Koanita- This is the first chapter, the first i posted was the prologue if you will, please review. :)

Disclaimer- I own nothing, rights remain to the Sonic Team. The only character i came up with was Nightshade, as my made up.

Author Note- If you have any questions please ask. Also some memories are from her last uh, 'life' in this dimension where sonic and the others exists...It is good to remember that the oc's are from different worlds respectively. Therefore some flashbacks will be in other dimensions, including the real one she is from. This will happen on and off as the story progresses.

Also- this chapter has been re-done. I have left the Prologue alone but after so long of a break from the story I have found flaws in this chapter and have sense then fixed them. Thank You.

Dimensional Chaos

Chapter 1- Storm on the High Sea's

3 Years Prior; 12th Dimension, Xurca Galaxy: Nerva, Zilian 3

It was a quiet day, for the most part. Dare set about cooking a meal below deck as Lectrix cleaned above….Nightshade herself was situated directing the ship. Why had they ended up in such a situation anyway? To think this place was crawling with their enemies…it'd been more than bad luck. However it had told them one thing they had never suspected: the Doers were a lot more cunning then they had given them credit for.

An entire colony feed lies and suspicion by the organization. Now even knew worlds could be a waiting jail cell…or far worse. These people were 'good' and thus those who they had tricked would fight for them without question. It had only been pure luck that they were warned by the society's outcast. ~ Yet they, even though heeding the warning had no other choice still but to go into the lion's den. After all, any world connected to the two gems were an option for the shards if any others existed of the gem…perhaps even a guardian, remnants of hints, or even sacred tablets of stone writings on them.

It was there duty to make sure of these things: to keep the Kunzite Gem and its twin safe, to reunite the two after finding and completing the broken remnants of the Kunzite: seeing as it had been taken by the seekers, who was charged with finding the sacred objects and hiding them with the guardians appointed by destiny. The only issue is that while attempting to hide the gem it was shattered…although how and why was never spoken of.

The largest portion of the gem was hidden and all records but those spread throughout the dimensions were destroyed. They only issue with this is that when the gem shattered the balance of the worlds was thrown off…and once the scale tipped if not corrected then everything would become nothing. No light, no dark…nothing. No death and no life. Everything would eventually end….and now it was drawing near: it's why they were all here. Her warriors…

Lectrix, Dare….and her brother were warriors, charged with the task from before birth. And on the day of the equinox when the flux of the chaotic twin gem: the master emerald, occurred the scale whatever had remained of even the darker balance was threatened….and the Kunzite could no longer respond, at least not in order to solify the other. It did however call upon those destined to fallow its pull. Only six warriors existed….three to each of the twin gems. Two guardians….although, as far as she knew the story of another guardian and warriors who protect the Master Emerald could just be a myth…yet she had considered that of the Kunzite one as well: and had been deeply wrong.

The one who guard's chaos is noble and true, the one who guards order is barbaric and dither. One of true decent…one of mixed breeding. ~ Nightshade sighed….why was she even thinking about all of this at a time of such hectic days? It…wasn't like thinking about it would provide any answers. No, only time would do such. One day she would meet the other guardian, the Kunzite would be whole and found- they two would become one and they could both hide it away…her home dimension would be free again and time would flow. Or so she hoped. It was really the only thing that had pushed her decision to keep going and to fallow destiny. That, and a glimmer she had caught in the fragment of the Kunzite that had appeared in front of her so many years ago.

A small smile made its way at the memory…when she had met Dare. Time had frozen in her world- even the rain and crashing thunder, the people who had taken her family from her as well…did not breathe, did not move or blink. Everything had just stopped. At first she had been relieved; she had token her parents out of there and placed them somewhere far away and safe. She made a fort next to her brother's grave and the forest…but no matter how long she waited nothing changed, and still that damn shard had just floated there capturing the glow of the moon.

Had time even passed in other dimensions? Had time been relevant between them as it was? Was time moving for her or was everything she did actually slow compare to others? Finally when the quiet became maddening, the world lonely and her anger as well despair for all that occurred before the change and added upon afterward exploded she found herself in front of the shard. With all intent she was conceiving of throwing it away, attempting to break it…reason with it as if any of that would help- yet as she looked at it something caught her eye.

A male…actually, quite a few depending on what angle she looked…one of them was…a cat? He was green although there seemed to be black patches appearing in his fur as if the color was fading in some spots. He seemed perplexed but rather happy as he smiled at her…or perhaps a gem shard like the one in front of her. It was off though, as if the image was distant and blurry…like something that was not yet there. She was about to ride it off as her mind messing with her…until she was it. Or him.

