So this is a revamp of another story I've written a while ago. I cringed reading it so I figured I might as well redo it. I do have the next chapter of my other story almost ready, just writing the last part so that should be up within the next few weeks. Please enjoy this story. Oh yes, don't steal Ella from me.
Chapter 2
Seven o'clock in the morning was rolling around as Ella and Erza stood outside the train station waiting for the other two. Ella crossed her arms because it was nearly seven and she could feel the annoyance of Erza also. "Didn't I tell them seven?" She asked out loud to one no but glanced at the clock.
"They will be here." Erza said as she began to tap her foot impatiently. "They better be here or else we will leave without them." She glanced at Ella, "Didn't you go home last night?"
She shook her head
That made Ella laugh but heard footsteps heading towards them quiet quickly. "Ah, they are here." She placed her hands upon her hips seeing the two other team mates panting hard. "And please explain why you two are late?"
"Sorry Lucy was taking forever." Gray panted a bit as he leaned forwards to catch his breath from the running they had just done. "So… what is it we are doing?"
"A mission." Ella said calmly as she watched the two of them carefully. "It's an S-class mission." She smirked when she saw Gray and Lucy's eyes widened, neither one of them weren't S class mages. "Don't worry, I got permission from the guild master." She held up a finger hearing Erza cross her arms.
A smirk played onto Erza's face as she glanced over at Ella. "Now I understand why you said to pack light." Though behind her, she was hauling quiet a bit of luggage herself.
"That's packing light?" Lucy mumbled to herself with a slight laugh but knew that was light for Erza. She glanced at Ella curious about the mission because no one ever can do S Class missions but the S Class mages. This must be serious if she had gotten his permission, but then would mean that they would be put through some grueling trials.
Ella rolled her eyes at them but saw the train incoming from the distance. "This mission is to find a kidnaped male." She shook her head a bit because that was being very vague about what it was. "I am glad that you all wanted to come, because this actually came to my attention this morning. I had another mission picked out, but this was an urgent request."
Erza looked a bit worried because normally the S Class missions have to be approved by the guild master. But if the master agreed they were fine doing it, she's not complain. "Well then, let us get going then. We don't want to hold the client waiting for much longer than needed."
Everyone nodded in agreement before they boarded the train. They looked for an empty compartment and after a minute found one. They sat down and got comfortable because it would be a bit of a ride.
Lucy was chatting up Gray and Erza while Ella sat there quietly trying to hide her discomfort about the moving vehicle. She wasn't fond of transportation, which he inherited from her father, but knew that there wasn't anything she could do for it. She was half listening to the conversation, she heard her name being called and opened one eye curiously. "What? Is something wrong?"
"I asked what the rewards on the flyer is?" Lucy shook her head a bit because of having to repeat herself once again after trying to gain Ella's attention.
"Oh, it's a pretty big one. But it involves with doing the mission right." She didn't want to give to much away just yet. It will be discussed about when they go meet their client.
Gray noticed Ella not looking so good by that time, "Are you alright?" This caused the other two to put their attention upon Ella worriedly.
"I'm fine." She held up on hand and put the other over her face for a minute. "I just hate vehicles that all. I get motion sickness if I'm on a vehicle too long."
Gray could only nod as he watched her for a moment before he looked out the window.
The rest of the ride was quiet as Ella was trying to calm her stomach down, Lucy was reading a book, Gray just kept starring out the window, and Erza was taking a nap.
When the train pulled up the train pulled up to the train station, Ella was the first one off as her stomach finally calmed down before she looked back at the rest of them. She stuck her hands in her pockets as she watched them exit the train before she raised her nose in air taking a few sniffs before the group began to head off towards the clients place. Even though they got lost at one point.
The group walked by a lot of stores that seemed to catch each person's attention at one point. And when they had found a store, they all veered off towards it too. Ella was inside one looking at a few jewelry items but glanced at the window because something just didn't feel right. She walked out of the store and they all headed towards the hut a few minutes away. Upon getting to the hut, she knocked on the door twice waiting for someone to answer. After a few minutes, the door slowly opened and an elderly man stood there. "Hello?" He looked frail like he was about to fall over at any minute.
"Hello." Ella smiled at him a bit, "We are the mages from Fairy Tail that took your request." She showed him her guilds insignia.
He blinked as his eyes widened letting them into the house and shut the door. He coughed a few times before he walked over to a table and sat down in the chair because he needed to rest. The group stood on the other side of the table silently.
But Ella closed her eyes for a minute, "Thank you for letting us in, but now lets get down to business. The longer we wait, the harder it will be."
