I also know towards the end of the chapter, after the flashback, I don't say when Tanya signs to Uta as often. This may become a recurring theme in later chapters but I felt it redundant. So usually if Tanya is speaking to the two of them, she signs along so that Uta can still understand even if I don't type it out.

"Pretty Cure Charge Cannon!"

Tanya had no choice but to close her eyes from the resulting flash of the attack. She reopened her eyes and struggled to push herself up by her arms. "Wow…" was all she could say. Her eyes looked up to Milo and Uta, who were still currently Cure Negative and Cure Positive.

With her eyes glaring down at Tanya, Negative crossed her arms. "It's time to explain."

(OPENING: Let's Spark the World! Pretty Cure Static by Mayu Kudou

Milo and Uta both bound down the stairs and run into Tanya, accidently knocking all three down. They all chuckle.

TITLE CARD: "Time for an Explanation! The Situation from Tanya")

"Come on, spit it out." From her body posture to the tapping of her foot, Tanya could clearly see that Negative was growing impatient.

Positive, on the other hand, seemed to be a bit more calmer despite probably wanting an explanation as soon as the other one wanted it. With a sigh, she tried to put her hand on Negative's shoulder as she told the purple-clad girl, "Let's not threaten her please?"

"I can if I want!"

"Negative…"

Once she felt well enough and not as sore as before, but still pretty sore overall, Tanya was able to push herself off the ground and get back up. She tried to dust herself off but she saw no success in sight with her uniform still fairly dusty in places. "I will explain, there's no need to threaten me. But we will have to do that later. It's a fairly long story and lunch is almost over. I don't think any of us want to miss a class on the first day of school." Her stomach faintly growled, to which the three of them glanced at it but no one acknowledged it.

Negative growled at Tanya's statement. She was right, yes, but it didn't mean that she was that patient. She was going to stand between Tanya and the classrooms with whatever super strength she was just given no matter what if it was going to give them an explanation this very minute. However, Positive put her hand on Negative's shoulder again and shook her head no.

"B-But I really need to know what the heck just happened!"

"You heard what she said. We can talk about it later. You can wait a few hours, right?"

With a loud sigh, Negative knew she was defeated. "Okay fine! Well, before you leave tell us how we can return to normal. We can't go back to class in these...These costumes."

"It's really simple," Tanya started as she pushed her glasses up. "Just think about changing back. That's all."

The two did as Tanya said. With a simple thought and a light, the two were back to being Milo and Uta respectively. The looked at each other, still mildly confused. There were too many questions to ask: What is Pretty Cure? Why did they transform into those costumes? What was that monster? Why was Tanya doing this?

The two were snapped out of their thoughts with a call from Tanya for Milo and a shake on the shoulder and signing for Uta. "Did you two hear me? Let's go."

As the two picked up their bentos, their stomachs started to growl in unison with Tanya's. With another groan, Milo yelled, "Are you kidding me!? We really missed lunch period for this!"

"Congratulations. Welcome to being a hero on an almost daily basis," Tanya deadpanned in response as she flicked the brunette's forehead to get her to move faster.

Within the circuits of the Digital World, the was an area that wasn't up to any good. The room was dark and hard to see in at this point. Of course, it didn't seem that way to its residents. Two grunts were sounded and echoed throughout the space.

"Bug!" boomed a deep male voice. "Tell us what happened here!? We sent you to destroy that Pretty Cure! Instead, not only are they still a little pests but they also gained two more cockroaches in their ranks!"

A female's mature voice spoke next. "We can't let this go on! We need to find a way to revive him quick. Otherwise-"

"I know, I know," replied another male's voice. This one was vastly different from the first one, sounding like it was breaking in spots. "I didn't use my full power this time. I thought they were weak enough that I didn't have to. But I was proven wrong...Next time I won't hold back as much. I will defeat them!"

"You better," intertwined the first male and female's voice.

Milo laid against the wall next to the door of Tanya's classroom. If her patience was thin before the end of lunch period, it definitely was just a very fine string now. At least catching up on the lunch she missed out on as she waited kept her calm, if only barely. Once she finished her bento the to the classroom opened suddenly. Milo was about to blow up in the person's face. But that plan changed when she saw that the person exiting the room wasn't Tanya but her sister. Milo quickly shut her mouth.

Shula just arched an eyebrow at her sister. The look on Milo's face just confused her and made her wonder just exactly what her little sister was doing. And a middle schooler coming down to a high schooler's classroom for no apparent reason didn't help matters. "Uh...Okay, I give up. Why are you here Milo?" Shula crossed her arms and gave a stern look to her sister. "Do you know how weird it is for your middle school sister to be hanging around high school classroom?"

"Yeah, I know, I know." Milo rolled her eyes. Her sister always seemed to be the one to care about self image and of course this would be no exception. She never got the big reason that her sister was like that but she learned that it didn't matter what others thought of her. "Is Tanya in? I need to speak with her."

With a sigh, Shula's confused look gave way to a face that showed defeat. This was where she gave up on making sense of her sister. She should have learned by now that no matter what reason Milo had for doing something she wouldn't give up. "She's in there," she finally replied as she pointed into the classroom.

Before Milo could walk in, she felt something poked her shoulder. Turning around resulted in Milo seeing an Uta that seemed a bit annoyed or miffed. Those puffed cheeks the deaf girl was giving looked a bit cute but this was the wrong moment to think that. She tried to be forceful but failed as she gave the brunette her notepad.

