A/N: There still might be similarity in this story to steffiechan's How to love a pirate. I'm very sorry about that... and hope that she doesn't kill me...

Hot winds of the Caribbean

(The Black Pearl and captain Jack Sparrow)

The sunlight tickled my eyes and I opened them slowly. The headache was gone which only was a very good thing. But something was pressing my waist. I lowered my eyes and I saw a tanned arm thrown around me. I took a deep breathe and I tried to wriggle out under the hand. But the grip just got tighter.

"Going somewhere?" Jack asked me drowsly.

"Keep your hands off me!" I snapped at him more angrily than I meant.

Jack looked at me grinning and let go of his grip on me. I climbed off the bed just to discover I was still without my trousers.

"Where are my trousers?" I asked Jack who still looked grinning. My thongs surely gave him very good views.

"Over there, luv", he said and pointed out the chair across the room.

Downright I rushed to the chair and pulled my jeans on. I didn't even care look for my socks or my shoes, I just dashed out from the cabin. A bright sunlight blinded me for a moment and a light ocean wind grazed my face. Their combined effect was overwhelming.

I explored the deck with a great interest. It seemed pirates were everywhere on their work which I didn't understand anything. I had never been on a sailing ship before. I watched the life on a ship for a moment until I felt someone putting a hand on my shoulder. I flinched and turned quickly around. Jack stood in front of me.

"Well, what d'ye like?" he asked.

"About what?" I cast him a counter question surely uncertain about what he had meant.

"About me ship o'course, luv", Jack answered smiling.

"Oh... that...", I mumbled embarrassed. I had thought something completely different. "It is... beautiful."

"Isn't it?" Jack said and cast a loving glance at his ship.

I was quiet for a moment and I looked at the ship again. Yes, it was beautiful. I had always thought sailing ships were beautiful and this had something special.

"Where are we going?" I asked then feeling awkward from the silence.

"Right now we're heading Tortuga. Ye can get off the ship there or ye can stay with me to sail", the captain answered looking straight into my eyes. Those eyes had hypnotic effect on me. I could have stared for eternity in them. In some way they attracted me and for a moment I was about to answer I would definitely stay with Jack.

Instead I said: "Right, I'll think about it." I couldn't let myself think about a stranger in this way. "What kind of place this Tortuga is?"

"It's the best town in the whole wide world... I wish every town would be the same kind" Jack said.

"So it is a pirate town?" I asked.

"Aye, luv. Ye're gonna love it."

I thought about it. Would I really like a pirate town? And could I leave the ship in such a kind of place or anywhere else at all? I didn't know anyone in this time, so I hadn't any place where to go. Maybe I really should stay on the Pearl.

After all staying on the Pearl didn't feel so bad idea, when you took into consideration that I didn't have a place where to go. But where would I sleep? I recalled quickly history lessons and it occurred to me that ships of this period didn't have any different cabins. Only a captain had his own cabin, crew slept under the deck. I swallowed quite loudly and Jack glanced at me curiously. I knew my options weren't very good: Either I would sleep with Jack or the crew. I guess I could sleep on the deck, but it didn't feel a very good idea.

I glanced at the running crew on the deck. How long have they been without a woman? Likely for a long. And they were so dirty. Thought of sleeping with them gave me a shiver.

"Well... Would it possibly be possible if I slept in your cabin?" I asked cautiously.

"Absolutely, luv", Jack answered giving me a insinuate smile. I had seen that look on men before and I knew he had misunderstood my request. "I meant nothing else than just sleeping! If you touch me even with your fingertip, I'll..."

Jack laughed when I fell silent. Yes, what would I have done to a stronger than I was. I turned my back on the pirate and walked to the bow of the ship.

I stared at the ocean which spread out in front of me and I started to think. So I was in the 17th century in the middle of the Caribbean. I didn't know exactly how I had got here or how I could get out of here if I could. I might have to stay in this time. I would definitely miss my family and my friends, but it was just something I had to accept if I couldn't go back anymore. At the moment my life in future somehow felt like little bit distant and unreal. Just like I had always been here and future would have been just my imagination.

What if future was just my imagination? Maybe I had shipwrecked and lost my memory. Well, I doubt it. However, now I had to try to fit in new conditions and in life on a pirate ship. I couldn't imagine leaving the ship and it's captain. Only in those two were my eyes fixed on in this time and in this place. I smiled a little thinking of the handsome captain. He was really good-looking and just the type of men who always swept my feet away.

I spend all day watching the life on the ship. Everything was so fascinating and time went past too fast. Too soon I noticed myself staring at the purple sunset. I leaned against the railing when the sun settled down in the ocean. Someone came next to me to watch the great performance of nature. First I thought the person was Jack, but when I turned I saw a tall, black woman. She was very beautiful with her long hair.

"Nice to meet ye! I'm Anamaria, the first mate", the woman introduced herself and smiled friendly.

"Nice to meet you as well", I said smiling back. So I wasn't the only woman on board. "I'm Ann Smith. The crew found me drifting from the ocean."

"I know, I was the one who spotted ye", Anamaria answered.

"Oh... Well, thank you. Without you I would probably be dead by now", I said to the woman truly grateful.

We were both quiet for a moment and we stared at the ocean. I felt myself much safer now when I knew there was a another woman on the ship.

"So ye're sleeping in the captain's premises, are ye?" Anamaria asked.

"Well, yes..." I didn't really know what I should answer.

"It may have better from yer point of view. I just mean these men are good people, but I'm the only woman who they've seen for a month, so..." the woman explained.

"So you are sleeping with them in the same premises, are you?" I wondered.

"Aye, but they don't dare to lay a hand on me. The men know I'd kill 'em if they even tried", Anamaria said that sort of seriousness in her voice that I knew she meant it. I nodded at her understandingly.

"I guess ye're not a pirate, eh?" Anamaria stated.

"No."

Anamaria nodded at me in turn and asked no more. She stood next to me another minute and then said she would go in the hold to play some card with the men.

I stayed alone to watch how the last beams of the sun disappeared behind the horizon. I felt the air getting colder and for the first time in a whole day I missed my jacket and my shoes. My bare-toes were totally numb with cold when I headed my steps towards the captain's premises.

Jack sat a bottle in his hand in the cabin and looked at me smiling, when I walked in. I inquired from him my jacket, but he glanced at me oddly once again.

"Yer jacket? Ye didn't have a jacket, when we found ye", he said and drank a swig from his bottle. "Would ye perhaps take a little bit rum to keep ye warm?"

"Well... No thank you", I answered quickly. I sure would not let a stranger to drink me into inebriation.

I stood idled in the middle of the cabin for a moment. I was still cold and I started to shiver. I thought it would be much warmer in the bed, so I sat down on it and wrapped the covers around me. Jack lifted the bottle up again onto his lips and focused on drinking.