He smiled as he looked at Ella, "You really do look like the boy that I'm requesting you save." That comment caught her attention. "He was taken from me a few weeks ago with his companion. He turned himself in to save the town."
Ella studied him and could tell he was telling the trust but he seemed to be hiding something also. She sighed a bit as she looked at her group, which they nodded in agreement. "Do you know where they took him mister?"
"To the dark guild Dark Guardian."
Erza's eyes widened because she had heard of that guild before, it was one of the darker guilds that didn't cause much trouble on the surface but was deadly when they did. Ella and her had one run in with them a few months back.
Ella was also worried as she brought her hand up to her mouth worriedly. "What do they want with him?"
"I don't know, they wouldn't tell me." He shook his head a little as he put his hands over his face to hide the tears that were threatening to spill. "Please save him, I've been raising him the last few years and he's a sweet boy. Him and his little cat."
"Aye! Natsu told me he would break out" A little blue cat walked through a door as he patted the mans leg a bit sad. "Natsu said he'd be back." He looked up at Ella and tilted his head. "Do I know you?" Lucy's eyes widened a bit because he looked just like Charlie, and Pantherlily. Was he an exceed too?
Ella smiled as she kneeled down and patted his head softly. "No you don't, but want to come along with me to save him?" When he smiled and nodded, she picked him up while standing up before she glanced at the man. "Well then, we'll get going."
"Wait!" He got up quickly even though they could see it hurt him. "What about the reward? Aren't you going to ask for the reward?"
Gray grinned as he chuckled, "We know you don't have that kind of money old man so don't worry about it." He gave him a thumbs up because he could tell the other felt the same way.
He stood there as the tears really did fall this time before he nodded watching them leave his house. How come there were such nice people in this world? He only hoped that they rescued the boy.
As they got to the road Ella turned back towards the others before she looked at the blue cat. "What your name little guy?"
"Aye! My name is Happy!" He smiled and raised his paw in the air, "I love fish! Can you buy me a fish?" The group laughed at that comment. He looked at the four of them, "What's your names?"
Lucy pointed to herself with a smile on, "My name is Lucy."
"The name is Gray." He crossed his arms as he smirked a bit.
"Erza." She simply said.
Ella laughed a bit at her team mates before he saw Happy look at her. "And my name is Ella." She felt him get comfortable in her grasp before they began to head towards the town again.
Lucy seemed bothered by something as they walked before she decided to speak up. "Hey guys." She paused before they entered the town which made the others too as they looked at her confused. "I know he said Dark Guardians, but it seemed like Erza and Ella knew whom they were. Care to explain?"
The two glanced at each other knowing it would come out eventually. Erza closed her eyes before she sighed because she might as well explain. "The Dark Guardians are a very dark and twisted dark guild. They are the single most powerful slave trading guild that anyone knows of to this day." She looked at Lucy and Gray worried. "Not much is known about how they operate or where their base is either. Ella and I had a run in with some members a few months ago when we had been summoned to do an S Class mission. It didn't end so well for either sides, so we know they are quiet strong also."
Gray was worried because if no one knew where their base was, how in the world would they be able to track them? "Then how will we find them? And are you sure that this mission is alright for Lucy and me to come along on?"
"The master said it was alright for the four of us." Ella shook her head a bit because she saw the worry on both Lucy and Gray's face. "I have a map that was sent along with the request that shows the area around the town. They couldn't be too far, but it is thought of that they are hidden somewhere in the mountain valleys surrounding the town." Three mountain chains interconnected around the town giving it a natural protection and huge area to hide in with all the caves and such."
"So that means we have to travel there on foot?" Lucy whined a bit but knew they'd have to because anything else would give them away. And stealth was the main thing here to get to the dark guild.
They all silently agreed that night time travel would be the best once they got closer to where the base was thought to be. So the group decided to rest up for a few hours before they headed out and it took them about three days of travel to find any trace of the base. By the time they stumbled upon the base from a distance, it was around midnight. They watched the base for a few hours hoping to figure out when to be able to sneak in but it seemed like they didn't stop.
"This is crazy… do they even sleep?" Lucy said quietly as she yawned, all of them were tired because they hadn't slept in nearly a day.
"Well they do operation all day and night long, so I doubt we'd get any chance." Gray responded with a slight laugh before he sat down next to a rock as he yawned. "Ella, when are we going to strike?" He closed his eyes, a bit worried, because she hadn't talked much these last few days. She had seemed like she wasn't completely there either. But he had never gotten a reply.
Ezra looked around when she didn't hear Ella reply to Gray but didn't see her. "Wait, where did she go?" Now that Ella's disappearance was noted, the three all looked around worried.