What's the big deal? You left without me after the bell rang!

Milo chuckled and scratched the back of her head in embarrassment before taking the notepad from Uta. After scribbling something quickly down on the pad she gave it back to its owner. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I wanted to meet up with Tanya before she left and I just sorta forgot.

Uta sighed, giving up on Milo's actions. This was something she supposed she had to live with now. Before she could do or write anything else, Milo pulled Uta into the classroom with her. The two walked across the room to the desk where Tanya was sitting at. The girl was putting her books in her bag while not noticing anything that happened around her. It wasn't until Milo cleared her throat that Tanya looked up at the two. Yuske kept an ear on the conversation, watching out of what little area he could see in the corner of the bag.

Glaring at the two, more than likely maybe just at Milo and her temper as Uta had done nothing wrong at this point, Tanya made it clear she was a little annoyed. "What do you want now?" she asked with a sigh.

Milo slammed her hands on the desk in front of her. Her face showed that the fine string she was dancing on broke and she just became pissed. "What's that tone for!? Did you seriously forget your promise?" Taking a deep breath to attempt to calm down, even a little bit, Milo stood up again and took her hands off the desk. "Now, start telling the story."

Tanya signed what conversation Milo and her had to Uta. Once she could see the girl caught up she then signed, [Your friend is impatient, isn't she?]

Uta shrugged and replied, [Don't ask me. I've only known her for a day.]

"Okay, what are you two signing about!? Come on, tell me." Milo looked back and forth between the two girls by her. Uta obviously couldn't understand what she asked. Tanya, on the other hand, got up and walked away from Milo without looking back at her and didn't sign what she just asked to Uta. This made Milo shout out once again, making Uta kind of glad she couldn't hear anything at the moment. "TANYA! You still owe us an explanation!" The blonde stopped for a moment as Milo crossed her arms and glared at her. "Hmph. You aren't all my sister make you out to be. You know that? I thought you were nice, but I guess you are-"

Milo's train of thought was suddenly interrupted. Tanya came back and covered the brunette's mouth with her hand. "You are too loud, you know that?" She turned back to the door while keeping her gaze on the other two. "I said I would give you an explanation, but I didn't mean in a public place like here. I thought that was obvious. We're going to my house."

Uta nodded as the blonde started to walk away again. Before following herself she looked at Milo, who was currently grinding her teeth of out anger.

Balancing the plate of cookies in one hand, Tanya tried to shut her bedroom door with as little noise as possible when she entered the room. "I'm back. There, eat up and settle in," she told the two girls as she sat the tray down. Yuske, currently on her bed, jumped off and joined the group as he begged Tanya for a cookie. Tanya lightly chuckled as she obliged and tore a cookie in half for her and the creature. "It is a very long story. Now, where should I begin?"

"Hmm? What do you mean it's a long story?" Milo was probably on her fifth cookie already and reaching for her sixth one as Uta was on her second or third.

"If I remember correctly, it started about two years ago," Yuske spoke up as he finished his half of the cookie. "Yeah, that was about when you moved to Dendou town, right Tanya?"

The blonde nodded in reply before she opened her mouth again, along with starting to sign.

"Dad! I don't want to move." The soft, uncertain voice came out of fifteen-year-old blonde's voice. Tanya was standing in the living room, still trying to process the news she gotten when she got home from school. Packed boxes were scattered all around. Tanya was on the verge of just breaking down there but she was trying to fight it back all that she could.

"Why? What's wrong with moving honey?" Kyle Hurns, an older man with well kept, sandy blonde hair and a beard, walked out of the kitchen to join his daughter. Springing the news that they were moving in two weeks wasn't the best idea but there was very little time they had before they had to move and he didn't want to put it off. Putting down one of the boxes he brought to go through and see what they need and what they didn't, he walked over to Tanya. Looking his daughter in the face, he asked, "Is this because we're moving to a whole new country? I know Japan is vastly different from America but with how smart you are I'm sure you'll be fine."

"It's not that!" Noticing her shout sort of upset her father, Tanya took a moment to regather her thoughts and lower her voice. "I'm not worried about that. I'm...I'm just worried about Mom's grave. Who is going to take care of it after we leave. Plus I'm used to my friends here, the school here. I don't want to worry about making new friends at a new place."

Kyle hugged his daughter as she burst out in tears. Despite being so mature for as young as she was, he knew she was so attached to this place that Tanya couldn't help but cry. She missed her mother so much and refused to be so far from her grave. Being her only parent, Kyle was trying to comfort her and rub her back. "I'm really am sorry honey. I don't have a choice, my job is making us move. There is a new office opening in Dendou Town and they want me to work there. Apparently, I'm one of their best coders and they think it is for the best of the company if I was transferred there."

The next few weeks for Tanya was a very somber one. Every moment she had free time in school she just did her paperwork so that when she moved her files were transferred with no problem. Every night she and her dad learned Japanese together. There were a few nights it was just her home as her dad worked late hours to prepare to move offices. This was when she learned Japanese sign language by herself. She already knew American sign language from a young age, learning it thinking that it would be some help in the future. But she didn't know that Japan was different with how their sign language worked until she started researching it. She felt like it was for her benefit to start learning it along with everything else.

Giving the news to her friends was as hard for her as it was for them. While they all understood it wasn't without tears. They all gave their good-byes and little presents within the last few days, hoping they wouldn't be forgotten. But the hardest blow for Tanya came the Friday evening before they left. After school she decided to go to her mom's grave one last time by herself. Her father was doing another late shift so she didn't want to bother him.

