Many thanks to Creepy-Pasta for naming my oc twins
While the Autobot leader replied to the tiny life form, Windblade half listened to Hound as he then explained their agreement with the humans, while fascinated by how easily she could see the agent's thoughts and worries. Keeping quiet, she wondered how they would take to learning of her telepathic abilities.
"And I 'll let you know as soon as we find out, Agent Fowler" Optimus finished speaking and glanced to where Windblade was listening to Hound, "Good, anything to keep the peace such as it is. Have you warned her about the children?"
"Not yet, but she'll be duly warned about Miko." Optimus chuckled, drawing a curious glance from Windblade before she looked around for somewhere to leave her empty cube.
"Miko? Is that another hu-man?" Windblade asked curiously as she followed Optimus Prime down another corridor from the rec room and peered curiously out several windows at the view as they passed. "Yes and I should warn you that you're more likely to hear her before you see her." Optimus replied, a slight chuckle evident in his voice. "Sounds intriguing, Hound said that humans are the dominant species here. I'm looking forward to learning more about where we are."
"But first we'll be discussing what you remember before going into the stasis pod we found you in." Optimus replied, pushing the door they'd reached open and ushered Windblade into the room. The femme glanced curiously at the three mechs whom turned from their conversation to greet the Prime before peering at Windblade. After introducing the femme to his SIC, TIC and Head of security, Optimus motioned for her to take a seat then settled in his usual place.
"Now, if you'd care to begin again." the Matrix bearer said, reassurance in his voice when Windblade looked slightly nervous. Shyly clearing her throat, Windblade nodded then took a sip of the energon cube which had been passed her by Jazz.
"I told Optimus I was a tunnel runner in Kaon on the..." Windblade began speaking only to jump when Red Alert yelled, "Deception spy!" and began demanding that Prowl should put her in stasis cuffs and to shove her in the brig. Wide-opticed she stared at the ranting Head of security, wondering what had caused him to act as though she was a threat. "Red Alert, Windblade has only been online for a groon and has been with me since she got the all-clear from Ratchet," Optimus said, cutting across the Head of security's continued rant. Grumbling about the sneakiness of Deceptions and their methods of infiltration, Red Alert lent back in his chair, arms crossed and glowering warily at the bronze/purple femme.
Windblade swallowed anxiously, suddenly feeling like she was standing before the mine supervisor who'd seen her using her telepathy to locate a trapped group of miners. Taking a sip of energon, she fidgeted with the cube then began again. "The tunnels I worked at were situated close to the Gladiatorial Pits and most of my workmates would go there when they had time off. I never saw the amusement in watching mechs knocking the scrap out each other, so spent my time off lending a hand sparkling sitting for those on later shifts." a smile crossed Windblade's face then vanished as she sighed. "I had heard the rumours of a Gladiator rallying mechs and femmes to join in overturning the stranglehold those in power had on practicality everyone. But when I joined some workmates to watch one of Megatronus's speeches, something struck me as wrong. I just couldn't slip away quick enough, certainly some of his points were valid, but the manner of how he was going to implement them. It scared the scrap out of me."
Windblade took a sip to freshen her mouth watching Optimus, Prowl and Jazz quietly discussed what she'd told them so far, Red Alert continued to grumble under his breath about spying Deceptions.
Marshalling her thoughts, Windblade suddenly realised that her memories of the days before she'd been pushed into the stasis pod meant that she'd have to tell those present of her telepathic ability. "Despite my not wanting to return to hear more of what he had to say. Those I worked with pestered me to join them on another night. To me it just sounded like more of what I'd heard before, so..." a shiver ran through Windblade's frame, "So I scanned his mind and nearly purged my tank, he...he wanted all the sparklings killed by those faithful to his cause and as many carriers as could be located. I..."
"What do you mean by 'scanned his mind'?" Prowl asked, doorwings twitching curiously, while Optimus and Jazz looked at Windblade as she glanced nervously at Red Alert before clearing her vocaliser, and muttered, "I...I'm a telepath."
"I knew it! Deception spy, even now you could be telling Soundwave our location, passcodes and weaknesses!" Red Alert snapped, jumping to his peds and pointing an accusing servo at Windblade. Windblade shrunk back in her seat as three pairs of optics turned to watch her.
"That faceless glitch was there that time, scanning for spies." Windblade said with a shudder, "I... I felt his mind brush against mine and it took all my ability to show him what he expected to find, an eager listener. Primus only knows what would have happened if my ability had been discovered."
"All the same ya gotta admit it's suspect ya both havin' the same ability." Jazz commented, his gaze not leaving Windblade's as she fidgeted with the half empty cube while Optimus and Prowl managed to calm Red Alert down before he glitched.
"Do you know what it's like to 'hear' miners trapped by the tunnel they worked in collapsing on them knowing that help will not reach them in time?" Windblade said, catching their attention, "To stand by and hear their minds crying out pleas to Primus or apologies to their bondmates and sparklings, if they have any, and then begin to fade as their sparks extinguished." Coolant tears ran unheeded down Windblade's face as she stared at the grain of the table, struggling to bring her pain under control. "I've lost track of how many times I've come out of recharge reaching out to try and save those long off-lined." she fell silent and as she was still staring at the table didn't see the nod Jazz gave the others.
"So ya were saying how ya found out 'bout bucket-head's scheming?" he queried after several kliks passed, Windblade nodded, rubbing the coolant from her cheeks, "Y-yes, and my first thoughts went to my boss Ironfist, his bondmate had twin femmes, Violet Streamer and Iron Velvet, 5 vorn old. So I played 'dumb Megatronus fan' for the rest of that meeting and until I left those I'd been with. Then I bid them good recharge, before heading for Ironfist's quarters to warn him and Steelrose of the danger." Pausing to sip her energon, Windblade shyly glanced over to where Optimus and Red Alert sat and felt a spark of relief on seeing that the Security Head wasn't glowering so intently at her.
"Ironfist was surprised when I commed him, but agreed to speak with me and was waiting outside his quarters when I arrived."
Before Windblade could continue, the intercom crackled and Ratchet informed those in the room that Teltraan-1 had picked up another stasis pod signal. "Vi and Vel!" Windblade exclaimed, nearly knocking her seat over as she shot to her pedes. The mechs also leapt to their pedes and Jazz caught Windblade's arm, pulling her after Optimus and Prowl as the Autobot leader commed Ratchet to ready the ground bridge.
