PILOT-REVISITED
2
What if John had not made it out of the house alive on that fateful night? What if they boys were then raised separately? Sammy gets adopted by a lovely family while Dean finds himself stuck in the foster home system, wanting to always find his little brother. This is my take on it.
As always, I DO NOT OWN SUPERNATURAL!!
A/N: Thanks for the reviews! Here's chapter 2 ( I hope you like it!)
As Max started to get up, he felt a small hand grasping his.
He looked down at the small boy who was looking up at him.
"Would you like me to go with you?" Max inquired.
Dean slowly nodded his head.
"All right," Max sighed, "just let me tell my men, okay?"
After Max was done talking into his two-way radio, he was right by the Dean's side.
"All right, Dean," he said calmly to the still frighten child, "let's get you and your brother to the hospital."
Dean didn't like his baby brother being taken away from him when they had arrived at the ER at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
"SAMMY!!" He screamed as he held out his small arms for them to put his brother back in.
One of the attending nurses tried to calm the distressed child down.
"Shhh, child," she said soothingly, "nobody's going to hurt your baby brother
This, of course, made matters only worse, causing her to look over at the fireman, who had just brought them in, for help.
"It might be a good idea to let him watch them working on his brother," he suggested with a shrug.
"But, we need to check on him too," she protested.
"That can wait," Max countered. "Right now, that kid needs to make sure his baby brother is okay."
When she didn't budge, he went on to saying, "Look, you don't want to traumatize him anymore than he already is, do you?"
The nurse's eyes softened a little, and then she nodded.
"Hey, honey," she smiled down at the little boy, who still was holding his hand out for his brother, "would you like to watch your baby brother as the doctors and nurses check to see if he's all right?"
Dean hiccuped a nodded.
Max smiled as he watched Dean being carried over to where Sammy was being checked out.
A familiar squelching sound coming through his two-way radio, causing him to step out of the ER.
"Max, here. Over," he spoke in a low voice, so not to disturb anyone.
"Alec, here. Over."
"Report. Over."
"The fire has been contained. Over."
"Any news about their parents? Over."
When no response came, Max became very worried.
"Report. Over," he said with more force in his voice than he had intended.
"Their remains have been sent to the coroner's," came the shaky reply from the other end. "Over."
"Ten-four," Max said solemnly before putting the two-way radio back in the case that hung from his belt.
Just great, he thought to himself as he walked back to the ER in time to watch the doctor and nurses checking on Dean, who was looking at his brother being held by one of the nurses. "How do I tell him?"

A/N: I'm ending this chapter here. Sorry if it's kind of short. But this is what I like to call a transitional chapter. The next chapter will deal with Dean and Sammy's hospital experience. I'm not sure if they will be separated in this chapter or the next one. That will depend how the next chapter works out for me.
Please, read and review, and let me know if you want to read more.
Thanks!!