Just thinking this was her last time here for a while, the last time she would actually feel like she would be near her mother, Tanya curled up beside her mother's grave and broke down in tears even though she swore she ran dry with all of the good-byes. A soft, broken whisper came out underneath those tears. "Mom...Help me...I'm scared…"

The next few days flew by and the next thing Tanya knew she was on a plane to Japan.

It has been a good fifteen minutes or so since she came into the office, waiting to be taken to her first class at Dendou High. Finally her wait was over as she saw a light-haired brunette female enter the door. "Tanya Hurns?" she asked calmly. After getting a nod from Tanya the female continued on. "Hi! Welcome to Dendou Town and our high school. It's nice to meet you! I'm Shula Arushi." The girl, Shula, held out her hand and smiled. "Come on. I'll show you to our class."

Tanya nodded and grabbed Shula's hand. It easily showed on her face that she was scared, whether she wanted it to or not. Here she was as an impressionable young teenager in a new school, in a new country even, where she knew no one. But Shula kept pushing her along. She walked Tanya to the classroom and had her wait outside for the teacher as she went in to her desk.

A few seconds after the bell rang to start the day, a teacher walked to the classroom Tanya was standing by. "Ms. Hurns? It's nice to meet you. I am your homeroom teacher, Ayano Fujimoto. Welcome to Dendou Town."

Giving a quick but scared bow to her teacher, Tanya replied, "It's nice to meet you too! And yes, I'm Ms. Hurns." Her Japanese was still a bit sloppy she noticed, probably from how nervous she was despite all of her learning, but it was decent enough that she saw that her teacher understood her.

Putting a hand on Tanya's shoulder, Mrs. Fujimoto tried to reassure her new student. "You're nervous aren't you? It's understandable with your situation. But I'm sure you'll be fine. Breathe."

Mrs. Fujimoto allowed a few seconds for Tanya to collect her thoughts. One breath in, one breath out. Tanya's whole posture and breathing changed if only just a little. Well, it was a start at least. "All right. Let's introduce you to your new class. Shall we?" With a smile, she took Tanya's hand and pulled her into the classroom.

"Good morning everyone! Before we start homeroom, we have a new student to introduce to you today." Mrs. Fujimoto put down her books she was carrying at her desk before continuing on and presenting Tanya. "I know it's an odd time to transfer in the semester. But Ms. Tanya Hurns comes to us all the way from overseas, from a country you all should recognize as America. Her father was transferred to an office in Dendou Town. Please make sure to make her feel welcome, okay?"

The class resounded with a "Yeah!" mixed between excitement of having a new student and boredom of having another spheal from the teacher. Either way, Tanya smiled at her new classmates. She felt a bit better now. There were new people that she could meet, that she could get to know. Everything was going to be okay, right?

As she looked around the room for an empty seat after Mrs. Fujimoto prompted her to do so, she saw Shula frantically waving at her and trying to get her attention. The girl was pointing to the desk next to her. An empty seat so that Tanya could sit by her.

Tanya walked over to the seat with no hesitation. Giving a smile to her new neighbor, she started to put her supplies in her desk as the teacher took roll call.

Everyone in Tanya's class was either super friendly or didn't want anything to do with her. Either way she was fine with it. She started to answer questions about the move and the differences between the two countries. Her day went on fine until lunch time.

The bell rang and everyone started to gather in their normal little lunch time groups. Tanya felt awkward being a new student and trying to enter one of these groups. Giving up on doing so, she turned to Shula and asked the girl, "Would you like to eat lunch with me?"

"I'm so sorry Tanya. I would love to. But since we don't have practice, the Cheerleading Squad needs to use lunch for a minor meeting to discuss plans." Shula looked a bit down, even bordering on pouting. But sports and clubs came first during lunch. Getting up and grabbing her bento, she looked at the girl and tried to put a small smile on her face. "I promise, next time I will join you. I have to make you try some of my mom's snacks. They are amazing!" Once she saw Tanya smile back and nod in approval, Shula gave a wave to the girl as she left the classroom. "I'll see you after lunch!"

Tanya waved back with a melancholy smile. Once Shula was gone, she let the facade drop a bit into a disappointed face. Sure, it would have been great that the first friend she made at her new school could eat lunch with her on her first day. But even she knew that she couldn't change her schedule suddenly for a new person. Grabbing her bento herself and a book to keep herself entertained, it was time for Tanya to find a place to eat lunch.

Kyle looked up from the newspaper he was reading as he heard the door open and close. From where he could see as he sat on the couch and turned his head, he could see his daughter take off her shoes. He couldn't tell but was that a somber look on her face? "Hey honey, welcome back. How was your first day of school? Is something wrong?"

Tanya turned her face away so that her father couldn't see it. She really didn't want to look weak right now. Trying to keep her voice sounding like she was positive, she replied, "No. I'm fine, the first day was great. I'll be in my room until supper." Without another glance to her father, Tanya ran up to her room. She quickly shut and locked her door before throwing her bag towards her bed, missing it by a large margin, and sliding her back down against the door.

Curling up into a ball, Tanya started to cry. As much as she tried and even with her new friend, she didn't handle the distance between and her old classmates too well. It didn't help that during her lunch period some male third-year students decided to haze her and throw her book in the toilet, putting her down not only because she was a Freshman again due to the different grade system between countries but also because she was not Japanese. She fished out the book almost immediately but threw it away as soon as she got it back. It was definitely ruined at that point.