The bushes behind them suddenly began to shake which caused the group to get into battle stances but when Ella's head appeared she laughed a bit. "I'm sorry, I was checking something out." She went through the bushes completely before she held up a hand to say sorry.
"So what in the world are we going to do?" Lucy now pointed to the buildings within the valley. "They are heavily guarded and charging in wouldn't be smart."
That made Gray snort a bit as he waved one of his hands in air, "But charging in is what we do best isn't it?"
Ella brought up a hand to her chin before she looked at Gray, "That is true." She walked over to the ledge as she looked over the base carefully. A smirk slide upon her face as she glanced back at them, "Charging in and creating a mess is defiantly our style." She cracked her knuckles a bit before she looked back at the base. "Well shall we go have some fun?"
"But how are we going to do that?" Lucy was a bit worried.
"We just have to create a disturbance somehow?" Erza was trying to think of a way that they could to give them a chance to charge in.
Ella sighed a bit before she reached into her pocket and pulled out her glowing key, which made Lucy gasp because she hadn't seen one like that before. She got out of the sight of the base and held out the key in front of her as a summoning gate appeared underneath her. "Open the gate of the eternal guardian! Nira!" In a puff of smoke a small white exceed appeared, she didn't look happy either.
"You took your sweet time." Nira pouted as she grew her wings and floated up to face Ella. "I was so bored." She then landed back on the ground while she crossed her arms.
Ella could only smile at her friend before she saw Lucy standing there with her mouth open with a very confused look upon her face. "Is there something wrong Lucy?"
"You… you summoned…" Lucy's voice was shacking a little as she pointed at Nira. "An exceed… is a spirit?"
Erza looked at the little white exceed also as she tilted her head to the side, "I'm surprised that you can summon being a spirit yourself. Though Lucy did say that most spirits can't stay in the human world, yet I've always found it weird you could."
"That is for me to know and you all to find out later." Ella turned towards Nira, ignoring the stares the two were getting, before she walked back up to the edge of the cliff. "Alright, I'm going to make a distraction and I need you all to charge in there while I'm giving you the time. After that I will catch up." Ella closed her eyes as she listened to the sounds coming from the base for a few minutes before she opened her eyes. "Get going, but be quiet about it until you get the signal." The three left not knowing what the signal would be but figured they'd known it when they saw it.
Happy had stayed with Ella and Nira because he was curious, he had never met another cat like him. "Wow, how did you become a spirit?"
Nira looked at him a bit bored before she looked back at Ella. "Are you sure you want to announce it to the world Ella? You've kept it hidden this long." At that statement, Happy tilted his head confused.
"Yup." She threw an arm into the arm, "Let's get going Nira." She glanced back at Happy. "You might want to stay back, it's been awhile since I've used my powers." Suddenly golden fire began to swirl around her hand as her brown eyes changed into a bright gold color. Happy's eyes widened as Nira began to glow also, it seemed like flames began to flow from Nira to Ella, charging her up even more.
The golden fire began to spread up her arm until it suddenly surrounded her completely and she opened her mouth sucking in all the flames. She put her hands in front of her mouth as she took another deep breath. "Roar of the Celestial Dragon!' Golden fire spewed out from her mouth and shot straight into the valley alarming and burning a lot of the dark guild members that happen to be outside.
"A dragon slayer!' Happy threw his paws up in the air as he tried to understand whom this young woman was. He hadn't met any other dragon slayers other than his partner. He watched as the flames spread over the buildings like it was a living thing. He saw Ella finish as steam flowed from her body but he noticed her eyes changed back to their original brown.
Ella panted hard because that had taken a lot of her for not using it for so long. Nira looked worried, "Are you going to be alright? I told you, storing your powers with me was a bad idea."
"Yeah well, I couldn't use it until the right time." She heard the screams from the people knowing her team would take this chance.
The three team mates watched with wide eyes as the golden fire spread and none of them could believe what they were seeing. Gray ran a hand through his hair as he smirked. "I knew there was something different about her. Oh well, I guess this is our queue then."
"Yes, we'll ask her about everything later." Erza x-quipped into one of her armors as she charged forwards with Gray and Lucy behind her. They raced through the fire, and they noticed that all the fire around wasn't burning them or even hot. But it was like it hurt anything else it touches. Erza mentally noted she'd have to ask about that later too. She wanted to know who they were going to save because Ella really had never said anything about herself. The three of them also felt like they were being called towards the main building for some unknown reason , "Let's get to the main building."
"Right!" Lucy and Gray yelled as they all shot straight for the main building. Not having to battle any members because they had more to worry about that the three of them at the moment.
