Author's Notes: I haven't done anything Christmas for a while. Why not come up with the perfect after math for an insert done 4 years ago? Nothing too special, just a cute little poetry change.
Disclaimer: I do not own Twas the Night After Christmas or any references made. This is just for fans of Naruto to enjoy.
NNN
Twas the night after Christmas and all through their walk,
All Naruto did was to bitch and to talk
Not a creature was stirring—excepting 3 ninja
Who had thrown 3 jingle bell hats away in their haste
Knowing that Tsunade would soon lay them to waste
Children in Konoha were probably restlessly tossing in bed,
For the kunai and shuriken were heavy as lead
While Tsunade with her sake and Jiraiya with his laughter,
Had just made up their minds not to end their playful banter—at our ninjas expense
Surely someone in the village would ask what was the matter
When our ninjas arrived home in a few days with their clothes all a tatter?
Away from the road they made a mad dash!
Flew over some snow banks with a loud CRASH
With a hushed mutter they heard a great mash
Of boots crunching snow
As their heads peeked out slowly toward the object below
When what to their long anxious eyes should appear
But a sleigh and eight tiny reindeer
With a little old driver looking sober and slow
They knew at a glance that it must be their foe!
They drew back their heads and were turning around,
When up came Santa with scarcely a sound
His breath wasn't atrocious
Naruto was feeling quite precocious
Santa wore some overcoat made long ago
And the beard on his chin had traces of cookie dough
He mumbled about elves and their work
While Naruto hollered, "You Jerk!"
Before the old man had the chance to slide his finger aside of his nose
The three ninja had arose
For surely his capture would save their reputations
And they'd be able to ring in the New Year with good salutations
They didn't recall him to be so cunning
He soon had the ninja all running
Santa tried to reason with them about bad kids and no candy
While Naruto indicated that he had never been dandy
At long last they were able to apprehend
And as they stuffed him in the back seat of the sleigh, their troubles they thought had come to an end
Naruto laughed and took hold of the reins, before he exclaimed, "Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
The 3 ninja barely had time to anticipate their near fall
As they flew through the night, their mouths all ajar
Their village suddenly did not seem so far
When they landed on the Hokage's roof, with a little old man all tied up in rope,
They knew no one could save them, not even the Pope!
For Santa had seen them on the road far from home,
Stopped to escort them he thought he should
He had no idea they'd be up to no good
The Hokage in her pajamas glared at the trio before exclaiming to Santa, "Well...a good night to you!"
Santa cleared his throat, giving a weary look toward the young ninja, "You too."
And they heard him exclaim over the irate Hokage's voice, as he flew out of sight,
"Some children just really aren't too bright!"