She clutched her legs tighter, silently wishing that her life would end right there, right now. Her father would be devastated but would she be able to go on? She could just grab a knife from downstairs and stab it right through her heart or any other vital artery. Or, she could always just open her window and jump out. Maybe that would be less painful?

Noticing a beeping sound, Tanya poked her head up and tried to dry up her tears and sniffling. Eventually, she concluded that the beeping noise came from her computer. Her only question was how did it turn on? She knew she turned it off this morning before she left. She had a really good memory. And of course Tanya didn't turn it on when she got home. There was no reason for her father to get on it either, so it wasn't him.

Tanya got up off the ground and walked over to turn it off. That was the plan until a weird, distorted voice came through the speakers. It was faint but it was there saying, "Please...Help me…"

Her finger hovered over the power button on her tower. It was only for a second but it gave the voice just enough time. As her screen started glowing, Tanya had no choice but to cover her face from how bright it was. The glow disappeared and Tanya was able to see a creature fall right out of her computer screen onto the chair, panting.

"I...Made it...I'm...Safe," the creature managed to say between breaths.

Tanya was just confused at what this creature in front of her could be. She never saw anything quite like it before. Sure, it looked like a house cat, which would have been perfectly normal. Except the fur made it more look like a tiger. Either way, it's fur was definitely not normal. Plus she swore she heard it talk! What kind of animal talks!?

"Who-who-who-what are you!?" Tanya fell back from the computer in her surprise and disbelief at the situation laid out in front of her.

The cat-like creature shook himself off before turning to Tanya. He saw that he now had an audience and silently gasped. "You're the one who kept their computer on for me, aren't you? Thank you so much ma'am." The creature bowed as best as it could on four legs to Tanya before continuing. "I promise I will tell you everything. But before I do, I would advise you to sit yourself in a more comfortable position. It's for your own benefit."

Tanya gave the creature a quick nod as a reply. Then, she got up and sat herself on her bed, sitting cross legged. The creature followed her almost immediately. He climbed on the bed and sat across from her.

"Hm...How should I start…" he murmured as he was deep in thought. He used a paw to scratch at his head. When his eyes lit up with a realization, he said, "Maybe I should start with an introduction. It's nice to meet you. My name is Yuske and I come from the Digital World. This is also known more commonly to you humans as a network or the internet. But I promise you there is more life then you would have thought in it, even if everyone is so scattered."

Yuske pawed the bedsheets for a moment before he decided to continue, silence falling on him as he tried to gather his thoughts. "You know...I know there was a reason I ran away. I know that world is important to me. But I don't know why I can't remember. I…I think I lost my memories when I crossed over to your world. I'm sorry...Miss?"

"Tanya. My name is Tanya." She bowed slightly towards Yuske, more out of respect and the customs she learned about Japan. Tanya hovered her hand over Yuske for a moment. The creature knew what she was doing but made no move to stop her. After gaining approval from Yuske, Tanya started petting the creature's head. Almost immediately he started purring at the touch. More and more Yuske seemed to be like a normal house pet, just able to talk on top of it.

They were lost in petting and being pet for a few minutes. Until Tanya realized that nothing was getting accomplished and stopped petting Yuske. "Anyways…" she started as she cleared out her throat. "It's fine if you don't remember. We can just take the time and if you regain your memories we can talk about it then. But is there anything you can remember at the moment?"

Yuske hummed for a moment as he tried racking his memories again. "Well...There is something. It's a bit faint but...I remember a group called Virus chasing me. As their name suggests, they aren't the friendliest group to meet. I also do remember this voice telling me to 'find the Pretty Cure.' They are the only ones now that can drive Virus away. I tried to escape, came through your computer, and now we're all caught up."

Another minute of silence passed by. Yuske nodded to himself and got up. "That's it. It has to be you! You have to be a Pretty Cure, Tanya." Moving closer to the girl, Yuske closed his eyes and concentrated his power into a sphere. The sphere of energy became a solid orange orb. "Please, accept this destiny. Right now with Virus on the loose, not only my world is in danger but yours is too. Will you save both of our worlds?"

Tanya reached out for the orb gingerly, as if she was afraid it was going to break. As soon as she wrapped her hands around it she knew it wouldn't. She grabbed it and looked at the orb cautiously. To be honest, she really didn't want to do this. It seemed really far fetched despite the creature in front of her. Was it even telling the truth? And even if it was true could she really do it? She definitely wasn't the most athletic person or great at fighting. Someone else would be better suited for this then her.

But on the other hand, she really couldn't say no. She didn't want to say no. She could never turn away someone that needed help. It was something she grew up with all her life. Tanya always helped when she was needed. Plus this creature lost it's memories, begged her to help. She felt really sucky turning him down.

"Are you sure I can do this? And what exactly is this Pretty Cure thing?"

Yuske sat back down on the bed as he replied, "Pretty Cure are the legendary warriors of light. They are very powerful and can protect us all from evil. When you are transformed, you are even stronger and faster than you would be as a human. Plus, you would have these powers that can purify evil."

Tanya took another good look at the orb. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves. This decision wouldn't come without consequences. Even Tanya knew that despite feeling like she was in a fantasy. But she thought over every thought and every possibility at this point.

