Shock and confusion were the only two emotions that I could successfully pinpoint. Questions raced through my mind at light speed. Why did Jasper come back? What about Alice? I took a deep breath and decided that none of these questions matters. All that matters it hat I have two precious children with me. "What would you like to name them?" Dr. Carter asked, pulling out his clipboard.
"I'd like Jade Esme Swan for my daughter and Trey Jasper Swan for my son." Confidence rang in my voice as I looked down at my entire universe. Charlie gave me an incredulous look before smiling softly. "What?" I asked.
"You're naming them after the people who left you." He stated unsurely. I nodded and he sighed with a smile. I handed Jade to Charlie and the look of love in his eyes was indescribably beautiful. He coddled her close, cooing sweet things to her. I knew Renee would ecstatic when she got here. I wasn't due for another week, so she'd be surprised to see babies already. Trey had deep mahogany colored hair with light blue eyes. I could make out Jasper's features in him; he had his nose and ears, but my widows peak. Jade had honey blonde colored hair that reminded me so much of Jasper. Her eyes were bold and brown, just like mine. I mused to myself how I was already noticing small things about my children like mothers do. The road ahead of me was long and I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but with Charlie by my side and my beautiful children, I was confident that I would make it.
One Year Later
The road was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. Senior year went by quickly. It was harder than I thought to manage school and having children, but I graduated with straight A's. I don't think Charlie could have been more proud. I lost all the weight I gained from the pregnancy and amazingly ended up with no stretch marks. I've also become more graceful in the last year. I hardly trip now, but it's a good thing because I would hate to fall while holding one of my babies. Renee loved her grandchildren from the moment she first saw them. She was completely thrilled at their names and very devastated to return to Jacksonville. In the last year, she has made many trips out here to see us. Jade and Trey's birthday was in three days and Renee would be flying in for a week. It is crazy how much they've changed over the last year. They aren't little babies anymore and I miss it, but I love seeing how they have grown. Trey's first word was Papa for Charlie and Jade had said Mama. These two love bugs made my life worth living every single day. I had planned out an under the sea themed birthday for them. It's been a busy few days and Charlie was watching them every day while I was out getting things for their party.
The grocery store was fairly empty for a Wednesday night. My cart was full of groceries that we would need for the party. I got to the checkout and a nervous feeling came over it. It's like one of those feelings when you're watching a horror movie and the girl is going straight where the villain is waiting for her. I quickly paid for the food and tried to shake the feeling. My beat up truck was at the end of the parking lot and I rushed to it. My key got stuck in the door as usual. I swore as I tried wiggling it out.
"Hello Isabella." An all too familiar voice snarled. The key comes loose and drops onto the wet pavement. My heartbeat was ringing in my ears as I was frozen in place.
"Victoria." A barely audible whisper leaves my lips as I begin to shake. She came out of the darkness from the trees and I saw fire. Her hair was as red as ever and it chilled me to my core. I can't die. I have my babies to take care of. Panic starts to come over me as she edges closer.
"Yes, Isabella, it's me. Don't worry, I won't kill you. Your precious Edward would enjoy being a martyr too much. I need to do something that will completely unravel him. If you became a vampire, he'd hate it." She was next to me now, her icy breath on my neck. My knees started to buckle, but she prevents me from falling. "Your blood is amazing." Shivers run down my spine as a sharp pain in my neck makes me yelp. A fire was set alive in my body. I was being swallowed in it and my screams couldn't escape the flames. They engulfed me in a pain that I had never felt before. I felt like I was moving and it made the fire burn even more. Put the fire out. That was the last coherent thought I had being passing out.