He…was the same race of animal as her mother had been, not that replacement one her father had married a few years after her true one had become ill and then a memory. Her 'mother' now was most obviously a mink…her father must have a thing for other species, as her mother had not been a hedgehog like him either. No…her mother had been beautiful, strong and kind. Yet the recollection of her was dim now, she could still recall the long quills she had, her green eyes, the purplish red fur and crooked tail. It really was a shame that none others real existed, and those who did were far and few. Even her mother had not seen more than one beside her parents…and that had been just before they left the home place of their species.

Ah, but the man that was of such, looked nothing like her mother past that. His fur was a deep red, sept for the pink patch of fur on his chest. His eyes, were pink as well….but the odd color was not what kept her transfixed…no, it was that look in them. Haunting, alone, complacency, anger…and a bitter bite deeper down. Why did he hold such in his eyes? Why is he alone and completely isolated: as nothing but the freezing tundra surrounded him, he stood there simply looking back with a bored and furrowed expression, he seemed tired or wary.

His long red quills moved with the cold air as it moved about him but seemed to have no effect, in fact it seemed to embrace him that snow and blanket him from everything else. He took a step toward her, or the shard hesitantly, and she wondered if he could see her through it as well, even more so…why she was seeing this or what the purpose was. Sure Nightshade knew of her destiny…but nothing had happened past being able to jump from world to world, as well having some odd abilities…was this, others that shared her fate?

Either way she watched as the guy seemed to think better of it, looking around as if deciding to go toward it or leave, and she was already in front of the shard now, a feeling of not wanting to lose this person she didn't know and be alone came over her as she reached out and touched the shard right before a bright blinding light a weird almost searing warmth filled her as she felt herself leave her dimension, and her world once more…only this time with no way back.

The next thing she had known, she had been lying on the ground landing in snow, and freezing. Once she had gone to get up, moving to rub warmth into her arms as she held on to the jewel, looking up to see she wasn't alone. That had been the day she had met Dare, one of the warriors destined to join her and another in the path set before them. Nightshade shook away her memory's however as she heard footsteps, and glanced up to see Lectrix.

"How long until we reach land?" He asked a bit anxious to do so, not that anyone could blame him…we were in a serious predicament as it was. Most lands were not safe in this world, and we had managed to find a stone tablet so far in this world, we needed to check for more. Yet with the Doers knowing of us being here….we had a limited amount of time and had to take extra precautions…like this boat had been.

Nightshade sighed and shook her head. "Not sure, judging from the map though we should be coming to it soon enough." He nodded solemnly. "I don't like this…it's been quiet and I expected we'd of seen something by now after getting ahold of something they've been searching for." She rubbed her temples. "I know the feeling…I want to say we're lucky we haven't yet…but somehow it leaves a bad feeling in my stomach. We may have an ambush once we reach land waiting on us."

Time Skip, 5 days later

They had been right. Well, for the most part, waiting just off the coast of land had been a bunch of the Division of Evil Rights, or DOERs, waiting for them- and even more on land. They had attempted to fight them off but there was too many and the ship took some heavy tolls before it finally started taking on water, leaving no other choice but for them to abandon ship and come aboard the enemies. They started fighting their way through them from boat to boat trying to get to land, Dare had caused some ships to be stuck and frozen in ice, Lectrix ended up taking out a vast number, what where they fell more came. Even his lightning could do little at the time as it would either hit every one of destroy exactly the place they were using to fight upon.

She had been running, out of control, the shards boost of power coursing through her. Her voice alone had done well to take out a vast number….as well causing harm to the ships, and as such she attempted to rely on her speed and brute strength, which was going well…but there was no end. She could keep going but eventually she would tire and not be able to. Something needed to be done; she needed to get the stone tablets to safety as well ensure that they could not find or get a hold of the gems shards.

Yet they could not all teleport for risk it remaining open to long and them fallowing, or worse them getting ahold of something during the distraction. She turned hitting one in the chest, but where it fell, another appeared. She kicked him away and blasted at the spot where they stood. Running, she grabbed Dare and Lectrix's hands, Lectrix throwing the tablet and there the portal opened as it shattered. They were so close, but then someone screamed and one of the hands was ripped out, or thrown away by the owner.

She looked up and was hit, as was Lectrix, just as they reached the portal. Someone as she was trying to get up, got her in the back while trying to attack and take them out of there, but Lectrix pushed her behind him once she had gotten onto her feet, both backing toward the portal as Dare distracted the group, while he held there attention Lex pushed her into the portal. "We'll be late." He said, and then they were gone. She looked around wide eyed and worried for them, as she took in the world she landed in…somewhere in a forest.