"All right. I will help you. I will become a Pretty Cure."

Shula barely made it on time to school. Her alarm clock of course stopped working again. It was probably time for her to get a new one since this was the fourth time since the semester started. She scanned the classroom, most of her classmates already in their seats chatting or whatever. Two desks were currently empty: Her's and Tanya's next to her. The frown that quickly came to her face showed that she was worried for the new girl.

She caught Tanya near the end of lunch period the day prior. The girl was trying her best not to cry. Shula knew by instinct that something bad happened to Tanya. But the girl refused to say anything. Shula could tell she was trying to act braver than she was and put on a fake smile. With nothing else that she could do, Shula gave up asking her.

Lost in her thoughts, Shula didn't notice someone come up behind her. She jumped a foot or so when she felt someone suddenly grip her wrist. She turned around to see Tanya and her big grin. She could feel that behind it was a more genuine smile from Tanya.

"Good morning Shula!" Keeping her hold on Shula's wrist, Tanya pulled her over to their desks. "Isn't today a great day! How are you feeling?"

"Uh, um...Good, I guess? How about you?" Shula asked back. She took a minute to think out what to say next. She didn't want to dredge up anything from yesterday or make the situation worse. "You seem to be a bit more happier than you were yesterday."

Tanya's smile widened even more, the corners of her mouth curling. Humming a bit, she told Shula with a wink, "I'm perfectly fine. Let's just say I had a...chance encounter." Of course Yuske had to be kept a secret. Him alone was going to be hard enough to explain to anyone should it come up.

As Tanya tried to go to sleep last night she still was anxious about all this Pretty Cure stuff. For some reason that she couldn't explain was that ever since she agreed to help Yuske, Tanya found this newfound strength. It also helped that Tanya remembered that since she was helping Yuske, she would also be helping the world.

"Are you sure you're okay? Did you bump your head Tanya?" Shula put her hand on Tanya's forehead. Maybe the girl bumped her head on accident this morning. Or maybe she was sick and had a fever. "Maybe you should go see the nurse?"

Tanya just chuckled as she took Shula's hand off her head. "I told you, I'm fine. You're just acting plain silly now."

The clock struck nine and the teacher walked in as the bell rang. "Good morning students!"

At the sound of the class representative telling the class to stand and bow, the classroom replied, "Good morning Mr. Morimoto!"

As the teacher started to take attendance, Tanya looked out of the window and smiled. Today was going to be a great day. She could feel it.

(Eyecatch: Milo and Uta try to look over Tanya's shoulder while she's reading a book. Tanya tries to get away from the two as Yuske takes it. Tanya chases him as the show's logo appears.)

(Eyecatch: Tanya is working on a computer as Milo and Uta play a game. Tanya's computer transforms into a Wirea. All three girls transform and defeat the Wirea as the show's logo appears.)

The bell chimed as it became lunchtime. The halls became more lively and full of chatter. A student here and there shouted as their favorite time of the day had come. Tanya was putting her books away as she noticed someone near her. She looked up to see Shula's smiling face.

"Hey Tanya! I don't have any clubs today so…" Shula pulled her arm up, revealing that her hand was holding a bento. "I can make good on my promise now. Would you like to eat with me?"

"Sure!" Tanya replied as she nodded back. "Just give me a few more seconds please?" It didn't take too much longer to finish putting her books away and make sure her bento, orb, and Yuske were in her bag. She grabbed her bag and got out of her seat. "All right, now let's go." Shula started to giggle and hide her mouth with her hand. Tanya noticed this and arched an eyebrow at the girl. "Okay, why are you giggling?"

"I'm sorry." Shula tried to stop giggling and wiped away a tear before she continued to speak. "You just seem happier today. I know I said something about that before. At first it seemed weird. But now? Now it just cheers me up."

Tanya started to giggle herself before quickly stopping and just smiling at Shula. The two of them walked out into the schoolyard and found themselves a spot to sit down and eat. As the two ate, they chatted about any subject that came to their mind. From school work to learning more about each other. Of course, neither of their lunches were safe from the other as they went back and forth asking if they can try some of the other's lunch.

"Wirea!"

"Uh…" Shula glanced around the area, followed by Tanya doing the same thing. "Did you hear that? What was it?"

The object came up behind Shula. Tanya screamed her name to get her attention to run away, but it was too late. The monster that resembled a pager knocked out Shula in just a few seconds.

Tanya tried as hard as she could to run away. It didn't take long for her asthma to catch up to her. She couldn't keep up the speed. She was breathing heavily and coughing fairly often. Tanya stumbled over her own feet and fell with the monster following not too far behind her. It's glare forced a panicked Tanya against a tree.

"What...What is that!?" was all that she was able to gasp out.

Yuske, finally fighting his way out of the school bag, caught up to Tanya. When he got to the girl he dropped the orb he gave her the previous day out of his mouth by her hand. "That's a Wirea," he answered soon after.

"A Wirea?"

"Yes. Virus can change normal electronics into these monsters. I don't know why but in some way it's helping them revive their leader. And of course they create plenty of havoc along the way." Yuske glanced at the orb before looking back at Tanya. "Since you have became a Pretty Cure, it's up to you to defeat them."

"B-But...How can I defeat them!?"

"Take a hold of your orb. Everything should be clear after that. Unfortunately that is all I know."

