Chapter 2 baby. I must say though that Colorado Springs is very quiet compared to Orlando, I like that a lot.

Oh yeah and the freakiest thing ever happened when I spent my last day in Epcot with my family. I met Space Spy's grandparents and I did not know that until I told him about them. Well it's a small world after all. Okay on to the new chapter.

A month went by and Conga spent most of that time in the savanna searching for the hawk. But something in her mind made her head for a different change of scenery and when she saw the first sign of the African Jungle she went straight toward it.

From far off it looked like a friendly place with bright green foliage and plenty of food to eat. Something she had not been doing much. In fact Conga often went a whole day without eating before realizing that her body was slowing down a little. Something that could be dangerous if not monitored closely enough.

Once she reached the edge of the jungle, she perched herself on a branch and looked into the unknown. She could hear the cries of other birds coming from inside. It was mostly singing but it sounded very different to the kind heard outside in the savanna. It was dark too, very dark and mysterious. All the more reason to go in and find the hawk.

As she flew in she passed many strange creatures. I big eyed rodent that watched her from its branch with curiousness, and wondering what this strange new visitor was doing in the jungle. Giant butterflies, and even a few birds that had the strangest plumage. Some brightly colored, so bright in fact that Conga thought that they could make the sun set in shame.

Once she got deeper into the jungle, she felt a strange sensation enter the pit of her stomach. It did not feel very welcome any more and she felt that something was watching her.

Conga decided to stop for a moment to gather her bearings straight and to figure out which would be the right way to go. She chose a bad spot though.

She perched on the same tree where a python was taking a nap but was awakened by Conga's sudden movement. The python looked groggily at what made the noise and saw Conga perched on the branch next to him. The python smiled, today was a lucky day, he was hungry after a week without food and only eating a few lizards. So he began to sneak in closer.

Conga did not see him coming until he was only a few inches behind her. She turned around and stood face to face with the monster. At first she could only stifle a scream and tried to fly but the python's hypnotic stare caused her to stay put.

Conga stared into the yellow eyes as the python moved back and forth waiting for the right moment to snatch her and squeeze the life out of her.

Suddenly the pythons hypnotic stare vanished as another bird jumped on his head, pinning him down on the branch. For a moment Conga stood there stunned until she shook herself back to reality and to find her fact to face with the other bird.

"FLY, YOUNG FLEDGLING, FLY!" He cried.

Without another thought, Conga leapt into the air and flew as fast as she could away from the tree. She was so scared now that she did not care where she was going. She ran into giant leaves, spider webs, and nearly knocked a monkey off of its perch.

She did not stop until a few minutes later when she had to stop and take a breath. Too afraid to perch any where she hovered for a moment and looked around. She wanted to thank that bird but he was no where to be seen.

"I wonder where he went," she said to herself as she looked in the direction where she had come from.

Conga then took a deep breath and decided to go back that way and find him. As she flew back, all the creatures that she disturbed watched her in great anger. Especially the spiders who had spent all night trying to make a new web.

"Hey what's the matter with you, you nearly killed me and you killed my most delicious piece of mango I have ever tried and I had only tried one bite," said the monkey.

"I'm sorry sir; it's just that I was almost eaten by a snake," said Conga.

"Well you should have let him eat you then none of this would have happened you little brat," said the monkey.

Conga stuck out her tongue at him and continued to fly off ignoring the monkey's insults from behind her.

She was glad that she decided to come back where she came from because when she finally found the bird who saved her, he was still in the same spot only this time he seemed to be the one in trouble, the snake now had him in his grasp.

Conga had to save him, he saved her and she wanted to make sure he heard her say thank you. Without another thought, Conga swooped down and clawed at the pythons eyes. The python hissed in rage causing him to loose his grip of the other bird who had lost most of his energy being squeezed. He tried to grip his claws on the branch but he was so dizzy that he plummeted toward the ground.

Luckily Conga had blinded the snake long enough for her to notice that the other bird was falling, so as fast as she could she swooped down to save him before he was killed on impact.

Conga quickly grabbed a large leaf from a nearby tree and pulled it out a little hoping that the bird would land on it. It worked but not very well. The bird bounced on it for a second but when he touched the leaf again, he fell through and landed on the heavy ground.

Conga looked down at the stunned bird who seemed to be alright, just a little dizzy. She looked at him for a moment and found him to be a hornbill just like her only much older and was a very dark green with a few specks of gray here and there.

"You okay?" asked Conga.

The hornbill moaned a little and rubbed his head.

"That depends; are there really two of you?" He asked.

"No it's just me," said Conga.

"Then no I am not," said the hornbill.

"What can I do to help you then?" asked Conga.

"Leave me alone to dieeeeeeee," said the hornbill in a rather sad tone.

Conga chuckled a little and helped him stand up; maybe he would get his bearings better that way.

"I had to save you, especially after you saved me," said Conga.

"Well that was nice but I'm old, besides that python would have spat me out any way. I was going to follow you but he grabbed me before I knew what hit me," said the hornbill as he tried to stand upright.

