Silent Hill: Salvation

Chapter 2

Kaylie turned to look at the pyramid head-thing but as soon as she had looked back in his direction, he had vanished. All of the logic in Kaylie's mind urged her to believe that this was all a dream. An incredibly vivid dream but a dream nonetheless. Still if this were a dream how could it seem so real? She could feel a dull throbbing in her calf and she could smell the blood of the thing that had almost killed her. It was all so real, too real to be a dream, a hallucination or even drug induced. Besides Kaylie had never done drugs in her life.

Suddenly, she was alarmed by a strong hand that clasped itself over her mouth. "I'm not going to hurt you but there are worst things out there then what you just saw" a man's voice whispered hurriedly.

"We need to find a way out of this town. Are you with me or not?" Kaylie had no choice but to nod vigorously.

The man's hand released itself from her mouth; giving her a chance to turn around and look him in the eye. He was looking at her with intense brown eyes and she noticed he had a curved scar on his jaw" My names Joseph"

Kaylie took note of his EMT uniform" Kaylie Anderson" She didn't trust men, for very good reason but hell she didn't have any luxuries in this situation. "Do you have a plan Joseph?"

He nodded his head" Our best option would probably be Alchemilla Hospital, if we're going to get out of here we're going to need supplies" Kaylie nodded in agreement as she had used the only first aid kit on her leg.

"I've played survival horror games so I have a hunch that we'll need: bullets, something to shoot the bullets, first aid kits and something to carry it all in"

Joseph looked at her darkly" This is no game." But he still listened to her and broke open a few lockers with a metal pipe Kaylie finally noticed he was holding.

Kaylie emptied a few backpacks that she noticed were resting next to the lockers and packed them with extra bullets whilst reloading her gun. "I'm still freaking out, I can't believe this is happening."

Joseph was strangely calm and collected "You get used to it after a while." Kaylie silently wondered just how long Joseph had been doing this and if he could be trusted.

Either way she had to go with him, he obviously knew a lot more about the town than she did. She breathed out slowly" Let's go"

Joseph kicked the door open, pipe in hand but there was nothing to be heard or hit.

Kaylie tried to stop her body from shaking and held onto her gun for dear life but the only thing that could be heard was the sound of the wind howling. It was difficult to see with the heavy fog but there was the silhouette of a woman in the distance. Kaylie started to lower her handgun but Joseph wasn't so quick to assume the best. As the silhouette got closer it was clear that her movements were sharp and jerky.

Kaylie gasped at what she saw, it was wearing a white dress with blood stains on it. Its hair was composed of decaying flesh and tied back with a sky blue bow. The hands if you could call them that were fused together to give the appearance of being folded neatly. (I call her Alice) Even so it was her face that could make the hairs on anyone's neck stand on end: two gaping holes for eyes and a mouth sewn up in a sick almost pained smile.

"What are you waiting for? Shoot it now!" Joseph called out, bringing Kaylie back to reality. She was so terrified that the first two bullets missed but the third one hit it straight in-between her eye sockets. Alice staggered backward and fell to the ground twitching violently. Joseph walked over to the dying creature and stomped on it with loathing. Alice never moved again.