Tanya did as Yuske told her and grabbed her orb. There was no use arguing and fighting with him in this situation. It was currently life or death. Plus, she had to remind herself that she agreed to help him and she was determined to see that promise through. As soon as she got up and opened up her hand with the orb, Tanya started to glow orange. The orb shined and made a red compact appear in her open hand. "What is this?"

"That's gotta be the Static Compact," replied the cat-like creature. "It's a very important item for Pretty Cure. You can send messages if you find other teammates, it can track down Wireas. But the most important thing it can do is take your energy and transform you into a Cure."

"Wait, transform? There's no way I can-" Tanya cut herself off suddenly as her mouth had something else to say. "Pretty Cure Static Field! Activate!"

The Pager Wirea was swinging an arm at her but a ring of light appeared around Tanya's body and blocked it's shot.

Tanya could feel some sort of electricity racing across her body. But it never really harmed her. It actually felt good, like a mix of it was a natural occurrence and making her more energized and powerful. She could feel it change everything about her: Her hair, her eyes, even her clothes. As she felt this current leave her body. Tanya started to open her eyes. "Grounded and true to the power of light!" Tanya did her signature pose. "Cure Neutral!"

Neutral landed on her feet. No longer out of breath but felt full of energy she never felt before, even on a good day. She was no longer afraid either but full of courage. She wasn't the same person anymore, either physically or mentally. She was now this powerful warrior, standing and blocking the monster's way, in this orange uniform.

As the Wirea tried to hit Neutral again, this time with his opposite arm, Neutral just lifted her arm in its path. She easily stopped the attack with only one arm. Then she glared at the monster, her eyes full of anger. That monster attacked her only real friend at this school. That monster attempted to attack her. That monster wanted to destroy the whole school. Neutral took that anger and used it as her power as she flipped the Wirea off its feet.

Seeing the Wirea not moving an inch, Neutral thought the fight was over and started to walk away. That was a mistake on her end. The Wirea got back up and grabbed Neutral from behind. The Cure was screaming as the Wirea flung her into one of the outside walls of the school. After giving the wall a nice indent from her impact, Neutral fell down onto the ground.

"Neutral!" Yuske was off running once again to catch up to the Cure. Once he reached Neutral, he shook the girl to try and wake her up. "Neutral, are you okay?"

"Ow…" To Yuske's relief, Neutral pushed herself onto her knees and started to rub her head. "I'm okay Yuske. Thanks! But that thing really packed a punch."

"Then you need to defeat that thing now! Before it can damage anything else."

"No worries, I'm on it!" Neutral didn't take any time to jump back onto her feet. She ran towards the Wirea, jumped, and tried to kick it only to have the Wirea block the kick with both of it's arms. Neutral used that perpetual moment as she pushed off from the block to jump over the Wirea. The Wirea tried to swat the orange cure out of the sky, but Neutral was able to avoid every shot.

That was when the Wirea was able to grab Neutral by her leg when she least expected it. The monster tried to fling her to the ground. However, Neutral was able to flip her body so that she would land on her feet and cushion her fall.

It was time for her to try and attack again. Neutral tried to punch the Wirea head on only to be met with the Wirea's fist to stop it. Neutral backflipped away to avoid the Wirea using it's free arm to swipe at her from the side.

Yuske was trying his best to catch up to the two. But his small legs made it almost impossible to do so. So he eventually settled for sitting on a branch on one of the trees in the school yard. Something with enough protection from the Wirea or from being seen but also high enough that he could help Neutral by yelling. "Neutral, you need to use your special attack!"

"My what!?" Once again, before Neutral could even argue more her body and mind took over. She jumped over the punch the Wirea threw at her and just hit the ground with. Her body moved on it's own and before she knew it, Neutral was holding her hands out to her side. "Return to normal now!" Then she put her hands together in front of her and aimed it at the monster. "Pretty Cure Neutral Beam!"

Right before her eyes, Neutral saw the Wirea transform back into a harmless pager. But that wasn't the main worry on her mind at the moment. Only one thought was running through her mind as she landed and bolted off again. Is Shula okay? As she approached the tree, the first thing Neutral saw was Shula still knocked out but breathing. Good, she was still alive. Falling to her knees, she moved Shula's upper half onto her lap. "I'm sorry Shula. I couldn't save you in time." Tears of regret started to fall as Neutral returned to her human form.

Yuske wasn't running too far behind and caught up to Tanya soon after, sitting right next to the blonde. "So, what are you going to do about her now?"

"What else can I do?" Now Tanya's voice was almost soulless, as if she had been broken. She carefully laid Shula down, trying not to injure more than she had to as she got up. She walked over to pick up her bento and stayed in that spot for a moment. "I don't want to see anyone else hurt. Not my classmates, or my friends, or my father. If I don't get too close to anyone then there is no way they can get caught up in this mess right?"

As Shula started to open her eyes, Tanya walked away.

"So that's what happened," Milo realized as she hit her hand with a fist. The plate of cookies was devoured long ago thanks to both her and Uta. "When Shula came home that day, she was really worried about you and the way you were acting the rest of the day. We were worried about all of the injuries she had though…"

[Can I ask you something?] Uta signed quickly to Tanya.

[Sure.]

[How come you can transform by yourself. But when Milo and I did it we had to transform together?]

[I...I don't know. It's always been just me. So I wouldn't be able to answer that.]