Conga watched as he tried to walk a little. It was quite comical, one moment the hornbill would be walking okay but then he would stumble a little. Finally the hornbill collapsed in a heap and gave a big sigh.

"Now I know I am not as young as I used to be," he said.

Conga grabbed a nearby leaf that had some water in it and brought it over to the hornbill for him to drink. He quickly slurped it up and then massaged his head for a few moments. It took a while for him to finally recover but once he came around he began to show his true nature.

"Now then thanks for saving me, but you should have not risked your life out like that, in fact I can tell you have never been here before so I suggest you leave before you get hurt again," said the bird.

"Well that's what I planned on doing any way," said Conga.

"Then do you know your way out?" asked the hornbill.

"No but I know I will find it when I am ready," said Conga.

"When you are ready?" asked the hornbill in a very inquisitive manner.

"Yeah I'm searching this place," said Conga.

"For what?" asked the hornbill who quickly grabbed a berry from a nearby plant and began to eat it.

"A hawk," said Conga.

"Oh searching for a friend I see," said the hornbill who then wiped the berry juice on a leaf then proceeded to scratch himself as he grabbed another berry.

"Oh no he's not a friend, I'm actually going to kill him," said Conga.

The hornbill spat out his the berry sending seeds and berry juice flying. Conga was quickly covered in the mess. The hornbill stared at her in disbelief.

"Now why in the name of all good things would you want to kill a hawk, those things are ten times bigger than any of us and you are only a fledgling," said the hornbill.

"Because he killed my mother and I want revenge," said Conga.

"Killed your mother eh, but it's the circle of life kid, those things happen," said the hornbill.

Conga turned to the hornbill in anger, she hated it when others used the circle of life on her, she had been told that a lot on this journey and frankly she was getting sick of it.

"Will everyone stop giving me that circle of life crap? Listen the hawk did not kill her because he was hungry, he killed her for no reason," said Conga.

"No reason, but….." said the hornbill but was quickly interrupted by Conga.

"He laughed in her face as she told him to stop!" Cried Conga who actually had her face as close as she could to the other hornbills.

"I see," said the hornbill who did not flinch.

"I think he deserves to die because of it and I don't care if I die trying to do it because at least I tried," said Conga.

The hornbill stared at her in silence, in all his years he had never seen any one like her and for some reason he liked her spunk even though he knew her quest was probably a waste of time.

"Well kid I must say that you have some bravery in you no doubt about that but do you even remember what this hawk even looks like there's got to be hundreds of them out there just like him," said the hornbill.

"Oh I can never forget a face like that, all evil and ugly and…………..Lone Ranger like," said Conga who then made a disgusted face.

"Ah he has a mask then," said the hornbill.

"Well not a real mask just a marking," said Conga.

"I knew that," said the hornbill who then grabbed another berry.

"Well any way I just wanted to say thank you for rescuing me, I must be off so I can go find him," said Conga.

"Your going by yourself?" asked the hornbill.

"Yup, it's my journey and my journey alone.

"So you don't need any help?" asked the hornbill.

Conga shook her head and gave the old hornbill a stern look which was her way of telling him to not follow her. She hated help unless it was an emergency and this kind of help was definitely not an emergency and the old bird would definitely be in the way.

"Well fine then, hope you can get out of here in one piece or at least not be torn to shreds like the hawk did to your mother. That's what he did to her right?" asked the hornbill.

Conga stood still, she really did not want to see that image again but of course it came back to her and her frustration rose.

"I would appreciate it if you don't mention that again, it really hurt me seeing her dying like that, and you have no right to tell me what I can and cannot do because you aren't my father. My father is back in the pride lands wallowing in self pity and not doing any thing about it. You don't want to be like my father," said Conga who now had tears running down her face as she yelled at the old hornbill who was now on the ground trying to avoid her angry stare.

"Hey I was only telling you that it was dangerous I wasn't stopping you," said the hornbill.

"Good because I would have found a way to keep you from following me," said Conga.

"You know you're too young to act like this," said the hornbill.

"And your point?" asked Conga who then flew back up to the canopy.

"Because your are missing out on your childhood," yelled the hornbill.

Conga rolled her eyes and continued to fly around the jungle until she decided to stop for a moment and decide where to head next. The jungle was very different compared to the savanna and she was not sure which path would be the best.

She did not have long enough to decide though because a few minutes later a furry paw grabbed hertailand she felt herself being dragged along the branches. She tried to turn around to see who had grabbed her but instead was knocked out by a tree branch causing her world to go black.

A/N: Uh oh sounds like Conga is in a predicament, I bet you are wondering what will happen now. Good. The next chapter will be more silly and light hearted so don't worry about drama happening all the time, I ain't doing that. And the old hornbill well you will see more of him, that's Baakir in case you are wondering couldn't find a good spot to introduce themselves really, he is very important to the story. Sorry if this chapter was boring, didn't mean to make them ramble like that.

Oh and an important question I must ask all of you. Should I change my penname to Narfynarf? It's Kahllynns fault and it sounds so catchy.

Well please review and have a great day.