"I think I can give you an answer for that one actually. Tanya, would you mind translating to her for me?" Yuske glanced at Tanya, waiting for a nod of approval from the girl before continuing. "This is just speculation but since you two got your powers at the same time the compacts must have linked you. However, this means from now on you guys need to transform together. If you try it by yourself it won't work. So you have to be extra careful when you are separated."

The two girls nodded to show that they understood Yuske's explanation.

Gaining their attention back, Tanya put on a very serious face for the two. It didn't matter if she scared them or not. They need to know what she was about to say was something they really needed to be sure about before they helped her again. "Now I want you girls to think if you are serious about doing this. Virus will no doubt attack the people who are closest to you. If you treat this like a game then people will die. I don't want you two to help me if you aren't going to mean it."

With that, both Milo and Uta went quiet. Neither of them didn't want to say no. They wanted to help Tanya and not let her do this alone after hearing what happened with her over the last few years. There was no way they wanted this world to be destroyed. But they weren't entirely sure if they were up to the task. If they were ready to take on a heavy burden. Unlike Tanya, they had a choice.

Before they could even try to answer somehow, the the three heard a thud outside while Uta only followed them once she felt the ground shake. Looking out of the window in Tanya's room, the group saw another Wirea. This time, it was very similar to a toaster.

"Really? A toaster…" Milo was trying to hold back her chuckles. "They couldn't have picked something more threatening?"

Not wanting to argue at all right now, Tanya just shook her head at the girl. "Anyways, we can't let it run rampant. Unless you girls are serious about being Pretty Cure you might as well stay out of the fight. Don't leave this room." She took out her Static Compact and orb and started her transformation as she shouted, "Pretty Cure Static Field! Activate!"

Milo and Uta covered their eyes as an orange glow quickly appeared and faded. In Tanya's place now stood Cure Neutral.

Yuske was unnaturally worried. He was running over to Neutral, trying to get to her. "Wait, Neutral, don't go! Not without these girls. You-"

But Neutral wasn't listening to him at all. Yuske couldn't tell if it because her main focus was on the monster or that she just didn't want to deal with it right now. But she kept moving on and put a foot on the windowsill. "Yuske, make sure the girls stay safe." Without another look to the three, the cure jumped out of her window and started to run towards where the carnage was.

Yuske jumped onto the windowsill but stopped. He couldn't possibly jump that distance down and live. "That idiot," he growled, bearing his teeth in anger that he couldn't stop her. "She can't do it alone."

"What do you mean?" Milo asked as she and Uta followed the creature to the window.

"I haven't had a chance to tell her a side effect of when you two became cures. You both remember how her compact glew and gave you two your powers?" Milo quickly took out a notebook and sloppily wrote everything said for Uta to read. It wasn't anything nice and tidy but Uta could still understand it fine. The two nodded and Yuske took another break to debate how he would explain the rest. He really didn't want to share the weakness Tanya would have in front of two people he was still getting to know and wasn't used to yet but in this situation there was no choice. "I could feel that the power it had was split into three. The power your orbs have is full amount of power you can call upon when you become Pretty Cure."

Milo waved her hand in front of her face. "Okay, let me see if I got this because I'm usually easily lost. Tanya's compact split her power and now she's only fighting with a third of the power then she is used to?"

"Correct. She's never had to deal with a loss of power before. I need to warn her."

"Then what are we waiting for? Uta?" Looking to her partner instead of writing anything this time, Milo took out her Static Compact and smiled at the brunette. Getting the message and nodding back in approval, Uta took out her compact also and the two started their transformation sequence.

"Pretty Cure Static Field! Activate!"

The two changed into their purple and yellow uniforms. As the glow subsided, they did their respective poses.

"Showing the dark side the shadows of the light! Cure Negative!"

"Shining on the bright side of things! Cure Positive!"

"Together we are Pretty Cure!"

The two cures nodded at each other and walked towards the window. As Negative jumped out, Positive looked back to Yuske. "Yuske, please stay here. We can't have you getting hurt. I promise, we will go warn and help Neutral." She followed her partner's suit and the two ran off to their destination.

Neutral screamed as she was easily thrown aside by the Wirea. She groaned as she tried to sit herself back up. It was so embarrassing to her. This should have been a piece of cake. But her body felt weird, like she lost something so familiar. Why am I so weak? A small fry like this should be a breeze for me. She just couldn't place her finger on what. Before she could even try to figure it out, she could hear a male's voice booming in laughter with his apparent victory. "Bug!"

"Yes, it's me." Coming out of his hiding spot was a male. He had the normal size of a human body for his age. But he was easily spotted because of his short teal haired swept to the right side and his piercing red eyes. His sinister smile increased tenfold as he looked down on the orange cure. "It's been a long time, hasn't it Cure Neutral?"

Neutral couldn't force her body to move as she saw Bug coming towards her. Partially out of fear and partially out of shock from being thrown her body wouldn't respond at all. She tried pushing herself up but slipped and fell over again. Of course, Bug didn't miss this and took the chance to taunt her.

"What? The poor little Pretty Cure can't stand up for herself?" The smile was still there but now even the glare in his eyes was affecting Neutral, robbing her of her ability to speak. "Too bad. I guess this is how the story ends. As if we all didn't know how it was going to."

Before Bug could land even one hand on Neutral, Positive and Negative jumped into Bug's path and blocked him from the weakened cure. Growling at the two, he glared at them and asked, "And who exactly do you think you are?"

"Someone who isn't about to let you get your way," Negative said as she glared back. That glare he was giving was making her feel like her body was cold but Negative did her best to try and keep moving. "I am Cure Negative."

"And I am Cure Positive." Now it was Positive turn to join Negative, despite feeling the same sort of chill in her body. Pointing at Bug, she continued on saying what Negative was also thinking. "And you are not laying a hand on our friend!"

"Let's see if you can keep up then." Bug put his hand up in a 'come-at-me' fashion, to which Positive responded with a punch that the Wirea blocked.

As that happened, Negative went over to check and make sure Neutral was okay. "Hey how you feeling? Yuske told us what he was trying to warn you. Oh hey, careful, careful…" Negative was trying to help Neutral up, slow so the female wouldn't react badly or her body wouldn't dislike her for it later, and put one of Neutral's arms over her shoulder to move her to a safer location. "When your compact gave us our powers, it didn't do so without affecting you. It split your power into three so you are only fighting with a third of your strength right now."

Out of the corner of her eye, Negative could see Neutral wince. She stopped for a minute to let the orange cure regain her breath. "Didn't you hear me? Don't push yourself. Once we find a place for you to hide, Positive and I can take care of this creep."

Hearing that last comment, Bug was easily angered. He was one of those types that if talked about in the wrong light he was done with the person no matter how close they were. Swinging one of his hands out, he shouted, "Go Wirea! Pound these two newbies into the ground!"

"Wirea!" The toaster monster punched it's fist into the sidewalk hoping to hit both Positive and Negative at once as the two got closer to each other. Now being much more experienced to how the Wirea would attack, Positive and Negative, with the latter still keeping her hold on Neutral, jumped away from the attack. Neither of the cures were anywhere to be found but the crater in the ground was left as a reminder.

In the confusion the Wirea was left with, which was frantically looking around to find any of the cures, Negative was able to get Neutral out of the heat of battle as Neutral reverted back to Tanya. Leaving the injured girl in the alley, Negative told her, "Stay here. I promise, we'll take care of the Wirea quickly."

Even if she wanted to, Tanya couldn't stop them or move. Her body was still feeling the aftereffects of everything. With a slight nod she had no choice but to let the purple cure go do what she had to.

As she left, Negative swore she could hear Tanya mumble, "Those two are sure growing up fast."

Positive was holding her own against the Wirea, even without Negative. Down the street there were many buildings with holes on the side of them or even flat out destroyed. Positive was able to escape with only a few scratches. As the Wirea came for the yellow clad girl again, she sidestepped to grab the monster by it's back and slam it into yet another building.

Jumping back again to get out of the range of the Wirea, Positive tripped. In her momentary confusion she was the perfect sitting duck. The Wirea put all of its power into its fist and threw it down with all of its strength to destroy the cure. But this was stopped as Negative landed in front of Positive and held her hands out to stop the blow. With enough momentum, she flipped the Wirea onto its back.

Glancing back towards the person behind her, Negative exclaimed, "All right. Let's do it Positive!"

With a nod, Positive pushed herself up and grabbed Negative's hand.

"Positive Charge!"

"Negative Charge!"

As the two closed their eyes, they glew their respective colors.

"We can feel it! The warmth of good flowing through us. Pretty Cure Charge Cannon!"

A light came out of both girls' free hand and enveloped the Wirea. The monster reverted to its original form of a toaster.

"Ugh! I'll get you Pretty Cure! But for today, I'll retreat." Snapping his fingers, Bug disappeared as he left that statement for the cures.

"Are you okay?"

Negative and Positive turned to the source of the question. The said source was Tanya who was slowly making her way to the two.

Negative turned back and walked towards Tanya with a smile. "Don't worry. We beat that Wirea's butt and sent that guy packing!" With a chuckle, Negative looked so proud of herself. The sun just added to it and seem to make it glow around her.

Positive was a stark opposite though. She was more worried and less carefree. "Tanya, who was that guy?" She asked. It was still unusual to hear any voices, especially her own squeaky one that slurred very often in her sentences. But it was something she was slowly getting used to hearing.

"There are three right hand men of Virus. Unfortunately, you have just met one of them. His name is Bug. He's more dense than his teammates but what he lacks in smarts he makes up for in strength. Then again, when it comes to overall strength then all three of them are very powerful." With a sigh, Tanya turned away from the two. "Though if they scared you today, maybe you shouldn't be Pretty Cure. You both still have one last chance to stop fighting with me."

"Are you kidding?" Negative grabbed Tanya's shoulders as Positive put herself in front of the girl, blocking her path. "Remember, right now you are weak. You can't fight at your full power and need help. No matter what happens, we'll be there for you Tanya!"

After looking at Positive, who nodded in agreement at Negative's statement, Tanya slightly smiled in relief. She was scared and unwilling to have more people join this fight that was supposed to be just hers. But there was a happy feeling swelling inside of her. She no longer had to face this fight alone. "I hope you know just exactly what you are getting into," she chuckled.

Positive and Negative looked at each other before looking back at Tanya and smiling.

Tanya: Well, I guess now you two are in for the long run…

Milo: Wait, Tanya do you really bring Yuske with you to school!?

Tanya: I have no choice. He can let us know when a Wirea is nearby much more accurately than our compacts can. Plus, if I left him at home my dad would definitely discover him.

Uta: Is he usually this riled up though?

Milo: Next time on Pretty Cure Static: "This is a Problem! Yuske Can't Be Found Out!"

Uta: Tanya, hurry! We can't keep him quiet any longer.)
